Welcome back to Turn Down For What, your source for EV news and updates. Like and subscribe for more content like this episode. Let's dive on in. Good morning everybody and welcome to this awesome special edition of Turn Down For What. It's another day and this is a special episode with our good friends and guests, Tolic and Josh West. Josh Turner is going to try to join us here in a little bit. He had a little bit of an emergency vet incident this morning. So he is going to hopefully jump on if he has an opportunity. So we have reinforcements to talk today about the cyber cab. We want to hear a couple different perspectives. So we have got an awesome conversation and we want you guys to join in because this is one of those moments where I think it's been underplayed a bit.

Usually get a whole lot of hype, a whole lot of conversation. I've actually been shocked and surprised how little there have been out there aside from maybe Jeremy trying to drive himself to jail and a few others out there. There has not been nearly the hype and buzz even Elon himself did not show up to this one. So it's been a little understated compared to some of the previous events. But I think it's one of those pivotal moments where we'll see what comes of it. It's kind of in a local area out there in your neighborhood, Josh, which a lot of things are these days. So we thought, man, let's get Josh on. Thank you for joining us and let's also get Tolic who is and has been on the show by the way. And I'm really looking forward to learning from a ride share perspective. You long time model why owner, long time EV driver. And this is right up your alley man.

This is what you do for a living. They are literally stealing the steering wheel at foot pedals out of your hands. And so so much to talk about here, man. And for those that don't know, we'll leave links here in the description so you guys can check out their pages. First, Tolic is just has an amazing channel here and shout out to him because he really got me started on my YouTube journey. When I first thought about, hey, how am I going to do a channel? He is who I reached out to. I said, man, how are you editing your videos? How are you doing what you do? If you've never seen some of what he does, he works magic with the way he shoots and what's the craziest thing? First time I met him was picking up a cyber truck with Will F the pump down to Southern California. And I watched this man video on an iPhone. I swear to God, I thought he had a steady cam. He does this by hand. And to watch him video something is magic.

Watch his videos and understand that the man is doing this by hand without a steady cam. And it will change the way you see the world. It's good stuff here. So yeah, he's got some great videos here recently with Iona, the Max Pack, Aptera, and some really good stuff back here with the Rivian, by the way, if you haven't seen it, not the Rivian. I'm sorry, the Lucid that's down here somewhere, man. I don't know where it is, but I know you've got it. There it is. There's your gravity stuff, which is just stellar work, dude. So yeah, now that I've properly glazed you, thank you for all that you've done to help me get to where I am. I didn't realize how much I knew some of that, but I didn't realize how much it had made on you, but it's good to see where you've gone from there. Yeah, it's good stuff, man. And if I'm going to glaze myself, shout out to me with my 10,000 subscribers, YouTube sending me the swag. So I'm rocking my YouTube gear and tribute to you, Mr. Tolic, for helping me get this

going. And speaking of 10,000 subscribers, my fellow 10k entrepreneurial 10 from Canada, right? 10k, Josh West right here. Look, 10,300 subscribers. And here's all the shine for you, man. Look at this. Robo, taxi, cyber, cab in Austin. This is what we were talking about, man. Shout out to you and your channel just going crazy, dude. We did some good stuff here. And you were visiting for Rivian. We got to do our first meetup together down here. Got to pick you up at the airport. So again, friend of the show, I can't think you enough for jumping on with us. Man, how cool was this event, man? Tell us how you've been. What you've been up to. Tell us everything about you in 30 seconds. Leave nothing out. All right, we'll do our best. Yeah, thanks so much again for having me on Chris. It's always great to chat with you guys. Tolic, a long time friend as well. He's connected with him when I get out to San Diego. You guys are my West Coast connections.

So we all help each other. We all inspire each other on this sort of creator journey. It's lots of fun. Yeah, so located here in Austin, Texas, not far from Giga and anything and everything. Tesla Rivian, all that good stuff. Lucid as well, just did a little gravity video when I was back up in Canada. I go back and forth a fair bit. So I'm able to get some content on some of the Chinese EVs that are coming to Canada. I've got a trip planned up there. So I'll be doing some Chinese EV reviews, including Chinese made Teslas as well. My father-in-law's pick them one up soon. But yeah, very exciting stuff here in Austin. We've got Robotaxi, which the program has been running here for over a year. I was one of the early folks to get access. So I was able to, you know, when people came into town, I was able to give them rides and really share the experience of what started to provide them, went unsupervised. Now we've got CyberCab and there's been these sort of levels of how it's evolved in the city, which has been really exciting to witness. And the latest event was, yeah, this CyberCab situation, they launched it. And it was really interesting.

Yeah, you're right. Elon was not there. Neither was Lars, Chief Engineer, Franz, Chief Designer of Tesla. These guys are usually always at the big events. But this was a little interesting, a shock, who runs Tesla AI, an absolute gentleman actually got to hang out with him as well. He came out to us. Tesla had a pop-up with the CyberCab in town here. So we hung out with him and chatted with him, very exciting stuff. Also, remind me to mention V14 Lite for Model S and X. A shock had some words on that as well. But it was a great event, little different. And it looks like, you know, maybe Elon's starting to put some more, you know, responsibility on some of the other guys on the team to run some of these events. So this may be a trend that we see continue. But happy to talk CyberCab. I've had lots of experience, lots of rides, and hanging out with lots of different creators here in Austin. Yeah, I, you know, I saw some of the videos, man, I certainly saw your videos. I saw Kyle, who's at everything. There was every day Chris was there. I saw John from the Tesla Owners Club.

Silicon Valley was down there. Who were some of the other shout outs, man? Like go ahead and humble brag. Like, who did you get to? Justin. Yeah, bearded Tesla guy, a Monday and Justin. We did, we did our cross country FSD tour. We did the first attempt where of course we hit the iron girder, launched the model Y into the air. And then we got the new update and it made it across really seamlessly from, from San Diego to Jacksonville, Florida. So he was there. Joe Tagmire, who does all the drone footage for gigatexus. He was there as well. Just an awesome guy, very broad spectrum of intelligence when it comes to Tesla and SpaceX. Great to hang with him. Sawyer Merit, Nick Cruz, Patan, these are big, big ex accounts. You know, they really pumped the news and it was great to spend time with them. So many great people actually. Jeremy Judgkins just really took it to the next level. This is my first time actually hanging out with him and he is a really good creator. Very creative, creator creative.

But he really appeals to the crowd that is not sort of the EV Tesla bubble, which is really cool. People that would know really in their day to day really wouldn't care about it. But he really kind of brings an entertainment value that's quite unique. So that was a lot of fun to see him working away there. There was, like you said, every day Chris was there. Kyle Conner was great to chill with him. And it was just a really cool spectrum. I know I'm going to leave out some names. But yeah, John Silicon Valley, Kim from Kim Java. Kim Java, fantastic. That makes sense. So we did, I was actually in one of her videos as well. We were chatting sort of the business end of CyberCab, which is an interesting angle. There's lots of different facets to it. You know, the idea of personal ownership, the idea of Tesla becoming a rideshare provider. And then the idea of people being able to buy into this sort of ecosystem of having your own vehicle, putting it into either their own network or Tesla's network and all that sort of things. So that was definitely a lot of fun. But it was great to kind of interact with a lot of the staff as well.

