Bloomberg Audio Studios Podcasts, radio, news The Stock Movers Report Your roundup of companies making moves in the stock market, harnessing the power of Bloomberg data. And I am Alexis Christophe, along with Jess Menton, in for Carolyn Tim today. They are traveling to Sonny Huntington Beach, California for the Future Proof Wealth Management Festival, which is going to kick off tomorrow. They're going to be there both Tuesday and Wednesday. So we're here now to talk to you about the stock movers today because they were plenty of them. And including, well, what did you have your eye on, Jess? And then I'll tell you what I had my eye on. Let's take a look at stocks on the move here. The two that stood out to me

and I'm going to package these together. So CRWD is crowd-strike. And I'm going to also mention Palo Alto networks with that because those were the two best performers in the S&P 500 as well as the Nesik 100 today. And that actually, the reason I bring that up because obviously we're down a little bit lower here for the S&P 500 today. But you saw them come off of their lows. The S&P was down as much as 8 tenths of a percent. But brought that in to close almost flat today, but crowd-strike. And then PANW is the ticker symbol for Palo Alto networks here. But you saw cyber security stocks actually moving in opposite directions compared to what we saw with the AI trade. And we were talking to Mandi, seeing over at Bloomberg Intelligence earlier, trying to square away. If this could potentially be something that was temporary for some of these cyber security names or if it could be long-lasting that remains to be seen. But looking at crowd-strike, up almost 14 percent today, that was its best day. It's not too long ago, August 27th there.

And then of course, if you're looking over at Palo Alto networks, ticker symbol P and W. I know another one that was the second best performer here in the S&P 500. For both the Nesik 100 as well, I'm taking a look at. So crowd-strike and Palo Alto. So we'll have to watch and see how, you know, if this continues tomorrow on Tuesday or if they give back a little bit of attention. There's not necessarily a linear line going from the AI-related companies to cyber security. And why is the market seeming to make this connection and sending them so much higher? I mean, the thought process was maybe like, okay, well now maybe we need these cyber security services more than ever because of the threats that AI may cause and can cyber security help delay those fears. Right. But it's not like these cyber security companies have come out and said, oh, wait a minute, we actually have tools that can help us wrap our arms around AI. And Palo Alto, we were mentioning that P and W, up 13%. That's best day since April 9th, 2025.

It's not effective there. That was when we saw that huge rebound during the tear of tantrum. When they ended up delaying what was going to happen. So we saw that massive just rally overall in the markets last year. And if you look at Palo Alto, the year to date up more than 100% years. So it's been on fire. It has been on fire. You know, also I was taking a look at some of the other stocks on the movie, the S&P, at least today. And Coinbase has been actually on a tear as of late. And today it was up 9%. We also had Gartner, that company, that stock, ticker symbol IT, up nearly 10%. And then on the downside, we got to talk about some of the losers today, Corning. We also had TeraDine and Coherent, HP as well. He'll at Packard Enterprise, among the biggest losers in the S&P 500 today. Right. And you were mentioning Coinbase looking over at Bitcoin today. Still right under 80,000 though, but up over 2%. So some of those stocks that are kind of crypto tied,

kind of moving higher in sympathy with what was happening in Bitcoin. This stock movers report from Bloomberg Radio.
