The best of the Dave and Molly show is brought to you by Jewelry Design Center. We want to be your jeweler for life. Live from the New America studio and brought to you by Northern Equestrian's Orch and Casino. It's the Dave and Molly show. Welcome in one and all. The Dave and Molly show is ready to go. We're feeling good. We're feeling strong. It's Thursday, hard charging into the weekend. Ready? Fantasy football seems to be my bag, baby. Seems as though doing very well. She had one player and scored some points. You know what's funny? Me talking to my friends about my football situation because they get a glazed overlook and then they say, have you seen any good shows lately? Like, it doesn't. Yeah. Did you get to see any of the game last night? I saw the last interview. No, I by the time I got home and what? Yes, I just saw the end to see.
I heard that Sam Donald got hurt. I heard that the new quarterback guy. He's a cute kid. Drew Lock. Yeah. Yeah. He's a good guy. He may we may need him for a while. Yeah. So yes. And your guy, the only player that really scored any real points was JSN as they call him. Yeah. And he's on your team. And he gotcha up to an early lead. So everything's fine. Looks great so far. And we got a win. Yes. Sometimes they're not pretty. But a wins a win. And yet two stars of the game that were injured. We lost our quarterback on the fifth play of the game, which is. Oh, yeah. That's the game. And then the Patriots lost their star receiver. I think it was like in the third quarter. So football season is officially underway. And we have a game tonight too in Australia. Well, that's right. Now who's playing tonight? The Rams in the 49ers.
And I have a ram, but I don't have a 49er. I believe. See, now that's the only care about you. Now what, what have you done? You've made me, but oh, no, no, I've lost my thing. Anyway, I'll look at it later since I'm in the lead for now. Yeah, you're, you know, you've no one has scored more points in the league than you have. That's right. And as of now, I'm also my survivor league is safe because they haven't played yet. Yeah. And my, I'm so far good on the pickups. Yeah, you picked the Seahawks to win. Yeah. They won. They did not cover, but that's okay. A win to win. Oh, yeah. Surviving advance. Keep moving. I lost all of my, I lost all of my stuff. I was so happy football was back. I bet you were. I thought about it last night. More on that. Yeah, it was pretty, pretty great. The day started innocently enough. I was finishing up in here. And as I think you were witness to the, what I've said, the longer I stay in here,
the longer the day can become. Because then we get some traffic going through here. And so I had, I had a couple of conversations from our, with our friends at K HQ here. We talked about golf. We talked about the world of media. We talked about some so forth and some whatnot. Now, I left, but you were done. You were pretty much done with your stuff. Pretty much done. But then how much longer did you stay? We turned out to be a little while longer. Wow. I did get to hear John Fritz tell a story that was very entertaining. Yes. Very satisfying and entertaining. And it was a golf story. And you enjoyed the golf story. I enjoyed the golf story. Oh, I enjoy a golf story. It's fine. I enjoy a golf story. But that was funny. Yeah. He's funny guy. He is very funny. So yeah, so I had a couple of conversations. Then when I finally did leave here, driving home, windows open, another beautiful afternoon. And I pledged to my trusty loyal dog that I would get her out. We did a longer walk than we did the day before,
which was good. It was still less than an hour, but good. It was great to be out. And we did the walk before, like the schools were out. So it was quite her. Because my plan was to get her a walk and then do some yard work. Because I had an empty bin. Oh, it's a bin day. Well, it was only because of the holiday. It got pushed back a day. Right. So that gave me an extra day. So I mowed the yard. And I did some edging. I sadly looked at the fallen library. That is there. Any progress on there? No. No. But maybe this weekend, I need to, you know, I got to buy some stuff. And I'll get it. Everything's going to be fine. It's going to be fine. Not fine now. Meanwhile, it's sad little children. And it was going to, they were going to get library books. Yeah. Mommy, I brought, where did it go?
Just a stump. So flowers on the bottom. But all around looks nice. That's good. So, so that was great. And then finished up. And then I had to, I had to shower. Because it was, I was a little grimy out there. Actually during the walk, it was nice because I was, I was working up a little bit of a sweat. But there was a nice breeze. More of them a little bit. Too much of a breeze? No, not enough of it. I got a little overheated. It was hot. Oh, yeah. Yeah, it was surprisingly warm. Because when they dropped the temperature on you, then they crank it back up. It feels, I don't do well in the heat anyway, but it just felt like, I don't know, too hot. I felt very, very productive. But my whole target time was four o'clock. Because four o'clock was going to be the pregame for the Seahawk game. Right. Well, I didn't make four o'clock. I got done, got done with everything, took a shower. Then I ran to the store.
And actually there were a couple of people had little things going on for the game. But it's like, it's a Wednesday. At the time, I was all kind of grimy and everything. So it's like, I think it's just going to be me watching the game. But that did not stop me from getting a variety of meats and cheeses for myself. For myself. Yeah. And what else did I get? A little wine. Some salsa. Oh, I had a whole bottle of wine. Yeah. It was great. It was fantastic. I was very, very relaxed. And then just having a football back was great. Nadine stopped over for, I think, she got there. I think when she got there, it was 10-nothing. And then, you know, we rallied. You know, we were down and 10-nothing. Oh, she said it. End of winning the game. 13-10. Yeah. She's. I think that's what it was. Yeah. I didn't know that. But I, I mean, everything was great. And of course, I'm chatting about, I'm my own commentary.
You know, I'm telling what should be happening. And then it does happen. How much does Nadine care and or know about football? She cares. Okay. She had some Seahawk gear on. All right. Yeah. Okay. But I, you know, I just, I always like to say what? Even if she were to know and care, but you'd still tell her what you think. Yes. Yes. And there were two times, I believe, I would say something. And then Chris Collinsworth would say, hey, you just said that. And I said, I know why that's what I do. That's why I'm Dave's planning it to you. Dave's planning it. Yeah. So it was very exciting, although we're a little nervous about some of the injuries, but that's football. It's brutal sport, man. Yeah. Brutal. Dude, brutal. But, you know, mostly I'm winning in fantasy football right now. Yeah, you are. That's pretty good. Let's see how you do the first week when the ball went all the players have played.
The whole thing is you just keeping your guys injured free. Yes. Yes. Who does anybody in our league have Sam Darnal? I'm sure somebody does. I think I might have him as a backup in one of my leagues. I can't. I don't like when I close. Here we go. I close a window and then it goes away. And then I can't get back in. Do you want to hear the dramatic final moments of the Seahawks? Yes, please. And this is how it happened. I mean, the Patriots are marching down the field. They're in feel goal range. All they need to do is not screw it up and then kick a field goal. Then it's going to be 13, 13. We're going to go into overtime. Okay. But did they do that? No. No. They're quarter back. Drake May. Mm-hmm. Already had two interceptions in the fourth quarter. And then all he has to do is throw the ball away. But he doesn't throw the ball away. Oh. Here's what happens, Molly. Okay.
Hang on. Here is May. Quick look was closed. Throw it up in the air. I can't believe that throw. Song remains the same. Seattle Beach, New England in the 2026 kickoff game. Whoo. So what was he supposed to do? He was, I thought he was throwing the ball away. But he threw it and then our guy intercepts it. And then, you know, you hear Toreco say, did he get his feet down? I can't believe that throw. Song remains the same. Seattle beats New England in the 2026 kickoff game. Whoo. So what was he supposed to do? He was going to throw Toreco say, did he get his feet down? He had, you know, he just get both feet down in the in zone. And he just barely did and came over. So if he had thrown the ball away, then they would have had a chance to kick. Then all they would have known is kickoff. And it was a short fuel goal, too. They were. And then they would have been tied. Yeah. Sometimes mistakes are made, Molly. Well, as they said, that's a terrible decision. And I think I said that. I think I said, what an idiot. So it was like.
Like I could have done better. So anyway, yeah. So that's that's that's that. And then we have more exciting football actions tonight. Tonight's game is a Netflix game. Oh, yeah. And it's in Australia. All right. Yeah. So that was that. And I was feeling very, very good last night. And. And then it was nice because normally if you're, you know, if you're watching a late night game and you have a variety of meats and cheeses and you have wine, it's like, okay, well, then I got to get home and I got to do this. I got to do that. This time, this time I just stumbled off to bed. It's right. The beauty of the home cheese and cracker thing. Yeah. Meat and cheeses. Brighty meat. Brighty meat and cheese that you buy. One of those pre made things. I did this time just because I knew it was like I'm not going to do any work to make it better. Yeah. You do vegetables to adjust the meat. Just the meat and cheese. The meat's cheese is in wine. Yes. Perfect. Yeah.
That's all I need. That was literally was my dinner. And then Nadine came up. She made a big sensible salad. She had salad, sensible. I had a variety of meats and cheeses. Why she's her and you're us. That's what I mean. Yeah. So yeah. So I'm in the same boat you are. I did have in my other league and I'm playing my arch rival in the other league. I have the Seahawk kicker. And so he had two field goals and an extra point. So I have seven. So I'm ahead seven to nothing. Go ahead. In the other league. Yeah. And that's I believe. In fact, it has to be. Those two players. Your receiver. My kicker for the Seahawks. Those were the highest scoring people yesterday. They just were. Just one game. Because it was a low scoring game. And you know, not not not a lot of fireworks. But. Well. But right now. If we ended the whole fantasy football season. That's right.
It was over. Yes. Who would win? You would win. And you'd be the highest scoring team in the league. That's all I wanted to know. As you are right now. Thank you. And you don't have anybody playing tonight. I do, I think. Oh, hang on a second. You have a ram or a 40. You have. Oh, you said you had a ram, I think. Yeah. How do I go to my. Let's see. What was your plan? How come everybody's like. And they all are shadowed. You know what I mean? Like they're not. Oh, maybe that means they're not playing. Well, I don't know. I have to look at it. Anyway. So then I was trying to schedule a golf round. And. My friend Pete. You know, he will travel like three and a half hours. Come here. Play around and go home. Well, he's getting inducted into the Idaho. And then he's going to be a. Athletic Hall of Fame. Wow. Wow. So it's pretty cool. You know, the. It's their. The team. You know, when they.
This goes back to nineteen eighty one, I believe. Yeah. They they made it all the way to the sweet sixteen Idaho, you know. See. So we're going to be in the Hall of Fame. Yeah, the Idaho. It's the. I can't remember what the exact name of it is, but the. But the team is going in as a. That's. Really? Yeah. It's pretty cool. So I said, well, I'll give you a pass then. I don't want you to miss that one for the. You know, for the golf. But I did. I got I got a lot done. We don't have many yard days left. You know, I just. Can I opt out of the yard bin? Yeah. It is you can I opt out? Mm hmm. Every year. Every year. Well, I will use it for leaves, though. That's when I will use it. Yeah, the fall time. I just don't use it. know, sometimes my neighbors I'm saying, put your stuff in mind like that's that up. Uh, according to your co-manager, uh, you guys have the Rams defense, which I believe you've drafted. That's right. It's pretty early.
That's right. Of course. So they're playing tonight. Right. So you need, you need the Rams to sack the quarterback. Yes. You need the Rams to maybe run a kickoff back or a punt back. Yes. Uh, you need to, you need the Rams defense to not let the 49ers score a whole lot of points. Uh, hmm. Your defense can actually lose you points. How? If like the 49ers score like 50 or something. Right. That's not going to happen. No. Not going to happen. I forgot. I knew we had ran. I thought we had a Rams player to it. I thought we had one like a backup quarterback or something. I don't know. So I was like, home managers watching out. It's going to be a good day today. I can't we'll be coming in later in the show. And then we're going to talk more about the fair and it's our friends from Brown to still. Yeah. So we're going to talk about, um, gin and buy what you're going to talk about the speak easy and that we're going to be the first guest at the speak easy at the fair. That's pretty cool. And they've expanded it. They've got music. They've got all kinds of stuff. It's going to be super fun. Yep.
And by the way, uh, this was shut down at nine o'clock. If you want to enter to win fair tickets, we have four pairs of tickets to give away. Five, oh nine, four, four, eight, three, two, three, seven. Just text the word fair, F a I R. You'll be entered. You'll get an email or text back that says you're in. And then nine will shut it down and then they'll randomly draw four people to win pairs of tea. Pretty good for us. Yeah. Um, so yeah, yesterday I left you, uh, uh, I was very full when I left here. We had a giant breakfast. Oh, that's right. That's why I wasn't that hungry. That's what all I needed the rest of the day was the bride of meat and cheeses. Yes. It was, uh, it was full. It was good though. Not rosy. That was a good choice. But it mine was like healthy, you know, quinoa and egg white and, and all kinds of vegetables and stuff. And it was, it was very good, but it was very filling. So I left here, home doggy gets a walk and I had to throw some laundry in, but she, she just knows when I walk through the door that it's happening.