Tesla engineers that were on site. I mean, the event itself was actually, for the first time ever, the majority of the people in attendance. Maybe the signature event might have rivaled it actually, the signature Model S X event, where more employees were present than guests. And I was privileged to attend that Model S event as well. So it was really cool. Overall just a really fantastic time of everybody kind of, you know, learning together and experiencing it all together. And even since then, there's been a bunch of, you know, big names in whether it's automotive or just content creation in general. The fellow's name is slipping my mind, but he has a huge podcast to do with finance. I think it's a number three podcast in the world, or at least in America, like he was invited to the event. And there was just a bunch of people that I've seen lately posting about CyberCab, the guys from the Straight Pipes YouTube channel, great Canadian boys that were down, Yuri and the crew and they're actually down here right now in Austin riding CyberCab.

And then there's just been sort of this onwards flow. Two chains as well has been posting about CyberCab. And I'm just seeing accounts that aren't even automotive accounts. They're just interested in the tech, the experience, the novelty of being in a vehicle that doesn't look weird, right? So, so zoos and wamo, they have these vehicles that you look at it and you're like, oh yeah, that's some like computerized space should be thing, booting around. Oh yeah, obviously that's an autonomous vehicle. The thing with CyberCab is, I'm excited about being gold with like these kind of weird hubcap wheels. It really looks like like a normal car and you just get in and boot around and it's really kind of normalizing autonomous vehicles. So anyways, overall, it's been fantastic. Yeah, I've always thought it kind of resembled to me the old school Honda CRX in a little bit of a ways with the old two seat kind of thing. And you do ride share for a little bit. So they're red it off Volkswagen Shorako. Yeah, right.

Well, there's another, it's not the one that was the diesel hyper efficient car or is that another Volkswagen or was in an Audi because I saw a video recently on that Audi example. And it's especially the back end with like the sort of squared off where I don't know if Chris if you can find a picture of a video out of it. But it, aerodynamics is aerodynamics. So at some point, you're basically styling the wind, you know. Yeah. The, from a, from a ride share perspective, Tolik, tell us the difference for those that aren't familiar, right? Because there's a ton of people out there that aren't in our bubble of Tesla and electric vehicles and all this stuff. You know, I've been in the zoos. I've been in the Waymo. I've seen all of this kind of stuff. You know, we get to experience these kind of things and these crazy vehicles and been in the lucid and all of these cars that there's people that have still never even seen a lucid. And so for the audience out there who may be listening and is like, I, I'm not familiar

with this whole, you know, Robo Taxi cyber cab, all these different names. It's just a cyber truck. You know, Tolik, tell us from a, from a ride share perspective, right? What the difference is between what people are experiencing in Austin today, what they've experienced maybe in the Bay Area, where it's a little bit different. I don't know if you know the difference. Tell me if you don't all, all kind of fill in the bubbles there. And then what you do, right? And kind of kind of bring, being people up to speed that aren't familiar with the cyber cab as it just got launched compared to what it is here in the Bay Area and then compared to what you do. Well, to my knowledge in the Bay Area, they still have a monitor drivers. Is that correct? Yeah, still the monitor drivers and then not the production vehicles, which is what they were launching there. So we still got everything, right? We still got the steering wheels, the football that, right? And those are all model wise, which is essentially the same footprint as what I drive around every day. So they're experiencing, you know, the first time, at least if they haven't taken a

waymo, they're experiencing both the absence of a driver as well as the absence is what Josh said controls not just steering wheel. There's no pedals either. So that means the left side of the vehicle has all that legroom. And Josh is the one who's actually experienced that space with the footroom there. But I can imagine getting in there for the first time because I've seen waymo's go by. I haven't myself taken ride because I'm a little, I don't particularly want to give my money to the thing that's, you know, get a takeaway some of my livelihood. But I have seen how they operate and you know, you still see that wheel moving and, you know, I think some of them have a protective cover. I don't know if that's in the US or China, but you still have that. So it's like, oh, there's a missing driver. But then you get in the cyber cab and it's a missing everything. It's just you're in. My guess is it probably feels like getting in a Disneyland ride where you just get in and you're like, oh, there's no expectation of control. So I would imagine Josh is this correct for you to kind of get in and you sort of surrender wanting to control. Yeah, it's definitely a different mindset even from the model Y robot taxi without anybody

in the driver's seat. The cyber cab to me really feels like you're getting in the back seat of a vehicle with just a copious, almost like a limousine type of vibe to it. So it's like, you know, you have this chauffeur and there's like a ghost there that's just opening the door because it senses your phone, right? So you walk up door open, slide in and you might have to do his buckle, your seat belt, and the door closes by itself. So it really is more of like a personal driver chauffeur limousine service than it is sort of a, you know, your traditional ride share and that sort of thing. And yeah, this first feeling of it, there is no option to take over. So really you just forget about it and you focus on the entertainment. The screen's obviously just a plethora of different things, whether you're Netflix and YouTube and all that sort of thing. And then it gives you this personalized experience where all of your settings follow you ride to ride. You're even from your personal Tesla. We follow you into the robot taxi. So here at Tesla owner, you have your temperature set it every way.

You listen to your audio block and all that sort of thing. It continues when you hop into other robot taxi. So it was a really cool sort of continuity through the app through the experience. And I really think that as a writer, that's going to be a track of because people think we're losing a bit. Josh, it's a dollar. Are you losing or are we losing Josh on your end? Tohler, just that's me. It's just audio sounds digitized, but I still get video. Yeah, sorry, Josh got a little bit of the robot connection there. We'll keep talking through it and see if that see if the star link comes back on your end. The, the, Tolic is this the Volkswagen you were talking about. Is this the, the XL one. Oh, the XL one. Yeah, I'll just try to find that one. Okay. The, so yeah, what, what, what, what Josh was talking about there was, yeah, so he's jumping into the back and it's got the biggest screen that Tesla's ever had. You know, the, the controls. There's no steering wheel. There's no foot pedals. It's all, it's all steer by wire.

You know, foot pedal by wire. There's no brake fluid. The, the brakes are individual. We controlled on each wheel. Yeah, all the audio and stuff that comes from your phone. It all transfers over. It's just an, you know, kind of an incredible experience, I guess when you're, when you're talking about what they've transformed and what they've changed. You know, here in the Bay Area, it's primarily going to be, you know, model wise, like what you're driving. And then they do have some of the cybercavs, but they're, they're kind of like the prototype ones. So you've got these dashboards that have steering wheels and foot pedals with them. They're not the production models, like they've got there in Austin. So you see drivers behind the wheels, which means really only a single occupant can be there with, with that. With that driver. And it's, um, was there's plenty of people that only need a single occupant, you know, uh, taxi cab. So, um, but the big difference there too is that in that scenario, you're not talking about the production model.

