0:00we now return to the day the mollyshow and welcome back everybody the day the mollyshow continues and now it's time for the envelopes of anguish uh... making its return to the program uh... we used to do this and then we didn't do it for a while then we did it last week big hit big hit so it's back to make it a comeback uh... here's how our small is got all the envelopes uh... they look like they're all filled with anguish uh... will be called upon to pull one of the envelopes and you can see on the outside of the envelope show them it's a says can confidential on so you know it's in red yeah uh... that's red upper uh... uppercase so it's like a so we pick an envelope and then inside is the question that we must answer on the spot right okay there are always some questions well we have a list of the possible questions oh come up in there uh... there's sort of sent me out my class i just i was already get it's odd because it happened at the same time

5:10absolutely amazing for him to then i started to think about about my situation like i'm a disaster i'm a mess but but i have a lot of people that are that are around me that that are you know they're they're trying it's very they're trying very hard to keep me afloat keep me keep me so so i don't think i'm a total failure because i have friends yeah well yeah so let me ask you this because i feel like i have great friends as well um minor better hmm i think yours have a bigger job you're busy maybe you might have a higher threshold to but with your son and your daughters do they as good friends as they are then are they part of like now Joe needs to move so now we're part of that crew uh i think so yeah yeah so that because i think that becomes and i think as you get older that

6:11so for a certain age that is the thing that they need then it becomes older it's like support because you're losing parents so you're losing this or you're losing that right your very it yeah it's not physical stuff as much as it is whatever but um i think that those friends is like everybody has to be an agreement that we all do that for each other not just right right i have great friends and they you know you're part of it and everybody gives the way whether they bring the humor or they bring the fun or the spirit everybody's giving back yeah there's a lot of you know and there's the other phrase the whole it takes a village kind of a thing when you're when you're when you have kids and they're growing up and they're little it does like well you know i can't make it to you know can you take the kids of the practice and it's always like oh yes of course because we're all kind of in this together that kind of stuff but then as you get older into young adulthood and then older adulthood you have you have a people that you can tell truly care

7:12they're not they're not just saying that oh i'm your friend i'll you know help you through this or i'll do this or i'll whatever i mean they're really they're really but they're actively asking hey can i do this for you before you right because you know it's hard to ask for stuff you know it's like it's kind of invested into the process yeah so i think the the whole friendship thing as long as you have really good friends around you i think you're gonna be okay and then we see all these different studies about the people that live the longest yeah they all have a very strong social group or their very social people yeah there is something that absolutely is important to your mental health for that. Well we get like we had to go ask Molly and the woman had like crappy friends and i think that we see a lot of that where you see people who don't have a good friend network that there's people who are you know not just it's it we shouldn't take it for granted we're lucky we've cultivated

8:18cultivated and i think that when you do have a good friend network is because what you've put out there to create it for sure but there are some people who i know who unlike they themselves are not great but they have the best friends you know that i know those people where it's like i kind of want to hang i don't like them but they're a friend who is awesome and you get that whole friend group to be there. Part of the part of that story too it comes from the you know the golf course too where i'll be playing with different people and every time i play with with a new person in a group that i've known forever what they always say man you have really good friends those are good people i'm glad i got to meet you know your friend Todd your friend you know all these people that that will always reference the friends that are in my group and so it's not that they're my friend they're they happen to be good people maybe that's i stumbled across them very good people somehow yeah some of them and the kids have done the kids do it too it's like man i really and i always make sure they tell me make sure you tell that that's that's a pretty cool thing that they're doing for you

9:23yeah they i think they get it yeah i think if you're appreciative that shows you know i would have to say some of well i'll include my wife some of our favor with our favorite people davir your friends and mali your friends like when we get together in the bigger circle and it's like oh my gosh you have to see you know don't see them a lot but it just love yeah love love it is yeah they're good i i feel lucky i have my friends i've had for a long time and they're i just think different phases in your life you see them more there used to be a time where we had dinner together every Sunday night and covid kind of blew that up right or we went to Charlie's every Saturday night i was going to say Charlie's yeah and then you have grandkids you have stuff and it's just sort of but you know they're always there you know in a special in a crisis like you have that group of people though that's pretty cool yeah that's good that you have good friends yeah yes all working hard

