I learned to fight at school and came home with a broken nose several times.

1:01When I was 12, dad threatened to kill mom with a shotgun during a fight, and things were never the same after that. I stayed out more and more and was a drunk within two years. Then I met Susan, and I cleaned up my life. I even managed to graduate, right after we married, I was drafted, fodder for the Vietnam War. Three months after I arrived in Vietnam, the Viet Cong overran the camp in the night, and the battle was a nightmare of death. I was not the same after that night, and drugs didn't help my state of mind. My wife's prayers got me safely home, but I faced the bitterness of war protesters who became the new enemy. Life was meaningless, made bearable only by alcohol. Even the birth of our daughters didn't pull me out of my depression. I wanted to kill myself, and one night in a drunken state I called my boss and threatened to kill him. When I heard Susan praying for me, and I recognized the evil I had become, I cried out to Jesus to save me and felt a change in my heart instantly. Jesus set me free, not only of alcohol and drugs, but free of the anguish in my soul.
