It's one of my favorite times. There's that point in every summer where I start convincing myself, I'm going to be normal about football this year. Not as emotional. Not lose myself completely in it. And then the game start. The sprinklers. The smell of grass. The roar of the crowd. The toasting of Miller Light. Ah, that right there my friends. That's my favorite part about all of this because make it football time is great. Make it football time a Miller time. That's special. Some of my favorite weekends are built around football. Getting everybody together, putting the college games on on Saturday come back for the NFL on Sunday, order way too much food, and crack open Miller lights for me and my friends. That's a perfect weekend for me. And Miller light is a beer I reach for every time because it's crisp, refreshing, and easy to drink. Especially when football starts. When it's still somehow down here. 90 degrees in Miami. It's a true American pilsner that cools the body down the original light beer since 1975 and just 96 calories and 3.2 carbs. Legendary game days start with a Miller light.

Make game day legendary. Go to MillerLight.com slash stand by delivery options near you or you can pick up some Miller light pretty much anywhere they sell beer. Game time is Miller time. Celebrate responsibly. Miller Brewing Company Milwaukee, Wisconsin 96 calories and 3.2 carbs per 12 ounces. That's right. It's Thursday Thunder's presented by Draft King Sports Draft Kings, the crowned yours. Go ahead, you do. Yes, sir, man. Thursday Thunder, we return. First lead, man. I got my brother, John Cloud Dave Damage, in the building today. Did I get that right? It was it Dave's John Cloud van Damage, either way. I got a couple of football picks. It's close enough. I got a couple of football picks. I want to see if they get your approval for tonight's matchups. You don't brand. Look at you wearing the proud Clippers jersey.

Come on, man. You already know. First leg. I'm taking the Buffalo Bulls to cover minus 18.5 against you Albany tonight. Go Bulls. What's your thing, Dave? You like that one? I like you participating in that game because you're so excited about the start of football. College football is here, and it doesn't matter who the teams are, you got to watch your college football. What else you got? I couldn't even tell you who Buffalo's playing anymore. Doesn't matter. Just uniforms and money running up and down the field. Yes, sir, man. Next leg. Just like the owl comes out at night. I'm going to saw State will kick ass tonight. I'm taking the owls minus 22 and a half against West Georgia. Dave, whatcha think? A lot. A lot? Oh, that's very strong.

I can't offer any pushback on that. Drew, you can't do what you're doing in this last one. You just can't do what you're doing here. The third one, Arkansas Pine Bluff plus 54 and a half. How is it, Zuri? We are taking the points. You can't do that. And what do you think of that, Dave? You can't do that. I love the bookmakers. It's 54. How much do you think they're going to win by like 54? I don't know. 55? Let's find the middle. Now, the hook. 54 and a half. That's a different stuff. That's such a good week. I'm taking those golden lions, baby. You got to know. I don't believe it. Prove it, Missouri. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Before we finish up here today, I just want to say something and nothing personal. Koka, all-time bag job. All-time, like a historic gag job by you. You practiced for 20 minutes out there, 20 minutes thrown

a ball. You dented an intern. You caused me a human resources problem. And you missed all five throws, like just infuriating. And honestly, you should be fired. But don't forget it was Tony's idea. Oh, wow. I mean, over five, just an all-time gag job on just shitting on the show. Nothing personal next week, all week from Miami. Koka and David Sandes. We got to come up with a punishment for him next week. Unbelievable. We had such a good week too in the last day. I know that Dan's going to close his eyes and look at when he lays his head on his pillow, and he's sitting there and he's like, I wouldn't have an amazing company I have. And then all of a sudden, it's going to be Koka missing. Missing the throws. I just don't know how I come in here this morning. And I go from loving this company to hating it in three hours. And it's all Koka's fault. Antonis, it's not just all Koka's fault. But how was Tony's story? How was somebody more incompetent than Tony there? Like how does that even happen? Eli Leonard. Pfft. Pfft. Pfft.

Jude, do you have some awards to give out to everybody? Yes, sir, man. Of course, man. First of all, I'd like to give out the silly goose award to my brother, Dave, John Cloud, Van Damace, I'm a shaker. You had the Nick Collison situation. And you had that wiggle room, snapple. You didn't. Silly goose. That wasn't my mistake. Why won't that help? What does that mean? Wiggle room. It wasn't your mistake, but it's your award to take home, brother. I wear it. Next up, next up, I'd like to give the endurance award. To my brother for the intro, all that energy and excitement, Dan Levitage. Just caught his breath right now. I'm greeting over now. I was so worried about you, Pete, bruh. Our showrunner came in here and thought 15 minutes in that he was going to have to call for an ambulance because he was genuinely worried about my health. Shunner. Pfft. Pfft. I'd like to give the quarterback accuracy award

and come back, kid of the year award to my brother. This Tony. How did you hear? No, this is not. These award-driven valid. Well, three for six. Three for six over two days. That's 50%. If I'm shooting three, that's amazing. The live energy. Oh, my God. I also like to give the Howdy Cowboy Award album dropping tomorrow award to my brother and yours, Jeremy Tashay. Good job. Thanks, y'all. The whole album or is it single? It's a song, but that's fine. We'll see if there's an album to come. Hopefully, it also drops tomorrow. And the album has been given me some issues. There's an album cover. OK, an album cover for a single. That's how it works. There's a cover for a single. You see it? That's me, and it's totally original and definitely my own and not a knockoff of anything else. Real quick here before we get to the polls here, just I want to ask the question again, just because to put a bow on the last few hours of everything that's happened around here. When Kawai Leonard reportedly did not have any knowledge of the salary, kept circumvention that was going on per Shams.

