Ødegaard Leads Arsenal to Comeback Victory

This is how things sounded when the final whistle blew. And the champions struck the first big capital blow. Michele has an overshabby in the battle of the BASTS. Arsenal pull rank. They imposed their status. They know who they are. They're catching Mr. Match winner. Martin Erichard with a vigorous dump five minutes into the second half. Kai Havats having equalized Morgan Rogers having established a very, very early Chelsea lead.

1:04But Chelsea part also because of the brilliant elasticity of David Ryan near the end. He embraces the guy he denied. Arsenal remain perfect and Chelsea are beating for the first time. Yeah, that gas from David Ryan. We knew Arsenal were the better team and they've proven that in this game. The question before today was though how close were Chelsea? And I think that man Javier Lanzo will be proud of what he's seen. There's obviously improvements to make but his team give it a right good go. A lot of very good things. They'll be frustrated. Nobody's appointed. But look back potentially on this game as being maybe a good moment rather than as bad as it'll feel right now. And so three games in just two perfect records. Persist city and Arsenal together at the top. And for short, Dave, that rings a bell. Beltingame. Arsenal two.

2:05Chelsea one. Peter Gary, thank you very much. You didn't take us long to get there. Did it Arsenal and city out in front of the two sides? Ian Wright, does that feel even on match day three like a big win for the champions? Yeah, I think so. Especially with Chelsea's form when it started the season. I'm asking to be fair, start the season well as well. But like being the champions and Chelsea coming in with the new signings, the front three. A lot of talk about the front three and right. So I know very, very good players. Today, but at the same time, we, where everything that people said we weren't, you know, we're aggressive, you know, we're technical. We're, you know, we've got everything that you any game you want to play against Arsenal, they're ready to go. That was a good one for us, you know, especially the conceding so early and then just after that just really taking the game over. Celebrations of the coaches, I think, told a story from the Arsenal bench, but from the Chelsea perspective, Daniel beating yes, but is that progress? I mean, I don't know when you say progress, I'm not sure exactly how it's progressed because, you know,

3:08I feel as if they started the game well, but ultimately, you know, there's still, you can see that there are a few things that need to change in order for them, for them to be as fluid as they could be. You can see that there's a communication's not perfect. They've threatened Arsenal at, you know, various different moments of times, but I think they are very much leaning into the front three right now and you can see that everything behind that's kind of coming together. They look like they're very seamless and the creativity and the chemistry's there, but outside of the front three, you can see that it's still a working progress. Three plus one, Estevelle almost had the decisive moment in the game, didn't he, from the bench and denied by an extraordinary say from Gabbard Ryer. To give Arsenal the victory, to keep their 100% record intact and yes, you are there. Three games into the season, Manchester City and Front Velociut goals scored from Arsenal and they have identical goal difference after three games in third place. Whole City yet to concede and they played Chelsea next, which is going to be absolutely fascinating.

4:13Chelsea, you're deciding at top half to lose. Across this weekend, we have five draws yesterday. Manchester United and Ebberton, we saw draw earlier stunning equaliser later on from Ainsley, mate and the Niles, if you haven't caught up on that, just yet Crystal Palace, pulling themselves away, are getting their first points of the season and are only two sides there to point on the board just yet, full and the champions of the championship, commentary city. Lightning star from Chelsea, but after all, their sleeves up like champions do and the champions found a way to beat Chelsea with a touch of class from Martin Erdogard, 16 shots to 13, 9 on target to 5 from Chelsea. In fact, 6 shots faced on target from Arsenal this season. 5, don't know how to enjoy the music. 5 on 10 from Chelsea today. Look at that expected gold telly. Arsenal have dominated that statistic today. Maybe partly explained by the fact that only 5 of those 13 Chelsea shots came inside the box. You're the man for me. So, it's Mick LRT to Martin Erdogard. No wonder he's smiling. He's already doubled his telly of last season on the gold scoring stakes. Classy winner from him. And he's giving his reaction to Patrick Davison and he will be joined. I'm told by Ezri Conzer.

6:17Well, Martin, does it feel like you've won a proper heavyweight game of Premier League football there? Yeah, definitely. It was a big game, massive game. Tough opponent. You know, really hard for us. It's a really good team, you know. So it was a big fight. Sorry, I got there in the end. So, yeah, brilliant. And here he is. The debut board. Do you feel properly like an Arsenal player after that? Yeah, definitely. I felt home from the first moment I drank. The boys have been taught the staff have been taught. And, yeah, buzzing to meet my debut at home and three points is the most important. So what you think in those first few seconds, not the gold was anything to do with you, but you go one day all down. And to be fair, it was a hell of a reaction from the team. Yeah, it's quite a football. Something's happened. It's all about how you react. You know, over here, I know we're big on clean sheets. So, yeah, it's disappointing. But look, like you said, it's about how we react to be react to fantastically. And, yeah, like I said, my point of thing is the three points. It was a really relentless response, Martin, to go in behind.