You know, cyber cab that Josh got to see, he got to see the final like the unboxed. What's coming off the line with all the final wheels, the final panels that are there and kind of all that stuff. So Josh, I was just kind of filling in where some of the audio might have broken up there with, yeah, with all that stuff. Hopefully, um, it sounds like we're back with the audio there. If you want to think like where we left off. Yeah. So to kind of throw on the, the rideshare experience in terms of what I've experienced with riders. You kind of have like two camps like the people who get in your car and just put in their earbuds and they don't want to talk to you. Those are probably the people that are going to really love, um, having cyber cab because they don't like social interaction already. And so they try to have his mental and it's interesting seeing this evolve over the past 11 years that I've been driving now a lift in or Uber and lift started at 2012, 2013 or so. I hopped in the game 2015, which at the time felt late as I wish I got started sooner because the earlier drivers. They made some pretty good money, but even starting in 2015 to now to see how much the platforms have evolved in whether it's, you know, 80% of the fair going to the drivers to nowadays.

It's, it's eroded down to like 40% on average goes to the driver because of all these external fees that go. They have to pay for all this commercial car insurance, which is just ridiculous. Because there's still a $2,500 deductible if you do get into a wreck. But the, so to see the experience change over the past decade from like, in fact, not people don't know this, but in the early days, lift actually encouraged people to sit up front to have a more friendly engaging experience with the driver. They encouraged fist bumps. They were trying to be different than Uber or taxis where Uber was encouraging people to sit in the backseat. But because so many people took Uber, a lot of lift riders would sit in the back as well. So we've seen these sort of social progression and also, you know, how many people have praised rides are over the years of taking drunk people home and making sure that, you know, they don't cause a wreck or kill themselves or both. And right now it kind of feels like the narrative. There's some people that are really pro autonomous that it feels like they're lumping in the entire yearly net traffic deaths and squaring it on the shoulders of human ride, sure, drivers, which is just insane.

And so they're also comparing, you know, the more autonomous being more safer than the human driver. Well, that's against the average of all human drivers, the crappy ones always through the really, really safe ones. And what you really need to be comparing is autonomous versus the really careful professional drivers. And yes, they're going to get better than those as well. But right now I feel like rideshare drivers are sort of being vilified for the sake of just really wanting to have autonomous come as soon as possible. And so you see this progression of like rideshare used to be pretty social and nowadays, you know, and there are bad actors and I kind of you sort of. I can have a little bit of perspective of what police officers probably felt during all the, you know, when there was like the bad actors and the police, like bad rideshare drivers make the good ones. Like my I'm a five star driver. I really pleasant with my customers, but I'm being lumped in with like all you're helping to contribute to all these freeway deaths when I have a stellar driving record.

The only accident I've had in the past 10 years, I was re-rended while at a stop. And then my I've had a bumper of like under five miles an hour. So I'm an extremely cautious driver. But people like me are getting lumped in with all the crappy rideshare driver, which is unfortunate. And that's kind of a relatively new development. Yeah, I think the business end of this is going to be something that is a big part of the story. And trying to figure out how does this trickle down and there's going to be a bunch of different ways this gets looked at. And I see this with AI where AI on one hand is this huge thing that gets a lot of following the rock by the way as part of this. It's a huge part of the interaction of the vehicle and how you can talk to it. And there's people that just recoil man, I get comments all the time about man, I won't watch your videos and I just scroll right by him because you use AI to create thumbnails. And I'm like, listen man, I got Krayola quality, artistic ability. I cannot help you. I don't have very many options. I use it to create some thumbnails. I'm sorry.

I'm not talking about the videos AI, but that's the way that's I do use it for some of my thumbnails. So sorry. And some people I think are going to feel that way about these with with the robot taxis right there going to be like, I will not take a an AI robot taxi. And they're going to people that that cleave on to that forever. And the way that they say the same thing with like the gas vehicle thing right there. They're going to be steadfast. And listen, I'm not entirely unsympathetic to that because when I go to the grocery store, for example, I will always go to the checkout line, even if I have to stand in line with the person who bags the groceries. I go to a grocery store with it that has the a little bit more expensive because they pay their people to bag the groceries for you. And they still have the old kind of young person that is there doing that cashier role. And I support that. And I won't do it self checkout. I just won't do it. Like I support the job over the self checkout automation. Right. And so I get that perspective, man. And there's going to be people that want that social interaction.

But then the other perspective is that there are people that also were supportive of the taxi cab industry, right. And there was a union there. And they saw the freedom of Uber and Lyft as kind of undermining the unions and what the taxi cab industry built. And so there's always going to be a generation that looks at the new and says that's undermining something that was built before it. And I think autonomous driving and this kind of thing is going to be similar. So it's going to be interesting to see because I don't think it's going to change overnight as much as it's a big deal. It's Austin. It's a geo-fenced area in Austin. And it's a double edged sword. On one hand, it is just one area in a small area at that of an area that is going to be in the middle of the city. And that's not a problem. It's not going to be over night. But it's going to feel overnight. No, go ahead.

Even just at the diner, like the last time I was the diner, that thing is swarming with waymo's. There's like 20 waymo's hovering around the Tesla diner. So we don't really see as many here in San Diego, but LA has just tons of autonomous already. So it's it's just waymo's. Lucid's going to be involved. Rivians going to be involved. Josh, go ahead, man. You're your front center at all this man. You're seeing it all. Yeah, and I actually saw something the other night. It was actually late at night. A bunch of us hanging around after I think it was one. I think it was, yeah, it was the after party. And it was long after because robot taxi ends their service around 10 o'clock. And this was like well after midnight. And there was a group of three women that were not part of our party. There was two parties going on at this venue at the same time. Anyways, they came out and they they the one woman specifically hailed a waymo. She and the thing is in Austin too. There's an issue because waymo runs through Uber. So it's like almost like Russian Relative, whether or not you're going to get a waymo.

So she was like hailing a ride, canceling until she got a waymo because she refused to ride home without with with another person in the car. And she waited longer and paid more for an autonomous vehicle to take her home at whatever was one, two in the morning. So that is, you know, something that really is interesting. I mean, we're three dudes here, right? So it's a kind of a sausage fest on the podcast here. The reality is is that there are many, many, many hundreds of thousands of women who want to have privacy, who want to have safety security. They do not want to get into a car no matter how sweet or nice or great or clean history, clean record that person is behind the wheel. Man or woman, they just want security. And the stats are looked up recently with is in fact this year alone from January to now and we're at the beginning of September. There's been over 7,000 sexual assault cases with Uber and Lyft and that's just a reality that will be entirely eradicated gone completely with autonomous vehicles.

They cannot, they don't come after you. I'm sorry, it's just that's just a reality of it. So there's a couple different facets to this rollout. I do realize that good ride chair drivers get painted with that brush. But the reality is is that women will choose and there's nothing anybody can do about that. So if there is that option, they'll wait longer and they'll pay more. And I thought I'd never seen that before. It was kind of like a moment like that. That's kind of very interesting. So there are other people like me on top of the car, whatever. I'm rocking the lawn. But there are other people that specifically want to use money. You went robot on it's right at the end there Josh. Sorry man, we got most of it. We got most of it. Hopefully that'll recover. Kurt chiming in with a couple of things here in the comments. How's my audio, by the way? I'm still hearing a little bit of it, but I think it might be Josh's end. So this kind of goes into the also the whole whole ecosystem, right? The whole business end of this, which is.

