D&P Highlight: Happiest states in the US...Kansas and Missouri made the list.

0:00You're listening to the Dana and parks podcast on KMBZ. All right. So wallet hub is that with a Daniel report on the happiest states in America. I was like these quizzes. I just bomb on these singling out the states with optimal conditions for overall satisfaction. Now here, here's what they looked at. A health finances, work, relationships and free time. Now you might say, well, that's not a lot. They had 30 different key indicators on happiness alone, including depression, rate, economic security, commute time, life expectancy, amount of sleep that you would get. Would you care to guess? Yes. Did you just say yes? I'm ready. Okay. Let's go with the top 10 happiest states. And you are not included because you printed the story. I'm going to say you told us on the list. Utah comes in at number three happiest. Okay. Montana. Hmm. They're not very happy there at all.

1:01They're not at 30. It should be 30th. Well, they're busy not doing stuff like this. That's why they're so happy. Um, I would say and I need to point out that it looks like Connecticut and Rhode Island are not. If they have numbers, they're so small, they didn't include them. Okay. How about, um, Wyoming? Why? Oming. They're not very happy either. Wow. I see. Forty third. Forty third. I just refused to believe that Colorado. Not very happy. Thirty six really. I'm thinking of all the health stuff. I'm thinking of the places I like to go and get outdoors. Wow. Texas. Texas is 35th. I'm going to stop you. Yeah. You're doing. You're doing really bad. I found it off really well. You're doing really bad. I'm assuming a Connecticut and Rhode Island are in the top 10. I just don't know where they are because I can't find a 10 or a nine. Uh, Hawaii is number one. Number two is New Jersey. What? Number three. What's that supposed to be?

2:01No, I'm with Jesse. I'm not buying half of this list. I don't know where New Jersey is. When we think of New Jersey, we think of like the tri city or the tri state area. Yeah. Tony soprano. Hey, don't get in the way of my survey. It's the garden state. Yes. It's a wonderful. They have gardens and beaches and the boardwalks and people. Gardens and murders. Great school districts. Obstuers. Number three is Utah, as you mentioned. Number four, Idaho. Okay. Number five is Maryland. Number six is Nebraska. Interesting. It's not for everybody. I can't find seven eight is Minnesota. How does Nebraska beat Wyoming in Montana? Nine is California. Connecticut is seven. Okay. Or Connecticut seven. We're one of the factors cost of living in here. Hawaii's economic security. By the way, if you're wondering, Kansas number 23, we're always in the middle of the pack. It's actually surprising to me. I'm Missouri 31.

3:05Hawaii is very economically secure. You're secure in not being able to afford it. Yeah. You're just bringing me down today. Oh, I need my surfboard and my Jeep. Well, Missouri made the list. That's right. You mean the list of like 50 states? Yes. It was included in the top 50. We're on the list. By the way, I didn't do the most miserable. Oh, that's going to be more fun. Yeah. Sam's house. Today, I wonder if Mary Beth like listens to the show. Is she's driving around and is like, oh, I'm do you know? You said like roaches or like rats when you go and walks. You were telling me. Oh, yeah, there's a lot of cockroach. Okay. Yeah. Anyway, top worst. Are they really? Oh, yeah, like tons. Okay. I'll just read off a couple of these. These are down below. I can't find number 50. And I'm scanning this whole map as quickly as I can. It's your usual suspects like Louisiana is 49 is Mississippi in there. Mississippi did.

4:06Okay. They're 37. And that's not good, but West Virginia's 50th. How about Arizona? Arizona. They're old, but they're still alive. So they were 17. Okay. All right. Alabama's 45 Arkansas 48. Alaska 47. You know, it's beautiful. I just don't like the eternal summer and eternal winter there. Night in day. I'm aware. Yeah. I used to live there. I didn't know that.