7:20Is that the game state that the fact you are behind in a match? Or are we seeing the champion team from last season even started to add layers on what you did in the last campaign? Yeah, I mean, that's our mentality. You know, we always want to just keep fighting. We've shown that many times, you know. And, yeah, concealing early is never ideal, but I think the reaction was top, as you say. And I thought we played really well in the first half. Could have scored some more goals. And, yeah, we kept on playing the second half and we got our reward, you know, in the end. So, I think it was a brilliant performance. And it's so much talk going into, I don't know if you hear this actually, but it's so much talk about their attack. I sort of thought going into it, you know, if I'm older guard or soccer or habits or whatever, that annoys me a little bit. Did you feel like almost a point to prove? No, no, really. I didn't see that talk before the game, to be honest. But I think we showed them today our quality with the ball without the ball. And I think the result reflects that. Three for the season already for you. How much do you enjoy that one? And that understanding you have with Kai, worked on and you great makes off the pitch, is it just a almost telepathic thing?

8:21Yeah, no, he's a really smart player. He moves so well, you know, and he takes a lot of attention, you know, from the defenders. And when he makes the runner an icon from behind, you know, I'm always free, so I was really in goal. Why are you smiling away? I'm always smiling, just happy for luck. Literally. To be fair, I've been martingot the winner, but I don't think that was the biggest roar of the day. What about that tackle on your old villa team mate? When you start in a new club, you need you want a moment like that, don't you? Yeah, of course. We've got a crowd going. Look, it's one of those ones. If I get it wrong, it's bad, but if you get it right, it's always a good feeling. And yeah, look, I thought second half we could control the game a bit more. I kept the ball for a bit longer, but that mindset I thought we were fantastic overall, defensively going forward, created chances, and been on another day, I think we were scoring three or four. At what point after Morgan's touch did you think that I have got in there? He's getting it. I think the first one was too heavy. I was in that, I was myself, but yeah, if I'm going, I'm going all in, so that's whatever.

9:22We definitely did that. Can you go all in with this as well, please? Play the match for Martin Hodegrad. Yeah, I'll take it. Cheers. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Well done, guys. Thank you. Dream Start was net for Ezri Concer on his full debut here today in such a big game as well. Who was a big game, or it was, is a big game, Arsenal, Chelsea, but I think the wooden thing for everybody else already is that Saliba, who is genuinely well classed, arguably the best centre back and well football, has not played a minute of football so far this season. It doesn't look like anyone can score against him. They get a goal today, Chelsea, but didn't really create one big chance in the game. Really, a lot of efforts outside the box. Ray made a great save from Estaball at the end, but that would have been a great goal. Didn't really open them up, and again, that's without the best defender. So that is a worry, but a great start for him, and that tackle just supporters. Love that type of thing. They're still celebrating out here. Apart from that Estaball moment, Ian, were you ever in any doubt?

10:26I said it at the start, I'm very confident we're going to win the game. I mean, I'll pick them up, score in 77 seconds. Obviously, you're disappointed to see that, but we haven't even started yet. And what you've seen, you can see the numbers and the respect of the possession and the shots that we denied them, knowing they have five in our box. I always felt that we were going to get in control of the game at some stage, because they were going to play with their low block and then try and get us on the counter-attack. Thinking, how are we going to get the ball wider, quicker, so as we can really get at them? And we did. We really got into them. In the end, because of what we've been through, what we've actually done, and what we are at the Champions, I was very confident that we would have done something in that way, and we would have come back in that game. Daniel, you said that he can't really describe it as progress for Chelsea. Would you say, then, given the outcome of this game, that there is still a gap in class between these two sides? I think the squads aren't constructed at the same level, but I think what Javi needs to do, and which he's going to address,

11:30how does he get the team playing the style that he wants, which is the 3-5-3-4-3-3-4-2, how have you want to call it? I think that's where what I'm talking about more. I think when you talk about progress, you had one of the first two games that gave a good account of themselves today, but I'm talking about the communication and knowing where you want to be and knowing your teammates' roles potentially, or look, when I do this, you need to do that. You can still kind of see there's a little bit of confusion there, when they're under pitch, and it's not seamless yet. But as I said, going forward, they're almost relying on the 3-3, you know, to win them games right now, and relying on their quality. That's not sustainable throughout the season. They're not going to be able to outscore the opposition. I sort of feel as if, you know, when I looked back to maybe my time at Liverpool, for instance, and it was 13-14, it was like, we're in a great attacking team. I'm not saying we're a bad defensively, we weren't bad defensively, but we had the mindset of, we're going out to outscore you. I think that's how it looks to me, which Elsie right now, we're trying to outscore everybody.