There was always kind of this this fleet and rental cars after their service life. I see this on the FedEx side, right, which is after we would have an electric vehicle, we would always have a secondary market to sell it into. And with electric vehicles, it's not as robust as it is with the gas vehicle. That's one of the challenges that we see. And and so kind of understanding how that's going to work. With these vehicles as I understand it, I saw an email go out that you could sign up to potentially be part of this. Go ahead, Dominic. Yeah. I think this comments asking what happens to these cars when they're end of service life. Now we're talking about the cybercabs, right? And now are they going to sell the cyber because I this is what I was saying there. I saw an email that you can be part of the network, but I don't know if they're going to. Is that just meaning your personal model? Why or is that? Are they going to sell some of these or lease some of these to people who then have a. So I feel that I filled out that form and I tried, I tried to leave the business because you.

One you pick, do you want to be. Are you interested in being a fleet owner? Are you interested in arranging social events? And so there's like three or four options of interest in the cyber cab. And I think you can find that form on the Tesla website. If you want to bring it up, but there's also where you you have to put a business name. There's a field you have to you have to fill out a business name right now. It seems that unless you have a business that you can't fill out this interest form. And again, this is an interest form. This isn't even a. I'm putting. I'm just going to say that I'm going to put a business name down to buy a car, a cyber cab. It's it's like what level of interest are you at? And so that right now that's a signal to me that right now an individual person, like a driver. At this moment in time to not put a deposit on a cyber cover.

I'm sorry. There's just so much content about this out there. But what, but I don't know if Josh, if you can fill in on this. But from what every day, Chris was saying is that they're going to start off with the big fleet orders first. Yeah. Yeah, definitely. What can you tell from the form, Josh? Yeah, we can hear you. Great. Yeah. Yeah. So it here's the thing is that anybody who's been following Tesla with the supercharger network. This should all be deja vu. So Tesla built out their own network. They improved the hardware over time. They proved the entire business model. And now they have opened it up with white label superchargers to fleet or larger organizations that are going to put in. You know, quite a few different locations, right? So my buddy Alex over at Evie Auto. He's got a whole bunch of locations he signed up just finished the first one in Tennessee. Got them all custom done with DIY rap club did some really cool guitars of all the different, you know, rock stars Elvis and,

you know, all these different people. Anyways, kind of a cool thing. So this is very similar. So we're signing up here with Tesla from the same point of I'm going to have a company and I'm going to rent a fleet. It only makes sense for Tesla at the beginning, especially from a rollout point. Because obviously you're going to have speed bumps in the beginning and also this ties into Tesla semi and what they've done with Tesla semi as well is get a whole bunch of big customers. Instead of an L so you have fewer customers that are buying more units versus selling that same number of units to a whole bunch of different smaller customers. So when it comes to support and things like that, it's much easier for Tesla to manage when they have Coca Cola Walmart. I'm talking Tesla semi, for example, right now and with the superchargers, right, they've got Evie Otto. It's not a guy that's buying two stalls. It's a company that's buying, you know, nine locations with 12 stalls each. That sort of a thing, right? And then so then later on as it continues to get built out, then they start addressing the smaller customers as everything kind of gets ironed out as far as how does it operate.

The smoothness of the, you know, the entire network, the hardware, the software, the backend support, because they do plan on getting to a point where this is completely supported with AI and you have very little human input and management with their rideshare program. They want grok to handle everything. That's really the long term plan. And so right now they have that sort of bridge that they have to cover with human, you know, support, whether it be on the front end or back end. So it only makes sense that they deal with fewer customers. And I totally get that and that totally makes sense on Tesla's end of, you know, they want to have a big or static on. However, what I'm, what I want to address is that there's been this statement for the past five years or so of like, oh, you know, every Uber driver will be able to instead of driving one car. They'll drive five, 10, 20 cars and they'll manage a fleet and they'll do all this first off. Whereas I don't know if that's ever going to come in reality because one, as of the early stages, drivers won't be able to even get their foot in the door unless they have a business and somehow get alone for a lot of cybercabs.

And two, even if they are allowed to order one, they're not, as you say, they're going to be later in the pipeline. And so by the time an individual can buy one or maybe two cybercabs, you're going to have these giant fleets soaking up all the rides. So in the meantime of them trying to save up well, I just put on the roll out a little bit because you got to look at the entire size of the market. There's millions upon millions upon millions of rideshare drivers, right? But right now. And so to have a few hundred companies buying even a thousand that puts even a small dent, just a small dent in the rideshare market, like the pie is so big to it. Oh, sure. I understand that what I'm saying is like, even if a driver does get one or two cars, it's not going to be the scenario that people talk about of a single driver owning and operating 10 or 20 robo taxis. I just, as of right now, you can't AC charge him. So, Tala, if you wanted to get one of these and have him at your house and then AC charge and go out and send it out the next day, you can't AC charges thing.

It's the charger that's in the back. I'm told is a DC charger only. There's a lot of unclear things in terms of how they're going to be managed like that. Just because this particular version doesn't have AC doesn't mean a future one might not. But true enough. And there's a lot of questions about like, who's going to manage these fleets? You know, what kind of new jobs is this going to create? Or are they going to have to go back to a depot just because it's yours doesn't mean it goes back to your house. Maybe it goes back to a depot where it's also cleaned or it's also charged where it's got, you know, because it also it's missing on this one is it does not have the what's it called Josh the wireless charging. Thank you doesn't have the wireless charging that was talking about. Yeah, like they said, they talk about it. Right because it's still so early, right? So, there's going to be stages to it, right? So, this is just the beginning of getting the vehicles on the street within Tesla's control. And the reason why they didn't talk about is because they haven't sold any to the public yet. You can't all you can do right now is just say I'm interested.

That's the extent of it as far as the right share driver's solace like you mentioned, I can see a world where you know if somebody wants to stay in that industry. It's it would make sense to me for them to put together a syndicate where you get five 10 20 50 right share drivers. Everybody's you know buying a portion of ownership within that organization that organization then goes out and says, okay, we want 2000 robot taxi cybercabs. And they put the order in and everybody gets paid to dividend based on the amount of ownership they have in that syndicate. That's the way I see you know a sort of rolling out, you know moving forward is partnership. So, I think that's one person trying to go and get their financing for only one or two. Really the money's made is is that scale right so it kind of makes sense to me for a whole bunch of guys to get together and buy a whole bunch together. Look at Josh put and work together man. He is going to form he is going to form the syndicate. And I mean that sounds like a great idea but I bet again, I'd you'd have to have people like Josh to talk to right share drivers and you know we be kind of fun to collaborate on this Josh.