10:23yes they're working very hard they are doing all they can yeah but i think that going back to the original thing with the with the movie line it's like that's you know that's a movie from the what is that the 40s i mean it's almost a hundred years old right yeah 85 years old but but that that statement or that thing is that that can be important for anyone for forever yeah yeah most of the if you can stay on the good side of people most good people i like the line and i used to the other day we're talking to our friend who used to have a winery now he has a distillery and he's using the old wine to make the gin and the vodka and i said everything is on its way to somewhere and that's from phenomenon and that is he takes a bite of an apple and then he's talking to the the kids because he's you know he's dying but that it's when it can's favorite lines but i like that line it's it's true everything is on its way to somewhere it's a good line from a movie it holds true it's a great line and also that's a pretty effing good milkshake mean that's good

12:41Ken on there so i put that on it says recipient oh god fair enough okay but i'll go with that uh you know maybe think the other day i am i am happiest with a project i just am i remember way back in the radio days we i mean you guys remember you just grind it out and you know everybody would say oh you kind of have a hobby and i would always either run or biker do something like that but i was always happiest with like a screwdriver or an or wrench and uh um parapliers uh working on stuff and since we have uh kind of relocated out to the uh lake house quite a few little i mean we had to condense everything into just one floor uh so among my projects a garment rack Trish ordered a gold oh of course you have to put it all together

13:46yes uh and that the pieces were laying on our main dining area table for like three weeks and at every time i thought all i need to wd 40 that is like oh that garment racks there and so i finally got that done off the board project and then um you know i had the screens waiting a few screens all stacked up but uh right in front of the screens laying against it uh Trish ordered a deck box a nice big plastic deck box that you could put life jackets in and this and that for like oh going to put it on all for the lay oh yes yeah okay okay yeah yeah yeah just giant table size plastic chunks finally two nights ago i said you've gotta do that deck box why are you doing and i got the tunes going uh i got my tools out and it's pretty cool because you can snap it all together basically

14:53and then you have to put the screws in every you know solidify it so i'm kind of working in shifts and it was later in the evening it was a dusk and we're real close to the lake so fishermen just uh uh or fisher people they they can just float right by and they're just quiet as a mouse but i noticed three teenagers they're standing up on their boat and they have a like a big flashlight big like a headlight oh they're doing night fishing and i'm thinking hey i'm out here with my tools yeah my tunes going and in your happy place i kind of look up and wave and they wave back at me i'm trying to be real quiet but i got my music going and then i realized it was as i was trying to be hip with the kids it was playing a Taylor Swift song i think a fate of a Philea or something so the next time they came floating by at least it was on a rock song nice yeah i think it was like

15:57yeah sleepy hollow or whoever that age was it was uh it was that sleep uh uh uh the most searched ever sleep uh dang it sleep tune sleep yeah how do we forget that already forgot that anyway so i track on that um so when you have finish up that and then i get to the screens because i like you and Molly's screen got finished and you know i just loved it and i poked my head in our slider screen which is really our front door yeah Trish was in watching tv and i said i think i found my happy place oh and i said it and i quote and she laughed and said do you want to watch the 50th season of survivor and i laugh oh you guys and you happy place but i just i just have an a project i liked it you like it because i had a project that you know i was building

16:59the little uh library house you know right right and i do enjoy it when it's going well but you know you're gonna make sure all the parts match up and oh okay that's saying screws so it must be these screws because i gotta save these screws for later and and as the project comes together i i didn't enjoy it but it was also like i i don't know if i'm good at this is this happening yeah somebody's probably you're you would probably be way better at telling you this i am on type A i get out the instructions and i just i just have to pour over them really you know it's see that's my problem with your instructions i do do it well i just i want to see the picture of it like what does it look like when it's done and then i'll start working and then i'll check with the instructions but what it says start with panel e and there's four of them that look the same yeah you got the new teeny e down with the bottom there's a look for the sticker yeah uh-huh