And I, even she just, there's something about my energy and I was trying to play it very cool because I wanted to do a few things I needed to get dishes done. I needed to get laundry done. So I'm just like, do do do do do do do do and she's looking at me. And when she starts to do the yawn with the, she'll do it. And she does this whole thing. I'm like, oh no, she's on to me already. I haven't put my shoes on. They do. The dogs always know. They know. So she's thinking home early, perfect day. She seems full. She's not cranky. Everything's going my way. Here's the thing. And I love my dog. But why must she take a dump in the most public place? Oh no. She does this thing and she waits until we are out on Northwest Boulevard and I know people are seeing me, you know, it's humiliating. You're picking up after dog. I know you don't have to deal with it. And not only so, so I can tell because she's really, she's sniffing. She's trying to learn to, it's ready. Yeah, she's ready to let loose. So, and we had already had the pig poop in the studio.
It was already a poop day. So we get out. I take her out onto Northwest Boulevard. We're going to go on the ridge. She used to have a place where she would wait until we kind of got around this little corner and it was a community patch of grass where anybody could go. Well now she's decided this neighbor, this one neighbor and there, you know, I clean up after myself. But it is right where everybody is zooming by us. And now I have to manage her. So I don't want her to go in traffic. And I'm balancing and I'm picking up and I mean, it was a, the onslaught of, it was just like, the amount was, it was heavy. It was a lot. So I'm picking it up, trying to get all the pieces. Now I got in the bag. So now it's the walk of shame to the nearest trash can. Right. And I've got a big old pilot crap in my hand and I'm, dude, dude, dude, dude. So we drop that off. Then we go and then she does another big. Oh, no, you have to, you have to, you have to, you have to, you have to, you have to have five. You're ready for anything because sometimes they're out of hand and you need it.
That's a double. And so I got to have a lot of them. We only were out for a half an hour and she was able to do that. But I got over heat. I had a black shirt on. I had shorts on, but I was hot, like uncomfortably hot. It was, it was warmer than I think there was some humidity in the air. Yes. So it was kind of cloud cover. It was good, good, good day to be outside. Yeah. So I got home and got some paperwork done and just things I had to do. And the plan was I'm going to pick up Mary downtown at her apartment at 10 after four. Well, it's 130. I've already walked the dog. I've eaten plenty of it. What happens now? I had a West, I had a West for a little while. Broke even, even. Okay. That's good. Yeah. I was there an hour and a half, but I'll tell you what, when you leave the West Plains at three, four, two, you hit a big amount of traffic. It's, it goes faster than you think, but it is. There's just a lot on Hayford Road and stuff. So I pulled up to her, she lives at the W apartments now.
And I pulled up and it's so crazy being downtown. I don't know. I've never known anybody who lives downtown. That's just not a thing we do here. Baby, baby. It's like crazy downtown. So I find this little sparking spot. She comes in and then we have to go to a meeting and then we go to the comedy club to see Ali Wong. She is hilarious. And the guy who opened for her is also a headliner. So it was like two headliners. I don't know what Mary paid for the tickets, but you don't get to see her. They both have Netflix specials, both the guy who opened for her and her. And she's trying out material. So that's why she's in Spokane. She'd never been to Spokane. So she's very funny about it. She goes, she'd never been here. No, she goes, I've never been to Spokane. She goes, so I'm very confused. I'm thinking it's near Portland. It's not. I'm thinking it's near Olympia. It's not. It's near nowhere fun. It is near and we're laughing. We're all laughing because it's like, well, she said, but it's so beautiful here. And they they liked our little town. That show was sold completely out.
And then the next one, she said there were some tickets left. But on our way in, we noticed you know how there's the arcade. Right. Well now in between there, I think it's called Lilac. Not Hang on. I got to get the name right. My daughter went to the late show. Yeah. She tried to get tickets for the earlier show. Yeah, but it was sold out. But I want to get the name of this place because everybody needs to know about this place. It's called Hang on a second. It's there's a bar there. It's called Lilac Room. So here's the arcade. Here's the Lilac Room. Here's the comedy club. Okay. Here's the deal. If you have tickets, you go in 45 minutes an hour before the show. Let's say you go in, you have drinks, you have upscale food. They check you in at that point. So now you have your seating assignment. Because you know, they'll say we were in Echo 9 last night. So once you come in and it's in order of how you get there, well, you pre-check in. So now what they're going to do is you get to go get your seats at the very last minute.
But you know you've had a reserve seats. Okay. You don't have to wait outside in the cold or in the heat. And the place is so cool. It's beautiful. So I'm looking in and there's a guy standing there and he said, well, why don't you check it out and and Mary and I we didn't want to lose our place. And he said, I'll hold your place in line. Go go check it out. And I said, what are you? On the place, he said, yeah. And I said, all you do. And he said, and I own that place and I own that place. And I said, well, I'm Molly Allen. Hello. And nice to meet you. He said, well, I'm Kevin. And so we chatted and he was telling us all about it. And it is really cool because that's the one thing they haven't had there is a place to, you know, you can eat once you get in there. But this is a pre-fun place besides the arcade. But the beauty of it is you don't, your place has worked together. You've chatted and he said, then during the shows, there's music. They'll be music at the lilac room. And he said, you can't hear the two live music live music there. And he said, you can't hear the comedy show.
Bob's your uncle. It was pretty cool. I was pretty impressed. So we were chatting with him. He's a very nice guy. What kind of food you have? Well, I had the Richard Pryor hot dog. We didn't go to the lilac room. Fire hot dog. We just ordered, we didn't know about the lilac room till we got there. Oh, that was all brand new. We were in line. So and we had a meeting right up against it. So, yeah. So we're looking over the menu and it was between that and like the Joan Rivers or something. So I get the, so all the food items are named after a comedian. Yeah, at least the hot dogs are. So I just, you know, so here was my eating yesterday because I had that giant breakfast. Then later in the afternoon, well, right before I went out west, I had a piece of fried chicken that I reheated from the other day and some slaw. And then I have a giant hot dog and potato chips and a non alcoholic beer because I was driving. I eat like what? I got to stop that. Like that, that's not. And it's just, I felt bad for the ladies who are sharing our table because it is like slathered.
They're just having cocktails. And here I have the stinky smelly, giant hot dog. And it was all over. I was eating it like a prisoner. I didn't care. I was very hungry at that point and I had like stuff all over me. I wouldn't say a hot dog is stinky and smelly. Well, it had onions on it and relished and ketchup and mustard. So, but you ordered it. I ordered it and it was delicious. It was delicious. So anyway, we enjoyed that. And then on the way back, I parked in front. I had to run up to her apartment. I got to see her apartment and it's cool. It's got like windows on either side. And the thing is though, it's loud downtown. And she said that's taking some getting used to because she's used to being out. You know, she was in the Indian, not Indian trail, but like really quiet. Her backyard was the state park. And now she said the cars that go downtown, those big with the mufflers. And she said there was some kind of music festival that went on all weekend,
less weekend. And she said until like midnight music is blasting. That's the only problem with living downtown, but the apartment is cool. And I said, this is city living. She got a little balcony. She said, what's the view of like with the balcony? She looks sort of south east. She's on the southeast corner. So across the street, it's just like office. But then she can kind of see out. I imagine sunrise is very pretty. So it probably comes up. I thought it was really cool. But anyway, dropped off that time we got home, turned on the game, but it was over. And then I watched the rest of that toxic love story because I hadn't seen the end. All right. Yeah. Now I know how it ends. And that guy's a POS for sure. What is POS stand for, Mals? Pretty awful shirt. Pretty awful shirt. Pretty awful. Oh, pretty awful. Dang it. That's a P.A.
That's right. So. So how long did Ali Wong? Was it like usually about an hour, a little over an hour for the cheese on stage? Yeah. We got started six. And I think we were out of there by seven thirty. And that included an opener. Yeah. So she was maybe on an hour, but we were saying with comedians, I can't take much more than an hour because you're laughing. You're actively laughing so hard. And she had some really funny stuff and some really filthy stuff. She's, she's filthy. It wasn't as filthy as one of the others that I remember seeing on Netflix because Ken and I watched one of her specials. And I remember turning it off because I was just like, this isn't even funny. It's so gross and so graphic. But this was way funnier. She had more observational stuff and and then the fills. And this was her only night, right? She's not doing. I think that's right. I think it was just and I guess she's never been to spoke and ending a guy in front of her. He was funny too because he he had never been to spoke and he was just like, he was very
very low key, but but he was he was funny. And he said, yeah, you're getting like two headliners on a night. And then he said, I have a Netflix special. So if you want to see like, I really good stuff because because this is just like me. But like that is really sold himself well. Yeah. He was pretty good. So anyway, then, and then I had to have a cleanser of a Brady Bunch episode as one does. And then, then I stayed up a little later than because I didn't get home till after eight all of a sudden, you know, normally I'm winding down and and I was still awake. I don't think I went to bed till after 10, which is late. Oh, you were. That's like a way later than me. Yeah. But I did consume a lot of football stuff. What all the pregame. That's good. Watch the game. And then I switched over to ESPN and then they always have the, you know, they have a recap. And then they'll have the, you know, post conference with the coaches and it's back. Football is back. It's back.
So here I've just sent the menu. So they have the Bernie Mac hot dog, the George Carlin, the Joan Rivers, Lucio ball. Oh, yeah. Freedom chips on it. The Mitch headberg. I don't know who that is. Richard prior is when I had the Robin Williams and the Rodney Dangerfield. I almost had the Rodney Dangerfield because I like sour crowd. Sam Adams, one we were on the set at K HQ. He referenced he had a Rodney Dangerfield line from Caddy Shack. Oh, that was a line. Oh, but it looks good on you though. That's, yeah, Mary had some, I think they said they were out of the Bernie Mac. There was something they were out of last night. And now I think the Bernie Mac, but they do a good job. But the nice thing is next store is a little more upscale. It's like stuff that, you know, I think that they've got a good thing going there. That's super smart, especially for the winter.
Well, I know we support we as a community, as I spoke in, is a very friendly comedy town. Yes. Yes. So we get, we get better shows than a city our size should probably get. But that's great. We're supporting it. Well, Tiffany, and you supported it last night? Yes, I did. Tiffany had us just coming in a couple of weeks. And that's what I want to talk about because she's got some foster youth stuff. She's got an organization that buys suitcases for kids who are aging out. And so I wanted to get in touch with her people and just see if we could, you know, partner on something or whatever. And so I met the right person last night. Yeah. And I was like, my chance to, he just happened to walk up and say, why don't you look inside? And your phrase was, what do you do on the place? Yeah. Well, yes, I do. Awesome. Then what are you the owner? Yes. He goes, and do I own that? Yes. And do I own that? I do. I said, oh, well, this is excellent. I said, I do a podcast. My name is Molly. Used to be Dave Kentemolli now. It's just Dave and Molly. We do a podcast because, oh, yeah, we used to do stuff with you and he used to bring all the comics into the other station.
So anyway, it was kind of fun. Our town is bustling. It was very active downtown. And when I pull up, she's right next to that. What's the sports bar has to do with? Slaps, shot or? Yeah. You know what I mean? Like, like Riverside and yeah, right next door to the M. So they have outside seating and the Seahawks game is blasting out of that place because it's a sports bar. That is still didn't get to watch any. Sorry. Sorry. See, that's the beauty. I can just not watch and win. Yeah. Well, good. Oh, it's good to have football back. Oh, my goodness. Back back in a very big way. Oh, and that that Duncan commercial. Yeah, it air. It aired. Yeah, it was on. Yeah. So you get to see that. That's good. Well, our friends at KHQ, they were, they were on before and after. Oh, that's good. It's good. Yeah, it's good night to have a Seahawks game on your channel.
And I did one more day of football trivia. Oh, good. Half of it is football. Half five questions or football questions today. Well, four. OK. Four questions. But it's not. It's like, yeah, yeah, it's you're going to need to kind of know about football. Yeah. Sorry. That's the last time I'll do this. This is just for the celebration of this. Since we're kicking off the season. Yes. And then envelopes of anguish later. Yes. Of course, yeah. Yeah. If we want to. The envelopes of anguish. Yeah. Well, I learned about the fair. Ken's coming in. Yeah. And then, and if you want to play the showdown, let us know. And again, as Molly, she's pre-warned everybody. Yes. There will be some football questions scattered in the ten questions. So don't be. Don't be upset.
Don't be upset. Don't call in here and say, I know. I don't know about football because you've been pre-warned. Pre-warned. Pre-warned. We have the news of the day coming up here in just a bit, including the story that we talked about on KHQ this morning, the loudest and quietest states. We 48 states in the country. In general, have louder sound than what we, what is healthy, according to the experts. All right. Now, some states are even louder than that. We'll tell you where they are and what can be done about them. Oh, boy. Okay. That's an interesting deal. And then there's a meal time habit that's causing friction between couples. It's something called eating fast, speed eating. I saw a guy in a car yesterday as I was leaving the casino and he had some noodles of some sort. And he was in his car and while driving.
No, no, no, he was parked in front and he kids in the back. They were waiting for somebody and you know how I joke about the shoveling the prisoner. He's seriously. Yeah. Like he was his next bite was coming before he even got the rest. He was like, it was a shovel and I thought, well, where is he going? What is happening with him? He seems like he's panning but talk about fast eating. Yeah. That was. I think it's causing problems in America's households. Okay. We'll report you can decide. All right. And then Dennis say not to make these mistakes while brushing your teeth. Great. Now we're going to add up too. Yeah. A lot of stuff we mess up. Got some other cool stuff too in the news of the day. So we will get to that. Ken will be joining us today to clock. Yeah. So we're going to have our visitor from the fair. That'll be early around 730 right? Okay. And no pig poop today. If you haven't seen the pig from yesterday, go back and download it on YouTube or whatever. But there's quite a scene in here.