I was just trying to just this notion of the single driver is going to replace their single car with 10 or 20 and it keeps getting paraded and it's just like, I don't know, but as you said, there's no. No, that was totally the vision the vision the early on right there was a vision it'd be interesting to see if this comes to pass was that any Tesla with the right hardware. So you could drive it to work you could drive it to the airport and then instead of parking it at the airport and spending $300 during your work trip to to park it there or your family vacation instead send it off to work and earn your money while you're working it could go and work it could work a six hour day for you. And then come back and pick you back up or it could go and work a five day work week for you and then come back and get you at the airport. Yeah, the problem. Yeah, go ahead. The problem with that scenario is that a lot of people who dreamed of that as well, one would need to keep a car empty of any personal belongings.

And if you had to, they would have to real they would soon realize what a car like this gets treated like when you don't have a drive like you should see what happened to our cars with a driver monitoring, you know, we get gum stuck on the things people carve stuff in our seats. And that's what the driver present Matt, you know, yes, there's going to be a security there is a security camera monitoring the cyber cab. But that's already much less of a deterrent than a driver going like, hey, what are you doing in my car. And I have to care about your car if you're going to do. Yeah, you would have to have a separate car that you're like, yeah, this is just my, you know, my airport computer car that goes into money. So now I also point out this timeline keeps moving and the expectations change because when I bought this 2021 model, why I sold Tesla stock to buy this car because hardware three just came out. And the car is an early hardware three car. It has the Intel processor, which I would argue is a worse user experience than the hardware three side. But anyway, this car when I bought this Elon was saying hardware three was sufficient to be a robot taxi.

And so in the back of my mind, I was like, okay, one day this car I'm buying to drive with lift right now could maybe go out and earn money for me on the robot taxi network. And so this car has over 200,000 miles on it. It's on its fourth battery. That's a whole another topic. And it's and it will never become a robot taxi because it's too outdated. So I would advise people don't put money in until you know you have a pro and actual guarantee of like what your money is going to get you. So as of right now, we shouldn't be shouldn't buy anything based on a future promise. I've never done that with you know, Tesla is there anything like that. You really if it gets better, great that you should just treat that as a purely a bonus, but to to buy it based on what it could be versus what it is. I mean, always buy it for what it is in the moment. And if it gets better, great. Yeah, I mean, that wasn't a main that wasn't the reason I bought this car. It was just kind of like a contribute. Oh, maybe, yeah, yeah, maybe this car could. But yeah.

Yeah, let's let's let's transition to some of that because we're you know, as we kind of get deep into the podcast here and I want to be sensitive of time for you guys. This is kind of the ebb and flow and the good and the bad of the whole Tesla story, right is is you've got the you've got the Tolic story, which is the 200,000 miles. You've got the Tolic story, which is the potential of this amazing technology that never came to be. And you've you've got also the multiple batteries, you know, all in the same story. And and that is kind of the quintessential Tesla promise undelivered yet 200,000 miles is phenomenal. Yeah, let me say this. Let me say this. I get a lot of flat for this. Aside from that, this is still the best car I've ever bought absolutely. And part of the story, right? These things are incredible and and and shout out real quick to Josh West, right from the Tesla Juniper driver. Always great to see. I've got a I've got a 2016 Model X that I'm sitting in right now. And yeah, I'm just going to shut that out.

So, what are we out here? Where do we go? Security? Did you let's pull up the mileage to see what it is? So my last one of them, 211 612, original battery pack. And how many countries has that been in and how far has that traveled? This is the X. So it's, you know, we're coming up on a quarter million miles well over 300,000 kilometers. And that's driving around Canada and the US. Yeah, so and I've got two other Tesla's as well that are, you know, arguably high mileage. The the plot, I think is around 140,000 miles 21 plaid. And then I've got a 2014 S that's an 85 pack on its original pack. And it's at 115,000 miles now. So yeah, there's stories on both sides, for sure. And so that's that's kind of the whole story, right? Is that you're got to you got to know that you're going to get the exuberance. You're going to get the promise. You're going to get the excitement. You're going to get the amazing potential of something in the dream.

And it will get there. It's just like any dream, right? The whole point of the dream is to aspire to something that you thought was impossible. And maybe you get something incredible. And I you know, right? Well, and I speaking of incredible. Let's let's start. Let's start with the engineering of this thing because I think we've been harping on the business case lot. But you know, as far as I've seen right now, the only real technical video out there is out of spec. And so real quick, I just want to say the people that lend back, drive, sure, goes, oh, you ruined your car driving a hundred thousand miles. Are the same people are saying, oh, I'm going to go buy a cyber cab. Let's go run a million miles. Let's stop at the engineering that this pack is what designed for 500,000 miles. Josh, is that correct? Yeah. Yeah, and it's got a whole bunch of new designs where the modules are able to be easily replaced within that pack. So you don't have to scrap the whole pack. That's something very new for Tesla, even where the inverters and everything are attached where all of your switches are, your fuses, everything's all been re-jigged to be very easily easily serviceable.

And this is the first ever. We lost them. We lost them. What happened? Well, this is the first pack that we're seeing here. Okay, he's coming by. Oh, nope. Nope. Okay. But yeah, Kyle's video is probably one of the only ones that's really nerding out about the tech of this thing. I think other other YouTubers mentioned it. I think Josh has touched on it. But a lot of the focuses on like the business side and on the surf. But in order to facilitate that business aspect, you have to have the tech and the service ability to actually follow up on that tech on that business promise. So that's where I want to be clear that this machine is incredible. I think this is an amazing piece of machinery. It's an amazing vehicle. I just have questions about how it's going to work for drivers. But within asking those questions, I get blessed as a hater. But no, I think this is an amazing design. It's an amazing.

It needs a couple of fixes. I would argue and need some grab handles. There's a couple of minor things. But overall, you can tell the amount of positives that they've put into this vehicle. And so when you ask a few questions about like these, you know, like things that could make it even, but you're like, there's your questions about making it better. You get blasted for like, oh, how could you not like the cyber cab because you're a hater. I'm like, no, I'm just asking how it could be better. That's all. So we got you back. You were talking about the battery service ability. I think we lost them again. Wait. We're going to remove frozen Josh and we're going to add back live job. And we've got we got Kyle's video up to talk about the batteries and the other stuff there. And then we're going to talk about some of if we can keep them log it up, we're going to talk about some of what didn't work right as well on the cyber cab. Let's first talk about some of the technological breakthroughs. Go ahead and pick up where you left off their jobs. I don't have any audio in case you can hear me. We can't hear you try. See what you can talk about. I don't know if you can.

Oh, no, he can't hear us, but. Or Josh, man. Maybe send him a text so he can talk. I know, right? Let's see. This is this is an amazing piece of tech. And I think it is, you know, the next step forward. There's just a lot of questions of what it means for, you know, existing jobs and how it's going to actually work out because again, as Josh will hopefully talk about in the near future. Today is, you know, there's a lot there's a lot to iron out. It's not just because it they had a night of rides. Doesn't mean it's it's fully ready. Now I'm not saying it won't get there. Like people mistake that as well as like by stating where it is now. People assume you're talking about forever. No, it's just it's going to evolve the Tesla team learns very quickly. I just wish they would get more input from human ride shared drivers. We lose one Josh and we pick up another Josh Turner joins us not from a cyber cab or Robo taxi, but from the lightning. Where are you joining us from Josh Turner?