12:30There is a massive difference between the bowl teams, and that's not a criticism of Chelsea. Chelsea, if you're in his 10th class, you know the champions. There are three points behind that. Exactly. So there is a massive goal between bowl teams. There are 11, and the squad, it'll take a while for sort of Chelsea to get to that level if they can get there right now. But I thought I asked them a fantastic today. You go behind early in the game sometimes, that can happen. I think Gary's setting common to, we don't normally see Arsenal in these type of games, sort of end to end, because very, really go behind, do you know, the so strong defensive, you don't need to get involved in those games. But I thought they were fantastic, and still didn't look like they were going to give too much away, even though they were bummed forwarding, you know, putting so many bodies in the opposition's box. They got a fright though, didn't they? The fact that Chelsea scored so early, the stadium certainly got a fright from that as well. Because people were coming here wondering what to expect. So how do they concede? Listen, you talk about getting twitches on the board, so Chelsea gets two out of the face, three, sort of contacts on the ball, the first one. You see that? It's all about getting that face contact on Chelsea.

13:30If you get that keeps it alive, then definitely right, then Chelsea gets the next one. You keep it alive and gives you the opportunity to get a shot away. And Morgan Rodgers, amid a brilliant start, has needed to his Chelsea career. He'll strike plenty of volleys in the future, a lot better than that, but found the bottom corner. I was, obviously, like I said, I was disappointed with it, but by this time we haven't even started, we haven't really got a hold down on the pitch to play it around to see what Chelsea is going to be. Because you have to say, as the goal, Morgan Rodgers scores, delighted for him. I can't lie, I do. I do like when a player who's coming in for that kind of money does something. So as he can get himself going, full cold palm was flitting in and out of the game, it's the same with J.P. Joe. They didn't do enough to make me feel like, you know, we really need to worry when they were one new up. You know what I mean? I'll tell you when I was a little bit more, Fredra and Estevelle came on. You know, that kind of player that's got that little bit of something else, that really can beat somebody cutting and do what he's done. But during the game, I wasn't overly worried about Chelsea opening us up.

14:31Should have signed for a big club as what the Arsenal fans were singing to Morgan Rodgers, as he walked past them behind the goal that the end there. He won't forget that, I have a feeling. Equalizer from Kai Havarts, who has been entrusted to start up front this season, he had such a difficult year, Daniel, last year. We talked about this from a attacking perspective, but is this almost evidence of what you're talking about with regarding Chelsea, defensively here? I mean, it seems as if there's not enough urgency in and around it, and almost like it caught them by surprise. What I do like about is the fact that, look, I'm making sure I'm on side first and foremost. Sometimes that could just be the difference. You know, you do all of this at hard work, and then you're off side for no reason. But what I would say is getting your shots off in and around the box goes through the choir's legs, which of course, you know, catches the goalkeeper off guard slightly, but you would think he should do a lot better there for being totally honest. What you've got to remember here with Chelsea bringing this goalkeeper, I think the goalkeeper saved that two or three years. Now, what I ask Chelsea have done, it's better for everybody that Sanchez is not in goal.

15:31It's not good for Chelsea, but it's not good for Sanchez. It's not quite at the level. He's a good goalkeeper, he's not a great one. So you're going to get someone who has been a great one, and some people's eyes maybe still is one, but they're not bringing the goalkeeper in the way they'll come four or five years ago. So was that a mistake then to do that? I'm not saying they got them for seven and a half million, it's a great deal. He's still a really good goalkeeper, and he's better than Sanchez, and it'll make everyone feel a little bit more confident. But I always worry about goals like this. This is in a mistake. That's just a goalkeeper who's maybe not quite as sharp or as quick as he once was getting down. There's definitely to come up with a cross and drop in it, and things like this. That's just a goalkeeper not reacting quick enough, and it's... Listen, man, there's been a brilliant goalkeeper, and he still has a very good goalkeeper, but he's not the goalkeeper who won the World Cup four years ago. And that may be a little insight into that. They could have actually led before half time, again, Chelsea, because with that threat, Pedro Neto has that pace on that side, Daniel. And he'd caused them a few problems there.