Yes. And as soon as we get off the air, our friend Ken, who's the maintenance person here, he, he greeted me with a candle. I saw. Yeah. I think he heard us talking about it. I think he saw. And he saw my urgent email that said, do you have any lie salt? And there was a little bit of a smell in here. Yeah. But there was no pig droppings that hit anywhere on the carpet. Because the pig was in a giant wagon type thing. Right. But she peed in, you know, she did all of the stuff that she does. But she was cute. And she was eating carrots and stuff. And so, but today we're going to talk about alcohol. Yeah. That's a little way better. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe they'll have some samples. We can have off the air. Yeah. Get all tanked up on Thursday. Sure. Really have one more day to make it through the week. And then another three day weekend for us. Isn't it beautiful? Programming note, three day weekend for us. Sorry. We're off on that. It's what's happening. All right.
Let's do a break here. When we come back, we'll get to the news of the day. Again, we'll talk about the interstate fair, which opens tomorrow. That's pretty cool. We'll get to that. Ken will join us in the eight o'clock hour as well. This is the David Mollyshow from the New America studio. We now return to the David Mollyshow. Hey, welcome back everybody. David Mollyshow continues. It's Thursday. Hard charging into the weekend. Yes. Three day weekend for us. Three day weekend. I have an update on our walk situation. Oh. Well, the good news is you and I'll be there. Okay. John's going to be there. Okay. H will be there. Ken will be there. We're going to miss the casino. We need more walkers.
You can't. Oh, yeah. That doesn't surprise me. No. You don't think people want to walk eight and a half miles through? No. Questionable areas. No. I was. I remember I think I said. I don't even know if I said it on the air, but I know I said it in the studio that if we have four or five people, I'll be. You know, we have four or five people. Well, that's that's that. I believe that is fine. I think more people will come walk with us. And then I'm thinking, what if we shift it? What if we just make it a party bus now? And the people who didn't sign up are going to go, wait. I thought it was walking. I didn't want to do that, but I do want the party bus. Well, two latest just five of us on the party bus. Woo. No, we got a walk. That's part of the deal. I think it still can't fail on the walking. I also think that there's still time because people want to look for the weather. They want to make sure. Oh, could be. So anyway, it's free to sign up. You go to davidmollymarch.com and you can sign up for free. I think 10 would be a high number for the, you know, to, to, to, because it's a commitment.
It is. It is. And it's the middle of the week. It's Wednesday, September 23rd, you know, and like from like noon to three. Yeah. And it's eight and a half miles of walking. It could be great. I'm a little concerned about my foot, but others and that everything's fine. I think I got a backup golf cart would be good. Just in case. She probably some lime scooters along the way. Things. That's a good idea. Things get really rough. That's a good idea. No, it'll be fun. I'm excited. It's going to be great. Just a reminder. I just got a text from Tiffany, which is why she just, you know, she said it's a, here's your Yehoo list. It's a thing. So people are committed. That's good. Great. We'll talk about the news the day. This is what we talked about on K HQ this morning, what they call the loudest and quietest states in America. New studies set out to find which states have noise issues. Well, spoiler alert, almost all of them do. Really?
Almost every state is too loud by the, what they call the like a EPA standard for noise. The hotness. Yeah. They analyzed national transportation noise data to determine which states were the loudest. This would be cars, trains, planes. They also reviewed average noise levels by postal codes. Not just traffic. It includes everything fireworks, entertainment, sports, construction. Oh, yeah. They found that the big state of Texas, not only one of the larger states, it's also the loudest. See, I would have thought just by just because in New York City alone, that New York would be the loudest because it is. If you haven't been in New York in a long time and you go stay at a hotel in Manhattan, you forget how loud it is. Right. And it's all night long. It never stops. But here's what I would say. Yes. Because I lived in New York for a while, but I didn't live in the city.
Right. There's other parts of New York. I don't know why I'm very, very quiet. So maybe it balances it out. New York is still, I think, it's in the top 10 of loudness. But it's Texas, Nevada. That makes sense. Maybe Las Vegas. Las Vegas is another place. It's just crazy all the time. California, Illinois, Florida. Here's the thing about Las Vegas that I appreciate is that when you were in your hotel room, it is soundproof. That yes. It's such a good job there. You never know what's going on down. And other cities don't do that. I remember being in Chicago. We were on the 15th or 16th floor and we could hear down. It was four in the morning. We could go to the fly home. We could hear somebody having an argument down at the front of the hotel. Oh. You could hear them all the way up, which is different. I think in Vegas, they knew like we got to soundproof everything. Because otherwise nobody asleep. And you got to get them asleep. You can wake up and spend money in the morning.
That's right. That's all part of their plan. Connecticut is the quietest state in the country. Who knew that? That one, I wouldn't have guessed, but Vermont, New Hampshire, Montana, those were all quiet or states and they show up on the, that to me makes sense. Montana makes total sense. Big sky country, you know. Yes. Beautiful there. Don't you want to know the things that Dennis may not tell you, but you should know so you don't make a brushing mistakes? Yes. Got it right here. Okay. Okay. Number one, not brushing for a full two minutes. You're supposed to do a two minutes total. Yes. And at least 30 seconds in each quadrant. And if you have one of those fancy time, you know, electric, it'll time it for you. So you'll do. Oh, really? And it goes. And you go to the next quadrant and it goes, you do, you do, you do, and it shuts off. Wow. I didn't know that. Those are the really fancy ones. Yeah. Forgetting to brush your teeth before bed at night is the most important time to brush your teeth because at night we make less saliva, which helps to neutralize the acid.
So nighttime brushing extra important. Yes. I cannot sleep if I don't brush my teeth. Oh, boy. That's part of my routine, part of my ritual. Absolutely. Yeah. Rinsing after brushing. I've heard this, but I cannot have a hard time with this. I've heard that you should leave it. And sometimes I'll get the special, like, I don't know, it's a special toothpaste that has extra. What's the stuff that helps fight cavities? All right. Yeah. And then they say, don't rinse, put your mouth guard because I have retainers. They said, just leave it and then put your retainers and let it all soak in hard to do. I find it hard to do. I like to rinse clean. Yeah, I do too. There's another one on here that's weird to me too. We'll get to that in a minute. Missing parts of your teeth. They say you need to brush the front sides back and the chewing area. Plack hides everywhere. Yes. There's no way you must get all the black out.
And then they say, flossing after you brush. See, I disagree with that. I do too. Ken does it afterwards. I think that is wrong. I think you could floss after as well, but I definitely think you've got to give a good floss before you brush. They say before is, I think this is saying, do it twice, which I don't know. I don't get that. The most important time to floss is before. Oh, okay. That part is good, but they're also talking about an after thing too. And I just don't do that. Well, I can see sometimes if you feel, you know, I've done different dental work in those little places that I know food can get trapped. So I have to pay certain attention to that. So sometimes I'll go back to those areas and make sure everything got out. But, but, but you always floss before you brush, right? See, but then Ken does it after. I think that's it. Well, this is saying it like like twice in the same session.
And I don't. Well, it's a lot. You're asking a lot, people. And then another thing, forgetting to clean your tongue. The tongue holds lots of bacteria. So don't forget about the tongue. Clean the tongue. Oh, he's got the tongue. And they say recommend they recommend a stop chewing sugary gum. Yeah. They suggest switching to a sugar free gum instead. You know what? I really. I used to chew lots of gum. I can count the amount of pieces of gum I've had in the last five years. And it's I mean, maybe I chew gum three times a year, maybe. I just don't chew gum. And I used to chew it all. I had to have a thing of extra. The that minty, the one with the crystals in it. Like I always had gum with me. And I just don't. I'm a gum person. Yeah. But you have the special gum. I have the special gum. That's different. And collize a gum, sure. Yeah, she likes gum. She's gum all the time. But I think I do think the sugar free gum is actually good for you.
I think it it like it works stuff out of your teeth. Yeah. Everything. If it's but not the sugary kind. Yeah, well, now we know, I guess we've been screwing that up too. These people. You want to know what's what's causing problems in American marriages right now? Yes, Dave. You help me because you've had so many. Yeah. No, there's something it's eating speed. Okay. And it's the it's the difference in you're supposed to have a partner that eats in the same time frame that you do. Right. And like the classic case that they say is a problem is and they're picking on the guys. The guy eats so fast and then he's just sitting there well. His partner is eating slower and that's that causes friction. They say. Oh, yes. Who saw that coming? I can I can see that being a problem. I can and I are really good match that way, which is great because we're usually watching a show.
And sometimes he's even a little slower than I am. And I'm a pretty slow eater. But but we match up well. But I in one of my previous administrations not only would the food be gone, but the take the plate would be in the sink and the person would be on the couch watching TV. And I'm still eating. Oh, that didn't go over well. Did it wasn't the best. Wasn't the best. Previous administration. Yeah. That means that's no longer an existence. Yeah. And it wasn't just me sitting at that it was at a time where I had lots of. No bodies in the house. So it wasn't like I was just left by myself. But that person exited and went back to the TV and it was like. So I should just clean a cook. Oh, I got it. Let me know no, no, let me just. No, no, no, no, no, you're, you're fine. The new article talks about eating speed and it's gaps in relationships where one person essentially scarfs down their meal while the other person takes leisurely bites.
Small gaps they say aren't noticeable, especially if the meal is stretched out, but the bigger gaps can disrupt the vibe and the comfort level at the dinner table. That's then that's they say it is a thing. My mom tells a story about my, my grandma was an etiquette teacher. So she was very proper. Well, I guess you should always know that. My mom's mom. So she would have everything set and my grandpa worked in a tire shop. You know, he was tired. He was hungry. And he just wanted food in his belly. And there's six wild trivaltor kids, right? So my grandma would sit down and the meal would be there and it was like. Like a free fall and she just. Wait, having her little bites and my mom said she felt bad because it was just that it was never the, the, the, it was wild. It was pack wild dogs is what they were. And they just would devour everything. She'd be sitting there, but Jack Bannon was the slowest eater I've ever been around. And he back in the day when you could light up a cigarette at your own dining room table.
This has been the eighties. He'd say, please smoke. I'm just going to finish. We're like, because usually you never smoke while somebody's eating. That was kind of etiquette thing too. And we're like, okay, because he would just, he, he enjoyed every single bite. They say that that's what you're supposed to do. So much better for him. And, and you usually it's thinner people that are doing that. Jack Bannon. Me. He was healthy. He chewed. He chewed every bite. He enjoyed everybody. He enjoyed everybody. And he chewed it down to, he didn't swallow big chunks of stuff. The end of my brother eats fast. So that was always like I'm fast too. Yeah. I'm kind of middle of the road. I can't eat super fast, but I'm also not like. I don't know. I don't know. They say eating at different paces could indicate a necessary balance in the relationship, where one person may move through the world a little more slowly while the other may go with a little more vigor.
Yes. And they say a lot of it is about conversation too. Yeah. If you guys are eating at the same rate, you're able to communicate better. Yeah. It might be a thing. I have a girlfriend who can eat it shockingly fast rate. And if it's we're all there and it's like, oh, shockingly fast. Like, oh, the plates being handed off. I'm shocked. I'm like, oh, my God. What happened? From a girl, it's interesting because usually that's not the case. Usually the poison. That's it. Yes, a stereotype that would be absolutely agree upon. Yeah. That hot dog got in me pretty fast. Although, you know, at the comedy club, how they do it is that there's four seats at a table. But Mary and I were in the front seats and then these other two gals were in the back seat. So it's a square table. So we're both. So when I went to take a bite, my head's going in front of the person, you know, she's sitting sort of here.
They can't not see you. Right. And I was really trying to be considerate of the, I just from her perspective, I thought what she's seeing is this massive amount of stuff on top of a smelly hot dog. And then me scooping up the extras with the chips and the chips are kind of loud. And then the hot dog is messy. And I'm in her space. How far were you from the stage? We were at the front of the second at the walkway. You know the walkway that divides it. So there's maybe eight tables or maybe eight or nine deep. And then we're the back. Actually, we were the ninth back because we were echo nine or something like that. So we were then there was people behind us. So we got pretty good. See there's nobody like we had total leg room and stuff in front of us. But those servers work their butts off, man. And they have to do it fast and they have to be. And they got a B.K. Love to stay low while they're delivering stuff. They have to stay low. They have to be quiet. And then they do like the.
Okay, it's anybody. You know, they're doing this to everybody. And then they have to get because the turnover, they got to turn that out. They got to turn that whole place around for the next show. Yeah, they get everybody the heck out of there. Pretty good machine they have going there. I'm it's a they did do a good job at that place. But anyway, I ate the dog faster than I would have because I wanted to put her out of her misery. I wanted that part of the show to end for her. The hot dog. It was really good though. Here was a deal on social media yesterday. Some common knowledge that people got wrong. Okay. Penguins are birds. Apparently some people thought penguins were in the fish family. Oh. And we're not going to I'm not going to judge any of these because there's there's a couple on here that's like. Oh, I didn't know that. Oh, okay. All right. But that's one thing. Well, you know, I kind of knew that one. Yeah.