I'm in the lightning right now. I'm almost to my studio area. Over there, but. Yeah, we at least got the two Joshes together just for a brief moment. Now what happened there? I'm sorry. No, that's all right, man. That's all right. We were just we were just bringing up the technical specs. We got Josh Turner back with now we got the two Joshes from the vehicle. I think those are always hard to get the get the audio right, but we were just pulling up some of the, you know, the light bar signatures where I know it's got the different colors Josh and. You know, as it pulls up so it's got, you know, the breaking, which doesn't have any break fluid with it. We were just talking some of the positives of the engineering. We talked about the battery. It's got the huge trunk space that you're talking about Jeremy earlier and how tall. I think was Jeremy six six two or something like that fluctuates six five seven two seven two right yeah seven 12. I don't know, but he's a big picture of him standing up in the back of the.

The trunk of the cyber cab. So yeah, I think, you know, talk a little bit about the technical and kind of the experience of your first ride and then let's segue into. Again, like all things right it isn't working progress there. There was I know you had a canceled ride that I saw you post about that didn't go great. So let's talk about a little bit of where if it was a tolic experience. I don't think you would have had quite the evening with your wife that you had with the cyber cab. So not everything is tolic five star yet with the cyber cab right. Yeah, definitely so I'll talk about the engineering first really quick. So no side mirrors which which is interesting because on my first ride. The vehicle went to make a rate and turn and instinctively I went to look over it because I always do a shoulder check and there was no mere there. So that was kind of just a weird moment where it was like oh shoot. There's no mere like how not having a steering wheel and the pedals was actually pretty fine because you just kind of like whatever you're just you know just is what it is you might as well be in the back seat.

But to not have any mirrors is quite interesting. In fact, there is no way to see behind you bearded Tesla Justin and I were in the cyber cab on one of our rides the day after the main event. And we're driving through Austin the guy in front of us decides to hammer his brakes because he's at the last minute going to turn into this driveway. So the cyber cab also breaks very aggressively but super smooth. I really handled it perfectly well actually but at the same moment we hear behind us just crazy screaming tires. You know behind us and and I'm looking I'm not going to like what the frig you know because you hear this really horrible horrible sound. And your whole body tenses up because you can't see behind you there's no camera feed there isn't even a way to know if you're in danger. And I look at Justin and we're both pale as a ghost and we're both just like locked up adrenaline dumping into our bodies because we were ready to get absolutely eviscerated. It sounded like this was a really loud and long screech behind us and we knew we we just felt right away we are about to get clobbered in this little car.

Thankfully the guy ended up swirving this Mercedes at the last second swirving out and going around us and Justin saw him go up the side of us but it was extremely disconcerting to have no view behind us. So as far as the engineering goes that is something they could add really that you know just a little type on a on a keyboard to add the code to give us you know a little bit of a camera feed from behind I would really really appreciate that. So if any of the engineers are watching that is my number one request. Give me visibility out of the back in fact my wife brought it up and I'll get to that just a sec. That she felt within being in the vehicle for five minutes she's like I feel claustrophobic and I'm like really the windshield so big though side windows are so large she's like I can't see behind me and it's weird. And so I thought that was really interesting from somebody who is not a fan boy fan girl nothing not involved in this industry she's never written in a way most she's been in a robot taxi she's like and after saying that she said I much rather be in the model why robot taxi it is cybercav because I can see behind myself.

Like on airplane on airplane now that we just they give you a video feed of different areas of the. Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah and an airplane is a much larger vehicle you don't have a wall behind your head unless you're sitting at the very back of the aircraft but you have the option to choose a different seat. Well nobody's coming behind you in an airplane to nobody's screeching behind you in an airplane that's a. That's possibly rear engine either you know what I mean exactly exactly yeah so just going back real quick to the engineering the vehicle is an absolute marvel Eric and his team a shock all the guys the hardware and the software guys large you gotta give huge kudos huge huge shout outs even the way they do the casting it's like there's three components to it. I mean it is solid it is a very very solid solid vehicle the way they've done the paneling the polymer paneling with the color injection so very long wearing like this thing is built to be on the road all the time our regular testless are not you know you look at the paint you look at the aluminum paneling you look at the way the battery packs are set up the suspension setup they're not built to be on the road 24 hours a day seven days a week.

I'm sure you can testify to that is that with the cyber cab that's really where the difference was I was very impressed with the ride I was also really impressed with how quiet the cabin is considering it doesn't even have acoustic glass. It's just got single paying glass but it you would have thought that it does have it because that's the right we're at the event we were sitting there you know parked out front of the of the convention center and as soon as you put that window up it was just silent it was fantastic. So I'll get to my I got a full video coming out on this just in in the next hour to and my wife and I took the cyber cab on date night. Oh really quick before you go to the date story we lost you when you were talking about the modules of the battery for service ability. That was the cycle back yeah but we we got just the beginning of the battery conversation I just I'm very curious about the battery. Yeah yeah yeah so so the battery pack is the first time they've made it where the modules are removable easily and pop a new module in so you don't have to replace the entire pack and it's all accessible from the bottom of the vehicle as well.

Oh okay that's good yeah that's the part we didn't get. Yeah much easier to service the battery rather than replace the whole thing so if you have one of those modules you know carcowd on your tank whatever you can just take it in and literally replace one so be a small fraction of the cost both in labor and in and in parts cost to get that vehicle back on the road. And I'll throw a link to Kyle's video in the description as well and then Josh when you yeah yeah we I don't know if you can hear us hear our audio but can you hear audio they're just. I lost audio from you guys when we switched to this Kyle Connor video I don't know all lost audio can you now that I've taken it down can you hear us. Chris can you hear me. Yes yes yeah okay well I can't hear you guys so keep talking. I'll just tell you really quickly the date night thing was was very interesting took my wife in the cyber cab and we just wanted to go for dinner.

A couple things happened but you know watch the video but one of the main things was that there was a situation where a car door was opened and the guy went to just lurch right out of the vehicle in front of the cyber cab and. It really did a weird overly way overly aggressive behavior so it really should have just hit the brakes it was plenty of room we were doing 20 miles an hour. It ended up cutting the speed down to five but it could have come to a stop in plenty of distance we've seen several videos already where the brakes are locking up for pedestrians walking in front of it. But what the vehicle decided to do was literally crank the wheel to the left and just did one of these and just cranked and heavily break and turn to the left and through my wife's body into the window and she smacked her head and her arm and everything and got a laceration from the seat belt in her neck. It was not good it was not good that the vehicle way over reacted so there definitely needs to be some fine tuning obviously you know wait avoided any type of situation but it was just really overkill.

So that's one of four different incidents we had on that specific night with cyber cab we had two different rides four different problems but that's one of the ones that that happens. So anyways I still highly recommend it it's great it's obviously you know very much an edge case but you know more work needs to be done for sure. I'm going to drop and come back because I can't hear you guys. Yep no problem man I think I think are we doing the. Yeah he's going to come back he's going to come back and he's going to tell us on that video drop so he can see that we're just we're working out all the things here that's awesome and. There we go we're going to remove the frozen Josh and then welcome back Josh Turner to the show almost green and I have my mic and so i'm all ready to go now an hour and a half after I was supposed to be but you know that's awesome. We tried to delay it a little before you and we got you just in time to kind of wrap up the show we got we got the two dueling Josh is back and we got one Josh just joined us the other one just off and on with us and.