16:31Yeah, and these are the actions that they're going to consistently create during seasons, because they've got that outboard, and look, he does the right thing. He gets his half a yard, he aims for that far corner, and he's just unfortunate to the post. And we've saw that partnership as well between Solis and Havards work nicely in the first hub, which led to, of course, what proved to be the winning goal just after half time. But he was solis working nicely with Havards. Yeah, I can see that there's chemistry there. There's chemistry. There's... That's almost what they tried to do with the goalkeeper. He's not having that. It's kind of to his strong foot. He's over in it. I can't believe it. Yeah, and now, when you see this now, right, what I like about this, obviously, the movement, all that stuff, it's the trust and the arrival in the box. He feeds the ball in the areas and says, go and do you think, go and make something. I'm feeding it in an area to you. It's now down to you. I love the Olvers from Havards. You can see the link up between him.

17:32Just lift the back foot up and boom. Fantastic finish. First touch was brilliant, of course, and then just so calm in front of goal. I want to actually show this goal again from a different point of view. Before we get to it, I just thought it was really interesting looking at the game tactic. When you see the finish here and listen, I think all the guys have made a great start and seeing it is fantastic in the World Cup. But coming into the game and all season, we've spoken about Chelsea's system. And it being, whether it's a back four or a back five. In the main without the ball, it's being a back five. But Chabiolantel said to us on the first Monday, like football. It's not about formations. It's just numbers. But what was interesting today was, and again, a player I think for me, I said last week, the best left back in the league, Call of the Ori. He dictated the formation of Chelsea. So whatever Call of the Ori was, Nettel was. So if you look at the situation there, Nettel was a right-winger because Call of the Ori is at left back. When there's that turn all back and you see Call of the Ori make that move forward. Nettel then drops in to make it a back five.

18:32So that's what Chelsea were today. It was flitting between a back four and the main. And at times a back five. But it was all about the position of Call of the Ori. Now he's making that run forward. And again, already this season we've seen and create two goals and score one goal. We see the back five. But now we'll see this run that he makes Call of the Ori in between Nettel and Le Quas. There and just opens up that space. And you see the space between the centre backs. That comes from Call of the Ori's role. This is the impact he's having on games from the left back. Absolutely fantastic. You see the distance between the two centre backs. Great finish for our order guard and habit doesn't get the assist but he should get the assist. Can I ask you a question on that right? Because from the wingback's point of view, Nettel tracking back. He's now found himself as a centre half technically. Talk to me about the psychology and the communication. I don't know if you've played in a five or a three before. But what is the difference if you are changing from a five or a three and you're basically originally from a four?

19:40Well, but you see you've got an extra man to cover the width of the pitch. You don't have to shuffle across as much. So sometimes you can just be setting your position. But what happened on that one when you think about it? The action point. You might as well see him as going to the wingback position. But because for the majority of the game you've played as a fullback, he's just doing the normal thing you would do. You go out to the winger. But because Calafiori makes the run, that force has Nettel to then come into the back fad. Now we had the clips of it in the first half at times where we were just looking at the position because Calafiori goes all over the pitch. So Chelsea today, even if you think about the first half, Achipon was actually making an overlap on the runs. He was getting into the box. A centre back in a back three would not make those runs. So in the main, that was a back four today. But it was basically Nettel follow Calafiori, where everybody goes because we highlighted last Monday the runs that he makes, the roll that he's got. And we're getting to the stage now. Maybe that we did in the pass with Asa with Ashley Cole. I remember coming against Ashley Cole on that left hand sign. You had a plan for the tactical plan for the left back.

20:41That's where we are now right now with Asa. That's what Chelsea had to do today. And teams are going to have to keep doing in the future. What are you going to do about Calafiori? At times he was almost in the number ten position on the right in the first ten or fifty minute. A fantastic player, but also given unbelievable license by his manager. Do you think this formation is something that Javier Lonso is going to stick with? Is he married to this as a way of playing football? Or is he looking at the group and thinking that this is the way I'm going to get the best out of them? It's not the job of a coach. Will he be able to argue as he has done already the start of this season? It's not a bad formation. Is it always the ones who play five at the back who say that? Yes. And every manager says it and I've never been a manager. And I am a bit... They're the ones who are thinking about football 24-7. I'm not Fabian, but I probably don't think as much as they do. 23 and a half. Exactly. But the point being is, I always think my managers say that, well why did you play a different formation than the norm? So the formation for me has a lot to do with where you want to say it in players, in certain areas.

