Daniel as the Key to Revelation

Revelation is not a stand-alone prophetic document. It is Daniel's blueprint brought to culmination. The beast of Revelation 13 combines the leopard, bear, and lion of Daniel 7 into a single composite figure. The ten horns are Daniel's ten horns. The time-times-and-half-a-time is Daniel's three-and-a-half-year period, expressed as 42 months in Revelation 11 and 1,260 days in Revelation 12. The Ancient of Days taking his seat is Revelation's Great White Throne. The Son of Man coming with clouds opens and closes Revelation.   When you read Revelation as a commentary on Daniel rather than as a stand-alone text, the confusion of popular eschatology -- the rapture debates, the failed date-setting, the Left Behind framework -- becomes predictable: it is what happens when you read the final chapter of a story without reading the earlier chapters first.   This arc closes with the integration. Daniel first. Then the Gospels. Then Revelation. The blueprint is real. The architect is reliable. And once you read in the right order, the ending is clear.
