Darius Slay, the veteran cornerback, looks set to retire after a brief stint with the Buffalo

Bills.

Last fall, the Bills claimed him off-wavers following his mid-season release from the Pittsburgh

Steelers.

But Slay made it clear he only wanted to play for the Philadelphia Eagles moving forward.

He ended up on the reserve retired list for the 2025 season, sparking talk of a possible

Eagles reunion.

Earlier this week, Slay shared his plans during an Instagram live session.

A Philadelphia reporter noted that he said he is most likely retiring as an eagle and has

no intention of coming back like some players have done before.

This puts an end to any speculation about him joining Philly staff or suiting up again.

Fans in the Eagles organization owe a lot to Slay for transforming their cornerback group

into a real strength.

He was a key trade pickup that paired well with other talents and helped the team reach

and win the Super Bowl last February.

Even with injury issues keeping him out in 2024 and beyond, his earlier impact was huge

against teams like the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Eagles had hope for one more go with Slay alongside familiar faces, but it was not

to be.

Now they are turning to Rick Woolen to step into that role this fall.