When is your video video. What's that sorry say that one more time. With what is your video going to Josh when is your video going to drop Josh probably about two hours two hours awesome man i'll go back and. So yeah yeah give me a couple hours. Okay we're going to add a link to your video will add a link to call corners video as well so people go back and kind of look at the technical specs on that. It's just really good stuff on on the on the cyber cab I think it's going to be exciting to see it there's just so much out there and we just want to give kind of a balanced perspective of kind of. All the stuff right all the great content to go marvels the stuff that's still to be improved I think there's a lot still be written on the story when it comes to cyber cab this is you know day one launch day of the production model. This is why you guys get out there and and do this kind of stuff and yeah the.

I would just add one thing Chris the fact that this vehicle actually exists in our reality right now and literally anybody in the public can go and ride it. That is the absolute marvel in in in of itself like it is you know engineering is the closest thing to magic and that that vehicle out there it's you ride it i've written it a bunch of times and every time it doesn't feel real so if anybody is an opportunity to come to Austin and try it. Take this cyber cab for a ride it is it's just incredible that it actually exists. Speaking of taking a ride where do you think the next city to go live with public rides is not influence or rides but public rides is going to be. I think it's going to be somewhere in Florida that's my gut. Yeah I think I think as much as I'd love to see it in in the Bay area because it's you know this is again one of those places where it was originally at and I was really lucky to try Robo taxi very early. One of my best videos was taking my daughter to school in the Robo taxi and the thing got a hundred plus thousand views and I love doing it I feel lucky that my daughter got experience day one when it happened here and that was really cool.

Father daughter thing to get to do that was just an absolute blast man and it it reminds me of of that that whole thing of the future whether it's going to be. Getting kids to school or elderly folks to appointments and just the mobility that it opens up for people I think it is a huge deal for the future of mobility in a whole lot of different ways I look at my mom who. You know starting to lose her vision at some point and will be able to for the rest of her life be able to get to wherever she needs to get to and not have to rely on some kind of para service to transport her I look at. Man who is it whose dad is blind I just saw. David Moss thank you how oh my god yes absolutely father was there at the address I mean what a powerful thing I think to like what what did you have on that. Well I did want to speak to the accessibility thing a little bit because yeah as as a rides your driver especially if you're a daytime driver like me I tried to do mornings through early evening.

Most like at least half of your daytime drives at least here in San Diego are going to be taking seniors or disabled people to medical appointments or wherever they need to go. And I'm not a special I don't have a special rating is like a medical transport type of red shirt I'm a regular lift driver and there's expectations of being able to take a photo wheelchair or a photo walker as well as the service dog type thing but. But there's no expect there's no like we're verbiage in the in the ride of like you must have this person in the car but if I didn't do that a lot of these seniors. They already have a hard time getting into my model why and I would actually argue that the model why especially the back see the model why is not great for accessibility there's no grab handle I get lectured about it every other senior season goes like why does this fancy car not have a grab handle and I don't know why I can't just add a grab handle. To a lot of times I have to hold the door so they can hold the handle to get in and cyber cab is lower than a model why it's my understanding and while that's great for being the same level as a wheelchair unless you have a helper whether it's a human or an optimist.

There's there's more to it than just throwing a wheelchair into the back of the vehicle and a lot so I think there needs to be more information about how that's going to work for less able bodies whether your senior citizen or whatever and again I think we just need more information period like this is like Josh said this is very early days and so there's all these conversations happening with very little information and people are getting into fighting matches about all this sort of stuff and we just need more information to be able to be. I mean have better conversations. No I think there's going to be different layers to it for sure I think row row of taxi sorry cyber cab takes a step forward in some of that with the way the doors lift up I think this questions on whether the door is going to get ripped off the way that it opens wide in some cases maybe it maybe it will maybe it will. Let me just say something real quick so I went over to the domain where cyber cab is static on domain on lawn display and they have a model why else sitting right beside it. Okay you wouldn't believe this but the model why L door wider way wider okay wider like like a foot and a half wider than cyber cab away from the edge of the vehicle I believe it's because the cyber cab stores so tall it gives that visual look but actually from the edge of the car to the edge of the outer most point of the door further in.

But not less than the model why this is why breaking news and hour and two minutes into the podcast this is why we had to have a man on the scene there eyes on this is why we bring Josh West onto the show well this is already second hand because I watched this live on his live stream yesterday. I'm seeing that you're calling me out that I wasn't watching his live stream this is bad on me cyber cab is a 65 in door this door is over five feet long it's wider than a tailgate on a truck yeah that's huge and it only sticks out from the vehicle like not even through not even like two and a half feet or something like that and then you look at a model why that's a 47 inch door. So it it swings out from the vehicle about 46 ish because you have a little indentation but about 46 inches away from the vehicle and the cyber cab is a small fraction of that so before the before the news again I was going to say how many rides you planning to take today Josh.

We'll see depends how long the weights are but at least a few. Single or double digits do we have an over under on single or double digits single digits single. Okay, some of these guys are blowing like a thousand dollars and rides and like okay. I already saw Brian was going to put a hold on Jeremy's American Express because of the number of rides he took although you can never tell if those are jokes are real but those were funny. But there's a few guys that were here from out of town I am fortunate enough to live here in Austin I can ride whenever I want. Whenever you want yeah yeah yeah yeah so you know when it comes to these vehicles right obviously this is one of many to come. Oh high from Waymo has the sliding doors which will certainly be something different maybe grab handles will come although they have always always. You know not had bread grab handles in these cars so maybe that will be something. You know that evolves eventually you know certain drivers or you know certain riders I should say.

You know we'll find their niche or their you know their solution is with this others will go with oh high others will go with a solution from Rivian or from lucid who are all working on their solutions. Zooks of course another one I think what I think you think that I credit Tesla for in all occasions whether this is with the model s or whether this is with the with the model 3 or the model y. What they do is they push the tempo right what they are is in my opinion they are showtime lakers of the 80s right they are the lake show right they are what what brought. The show to the party there what made the NBA famous they are what. You know it was the lakers and the Celtics you know they kind of made it this is what Tesla does is they bring the tempo and everybody was moving at a certain pace. And then magic Johnson brought the tempo they brought the excitement they made everybody else up their game there there was no Michael Jordan without the lake show there was no.

You know Charles Barkley there was no. Carmel alone right there was no Steph Curry none of this happens without first magic Johnson and that smile and that coming down the course with that with that court with that pace. And that is what Tesla is Tesla is the pace and and so I think everybody else is really whether they know what or not today they are thankful for what Tesla is doing because Tesla goes out there and just. Unapologetically are like here's what we're doing and then the next day the government is like you did what with who are you sure is that work because they self certified. And the government is like let's open an investigation which sounds. Bourse than it is it's them saying yeah you self certified let's go double check your math let's see if it penciled out and their engineers are brilliant so it's going to and then a couple politicians are going to the politic and some of the questions are going to be asked are going to have some hearing some people are going to grandstand some folks are going to go online and they're going to complain.

