D&P Highlight: Some say he did it. He's fed up and is threatening to sue.

Patrick Clancy Lindsey Clancy's ex-husband issued a scathing statement to conspiracy theorists who have been claiming that he was involved in the deaths of the couple's children. Quote, there will be consequences. He should sue everybody enough is enough. This spread of blatant and baseless falsehoods must stop. He said through his attorney Howard Cooper as attention to Lindsey Clancy's trial intensified over the summer, some conspiracy theories started to spread online claiming that Patrick Clancy could be responsible for the crime even though that never came up in court. In fact, he was the first witness to testify against his wife, which ended with a mistrial last week. Jerry deadlocked Lindsey Clancy admitted through her attorney that she killed their three children in their Massachusetts home in January of 2023, but she pleaded not guilty to first degree murder. Now I think all these people making these claims are absolute loons. That's why

1:04we've made fun of them for weeks on end. However, does it does addressing it not provide some legitimacy to ignore it, dude? You know what you didn't know, but if you've got that many people Sam, he's damned if he does and he damned if he don't because you got that many people saying, well, I think those, but at some point do you not have to defend yourself and say enough is enough? I see where you were both of you are coming from, but I'm with Dana on this one. I mean, people are online who have no idea what they're talking about. Okay, we can all agree to that, right? That these are just truly conspiracy theories. Crazy. Yes, crazy. And they're accusing you of the worst day in your life when the day that you lost your three children and they're saying you did it, even though there is zero evidence to back up what they are claiming. I don't blame. I mean, I'm assuming by there will be consequences. He's talking about defamation.

You just have to prove malice. You just have to prove malice and it is malicious. I mean, now where do you begin? Do you do you sue, you know, Marge in Southern Florida, who's bored and has nothing better to do than then get on these websites? Like he's going to have to find, you know, I say sue everyone in air quotes, but who where do you begin and who do you sue? You only sue the biggest content creators because Joe Schmohs not going to have a pocket to pull from. Yeah, I mean, info wars wouldn't even touch this. I was almost going

But I mean, even the crazy conspiracy theory content creators weren't even touching this one because there's nothing there. I go back to what I said to both you and day and last week, you all know someone who believes that Patrick Clancy did it. And we need to have a serious conversation about the aftermath of this mistrile situation. First of all, we've already seen a Lindsey Clancy obsessed woman. I don't even want to get into the gruesome details. But child has is now gone. And I'm sure is going to claim postpartum psychosis because she was obsessed with Lindsey Clancy. The child was two. And you're right, Sam, neighbors immediately were like, this is just like

4:10Lindsey Clancy. I said earlier, you'd be very careful green lighting that behavior or at least glossing over that behavior. And what was done in that case, or we're going to have a slew of other cases where people are trying to claim rightly or wrongly that that's what was going on when the unthinkable happened. And then we were at the lake over the weekend and we were in a cove just hanging out. And you know, you can overhear the other people party in and hang out. You can hear their conversations. I heard multiple groups talking about Lindsey, the Lindsey Clancy trial. And I also heard two separate groups of people make the joke. Oh, I'm a woman. I can get away with it. Because of my hormones. Wow. From the text line, I am really shocked and baffled by y'all stance on this. I can't think of a time that I have not been on the page with y'all. But to call us conspiracy theorists or crazies for thinking Patrick is responsible, I am just mind blown right now.

5:13I am so shocked right now. I'm even angry to some extent at the thought that he just should have stayed home. He was working from home. And I've said this before, when something like that is going on in your house and someone is struggling and they are getting care because she was, are you just, are you supposed to quit your job until you lose your house and you lose your livelihood and just stare at that stare at that person. I don't know what he was supposed to do. Never leave the house ever. Is she fit? Was she in a physical condition where she could not have gone and got, I'm not blaming anybody here. No, I know you're not. I'm not blaming him. Like could she drive? Could she go get on that, those myths? I don't know the answer to that. So she function reasonably, she went to the doctor's office that morning with her daughter and had a well check at the pediatricians office. Was she the driver of the car? I believe he was not there when that went down that morning. She was functioning well enough that she had committed

6:15herself at some point and been released. Look, the system failed and often fails new mothers. I have nothing but sympathy for anyone who's gone through that and struggled to find help or don't have the resources to find help. But I simply just saying this is his fault is, it's a shiny object. It's it's a response. My opinion is irresponsible. I think that the first of all, the people who are saying, you know, Patrick Clancy did this or he shouldn't have left the house that day and gone to get her meds. And I think Chinese take out or something like that are the the same people who want to believe that she is not guilty. And the only way that you can rationalize that she is not guilty is by saying, well, he must have done it and he threw her out of a window, which there is absolutely zero evidence to back that. And if there was, she has one of the fiercest,

7:18best criminal defense attorneys in the country. Don't you think that would have been their defense? If this was so true and so believable, that attorney would have said, you know what, we're going to offer an alternative theory and here it is. And he did not do that. In fact, they conceded that she killed those kids. Why would he his whole job is to offer the most robust defense, get his client out of what she has found herself in. Why would the attorney not have said, you know what, we're just going to say he did it. And I didn't. I have not been that impressed with a defense lawyer in a long time. He was good. Why do you think this particular case is so divisive? Since the mistrial, I've seen hundreds of postings about all of the men out there and women, quite frankly, who were diagnosed with schizophrenia and killed their kids, who were diagnosed with XYZ and killed their kids. 8:20I don't know, tender box. I don't know. Young attractive family certainly doesn't hurt the attention that this case ended up getting. And I said it to you guys in the newsroom last week. I'll say it on the air. When you see pictures of Lindsey Clancy pre-arranged, you know, she quote looks normal. And she's very attractive. And I don't think that hurt her. When we get back, a very controversial proposal, controversial on both sides of the aisle, by the way, where they are considering a new policy in the United States that would sort of pay, stay at home parents under certain circumstances. Oh, yeah. But there are some qualifiers. There are some qualifiers, not everybody who stays home with the kids would get paid.