The Beatles, the band, the Beatles is a play on the word beat. Like a beetle, a bug. Yeah. Is spelled differently. Oh, right. Like beat, like beetles. Right. It was the keeping the beat. So that was that was just the way they did that. Got it. So that's that's kind of because beetles, the Beatles be eat. Right. Said be it be a be at least. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Pineapples grow from plants on the ground and not on trees. Okay. A lot of here's the one I didn't know. See if you know it. Okay. That's a good idea that chicken tenders are short for. Chicken. I don't know.
Chicken tenderloins. Oh, yes. Yeah. No idea. I didn't know that. Pickles are cucumbers. Okay. Yeah, so we do that. Raindeers are real animals, not just sand and s helpers. Yes. I went to a reindeer farm one time. They're cute. Yeah. And they gave you like a little bowl full of food to feed them. Well the thing is they swarm. Like you're trapped. You're in a sea of reindeer. And they are aggressive little creatures. Oh my gosh. And there's another one. Maybe you know this from your world of horses. Ponies are not baby horses. Right. They're breed. Yeah. I don't think a lot of people know that. Really? Yeah. But they never get bigger. Ponies stay the same. Well, but if you don't know that and you only see them, you don't know.
You're gone. You're only going to see them one time. You're not like monitor their. They're gross. I guess. They say this is a very common that people don't know. Ponies are their own type of horse. Yeah. And a baby horse is called a fold or a filly. Full or a full. Yeah. F O A L. We had my my little pony Sally. She was a pony and she was I think she lived to be 32 maybe. Don't like that. She's pretty good for a horse. She and she was before we got her a championship barrel racer course. She could fly through there. She was really, really good. Not with me on board, but with other people on board. And she was the best. She was so sweet. She was just, but then I'm for didn't e when night. That was a wind storm. No. And all the horses were going crazy and the Tennessee Walker stud who lived in one of the other
things the fence got blown over and he got to her. Oh, he got to her big time. And she was just a little girl. She was like, and he's a big old Bay, like a kind of a red Tennessee Walker horse because my dad's girlfriend had these two beautiful Tennessee walkers. And if you've ever written on one of those, they're pretty amazing horses because they just have this like. It's really, really cool. But a Tennessee Walker and a pony, not the best combo. Like nobody's on the market for I'd really like to see a Tennessee Walker and a pony, not a Shetland pony, just like a regular pony. Well, anyway, she gives birth to quirky this. Hey, he was trying it. I felt so bad for her. Like, geez, geez, there's something horse coming out of this little girl. So quirky had a cork tail. That's why we called him quirky. He went on to become a champion because my dad's girlfriend's daughter took him and trained him. And he was like a rodeo champ because she was a really good horse person.
So it turned out okay, but I felt bad for her because she was just a pony. How, what's the, how long are horses pregnant? That is a very good question. And I'm not sure. I think it's less, less time. So you have the wind storm and then they all, something's happening and then several months later. And my dad knew he said, I got them son of a, he didn't even get them because of that. He's out there. And then the wind is spartan. It was spartan and Jericho or one anyway. She had banner and spartan, spartan got to her. We had, it was craziness. We had like 13 dogs with eight horses. It was crazy on the rant. But anyway, that's the story of Sally. She was just a little pony and when she was pregnant, oh my god, her belly was just huge and she's looking at us like, why would you let him do that to me? I just, I'm a pony. And I think that was her only baby that she had too. But Sally was a good pony. We loved Sally.
That's my story about Sally. Like that's good story. I wonder what if people, the text line know about you. Pony's in there. Oh, what's a group of ponies called? Oh, I don't know. You'd be like a trivia question. A parade of pony. Oh, and people want to know how it smells in the studio today. Everything is fine today. There was, I could smell something yesterday in here. Yeah. Nothing hit the ground from the pig. But there was kind of a thing. Yeah, it was a little, it was a little barnyard in here. There's a smell to a barnyard animal. They just have a smell. So I could do it smell. Or since they're 11, 11 months pregnant. Oh, okay. For Sally. Hey, I was enjoying my coffee.
Oh, thanks to my win against Molly. This is Lisa. She checked in. She got her thing. Oh, Dutch Bros. Yeah, Dutch Bros. We do need someone to play the show down in a little bit too. Jean is waiting to see what the weather is like before she comes all the way from Bellingham to walk with us. Wow, that is quite a commitment to drive all the way and then walk. That's a very good person. Now, here's something for you. Without instructions. Yes. Could you sew a button, change a tire, change a baby's diaper. Yes. Those are just a few of the things. Could you cook white rice? Yes. Could you, well, those are the ones. That's it. Well, they give you some. Well, without instructions, you know what, with the white rice, I was on a roll of doing white rice a lot. And I could then, but actually right now, if you said, go cook white rice, I would have to look for how much water to the thing. The diaper for sure, the button is going to look horrible, but I would do it.
I tried to do it and it was a debacle. I mean, I made it work, but, yeah. I know basically what to do. But the tire thing, I believe you get the jack. You jack it up first, right? But I don't know where to put the jack. Well, you've got to loosen the nuts on the thing before you jack it up. Oh, you do. Oh, yeah. Because you need the tension to hold it. You need the tire to sit. Okay. That's one of the things. I should try to change the tire. I remember I had a blow out on the highway and Ken came and changed it for me. I don't know why I didn't call AAA. You also had a blow out before it came to work one day. In the pants. Do you get it? They say 73% of people could on the spot cook white rice. Okay. 17% said they probably could. And then there was everybody else that said no, okay, it's a non-starter.
Changing a baby diaper, this is just an experience thing, really. Yes. Two thirds of people say they could definitely do it on the spot. About 15% could not. Speaking of cooking stuff. So this comic that opened for Alie Wong last night, he was talking about beans. He goes, he was talking about how he likes to cook stuff. He goes, how many of you cooked beans from scratch? And there was like a, it goes really. So the first thing about beans is like you have to find the rocks. So when you, you know, you buy beans in a bag, there's definitely going to be rocks in there somewhere. So your first order of business is to soak the beans and get rid of the pebbles and the rocks. That's just the thing. I only know this because I've been around people who have done this. The cooked beans from scratch, but he said, you can either go to the store and buy a can of beans for $1.29 or you can spend nine hours making them. And it's true. It's one of those things that, but there's always little teeny pebbles, especially like
if you buy, I don't know, black beans or whatever. If you buy them loose like that, you got to soak them and get all those sediment out. And it just made me laugh because I've witnessed that before, but that's what comics do. They bring something to you that you already knew, but when they pointed out in a group of people, you're all having that common experience. And that's the genius of these comics. It's very funny to me, but anyway, I don't know that I would do that. I don't think I've ever cooked beans before. I am a person that would just buy the can. Absolutely. I have witnessed it with people trying to make fancy chili. Okay, by the beans, I suppose it's better, but I don't know. A group of ponies can be called a string, especially when they're owned by an individual. A group of ponies can also be called a, as other equine groups like herd, a rag or so on.
A rag of ponies. I don't like that. That's not enough. I say pleasant tree of ponies there. I've renamed it. I think I like your term better. Sewing a button. Yeah, no, this one's tough for people. Just barely more than half can do it. Makes me feel a whole lot better. I did it, but it didn't look very good. And it didn't last very long either. I think it went like three times, and then it was, then I was back to one of those, like on the top of your, yeah, it was one of these, not this shirt, but it was one. Kind of like that. You have to have the right, you're going to mash the color of the thread. Here's the problem we ran into the last time I tried to, I was going to sew something neither can or I could get the, oh, yes, yeah, couldn't do it. You need a lot of light. I think what we, I think next time what I would do is the magnifier on my phone. And then look at it through that.
I just couldn't get it. I would, I know how to, but then you need someone to hold the phone for you because you're, you know, exactly. Just barely over half could do a sew a button on the spot. 20% said they could not do it. Absolutely not. And then changing a tire, don't feel bad if you can't change a tire. Only 39% of people say they could change a tire right on the spot. Yeah. I don't believe I could do that. I can do it, but it's going to take way longer than someone that really knows what they're doing. That's why I keep triple A always just in case. Yeah, I, we were on our way to San Francisco and I was so excited to get to San Francisco. I was driving my little Miata. It's all happy. Yeah, this is so great. And somebody had a blowout on the highway on the four up big, the big, I don't know if it's a four or five, but it's whatever it is that goes, you know, to San Francisco and it was huge freeway.
And my boyfriend, Bob at the time decided he was going to pull over and help this person change their damn tire. Oh no. And I'm thinking of all of the people. Why us? Like they probably have triple A and it's a dude and we're delaying our San Francisco trip. And we're having this wonderful time. And I felt like a selfish person for feeling that way. I did. I felt so. How long did it take him to change the tire? I don't know too long. Too long. We're on the side. It was scary. Yeah. On the side of the road. And that's half the thing that's scary about the whole tire. Anyway, the whole trip didn't go very well. That was the start of it all. Then the question comes up. How confident are you assembling a key of furniture, even with instructions? I don't know about that. I don't know that I've had a lot of a key of furniture or just like, well, like the little library thing, you know, it's a whole thing.
It's give you it's one sheet, one instruction sheet. It's got pictures on it, but you know, still lock and go wrong. And apparently it did. Apparently it did. Henryville the trend, oh bad. It was like, it all came that that was that was very nice of him because it took him to a lot of hours. I was at a town. That's a good time to have him do it. Apparently there's a little tool called the needle threader. Really? I have one of those. It's a little wire thing. I don't know how to work it apparently. Everybody's jumping on the needle threader train. Needle threader. Yes. Well, try to find one of those. That's what we do know at this hour. Oh boy, look at you. I don't know. I know. People do know that. And then this horse thing. So horses will be pregnant for 11 months. What is and humans, obviously, nine months, but what is there any,
anything longer than a horse? I think elephants are super long. Oh, let me look it up. Yeah. I say, who? And I think kitty cats and rats are like the shortest rats are really quick. Yeah. I learned the hard way on that. I went from two rats one summer. I was the kid that got to take a pair of rats home for a summer break. By the end of summer, I had a hundred rats. That is a long time. I mean, that's a lot of rats rats and rabbits. I think rabbits do it a lot too. Oh, God, yeah. That's why they say that. Yeah, elephants are 18 to 22 months. Oh, geez. It's because they're so massive. It takes more time. It's complex their brains and their intelligence. Their high intelligence and they also must be strong enough to walk as soon as they're born. So an elephant is the big. I wonder what a dinosaur was. Probably dinosaurs are probably the longest, but we have to know how would we know?
Let's see if they know. For a dinosaur, I don't know how they could know. Dinosaurs did not experience pregnancy or they lay eggs. Oh. Of course. And same with dragons, dragons, dragons, we learn that from a game of thrones. But they do say that the eggs took three to six months to hatch. Some of them only 83 days. How could they possibly know that? Oh, look at this strand of dirt. I believe this means that the gestation period, the egg wouldn't hatch for six months. What do you, what do you think? Well, I agree, sir. Based on the type of brown that we have here. I'm sorry. I just, it's really hard for me. I just don't know how they can be exact killer whales, 15 to 16 months,
then horses. And then randomly a golden alpine salamander up to three years. That's a calendar. That's commitment. Geez. So cows are nine months. You know, the dad salamander, he's long gone by then. Please. He was like, cute. No way. A mouse is just three weeks. That makes sense. Oh my God. A hamster's two weeks. Yeah. I know what about rats like pet rats? Super fast. Well, and they turn out they're like little, they look like little piglets. Yes. When they're, you know, well, the mouse, I'm guessing mouse and rat is probably the same. And then dogs and cats are like two months. That's not enough time to plant people. And that's pretty remarkable. My son's dog had 10 puppies. 10 and they all are perfectly formed. And I think there was an 11th that didn't make it.
But it only took her two months to make 10. Perfectly formed puppies. That is crazy. I like all the people that were sending in the information about the horses when we first got onto this topic and they said, little horse emoji. The rat is 21 days. Yeah. That makes sense. Chicken is 22. And then they then I wonder how long it takes a rat once it's born before it can go again because I mean, it was one summer. And they had a ton of them. So the first original rats that you had, they kept making babies. But then the babies, they had started making babies. I believe so because you just can't get to that number. I mean, it was just like, it could be, it could have been. And when they would, you know, have the babies, they'd be like six, eight, 10, two times. Like little, you know, yeah. And then they grow, they grow pretty fast.
I guess insist doesn't have problem with them. Well, it's different creature. Yes. Justin says, remember how elephants have intercourse day. Hi. Hi. Very carefully. They do it. Elephant style. Yeah, what does that look like? That's a mess. It is a mess. It's got to be. I don't even want to think about it. Let's move on. We got to be done. We're done with the topic. Let's go back to the dinosaurs. Ooh, look at this sampling. Hmm, this must be a Montessori's X from the, uh, terrific ages. Yes, I can. You're just making up the words now. Let's write it down. Make it so. It's a hundred million, 50 years old. We know exactly. And this is where they had their intercourse. So now here's a question.
