In this episode, Shelley and I discuss what real prayer looks like in stillness and steady consistency based on Tyler Staton's book, "Praying like Monks, Living like Fools."
Prayer is a practice that has existed since man came to be. God made us, and therefore, communion with Him is the most natural thing possible. However, over time, and especially in the post-idustrial age, mankind began to more acutely suffer from an absence of dynamic interaction with his Creator. Our modern era has dramatically modified the kind of interaction that, even our parents, have had with stillness and rhythm in life, routine, and - often the most vastly overlooked - prayer. Here we explore the ancient nature of stillness and prayer continuity compared to our current nature of trying to fit prayer in somewhere.