18:01we were having this conversation Tuesday i picked up the girls and scarlet likes to go into the kids room turn on her tv i bring her a mixture of snap she likes a bowl of like five different kinds of chips so she likes a sampling oh no and then a root beer glass of milk or something oh pre and i walked in and she was watching tv she was so happy and i said this is your happy places in it she said oh yes she said where's your happy place and i didn't say the casino but you were thinking no i said i think it's my RV i said i truly a piece when we get when we get camped somewhere not epic casino just like it the along the lake or when we go to the coast we get it all set up and we sit down and we play cribbage and hang out and it's truly a happy place that is minus the golf course when uh someone else is paid for the round yeah the other day i also like an airplane ride oh yeah if it's good it can be horrible airplane you know we get bad

21:11forget right okay any sort of music festival if it says festival afterwards yeah um um the well it's no longer with us but the pig out in the park was a joyful event that i did not i kind of with you know joyful for a couple of years yeah with the right aged yeah yeah but it was not tough uh weddings not my favorite oh well you've had so many i know um bad memories from the four here's the thing about weddings is that i i go into with a bad attitude because i just look at it like this is never gonna last i don't care how much you love each other now Quinn i'm looking for to Quinn oh that'll be great Quinn and a maddie that i am looking forward to because i adore both of them and i do think that they will last and and a lot of people who get married do last but because and and and and the toast and the dancing and all of the hoopla what a perfect question the way it was word a joyful event these are supposed to be

22:19very nice things and now you're crushing them all you know the thing about i love going to the weddings of the the kids of nowadays yeah they do things so differently yes they do last summer we went to two weddings uh both well done one the bride and groom walked back as a married couple to all of the by john linan oh john legend yeah the other movie uh the other wedding we went to they walked back from being a married couple to kickstart my heart by motley crew yeah i said i agree both i was hot yeah i just love them well that and that's good yeah i don't know of i'm trying to think of what other joyful and i'm not gonna put Dave Matthews in the joyful category because well basically any concert that's not brandy for instance right walking back up from the billy jolt concert to reptile girl yes joyful for him joyful for the rest of the gang i wanted to

23:25just find an uber and i was like i know i'm like a roachidial bat when they got into the dewhop and then the the journey concert you left early and you stormed out of there and you were going to walk home what then you were reprimanded i missed that yeah so ken first of all it was a work night and we decided to uber down to the journey concert and we have several people who will back me up they were not playing the hits and on a weeknight i'm sorry but when you do a drum solo and a guitar solo and like a bass solo and don't play a hit and then you want me to stay up late how'd it been a Saturday night i would have been fine writing it out but i'm looking at the clock going we're gonna have to get out of here but then when we left uh even though it's a bite probably an hour before the concert was over they they wouldn't let ubers anywhere around the arena oh just 15 dropping kept dropping we're like we'll go to the talk about nope they dropped us so i decided because i was pissed i was

24:30gonna walk home through felony flats at night in flip flops mowley i know i got yelled at ken finally said stop you screamed at me so you were like blaze in the trail oh yeah he was he was a block and a half behind me and they're pitmills barking everywhere like car alarms going off team members doing things no i mean it was a bad scene yeah no i'm exaggerating meanwhile there were 10,000 other people having a joyous event yes you know just song yards away what songs could journey play that weren't hit what do they do when coming out with this is all out to steep back me up texture yeah well there were a lot of hits they played a lot of hits well that's good there were there was a significant uh i think the problem was they put like a non-hit with the drum solo and then another knot so you had to stretch words all right but you knew

28:46you dance to who's crying now and i thought that's a that's a shaky choice you don't you don't do that one so those are my non joyful unless you can think of anymore what do you think about buffets yeah oh i like it but face good right yeah but faith i i don't i shouldn't be trusted really at a buffet seem like cruises you'd think some better old bad like me wouldn't like a cruise but i love it like a cruise and i like socializing with the elders those are older people and stuff yeah yeah i like i like a cruise and i like that there's gluttony all the time i like that it's always that there's always somebody awake and right that's why i like Vegas i always like that when there's always somebody awake and i like that about northern quest now because even staying out in the park in the rb park i look back and i see the huge banner and i know that there's people in there there's something comforting about that for me in the glow yeah the glow of it all