If dinosaurs laid the eggs and I know it's going to sound naive, but when, like, we've had this conversation before, when, when things have eggs involved, does that, doesn't the male go over and like, do they have to spread their stuff on the eggs or, I don't know. That's already done. That's how they do it. And then they get the egg and then she lays the eggs. So it would be the equivalent of like if we had, if the, the people had the intercourse, they get the egg, but then the woman lays the egg instead of keeping it inside inside. Yeah. So the dinosaurs were doing it. And then the eggs get fertilized inside the female dinosaur. And then she lays the eggs and then she has sit on them or protect them. Yeah. So we're good here, right? Okay. So we're going to do a break. When we come back, we're going to have, we're going to talk more about the interstate fair starts tomorrow. But one of the cool things about the fair, they started doing this last year.
It was a massive hit, huge hit. They have these speakeasy and there's a way we can go to the secret room and have secret drinks. And we're going to talk to one of the people that is responsible for the secret drinks. Yeah. This is Aaron from Brown's Distillery and in Brown Distillery. And then we're also going to talk about the Kevin Shaybant that will be performing there. Okay. At the speakeasy. Oh. Yeah. Cool. Okay. Yeah. So we'll do that. And then if you want to play the show down, trivia competition, please check in with this via the text line. As Molly has pointed out earlier, there's four football questions on account of the start of football season. And tomorrow, I will have the questions for you on Freaky Friday. Okay. That's something to look forward to. And then Ken will join us in the eight o'clock hour. So lots to get to. This is the David Mollie show from the New America studio. Oh.
We now return to the David Mollie show. Hey, welcome back everybody. David Mollie show continues. And as we get ready for the interstate fair, opens tomorrow. There's some cool things they're doing out the fair. Oh, one, as we learned yesterday, they got a pig. It will just randomly just do stuff at any time. This is way better. We've got Aaron from Brown Distillery. He is the master distiller. Master distillery. Yes. How do you get to be the master distiller? Basically a lot of years and putting in the time and work and pushing your way through and learning the trade and hopefully one day it leads you to, you know, where I am now. Being a master. So I'm a little obsessed with this bow blend. Well, this Cedar floral gin. Let's talk about that. Yeah. So we've been teaming up with the Spokane interstate fair for the last three years. It's been a great partnership for everyone really. And each year we've done it. It's progressively gotten a little bit bigger and more intricate.
You know, the first year we did this. We did just a special blend of bourbon, Bose blend, which was representative of the, of the, the goat that is the Spokane mascot. And we got to see the goat. Yeah. Yeah. We did. Yeah. And so last year we kind of up to the little bit. We didn't necessarily do a product for the fair, but they wanted to do something unique and interesting and they did the speak easy. You know, a place for people to come and sit and enjoy and relax and have cocktails and have this very kind of intimate space to enjoy at the fair. So year three, we're back. We're bigger. We've doubled the size of the speak easy. They wanted to additional products. So we're bringing back the Bose blend. It's a three barrel blend of a variety of years of age product that we've had. A very nice intimate bourbon. And then we also created a gin representative of cedar, the highland cow that was going to be the spoke another mascot of the Spokane fair. So we created this floral cedar's gin that people can enjoy and have some nice,
refreshing cocktails based with that spirit. It's still. And I know, yeah, Molly, you bought both of those, right? Did you? Yeah, we became a member. She went all in. We joined. Well, we had the bees knees. Now is that the gin that goes in the bees knees? Yes, man. Okay, that's what I thought. So then because of what we do, we then have to be obsessive and go get the lavender bitters and the this bitters and the slices of orange and the things. And so that we can almost duplicate the bees knees at home and the honey syrup stuff. But I am not a gin person. I've never been a gin person until I tasted this gin and I love it. Well, that's terrific. We love that. It's really. And we were just kind of sipping it separately too. And even to sip on it, I enjoyed it. And then your other gin, what's the other gin called? Because there's two. We have a lavender for gin. And that one is good as well. Yeah. And then we got some vodka. I don't know.
We have the whole line on the whole line. So what in the chronologically, which which I know the wine was the was the course that everybody knows about the brown wine. But then then what happened when you got into the spirits? Yeah. So we are traditionally a wine based company. Yeah. You see a brown wines and almost every grocery store retailer very prominent among Washington. In 2021, brown company started to purchase the distillery. Andrew Brown, our owner, is actually from Spokane. He wanted to have something in his local community that could be representative with him. And so they the distillery was up for sale. It used to be the old warrior distillery. Brown was looking for an opportunity to get into the spirits industry. So in 2021, they purchased the distillery. And ever since then, we've been pushing forward with the brown products. The other thing I love, the you guys have a great location there.
It's really, wherever we went, you can sit outside and it's really, it's in it, it's like in the industrial. So you come around the corner and all of a sudden there's a distillery there and you can sit and have a cocktail. That is, that's really cool too. Yeah. The distillery itself is almost its own speakeasy. You know, we are in this very off the beaten path location. It is very industrial. There's not a lot of foot traffic. Still a lot of people in Spokane don't even know that we are there because of our location. Yeah. But it's definitely one of those locations and one of those environments where you actually come in as friends and you leave as family. Oh. Well, I know we went, I went to pick up something and Ken went to pick up my boyfriend and everybody was so nice. Just very, hey, how are you doing again? Like they remember you and it's a great setting. And it's a great place to have like a gathering, you know, there's a big spot, but you're going to be at the speakeasy. So now the speakeasy has doubled in size since last year because they had it and then they
said, oh, well, we need it was a big hit. Yeah. From multiple sources, I've heard it was a very big hit. So that's pretty cool. And then there's going to be there's live music in there too. Yeah. This year, you know, as Molly said, we've doubled the space or the fairs double the space from my understanding, there's going to be a live band of Friday and Saturdays. So we really encourage people to just come out and enjoy the music and the environment and have a cocktail with our spirits. The Kevin Shay band is going to be there and they have like five to six thirty Friday, Saturday, they're all different times and you can go on the website. That's the other thing that's super cool this year is the fair website. It's so user friendly. You can really find everything you want to find. But the Kevin Shay band will be there and then the mixologist, it's you have Lauren, the rock star bartender who's going to be doing stuff and it's tangent hospitality. Right. So they're part of all of this as well. Yeah.
So this year, we've, you know, we're teamed up with the fair as we know, but we also have partnerships with Tangon Hospitality who, you know, they own a lot of the restaurants in Spokane, Barat shows and the globe. The other one. Yeah. All those so many on that corner. Yeah. And then we also have the Washington Lottery who has partnered up with us. Yeah. Lottery. We love the lottery. These are all the things we love. Alcohol, gambling, the fair. Speaky Zs. Speaky Zs. You have a nice quiet secret environment. The live music. Everybody's happy. And so is the speak easy going to be open every single day that the fair is open or is it only Friday and Saturday nights? No, it will be open every day. Oh, good. I believe it opens at two. So you don't have to be limited to just the weekends. If you're an individual that can make it out during the week, then we, we really encourage you to just come check it out. It's a very unique experience. It's great atmosphere. So it's, it's terrific.
I like it. I'm formulating a plan for tomorrow already because we're going to be out there and I'm just thinking there's a way. I drop the dog off on the valley, get an Uber, then six, six bees knees later. Yeah, I'll be on the tilt of world. Yeah. That's great. Make sure you shoot some video too. Yeah. Get on camera doing. Keep on myself with an elephant ear and a big pretzel and all the things that they have there. I think this is great. This will be a lot of fun. We're happy that we're happy to meet you. We are so happy to be out there for the little press day. I got to know all about it and yeah, it's good stuff. So you guys have the, you have the gin, you have the bourbon, you have multiple gins. Yes, we do. And then in the vodka too. Yeah. So we have a whole variety of spirits at our actual facility. We carry a handful of our wines, a pretty good sortment. We have all the spirits that we, we have in retail and then we have a tasting room, exclusive
spirits as well. So if you're a whiskey drinker, we have a bourbon, we have a single malt, we have a rye whiskey, we have a variety of vodka, a lemon, huckleberry, our regular vodka. And then we have some flavored spirits as well. We have like a cold brew vodka, our vanilla bean bourbon is one of our most popular items. That was the other one we tasted that was so good. Our from a shell dosage that they would love the espresso vodka. That's the coffee. Yes. What's your favorite thing of all? My favorite thing of all, my favorite thing of all is actually not in bottle yet. So it's like, oh, I've got experimental whiskey sitting in barrel waiting for their day to embrace the lips of people and only a master just still would know that. Yes. So it's yet to be. It's yet to be in bottle. But out of all the products that we currently have, I would say either just our traditional reserve bourbon is a very proud pleaser or the vanilla bean for sure, but the individuals
with a sweeter palate. And here's the nice thing about the vanilla because I kind of went to the clearer thing, you know, staying away from the bourbons and stuff. But that has a sweetness, but it's not overpowering. It's just a hint of sweetness. So you don't get that same, you know, if you're having peanut butter whiskey or one of the honey whiskeys or whatever, this is different. It's just a hint of it and I like that. It's more subtle and overwhelming. We are, our eye call, our gin and our vanilla bean bourbon, kind of like gateway spirits. You're not, oh, maybe you're a wine drinker, maybe you're a beer to be on a sewer. But if you're interested in getting a little dabble in some spirits, these are two options that are easy on the palate, easy to drink and maybe open up your options a little bit. So you mentioned the wine. Can I get wine in the speak easy to or is it just the spirits? I believe it's just the spirits I could be wrong.
That's going to push me into the spirit world. Uh-huh. Join us. I'll be a spirit in the material world. There was a time when you were, oh, see, there was a time when you weren't a wine person and you're a wine person. So there's always room to go. Yeah. I went from vodka. Vodka was my first thing. And then, you know, and vodka still, still pretty good. I did a bourbon tour in Louisville. So I kind of learned a little bit about that. But if, you know, if you're in a situation, well, when in Rome, you're in speak easy and they got the bourbon there, I got to, I got to do it. Be wrong not to. Be rude not to. It'd be rude. It'd be rude. It's our job. As a Kentucky and I would be very disappointed if you didn't try the whiskey. Are you from Kentucky? I am. Oh, nice. Louisville. Actually, Claremont. So I'm from Claremont, the homogen beam grew up to two miles behind it. So we did the tour. He's been in the backyard the whole time. So it's in your blood. Basically. You raised it.
It probably was in your water. Urban in the blood. Yeah. I loved Louisville. I just, what is that? Is it fourth street? What is the book? Yeah. Yeah. Down, down. It's just, it's just fun. It's all bars and live music and. Yeah. I think Kentucky is beautiful. I live in Nashville. So I go to Bowling Green to do some work and stuff. And then we go to the race track. Churchill Downs. Yeah. I did the tour of that too. That's awesome. Highly suggest the Derby. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They were explaining all that. I think the year, the year that I did the tour, the year before they had set the record they had like a hundred and fifty five thousand at, you know, Churchill Downs where for the Derby they have the, the normal grandstands. And then there's inside where you're like the infill. Yeah. That's a whole spectacle. Oh. Yeah. That would be neat. That's dangerous right there. Yeah. Have you been, have you done that? Oh, yeah. Oh, man. That's where all the locals go and. Oh, in the middle section.
Yeah. Yeah. I love it. Yeah. Well, that's where I learned about Secretariat. And then at the tour for Churchill Downs you get to do, they'll let you call a race where you're in the little booth and they give you the colors and everything and then you get the recording of you calling a horse race. Oh, that's, yeah, super cool. And then all the bourbon. Yeah. There's a question here. Actually, this is the first time texture. First of all, they say it's time to dust off Carnie Man. Oh, yeah. Carnie, Carnie, Carnie, Carnie, Dave has a song about the Carnival. And then how much sugars are in your vodka? They're asking. Oh, how much sugars are in our vodka? I'm not really sure where they're going with that. So to be a vodka, it's got to meet certain qualifications. It's got to come off the still at 190 proof, clear odorless and tasteless. So if you're referring to the, just the spirit off the equipment, there's no sugars at all. Okay. What is the base for?
Is that a grain base or a wheat? Wheat. So they have some potato vodka's. Oh, yeah. That's, yeah, there are some potatoes for people who have any vodka can be made from any substrator raw material as long as it meets those qualifications. We talked to another friend who has a distillery and they were saying they turned their wine into vodka. Yeah, you can absolutely do that. So that's, I never knew that you could do that. That's pretty cool. And you can turn beer. I guess that's my point from a saying he had a batch of beer that it wasn't very good. And that they turned that into some kind of alcohol beverage. They just like, if you boil it down, this person is a diabetic. That's why they're asking for sugar. Okay. Well, yeah, back to that question. As far as like our flavored vodka's, we're looking at around, I think it's like eight grams of sugar per liter, something like that. Per liter. Okay. Oh, that's amazing. You'll never get eight grams in one sitting. That's, that's a lot. That's sweet. Yeah. So maybe look for a different avenue if you're a little concerned with that.