Tesla will make some adjustments some people will pay some money and and then you know obviously in Austin that's the right political place to do it. I think you're right Florida is probably next and that's the kind of environment that they will probably embrace and allow some of these things to happen I think California will take longer again because of the politics which is a shame. People will get in the way and slow these things down with unnecessarily so but eventually what's going to happen is zoos and lucid and weimo are going to learn from everything that Tesla is doing and everything will happen faster and everything will be better because of what Tesla. Is they're taking the shots right they're taking the body blows of all the criticism because they've got the budget to do it and they've got the stones to do it and. That is where I admire them for doing it but they're going to make a lot of mistakes along the way they're going to take a lot of criticism so if it's going to be in your video later today Josh. And people are going to give them a hard time but they're going to do a lot more good than bad they're going to do a lot more remarkable than than fail and and I just think that is part of of the process and that is part of what's ugly that's part of also what's brilliant and and I think if you don't know that by now with the way that.

How about they go about their business I just think that you're going to continuously be frustrated by it you just have to kind of know that that's the way it works in that in that game plan and and that's the good in the bad of Tesla I think is the remarkable but along the way it's going to take longer and there's going to be some. Remarkable things and there's going to be some. Disappointments and frustrations that will continue to go on I think that's my take. How many how many markets are they testing the cyber cabin right now do we know depends on just one way it sits like that I mean like they're running cybercubs in Nashville I mean they're not manually driven one sorry yeah yeah I'm talking like how many markets are they actually testing the like the design concept of the cyber cab on yeah 25. Board enthusiast said he saw him in Manhattan. We have a couple here and someone here. Here we go. Manhattan I see obviously they're in the Bay Area we've seen him in San Diego so I mean they're around but they're the ones with the steering wheel the foot pedals their safety monitored.

What was remarkable about Austin is that there are no pedals no steering wheel they are geofence but they're fully autonomous in there that's what was so remarkable their production production version so. I'm guessing phase one is going to be to do this testing for like it to like know that those roadways and those that market before it then releases my guess is one of those many tests sites is going to be the next like release of. The full unsupervised or would you disagree I don't know where in Florida they're testing that right now but if that's going to next market them imagining that that's going to be well it's going to be. Josh is going to be somewhere where the robot taxi network is already operating so you've got Tampa or land in Miami in Florida so to be one of those three for sure. If it's going to be in Florida and then but I mean the reality is that we could see it open up in Houston or Dallas or maybe even San Antonio that's true too just because that's so easy for them they're already here everything's already greenlit here in Texas yeah yeah.

And then just to mention to Ford enthusiast with my mom get in one I think she would man because there's a great video it's old you'd have to search for it on my channel where when she came and visited me I got her into the lightning and I got her to drive the lightning and and and she was she was giddy man she loved the dang thing and I did and they went the same thing with with my wife when I got her in the cyber truck she was she makes fun of the cyber truck she calls it a dumpster she does all the things that you know but look when she's inside it she's like look I can't see the cyber truck. I'm like I'm just a truck from inside when I'm inside it it's great and I got her to do full self driving and she was in this she loved it from the inside so I think like everybody man you put a button a seat they will love these things and whether it's my mom or my wife or anybody you know my kids love the thing in the back seat with all this stuff man you put butts in seats and I think they will do it including your mom take your mom on a ride and one of these things I bet she goes with you bro take her on an appointment together she'll she might be so excited to see it.

I'm not scared but I bet she's not scared with you. I think she would love it so and then Dr. Sam following EV charging evolution in Kentucky I got my man Josh Turner right here he's he's part of the EV charging evolution in Kentucky I don't know that we have time to talk about it on this channel but like and subscribe to all of us to to both family EV to charge positive to Josh 24 seven and of course turned down for what and you'll learn all of the things that you can do. About the EV charging evolution in Kentucky to come with power up America and there's definitely stuff going on there man we can't get into it in this episode though but feel free to drop stuff in the comments when this episode posts onto the turn down for what channel and Josh can maybe comment with you there. Yeah speaking of glazing Chris I was gonna say this earlier but you you were you were saying how I helped you out well when I was getting ready to actually start doing YouTube I was only doing Instagram really.

I was watching Josh's early videos where he had like the nice clean shelf and he did a lot of stuff in his house and so I gotta say when I was getting ready to YouTube I went out and so I'm like well I gotta have a shelf with some cool. It's not EV merch on it here so we got like a treat like a grandson or dad and a grandfather. The whole genealogy yeah so I kind of I got inspired by Josh to get going because I was like oh Josh was doing it well maybe I could do it and so. Nah I think this stuff is cool man I love when creators help creators and we all put it out there part of the community I know that's why Josh and Jesse started their deal is just you know trying to bring this stuff to their community to their folks out there in Tennessee and I feel lucky just to have been part of that ride and I try to bring other folks from the community along for the ride and just try to shout them out anytime I can and put a spotlight on them and just like Josh was trying to put a spotlight on his community so. And now I'm trying to let you fight toxic community and Chris's community so let's do it.

That's that's what's fun about it guys you know hey man we've we've had this thing go an hour and 15 if anybody has made it this far into the podcast drop a comment be like I made it this far I'll be curious if anybody has that comment here because I'm always amazed when people do. But we should probably wrap this thing up it's been amazing always to hang out with you guys I always feel selfishly like I'm hanging out with friends and these things could go for hours we've had them go as long as two hours before so. You know this is this is the fun of these things I'm sure we'll have you guys both on again on a podcast soon Josh take us home man let's let's have you close us out well. You're talking about me Josh or that Josh yeah yeah sorry sorry I should have specified Josh to clarify I think you mean me but if you don't I don't want to jump ahead and be presumptive here yeah yeah yeah let's have let's have you take us home I love the cyber cap I didn't get to comment on it at all I was. I can't have been involved with conversation because I love both of our guests today and what they're doing in the fact that Josh got has gotten to ride in the cyber cap so cool.

But it's something that I think that we're going to see a lot more news if anything just go like and subscribe to Josh West and follow his video that's coming out and now 1.45 hours because we're only to that two hour comment. But that's where like you know this this tech this this idea is I think Josh said it earlier might have been taller but like the fact that you even exist today is wild in our world but the fact that it's going to continue to improve from the regular test the model wide driver doing the full self drive experience that's already mind blowing to me as that exists but now that we're moving into a world where we have unsupervised caps whether that's way mo or cyber cap but a truly steering wheelless vehicle on the roads as wild robots is the next thing like the tech advancements taking place in the next two to three years is going to be you know generation changing and so excited to see that that tech come out but we love another conversation which I'm here for the whole thing to talk about what we learned and the next market will be announced that we'll bring everybody back and have the discussion but for today I think that's a great discussion and I'm looking forward to tuning back into the part that I'm in.

So yeah thank you for all those people that endure in an hour and 15 minutes for this journey it's an exciting topic so I'm sure it wasn't too much of a a stretch but like and subscribe to all of our channels stay tuned we'll have another great episode next week.
