I'm Sydney Silvani, a Pennsylvania police officer is facing voluntary manslaughter charges after fatally shooting an unarmed college student who mistakenly walked to the wrong house after a night out with friends. The Montgomery County District Attorney's office announced that 58 year old police corporal, Sean Farrell, turned himself in to detectives following an intensive investigation

1:01into the death of 22 year old Glenwood, Bubba Pisher, the fourth. Pisher's mother, Aaron Pisher, revealed that her son had been participating in a pub crawl with friends on Saturday, August 22nd. Afterwards, the group decided to move the party to nearby homes and Pisher accidentally approached the wrong residents while attempting to move between locations. Officers arrived at the scene around 12.30 a.m. on August 23rd, following a 911 call reporting a possible attempted break-in at a local residence. Corporal Farrell, the first officer to arrive, walked down the driveway with a firearm and mounted light, positioning himself behind a red vehicle. Body worn camera footage captured Pisher standing on the concrete patio near the rear door. As Farrell yelled commands for Pisher to show his hands and drop to the ground, the college student raised his hands in the air and began walking toward the officer. Speaking out about the fatal encounter, Pisher's grieving mother expressed her utter disbelief and statements reported by CBS.

2:03Corporal Farrell then yells, stop or I'll. And before finishing the statement, Corporal Farrell fires his handgun twice, striking Mr. Fisher twice in the chest, killing him. Investigators determined that Pisher was 17 to 20 feet away from Corporal Farrell and completely unarmed when the officer opened fire. Body camera footage captured the tragic final seconds of the encounter as Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele described in court statements provided to CBS. There was no taser, no nothing, automatic, deadly force. And we can't believe that that's the extreme that the cop took, that that was his first thought. This young kid unarmed, high-staggering around a little drunk and his thought was to shoot him and kill him. Detectives recovered two fired cartridge casings from Farrell's handgun at the scene, confirming Pisher posed no threat and possessed no weapons whatsoever.

3:04Under Pennsylvania law, police officers are justified in using deadly force only when necessary to prevent death or serious bodily injury to themselves or others. District Attorney Steele highlighted that Corporal Farrell had less than lethal options on his utility belt, including a taser, which he failed to employ, while standing at a safe distance behind a car. District Attorney Steele emphasized that this was not illegal use of deadly force. Farrell surrendered to authorities, had his bail set at $75,000, and is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on September 10th. More crime and justice news after this. John Urb-Hays III and Jordan Nicole Hayes were taken into custody in Carter County, Tennessee by the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office. Both parents face charges under South Carolina law for unlawfully placing a child at risk and willfully abandoning a child, following an extensive multi-agency search for little sailor Hayes. Sailor was reported missing after wandering away from a rental home in Haglia States on Polly's Island. Authorities note that sailor had a known affinity for water and allotment. Although she had been equipped with a tracking monitoring device since 2024, arrest affidavits reveal that her parents removed the device before leaving Virginia. Investigators alleged the couple left the vulnerable child

Shockingly, affidavits indicate that the parents actively encouraged search teams to use project lifesaver tracking technology to detect her transponder, despite knowing she was not wearing it. South Carolina Department of Natural Resources agents recovered sailor's body in the waters near Hagley Landing. Sheriff Carter Weaver stressed that parents have a fundamental duty to protect vulnerable children, promising to pursue full legal accountability. In Texas, a 63-year-old man with an extensive violent criminal record has been indicted for murder in connection with the brutal killing of his 84-year-old father. According to Court affidavits, neighbors spotted Ronnie Medford arguing with his father, Johnny Medford, on May 11th, before Ronnie left the premises. Neighbors told investigators that the elderly father had previously expressed deep concern and fear that his son would physically harm him. Authorities were called to the Henderson County home

6:07after a neighbor reported a foul odor and suspected human remains inside a burn barrel on the property. Responding officers discovered blood spatter, covering the laundry room walls, floor, and appliances, alongside distinct drag marks leading directly out to a burn barrel containing human remains. United States marshals arrested Ronnie Medford 10 days later in the Dallas area, and a grand jury officially indicted him for murder on August 13th. Public records reveal Medford has a lengthy criminal history including prior convictions for assault and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Currently held on a $2.1 million bond, Medford faces up to 99 years in prison at his upcoming arraignment on September 14th.