Sure. Just the straight vodka though, that's not sweet. That's pretty clean. Yeah. Okay, go. You're safe there. Got it. Okay. All right. Well, I'm excited for you guys. I think this is great. And I know that the exposure over the last few years of what the brown people are doing with the, with the spirits is fantastic. Yeah, that's what we're really just kind of looking for with, you know, our involvement with the fair is just the exposure and get the local community to know where we're at and come enjoy the space and let us provide them with some great cocktails and wine and just a happy environment. So I know, I know the space has doubled. So what is the new capacity for, because you want to get there early, you don't want to get, you know, you don't want to be, get to the species. Oh, all full in there. Sorry. Yeah. So pretty intimate space. I'd say that maybe you could fit 30 people there. So I'd say this year, you're easily 67 people.
Oh, okay. Okay. Yeah. Perfect. All right. Still get there early. You want to spot, we'll be there tomorrow early. Yeah, we're going to be the first ones in there. Yeah. The ceremonial first walk-in to the species. Amazing. Very good. All right, Erin. Yeah. Well, I said meet you officially and we'll see you out at the fair. Awesome. We look forward to having you. Thank you. Love it. Take care. When we come back, we'll do the showdown. Molly has the trivia questions ready to go. Including, you said four football questions in honor of the kickoff of the football season. If you want to play, check in with us via the Dutch Bros. Textline. Ken will be joining us in the eight o'clock hour as well. More as we continue, this is the David Molly show from the New America studio. We now return to the Dave and Molly show.
Did I come in on the program? You're announcing your retirement. Oh, yes, that's right. We talked about that. Yes. On KQ. I did see a memory pop up, big announcements. A couple of big announcements. Yeah. That was, that you were retiring, and then we were going to have announcement, but it was, we invited everybody to the Fox, but we hadn't told them about the show yet. Oh, right. I think that's right. I think that's right. I think it was. It was like a double announcement. Two years retired. You've been retired for two years. Man, I, I put the tired and retired. I don't know. Well, I'm busy, but you know, it's all good. Well, you fix some screens. You're working in a funeral house. I don't. I travel in the country. A Labor Day was screen fixer weekend. More on that later, because I know all the screenings are out there. Oh, yeah, they want to fool people with screenings. I can't remember who I was talking to. And they asked about your screens.
And I said, well, you know, I bet, I bet he would, that he'd work on your screen. Well, it's a pretty big hole. I said, well, there's no hole too big for Ken Hopkins. Well, I, yeah. Once you get the screen, the hole doesn't matter. Right. Right. Although I judge and I even told my wife, I kind of see SI at because I want to know who did it and what happened. Yeah, every screen has a story. I figured out a couple more on that later. Oh, God. On the next CSI screen. Oh, I get. Yeah. Well, we'll have lots to get to, but we want to do the showdown. And you're going to, you're going to stay for that. And then you can, you know, have your input on some of these questions, because Molly says she has four football questions. I sure do. I'm going to feel bad if I'm out of the loop on those. I missed the football question yesterday. I'm semi in the loop. You got, you missed two. What? Uh, it's shot clock. Which I did miss that. However, I know why I missed it.
Because last night they had a situation after a, a stoppage of play. Yes. Then it is a 25 second plot. Not shot. Not, not, not 40 seconds. Oh, so that's why there was, there was some confusion on that, but. But then I know the one that Brian and Brian was mad at himself was the, the biggest thing. Yeah, I got that one. That was $5 one. I know. I forgot to give you $5. Any $5 football questions? I forgot to give you your $5. And don't think I didn't remember that when I was looking through and I thought, well, this $5. No, I'm buying something with it. He's going to get that. That's OK. I bought something with your $5. Let's see. Do I have any $5 questions? Well, yes, I do. I have a $5 question at number two. OK, second question. All right, let's get ready for the showdown.
What do you think? And then Cheryl's going to be calling here in a second. It's time for Dave's cash showdown. Time for you to throw down. Winning in a minute and 10. Dave comes in and answers it again. If you scores inferior and Dave will reign superior, it's time to play around. Dave's cash showdown. Showdown featuring football questions. Yes. That's very exciting. Little sportsy. This is the last one. I'm only doing this because it's opening week. I'm not. This is not going to be a trend. So don't be afraid. However, tomorrow, when I do the questions, maybe I have a football question. Maybe just one. Then we wrap up football week. Hey, tell Ken who's winning a fantasy football. Molly is winning fantasy football right now. April and I are winning after one game. What was your plan team is winning? What was your plan? I like that. Cheryl, are you there?
Hello? Cheryl? Yes, I'm here. Oh, good. There you are. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And Ken's getting a message on his phone at the same time. Yeah, here you're loud and clear. I'm glad that you're going to play the showdown. Now Molly has said there's a $5 question, second question right out of the shoot. And then how are you generally speaking with football questions? That. Oh, well, maybe Ken can help. Maybe Ken can help on the football questions. Maybe in a sense. You did football. You did football yesterday. Why are we revisiting football? I said because it's the second. It's the this is it. But you have Ken Hopkins. So Ken is allowed to chime in on the football questions only. Oh, OK. OK. Fairer? OK, I'll say it's fair. OK. Very good. I'll agree, fairer. OK. Fairer is what we need. All right. I'm going to leave the studio. Molly has the 10 questions, football questions, a money question, and a show question at number 10.
Yes. Oh, that's right. Good luck, Cheryl. OK. Thank you. You too. All right, Cheryl. So in general, what is your strongest? What is your strongest? Topic. Oh, maybe entertainment, medical. Oh, the medical, yeah. That's good. Oh, yeah. Nothing there. Well, we'll see how I do. All right. All right. Then I will just ask you this. Are you ready to throw down on the showdown? Most definitely. All right. Here we go. What are the only two NFL teams to win a Super Bowl in their home stadiums? 10. Good help. The giant. I'm not the giant. Giant? No. I'm not the 49. I have no clue. OK. I'll just go to. All right. This is the $5 question. Which film earned Stanley Kubrick a razzy nomination for Worst Director?
Would that be the shining? My god, you got it. Cheryl, nice job. Holy crap, I'm rich. You are rich. OK, the Niagara Falls empties into which great lake. The period. All right. Here's another football question. Who was the first head coach of the Seattle Seahawks? Well, I should know that. So should Ken look at his head ache. He's giving himself a headache. I'm stuck on the second guy. Boy, a name's not coming to me. No, OK. I'm going to say Chuck Knox, but I don't think that's correct. Which film sported at the tagline just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water? God. Can you hear me? There you go. Thank you. All right. Here's another football. In 2010, which player became the only grandfather
in the NFL? And I believe. Oh, my God. Is he still playing? I don't think he's still playing. Oh, I think he was a packer. Believe he was a packer. He was a quarterback. Aaron Rogers. Rett far. Brett far by a lick set. Brett far. You'll take that. What is the capital of Minnesota? Minneapolis. Who was the first female to be featured on the front of a Weedee's box? Then Dr. Player. It needs just any. All right. How many NFL teams have bird mascots? Name is Minesha Ken. Or just give me the number. Seahawks Eagles. I'm not a football person. OK.
You got two. OK, three. Four. Very good. Give one more. Nameed after a poem. I said, he goes. Did you get eagle? I got eagle's. Got cardinals. Oh. Oh. Seahawks. Never more. Yeah. I got four. The Ravens. And you got the Falcons. Between you, you got all five. I'm giving it to you. And today's show question. What does Molly use as a palette cleanser after watching programs at night? Oh, I just heard you do that. Oh, my God. It's the go to show I have to watch one every day. So then that would be Brady Bond. Yes. I didn't hear anything. I didn't hear you say that. Oh, I said, I know. I said, as I had to after a long day kind of watch it. All right. Well, Dave's coming back. We'll see. I think that I think it was helpful. A respectful white thing. I think it was respectable. I think it helped a little bit. A little bit. That's what happened. That's what happened. Can help with football questions.
Hey, I have a question. Try to. Maybe for a different time. But for our viewers on YouTube, is this screen look crooked? Well, the will look at it later. I think I did that yesterday. I think my chair got stuck under it. Oh, dude, you're bummed. I'm looking at it. When I was looking from on the screen, I think it looks OK. But when I was standing out there waiting to come back in, I was looking at it. It looks like it's a little, but I don't know. That's a question for our viewers. Right. Somebody else. Did Cheryl win $5? She did. Oh, yeah. Good job, Cheryl. She did. And then how'd she do with the football questions? Well, with a little help, she, I think, she got two of them. I think she did as well as I did. OK. All right. All right. All right. My turn to play. Here we go. 10 questions for me. What are the only two NFL teams to win a Super Bowl at their home stadium? Tampa Bay. And the Rams.
Ah. Impressive. Yes. That's it. Yeah. Really? Here's your $5 question. Which film earned Stanley Kubrick a razzie nomination for Worcester? Oh, you put this in there just for your purposes. Eyes wide shut. The Niagara Falls empties into which great lake. Ontario. Or. Oh, like America. Oh, yeah. Of course. No, I know that. Drag is that's where it is. What do you mean? OK. Who was the first head coach of the Seattle Seahawks? Ooh. Chuck Knox. That's what he said. Jack Vaterra. Yes. Good job. I will allow it. Come on with that. Which film sported the tagline just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water? Jaws too. And 2010, which player became the oldie grandfather in the NFL?
In 2010? Oh, my gosh. That is a great quiet. I don't know that. OK. What is the capital of Minnesota? St. Paul. Who is the first female to be featured on the front of a Weeley's box? Mary the retin. How many NFL teams with bird mascots can you name? Well, all of them. OK, well, then go ahead. Well, Seahawks, it's not really a bird, but it is a bird thing. See it? Seahawks, Falcons, Ravens, Cardinals, Eagles. And of those five, which is not an actual real team. Cardinals. It was only five? Yes, five. OK. Final question. What does Molly use as a cleanser, palette cleanser at the end of a day? Brady Bunch episode. Very good. Oh. OK. OK. Adam, all up special. I'm adding them up special.
Oh, wow. OK, we have our final score. Ladies and gentlemen, Dave wins eight, five. Hey. But she won five dollars. Did I win five dollars? No, you did not. Damn it. What was the five dollar question again? It was what film did Stanley Kubrick get a rough nomination? And it was a nice white shot. It was for the shining. The shining? Really? Yes. Well, they're just wrong. I went right to I's white shot. I thought that's why you put it in there as a turd. Oh, that's the trick, but she got it. The shining. Nice work, Cheryl. Yeah, she said, holy crap, I'm rich. Oh, she did. She did. That's what I would say if I won. So you got a Tampa and the Rams. Very good. The shining Ontario Lake Ontario. Jack Patera was the first one. Couldn't come up with him. And they fired him while he was on a fishing boat. And then they hired Chuck Knox. Brought in ground chuck. Ground chuck, yeah.
That's what they called it. Farve was the first grandfather in the NFL. Oh, OK. And they gave me a clue. She said he was a packer. And I thought, oh, yeah. OK, good question. I knew he was a packer. And I knew he was a quarterback. St. Paul, very good. Mary Lou Retten, very good. You both got all the mascots. And you both got the Brady Bunch. Ah, OK. Yeah. Almost. Almost thought, you know, a little shot of bourbon since he had the bourbon guy. Oh, yeah. But Brady Bunch, of course. Brady Bunch is my palette cleanser. That's what makes me happy. And then usually when I get in bed, I have to watch a friend's episode or two. Because, you know, it's important. As one would. Especially if you actually just disturbing documentary. Cheryl, congratulations for our friends in America Credit Union Proud Pond Served Day's cash showdown. America Credit Union, they are the only credit union that is represented by every NFL football team. Yeah, it's true. The bird teams, which there are five of. And then there's the giant team, which is, you know,
they're all a bunch of giants. You'd think, well, they should win every game, because there's a giant. Well, the inspiration for the giants came from the America Credit Union. You see, friends, America Credit Union was the credit union for all people that enjoy football and all sporting events. So if you like sports or if you don't like sports, America Credit Union should be your credit union today and every day. And five, three cups of Dutch No, from Spokane's Dutch Bros. Spokane's Dutch Bros. Spokane's Dutch Bros. You see, friends? You really got it on the ropes today. Pop, pop, pop. Sure also, I can text you the card or I can send it to you whatever you want. Go ahead and text it to me. And I would like you to take the $5 out to one of the very best machines and turn it into 20,000 for yourself. Oh, what a nice person. Very nice. Thank you so much. That could be that could be all it takes is a seven.
One, oh, actually, you have two more spins. Yeah, maybe five. That'll find the money question for years. Yes. That's right. All right, Cheryl, you're wonderful. Never know. Thank you very much for playing the game. Text in your address and then Molly will give you the. We're going to do a picture. Oh, yeah, oh, picture. Oh, okay. And then the money just gets rolled off. So I guess we don't need anything. I don't want anything. I just want to know. Okay. It would make me really happy. All right. Thank you, Cheryl. All right. Have a good day, guys. You too. Tomorrow will be freaky Friday. I will have questions. And Molly will have to answer them. Yeah. Questions. I have answers. That's right. What is Molly's general record on freaky Friday? I think I have a. A win a try and loss. I think it's all. Yeah, we've only done three, right?
