Dee Winters Joins Cowboys, Ready to Ball

On April 30, Dallas Cowboys just pulled off a slick trade,

snaggin' linebacker D Winters from the San Francisco 49ers for 5th round.

Pick. Winters, a Texas native out of TCU,

was straight moving into his new spot in Arlington last Friday night,

when Cowboys exec Stephen Jones hit him with.

The call.

Dude wrapped his third NFL year with a breakout performance last season.

Building on that momentum,

Winters balled out in 2025,

starred in all 17 games with 101 tackles,

8 for loss,

5,

pass breakups,

and even a pick 6.

Now he's back home,

ready to lock down for the Cowboys' defense under coordinator Christian Parker.

Winters couldn't hide the shock at first,

but he's all in now,

saying everything happens for a reason.

Going from the Niners set up to Dallas' 3-4 base is fresh territory,

but he's hyped about getting put in space to use his speed and physicality.

Parker's scheme and to deploy him smart,

maybe even a Mike linebacker with the green dot-colon plays.

Winters got a taste of that last year amid injuries,

but it's mostly new means more film-grind

and vocal leadership to run the show.

Headed into a contract year in 2026,

Winters knows the stakes are high for his fam and career.

He's locked in to make plays in this system