And we just talked about everything we talked about with. Wait a minute. Why did ESPN run that story in which the Clippers were denying? Like, Shams is the most credible one there is. He's reporting something now that is possible if Kawai is just allowing Uncle Dennis to handle everything. But it would make you believe that Kawai was getting millions and millions and millions of dollars on the side and didn't know about it. How is that possible in a sane world? He sees deposits from something called aspirations. Like, yeah, I don't know what this is, but it's legit. Well, when you say that, it reminds me of the Otani scandal from a year ago. There it is. It is very weird when you reach a financial level that you straight up don't notice that level of money moving around. Well, I do believe that these guys can be so lopsided about not thinking about anything, but the thing that they have to be great at that they can get duped a lot on their finances. But when I pair together the idea of Shams is your most credible guy and he's reporting something that is almost

literally the definition of incredible. Like, what do you mean Kawai Leonard was getting tens of millions of dollars and did not understand any of it? According to reports, y'all, this plays to sort of the stereotypes of like, is he just a fool? Like, is he just like if it's true, is Shams reporting that Kawai is just a fool when it comes to money? I'm curious. I know that you just asked what is intended as a rhetorical question. I throw it back at you. Do you think that there's a reality in which Kawai was duped by people? I can actually believe it because it could have happened to me. My father could have built me in my early 20s because I wasn't paying attention to any of it at all. Like, my father could have taken all of my money. I was simply not paying attention to it. But I don't believe anybody will believe what it is that Shams is reporting here. And I'm asking you again, if your most credible guy is reporting something and now we're at the point where people don't believe the most credible guy, like, what are we doing?

Well, it seems like the NBA is agreeing or signing off on Kawai's explanation that he didn't know anything, right? He's the guy who didn't get hammered. So the story he sold seems to work. No, but it's not just that though. They can't punish him because they're the collect. No, because everything because of the collective bar. Because of all of no, everything that was covered today suggests that Kawai Leonard had to make a deal because there weren't rules to punish him based on the collective bargaining agreement and based on every they punished him twice as much as you're allowed financially. But because they've got a players union, Kawai doesn't actually have to follow the rules here. But since he didn't do anything, it's like, all right, you're going to take the 700 grand. Even though I didn't know about it, like, well, just take it just to kind of like appease everybody. Well, no, but the idea of a $700,000 fine against you made how many tens of millions of dollars? Unless we're saying he didn't. Extra, extra though. But right. That's my point. And all went to Uncle Dennis. That's what we're saying. Like, that's what Kawai's saying in a statement. In a statement, Kawai is saying that as well.

What's true here, Zaz? I don't think he's saying that the money went to Uncle Dennis. I think he's saying Uncle Dennis was the mastermind. And he's trying to make you believe he didn't realize that he was getting paid from outside sources. And I obviously don't buy that. Juju, let's update the polls here today. Yes, sir, man. But quickly to touch on your subject, I like to declare September the second every year moving forward. Pablo Torre, right? Yeah. You did. I love that. I get a man. Yes, amen. Yes. Yes, sir. In the polls, raise your hand right now. Yes, sir. And I think, oh, come on. Yes, sir. Come on, damn. Well, the yay steel outweighed the nays. So I thought you were asking for a vote of support. My bad, I was not opposing. I thought I heard you say like anyone support. I'll vote for you. He just doesn't listen. Minor, but only two minutes for not listening to the show. Disguised. Every penny is again. Cody put his hand up because he saw Dan put his hand up. Dan did put his hand up. The Cody just wasn't listening. I don't want to name it. Well, it's so interesting. The hook for the diary of a personable fellow

starts with everybody in the club. Put your hands up. So please show yourself out. How's it going? We got one poll. Two men are playing the box. Best see you, Jeremy. It's for Tony, right? I'm a mierdan. See you, Jeremy. All right. See you all. Oh, come on, for the thing. What is the poll, Juju? Sometimes dessert first can be great, right? 78% of the audience says yes. And that is your poll. Woo! So Dan, I know you wanted a mean to be here because we spoke with Pablo and we spoke with David. Unfortunately, he can't make it, but he did send me a voice note explaining what was going on. Your call has been forwarded to an automatic voice message system. At the tone, please record your message. When you have finished recording, you may hang up or press one for more options.

Hello, hi. I mean, this is Fibioa, EP of the Dan Lentang Show, and also CEO of Middle Art Media, and also Chairman of the Ruskings. I'm just calling you to reassure you that it was just a clerical oversight that you were not on the show today. Despite appearances by both Pablo and David Samson, we greatly value your contributions around here. And don't just see you as a comically befloom to a rouse from slumber and meal at night on the west coast in order to come up with a bit that does not even make the action so or post show to recognize your great work. I'm authorizing a salary raise to seven million dollars. Ah, that's my new bit.

I repeat my moves and then I laughed afterwards. The Navy some lightning and something happened in the background. I totally came up with this on my own just now and undefensed to ever do that. Seven million dollars per year for 40 years. And you don't even need to show up or do anything if you don't want. It is a brilliant scheme. I call it a no show that I came up with again all on my own right now. Just kind of kicking it around in my room by myself. Anyways, don't bother calling me back. By the time you get this message, the director posit will have already hit. OK, excuse me. I have to get back to the hop-top with Scotland Johansson. And Rihanna. Yes, ladies, I'll be right there. OK, OK, man. Bye bye.