This will be the fourth. Ah, so I think you're going to think it's a one one and one. One and one and one. It's not bad. Yeah. My friend Patrick says that the screen looks a tiny bit crooked. And I believe it's because I accidentally got. When the pig was here and I was backing up away from the crap coming out of its butt in real time. It got stuck. I was trying to back away from the chair or something else got stuck. He's here. The chair. Don't get into it again. All right. I don't know. I have to look from out there. I just caught my eye when I was out outside of the studio. It looks okay in the. Yeah. It looks okay on that. I don't know how to move it. I'm scared. Anyway. Yeah. It looks good. But Ken's here. Did you watch the game last night? I did. Yeah. Go hawks. Yeah, go hawks. At the bottom of the screen. What's going on at the end of the day? The climbingboxing on the Estate website. hobby. Grinderstyle. And the defense. Just kept coming up at play and apply
after play. I enjoyed it, though, including the clenching interception in the end zone. I know to feed down. That was. That was a grinder. And you've been very excited about this football season. You said you said you have NEVER been more excited for football. I know. that well I know. I believed. Are they 10 Games under. I don't, it's not. I don't it's not happening. They only have to win 14 of their next 17 game. Is that all? That's all. I did hear a sports reporter say because it's shrinking down every game is a playoff game for the Mariners. Yeah. They got to basically win out. I know. Basically. And you got your mirror and your thing on. I know my land. Yeah. Yeah. I should have that on. Remember when Molly had you bet $100 on the Mariners? Right. I believe. I'm not sure I think I was forced into it. No, I was not. Well, we felt like it was time you put your money where your mouth was. You like a mom and making a mom family. Mom and the bandwagon.
I like the Mariners. I like it. And then I said, just put your money up. And why I didn't do it last year. I didn't go all the way but wild card and almost one all the way. It is. I admired the spirit of it all. But you know, again, when you're betting on something that's never happened before, what if what if we live in a world where we never see that happen, where they never, ever even make it to the world series. The only team that's never made it to the world series. Yeah. They are. And I asked my two sons several years ago, I said, which happens first in my lifetime? Mariners, a win a world series, or Gonzaga wins the national championship. And Gonzaga has been there. They've been all around it. Not going on the door. Not going to have final four and all that. So I don't know. And now you know, you can bet on Gonzaga to win the national championship at Northern Quest. Yeah. I there are gambling ads all over. Yeah. Yeah. Very exciting. You can
walk in. Yeah. I watched a lot of college football over the weekend. And I know it. That's kind of cranking up a little. What do you think of that Michigan game? Huh? Yes. Talk about the Monday morning over reaction show. Yeah. I'd like to our friend Dan Patrick supports guys said, now, was there time left or did they add time? Where was the time? Yeah. It was under a ham sandwich. They found it. They found it an extra second. And I thought he said after the fact, you know, they said the Western Michigan, they should have just run off the field and gotten the showers. It's over. We want it. It is what it is. If you want to run up another play, go ahead. Yeah. That was a shock. And then he was very mad that they stormed the field because that was tacked. Yeah. I mean, if you're playing,
if you're a 30 point favorite and you win the game, do you storm the field like you've done something special? It is. I mean, it had to be frantic. Yeah. But it was a tremendous exciting thing. I like big blue. Yeah. Go blue. Michigan, you know, but well, what do you do? Now, did either of you watch the tennis match that went to 333 in the morning? I heard about that because I was watching ESPN after the football game and they had tennis coverage. So, I guess what happens? It's the US Open and the US. Yeah. They have a five match thing or whatever. So some games are two hours. Some games are five and a half hours. So you can't. You never know. Yeah. So the writer that I heard an interview and he said, I think they need an overhaul. They need an overhaul in this thing because you can't predict the biggest moment of this guy's life. It went from 40,000 or whatever. However, many people fit in that thing. There were about 7,000 people still in this dance at 333. I think even that's impressive.
That it was. And this is New York City. It's right there. It's a weeknight. And this guy has the biggest, biggest moment of his life. He wins and there's everybody is asleep. Yeah. It's 330 in the morning. But the city's almost asleep. Yeah. And anyway, the story was pretty fascinating. But this is happening more and more where these great moments happen where most of America is like checked out and they need an overhaul. And it's hard to get caught up on all the high. But when you have a match that goes five hours or whatever, then you can. Brian says he watched that match. Really? And he stands at 330 in the morning. Well, actually, for us, it would have been 1230. Right. Right. Right. Still late. With all that, that's way late. So I thought that was pretty interesting story. And the reporter guy, he's like, then we had to go do press conference. Right. That's right. Then I'm on a platform in New York City trying to get
a subway back to my hotel at 5am or whatever. He said, which is not a pleasant experience. So you got all these New Yorkers leaving, you know, a lot of New Yorkers take the subway to get to places like that. Anyway, he said the logistics involved are just horrible. They've got to fix this thing. And then he's got to be back there at 10am. Yeah. Yeah. I was listening to him talk to people on my way out of here yesterday. So he was already up and talking to, you know, the MPR people like, how was it and stuff? So yeah. Flushing meadow, I believe. That's right. Where they play. Oh, that's right. Yeah. Outside of Queens. It's like one of their, is that the last major for tennis? I'm not sure. I don't know. The three, the sisters are back. They were I think they I think they got knocked out. They stormed off. Oh, yeah. I don't think they stormed well. I think there were one of them stormed off. Really? What did they? Well, here's stuff. They're 48 and 46 years old. So that's remarkable. Yeah. Yeah. That's pretty amazing.
I don't know so much about tennis. Oh, it's a good topic. Hey, you're checking there. Yeah. How is Ken's week? What was the tell us more about the you said there was more on the screen situation. What's the what's the story on the screen? I entered about Labor Day. A lot of stuff going on. I did we had a lot of guests and we'll talk about that. But when they left, I said, hey, there's two screens that have gashes in them. And I fixed them individually. But I did to do exactly what happened. On one of the windows, there was definitely a dog paw smear. Oh, come up to the window. Oh, uh, other dog. That's the that's the mystery. Oh, God. I it was definitely a dog paw that punched through the screen. I could tell. Oh, boy. Now we need to know the dog and whose dog was it? That's did your daughter bring some dogs? No. Well, there's family dogs. You're so cute.
She wants to get to the bottom of this right now. That's what I was like last night. Yes. And then the the other screen, I thought it kind of got graffiti. But I absolutely know it got escorted with like a spray nozzle because it was kind of squiggly lines. And it was so. And I believe I believe there was probably a bee on there and somebody said, oh, let's get it and it it punctured holes because of the force. Boy, that's a pretty strong force for the nozzle. And I think that's a lot of evidence. And I could tell it got sprayed because there was a little rust on the side. See, I have it. Oh, boy, you really have feet on a deep dive on the screen. You have any suspects, Ken? A previous lake dwellers like who? Well, it's family now. No, okay. Well, no, wait, I think it's on the other side. On the other side. No, no, I don't. So they bring a dog a damn dog and then they're oh, the bee. And then they don't did they report.
No, they should report. Oh, you leave. You leave. And then just I don't know hope that nobody puts the show now. Are those screens now replaced or those are on deck? Oh, those are fixed. Oh, nice. Okay. And because I'm a guy and I accomplished something, I have to mention it every time. Yeah. Trish, look at that. Well, look how clean that is. It even looks better from the outside. What were driving by? He doesn't know what kind of point out their handiwork. So yeah, I did all your laundry this morning before he even caught up. It's like, okay, I get hurt. Are we now going to point out all the things we do for each other? Well, you know how guys are. You know, accomplished something. He does. But what about my dinner that I made? What about the dinner? Yeah, what's that good? Yes, it was so good. It was so good. So I think they should call you Ken Hopkins Screen Detective. Screen Detective? Yeah. I think that would be good because I go down rabbit hole with the screen.
You can fix it. But while you're fixing it, you're thinking, what happened to this? Every screen has a story. All it does. And if there was some kind of a crime committed, they could bring you in as their screen witness. Big could. Yeah. Yeah. I have two more screens to fix. Oh boy. One is a big slider. It's a big boy. It's like Dave's. Oh, yeah. I was a big boy. Where did that come from? Well, it's up there. It's the upstairs one. And what happened, Molly, is you know where the little candle is? Where you put your two fingers and then it never comes out right? And then she just send up sticking your hands through the screen. That's like my. There's big. There's a big and I don't blame anybody on that. It's in the upstairs bedroom. So how's that logistically working? On upstairs deck? How do you get up there? Well, I just roll around. There is. Yeah.
So the upstairs? How high up is it? Well, it's an outside round. But it's all paved. They have a little trail. And I said that was great for me, but it is great for everybody. Is it? It is. You knew it's great for me. I'm my screen sitting there. I'm leaving it on display. It's right near the. I don't really need the AC anymore, but I can't get it out of there myself. So it's sitting ready to be put back up. Yeah, we took out. We don't have AC, but we have like these swamp coolers, but they're they go in the window like a unit. And they're, they're pretty wonderful. Yeah. And I took one out yesterday and that's when I said that screen has a hole in it. Oh, that stand. Yeah, I, yeah, I came in a little hot, but. No, do you when you go to people's houses, are you drive around or just do you see that do you notice screens all the time now?
Not really. No. Not really. I'm more of an apprentice on the screen. But you don't notice like, well, what I could do to that screen. Oh, my God. You know, I could now now that you mention it, it is so nice to have a brand new screen. Well, welcome everybody back to screen talk. Screen talk. Screen talk. Yeah. Yeah. Like a home improvement type segment. Michelle says Ken's got a new show CSI screen. CSI screen. Yeah. Crime scene and investigation screens. Who did that? Mr. Ed said the same thing I did. Ken Hopkins screen detective. Yes. Yes. We think the same way Mr. Ed. Oh, yeah. It is. Maybe Ken can help Dave with his life is a little free like library. Did you hear what happened to the free library? Oh, the one you built. Yes. Yeah. What? No, I have not heard. Well, it came crashing down. Oh, was it during that storm? No. It was too heavy. There's too many books. It's a very active. I mean, I don't know the data on all
of these little home library things that people have. Those are cool. But this one had a lot of activity. Books going in, books going out, a lot of activity on the on the door. And then when it finally collapsed, I took the remains. Oh, sadly. And and and lifted the the the little house. And it was heavy. Yes. I don't think it was made for so much work. So this weekend, I think. You're going back out of it. Well, I'm going to go back out. I got to we got to build a more stable top. How many advice? I'm not I haven't done the instant library. Okay. But in general when you're building, there are rules of thumb that you could maybe talk to talk to. Yeah. Well, and I and I as much as Ken has asked about this, he's probably 15, 20 times in the last week or so. Yeah. He says, wouldn't the wouldn't the little library look better with a screen door on it? I said, no,
we don't there's no need that way. They're not all things have to have a screen. They can appear in and look at the titles. He's really pushing the screen. Yeah. He's really pushing the screen. So on that anyway. But in and amongst the the whole library weekend, I hope your your break was good. We had our in eastern half you and there are little girls from boy T came up. Charlotte Charlotte and Clara Clara. They are four and two. Oh boy. The most active little girls and my my nephew Blake, their dad. He is he's out number three to one in his house. The females. Yeah. Oh yeah. They do run it. He dry he brought his boat up, which was which was the old he inherited and bought the old family boat. And I said every Hopkins from me up, remember that
boat. So it was so cool to see that he's and he takes it right on the long like the right where you guys are just right there. He put a new motor in it. He brought it from Boise. He brought it from his right. Yes. Here's what he does. Um, he packs up the truck and and the boat left early. Uh-huh. And Ben met the girls because the girls outnumber him. Right. The girls flew. Oh, they fly. Oh, he drives the bird said, did you get it? The airport he goes, yeah, I got there 10 minutes before they landed. So it's perfect. It's just efficient in so. And did they fly home too? They flew home. He took him out to the airport. So the boat stays. Who stayed morning? No, he packed up the boat and he drove down. Oh, the girl flew the girls flew both ways and he drove both ways. Okay. Exactly. Hold is the boat. The boat was born in 1966. Wow. That's so cool. My grandfather bought it and it was a big deal. It's like a aluminum hole. How many people sit in it?
Um, it's six. It's like a fishing boat kind of thing. No, it doesn't need a screen. Uh-huh. No screen. No screen. No, it's just a recreational. Uh-uh, we too been old learned how to ski. We were forced to learn how to ski back in my day. And then you pulled a hammy. Yeah. That was bad. That was later on. That was discussed over the weekend. Was it? Because when you pulled the hammy? Well, Blake, my nephew, he was the one driving the boat when I pulled the hammy. And my wife was in the boat as well. I think my son was there. And he refused to help me out of the water because he basically said the ski was planned on top of the water and you were under the water. You held on too long. So that I guess for that's your penalty. He sees he sees hide it right
there. So, uh, yeah, he's strong. How old is he? He is 40. He is the age of our marriage. Did you hear that, Molly? Yeah. So he's 40. So he was he was 10 months old and I was like 20. Like he was when how long go did the hammy happen 20 years ago? I'd said, they're probably 20. Yeah. Maybe 15. Yeah. It was, uh, yeah, I was I was walking barely. Yeah. I did learn something about a pulled hammy. You have to you have to wrap it and wrap it really tight. Yeah. And there's nothing they can do. It's just time is the only thing that fixes it. Yeah. Time time heals. It's the same. What's the one in the front? The quad? That I did that. And once you do it once. And oh my god. And it hurt. So it was from, you know, playing sports and you jump it like you run fast out of the the batter box. And once it pings, it's like it's a well, and I don't want to be a, you know, I don't
want to predict this because it's kind of putting ill will out there. But the opening week of the NFL season, a lot of pulled hammies because a lot of these guys aren't playing full speed. And then all of a sudden they get out there and out and then they're screwed because again, it's a time is the only thing that helps. And if they try to come back too fast, you can really wreck it. And so be careful out there. A lot of injuries in the football world. Careful with those hammies. Yeah. Stretch. Stretch. Stretch. So when he realized you were severely injured with your hamstring pulled that he feel bad for it, it is still say you just hung on too long as you're fouled. He did repeat that phrase. And I said, I know I hung on too long, but you know, what's done is done. What now I have a whole new out. Now. Yes. Now I am now I'm here. But we just had a ton of fun out there. And it was off and on. And then we had that gigantic storm. Yes. In rain coming down.