29:52so that's it that covers it i know live music weddings good live music that's a broad category it's a very broad category but she backs it up because she even even her own her own favorite she doesn't you know you don't finish it no um i am we are excited about Chicago later this month and and this on this actual day i have two different memories that popped up one is the dry casino and one is when we went over to Seattle they were like exactly a year apart oh but the dry casino one was the best that was one of the best shows i've ever seen and the little river band at a northern quest was one of the best one of my favorite concerts i've seen i like the old school music so Chicago is and then we want to go to earth wind and fire we haven't heard back yet but that i like earth wind and fire too that'd be a great show for right yeah so a lot of brash yeah a lot of brash and also with the when we go to northern quest it's different because we're socializing we're chatting we're up we're not just sitting in a seat we're back and forth we're

30:53having you know but here's my thing to you what oh and i'll support you and a lot of stuff but if you're at earth wind and fire concert and they happen to go into a jam or a part where you don't think they're playing enough hits right i don't want to hear your gripping yeah because i i'm there to enjoy the show no i'm gonna enjoy it no matter what i'm not gonna be right even if i have to sit through a couple songs i don't know which i believe i know all of their songs probably they might have some new stuff well i don't you they can be be careful with the news and there a band that i would say oh my gosh i forgot that yes and you know so there's gonna be yeah you'll know it well i got a text from my friend Mary because she i don't i think with all the fire stuff she hasn't been paying attention to stuff but she said oh my god i would i want to go that they're my favorite but that's her favorite band and when we went to the Eagles thing that was her favorite part of the whole Eagles Lee would mag all of those she it was that's who she wanted to see the most why so yeah so we'll be there and if i if i gripe

31:57here's what i did with Chicago it was an inside concert and i they were playing so many horn things that i said i'm going to gamble now but the outside concert i wouldn't do that because it's way far away yeah it's different when you're in that pavilion you just pop right out yeah and i believe that they will do i think they'll save the encore for uh the September song will be the encore song and then i'll do you remember the seventh night of September there we go by god you're seeing the day it's so far they're talking to us they've made it special for us born and raised in here way high no they didn't do that they always have to work it is not yet to make it work yeah what other songs will they play uh they'll play uh well serpentine fire they'll play um i can't what are the earth when you fire i really know them all but google them up oh yeah i'm excited i hope that i hope that that'll that'll work out earth when you fire hits

36:13yell brick house they'll say that's that common or shit dummy because they would it's the same era yeah well Lionel kind of makes you think of that but yeah oh uh listener uh 50 Molly i went to earth wind and fire opening for Lionel Richie they were incredible well we saw them with Chicago in um Seattle i think it was either last year or two i think it was two years ago in 2024 it was the uh right before we started oh okay yeah hey i have a little Lionel redemption story because of the whole dancing on the ceiling yeah you have 20 more favorite dates i was in one of my favorite music stores the other day rose ours and and i started and i saw him on i was going boom i knew it was eight this is eighties i couldn't really play sitting i wasn't even thinking and it just kept bumping along and then he said we were running with the night and i said this is a great song we were running with the night oh yeah we were dancing

37:21on the ceiling no no no no it wasn't that but i thought he was running with the night and it's got a nice intro for a radio i've come around online or itchy too yeah and he's had some yeah he said he's an American treasure and they say he's one of the nicest guys ever i have heard that and then uh still as still as a masterpiece that song still oh right um right or yeah so so on this day in 2024 we were flying over to Seattle to see Chicago and earth win and fire wow and then the year right before that i said i keep making jokes about new music and the dry casino but all jokes aside because uh Chicago was amazing the music was tight they played the hits blew everyone away thank you can enjoyed watching it very cool when somebody says to you you're going to go to a casino in top of the sh that we're gonna have zero alcohol there oh no music the dry casino

38:22like it was completely quiet oh say that doesn't sound but that was the best don't think have music playing on the back row lid so it's like quiet and dry what's it telling you Dave you don't even get to get your own sodas you have to walk up to a counter and they're like we have pre-prepared sprite coke and diet coke which one would you like wow and no smoking and no but seriously if there was music it was like very very quiet the machines were all turned down low elevator and then you go into the bathroom and it's like a rock concert like laughing music in the bathrooms yeah we were laughing about it i said i don't even want to go i like i went back to the trailer the to the camper i said i don't even want to gamble too quiet there's nothing in there for me hmm wow crazy boy i bet those horns sure blew through loud when Chicago huh but i have to say a very sober respectful crowd yes they're all standing there like yes we approve of what we're hearing no talking no photos right so you so you're going to a wind fire