And that's when you're that's when your library fell apart, right? Dave, they're in the big storm. Yes. The storm took out. Yeah. I mean, it wiped out houses too. I mean, even the most well-built. I saw a brick house go down. So I mean, he didn't get happened. Look at see that. Gotta fix that. The one thing I loved is a little Charlotte's four. She's almost five. And every night she wanted to have a glow party, which was we went down to the main level, turned on some music at start. And both Blake and I had little lasers. And she had this little laser thing. And so, you know, on the roof right above us, we just had a glow party in the laser. And I got to be in charge of the music. DJ can return. Because it was a former DJ. And since both of the Blake and Steph, they both graduated in the 90s. So I know that music. White outcast and
black eyed peas. All those were days. It was all how old were you? I was at seventh grade. And then I had to bring up a couple of the vanguard boys. The vanguard boys. Oh, dada dada dada. I'm blue. Bye bye. D. Bye bye. And they just thought this is this is middle school coming. So we had the glow party. That's fine. That's what they play when the Indian score. They play the dada dada dada. And I don't know. And everybody, you know, cheers for a little bit. You guys have the breakfast boys. There's something. There was one that was included. You had the breakfast boys in Molly. Dada dada dada. Somebody made a song for us. They did. That was awesome. Don't you think we should bring Karnie man back? The fair and I. Oh, Karnie. Karnie. Karnie. Karnie. Karnie. Karnie. Oh, Karnie. Karnie. Karnie. Man. Some were crank up that ride, Mr. Karnie.
Karnie. So longer song too. Yeah. Didn't you have an edited version? I thought we did an edited version. I had two versions. Very good memories. Oh, somewhere. I remember one birthday a long time ago. I did. We were always talking about the behind the music where half hour it's great. And then at 40 something terrible. And I did a behind the music to Karnie man. I don't know. It was like, I taped one of them where there was a guy named Dave in the band. I can't talk. And then Dave went dark on us. It was like that. You know, all that audio still exists somewhere, but we can't, we can't get it. No. No. Yeah. They changed the password. But just think of it as as as Saturday's is for us and for all of the listeners and everything. Just think how good they feel though. I mean, they got to feel great.
They got it. Yeah. Yeah. They have to feel good just keeping it from us our whole life's work. I still I tried to break in a couple of weeks ago on the password and evil. Capital E, I L underscore nasty. Did you try the idiot series? Because there's one of the passwords. It's a capital I. Oh, but then you'd be different numbers and you got to capitalize and then acceleration marks and stuff. It's yeah. I think the numbers are 666. But I got it. Passwords are crazy. Anywho. That is that we do have our CDs though. Yeah. I got the one. Karnie man, I think it's is on one of the CDs. Isn't it? Okay. Let's find it. You know, when we were moving getting all our stuff organized, I found a couple of cassettes that were unopened of our original one.
Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They have some. Oh, yeah. I wonder if it still plays. Oh, I'm sure it does. Yeah, I have them as collector items. I have I have the all of the CDs and all of the cassettes with the seal like it's just for just sort of my plan is to never open that. Yeah. Put it in the museum. I think we have upstairs. I think somebody I have a bag of CDs that somebody gave us of our old team. Maybe it was our friend Jeff. Somebody gave us one of the CDs. It's just a matter of getting it into our systems so we can play. Yeah. I've got a little tiny stack of our very first sticker, the rectangle. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I worked at the AM and FM and all the different colors. I was blue. A lot of color skis. Yeah, a lot of colors. There was one year. So you guys had your two in Dave Kendans day and Dave and confused. Then we did the 2000. Right. The three of us. Then in 2001, Tosh and I did a boot like they didn't want to do
the thing. The under the. Yeah. So we just did them ourselves and I don't have that. That was like the thong song. I have with that. I have that somewhere. Do you have that? I couldn't find that. I need to do it. And the fall is when I, you know, people always say, Oh, spring cleaning blah, blah, blah. For me, it's fall cleaning. That's when I do all of the really deep dive. So I've been, you know, into a situation the other day where I'm cleaning stuff that hasn't been done for a while. Well, I will go down in the basement at some point and start to organize that. But that's where a lot of that. Our old stuff is for you know, for the first, I'd say almost 10 years when I came back, came back in 92. But that's when we would have the show on a cassette. And I have boxes and bought years and I have them labeled by years. And it's all cassette. And then I'll write on it like, oh, this was, you know, free donut Friday. And so I would put, you know, I'd label it if we had a special guest on.
Right. When we had Glenda, the psychic member, the one of the many psychics that we had on the show. Is that a singing psychic? No, she was a different sick. She was right. I think you're going to have real good day, oh yeah. What was the singing psychic's name? Oh, somebody will remember. And I think you're a real nice guy. And it was all, she'd play it from a little jukebox and we like an Elvis song. And you're going to have a real good summer. You are a good girl. And I can see. I can see. You're a real great guy. There may be a new car in your features. You're a real good guy. Uh-huh. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, there was the singing psychic. She was from Dallas. And she claimed she's probably passed down. It's been years and years to have. But she claimed that she got her special psychic powers when she got hit by a semi-truck.
Yes. Remember? I got it. That was her real story. And we had no knowledge. All the radio people just said, hey, you got to get the squirrel on this thing. She's the singing psychic and she does all this stuff. So I didn't know exactly what we were getting into. And then when she starts telling those stories, it was like, oh my God. It was very, very entertaining. Well, I don't know what happened. I had an accident with a semi-truck. And then I started seeing visions. And I can see that you're a real nascar. Yeah, yeah. I think most of her sentences started with, I can see. Yeah. And then do you remember the sex therapist that we have had on? I do. Laura Korn was her name. Laura Korn. And she had, she had a very successful career writing books about relationships. And all the things you're supposed to do to and with your person. Oh. Yeah. Well, I'm him. If it's all in the book, I don't have the book. I don't know how to spell psychic. Do it.
Say. S. He has an eye. Oh, there we go. C-8. Got it now. It. I don't know why I couldn't. Let's see. Let's see. No, spoke in accurately. A bonkers. Hang on a second. There was Lanny. No, Angela. No. Mm-hmm. Singing psychic. Oh, my gosh. This would have been from years ago. A large year. This was like in the 90s. I would say mid 90s, maybe. Francis from Bakersfield. Was it Francis? Franny. She was involved in an accident. Is it Francis? Yes. Francis Bakersfield. It's her name. Okay, but she's from Texas. She's from Texas. Yes. That's her. She has to wait in 2009. Oh. Oh. When she had an incident with an 18-wheel lumber truck at back into her car while she was waiting outside a beauty parlor, the lumber crashed through the car, almost killed her. But it also caused her to have an out of body experience.
And after that experience, she said, she had psychic abilities. That's it. But being a country and Western fan, she would see her predictions. Oh, yes. So that was why. That is awesome. That's on the internet. Oh, she's true. Francis Baker. Francis Baker. Bakerville is her name. Okay. And yeah, she's cute. She's very cute. I can see a real nice guy. Look at Pitya don't lie. That's pretty good. Do do do do do do do do do do do do. Do do do do do do. No. Music and it would be like, we had talked to her on the phone and then you could tell often the distance was the music and then she would say, it was just right. Yeah. It was so primitive. It wasn't always synced up. Right. It was like, okay. It's plain. Oh, those were days I tell ya. Yes. Lot of good days. I left to find that. And then I remember. I had like a Freudian slip at the end. I said, oh, well, you've been great.
And once again, this is the sinking psychic. I mean singing psychic That's how it was just kind of a disaster Sometimes the worst things are the best things they turn out to be the good one Laurie listen to number 16 free donut Friday. She won a free donut Friday one time Hey, we used to do that every Friday. We would do after the show we finished the show. We were tired Fridays are hard even back then finish the show then we go pick up the donuts Yes, and then we'd make the deliveries to all the different businesses and some of they'd be all over the place We'd get back to the station around 1230 and we're just We're just and can out of the goodness of his heart He was usually driving the van and I was usually falling asleep. I had had enough and once on why we'd have like a Promo person. Yeah, yeah, yeah, but sometimes it was out in court line Yeah, one And How many donuts would you eat and then how soon would that be a bad idea? Well
Fair question. We would always have some And who was the donut who made the donut? They were they were heavy don't it? Don't it pray it was the donut cattle the donut cattle That's right. You know how heavy a cattle Yes, and and there'd be times when if we had a longer drive and the donuts be stacked the boxes would be sagging and then when we would take them into the businesses You know and it was quite a moment for them like oh we've won donuts and oh David canter here This is so great and they'd come out well the the bottom of the box was had luck the oil steam You know Have your donuts Like the cake ones that oh I can I can pick one of them that it was a apple fritter these they were used They used it it was down in Pullman. They used it as a Discus in the track and field event right there were masks those things
That was a different time. Yeah people had to fax in their request. That's how that's how long the boat was you would fax in your On business letterhead and they would come in They were you know Joe's auto body shop or whatever we have seven of us here We want donuts for free and we pick winners The We try to pick it you know Didn't we do did we do one business or a couple I can't we did where are times when we did three or four I mean there was there was always more than one we try to look at the addresses and make it Yeah, this is all before map quest, too, so we're just we're just going on right? We're just like okay Well, we think it's out here Valley somewhere. I know Clarkson. We're not going down there What's wrong with you people? There were a couple of Christmas wish deliveries that were very early in the morning and in questionable areas Where's the thing why yeah, we have the address and we think it's between this street and this street
It's dark and we're going to go live on the air and the dogs are barking and all this craziness is happening and you're hoping to God It's the right address otherwise you make it shot. It always started like we'd finished the letter and you know so and so we we really You know help out and everything okay now we have you know We had different people that were the one time Leslie low is our elf one year And so and Leslie is standing by and you ready to approach the door and yeah, I'm right here at the door And I'm ready to knock and you always be just like this So we Every one of them we like that Scooter no, they would be very quiet very you wouldn't hear a sound
And whispering and as soon as the dog as soon as the knock on the door You knew exactly how many dogs were in the house And then there's the person who's on the phone because I know because I had to do it I see we've won and you start you back up away and you sort of turn away. So it's not so loud. Oh, yeah I see lights coming on now Oh, the dog is so cute It's that now is your dog nice. He's fine. What can I do for you? The breakfast boys and I have them on the phone and then he was like Hand the phone off and then try to save yourself from the dog Jammy's that you're not wearing Yeah, but everything turned out fine. I think no They took that too I guess they wanted that too. I know Well, we don't know why Laurie wrote a poem and won her free Maybe that's what it wasn't a poem do we have for Paul? It's kind of a reason why so people would get all creative
Yeah, I think if someone did write a poem that's probably why she won it's probably oh look at the they put some work into this entry what they did No Well, and we had the worst joke Wednesday. That was fun had that in there and Pre-don't Friday Ask anything Thursday remember that oh, yeah people would ask all kind we live phones We just go to the wall and we had no phone screen where the people just call in and they would ask all kinds of questions Right, you would have hated it. They would ask all about of your marriages and stuff. Yeah You mean anything I haven't settled ready? I know what the first Call we went to the guy said why don't you guys have a phone screen? Then we had to go into that And then you said the effort to hung up Um, we should do that again. We should do the take phone calls Why don't we do that? I think we should do that instead of the limba loves of anguish I think we should just open up the phone lines and have people ask us whatever they want Well, if we don't want to answer is hang up duh
Oh, we had a time I'm just hang up. Hmm how many marriages I oh, I'm sorry Kim. We have lost you That's too bad like in junior high if we don't we we say duh Yeah What adult does that? duh What duh No duh I hate go with a lot of kids That's why Oh on Facebook fight. Yeah, we should do that too. Oh, that's right. Well, we actually did a Look a few of those here. Yeah, we did do those first Yeah, Facebook fight. Yeah, that it Quinn, I think had to be part of the Facebook fights. That's right. Hmm That's right. Yeah Well, let's do this. We'll do a break here and then um, we'll uh, we'll extend the uh, the hot topics and then if you And if you want, we could we just say all right people can call in we can just answer phones Or you could you can walk a go wrong. Oh, that's a better way Yeah, why don't we think about that? Question time. Yeah, if we don't like the question, we don't read duh