21:44But definitely today, that was more of a 4-4-2. Whatever you want to call 4-3-3, whatever system you want to call it, Morgan Rogers dropping into the left, 4-2-3-1, I should say. So that was different, but it was the nature of the opposition. But in the main, I think Shabby Alonso will play in a back-five and he gets forced into a back-five. He said, unbelievable success for the Ate by a levercusion. He didn't go so well for him at Redemondred when he didn't employ that system. And I think in the first three games in the main, they'd be in what you call a 3-4-3 or a 5-4-1-1-1-2-3. I would just say with the formation at levercusion, he had Frimpong, which is he's a fallback, that's his position. I think for Chelsea now, whoever's playing right wingback, if the name isn't Gusto, well that's not their natural position. I think even Gusto's right back, Riz James is obviously a move into the central midfield now. So anyone who plays right wingback for Chelsea, that's not natural for them,

22:44whereas with Frimpong and Grimout at the time, they were forward thinking right back and left backs. That's just a different, you know. I agree with you because when you think if you want to play that system, how many other teams in the world are playing that system? So you go, okay, I'm going to buy a wingback. You look at Glasner, he is known for his system. The first thing he does, one of his sign, he goes and buys Munoz from Crystal Palace. He's the only brother to Palace, he knows what that role is. There are very few players probably around, do you think he's a wingback. The game now is dominated by wingers. Every club has got four wingers on the books because of the nature of just, they just feel like wingers have just exploded right now. Everyone has got them and you need more players and you squad forward. So it would be interesting going forward, the players, the recruits and those, they actually get out and out wingback. Let's go to Palace. We've got to Palace. We've got to Palace. We've got people going 50 million, we haven't seen him yet because he's come here with injury problems. Having said all of that, Chelsea almost nicked a point here. Stunning piece of play from Estevelle.

23:45Great play. Fantastic play and this is like I said, he's come on and he's got something more. He's got something a little bit more extra. He wants to take people on, he's going at pace and you know, we thought that he just needed to start that a little bit more outside that post he could bend it in but it was a tremendous effort. It's somebody that I'm glad that he didn't come on any earlier because you like to feel that he probably would have created more opportunities for himself like that off for the team. Well, that was a super mistake. It was a wonderful mistake. It was a wonderful mistake from Debbie, right? But there's a little bit of a problem as it's how do you get him in the starting 11 with the front three? Estevelle. Yeah. Why? That's the problem. That's what I'm glad about. Can he play wingback? Because boy, I love him as a player, you know, and I think he's got so much ability, so much growth, so young. But you can clearly see that there's a comfortability with the front three there right now. And I think, look, this formation is going to involve. I don't think it's going to be, you know, it was a 4-2-3-1 today but maybe defensively at times they were a 5. I think that things will evolve for this team. The manager of the coming weeks is going to, you know, have players coming back like we talked about Peleshtra,

24:48we talked about Kassado who's out today. So they're missing players who the manager know these are my men moving forward. But ultimately I do love Estevelle. I think he's a top top player. He's young. He's finding his feet still. Last season was his first season. But this season now we need to see him. I'm not going to say kick on because look he's got coal palm playing ahead of him. But I think when it gets his opportunities, keep doing what you're doing. You came on today, you showed your skills, you showed your stuff, you gave us some excitement. Keep going. Don't lose faith in your abilities. You might not get as many miniatures you want, but we know the talents there. We know you were top players. Just keep plugging away. Well, Michel, worst possible start, but you must have been thrilled with the way your team came roaring back. Very disappointed. We conceded the first goal. We talked about it, but it's as well credit to them and the finish that Morgan has. But they were we reacted and they were we play. It was a fascinating game. I think first start to finish. It was an absolute joy to watch. I would simply compete, the composure, the personality, the threat that we generated.

26:48So huge in the performance as well. And the atmosphere in the stadium. So I think great to win this. Football seems to do this all the time, but in those first couple of minutes when Morgan Rogers scores the goal. I haven't tried so hard to get in yourself. What are you thinking then? Game on. This is the quality that they have and individually. You can tell that they can produce those magic moments. They've done it. But I'm interested in the way we reacted. The composure that we showed in that moment. It was just an avalanche. It was action after action and it was a judge. It felt like maybe it was more relentless from your team than we might have seen last season. Maybe last season it might have been more control. Is that you adding a layer or am I completely getting that wrong? No, it was another layer. And we've been in another layer of dynamism and threat or intent or migration in neta game phase. And you can certainly see that today. So is that I think you said in your press conference on Friday we can get better in attack.

27:48And actually if you look at the stats, Sakka has an odogard. That's only the fourth Premier League game they've started together. Since January 25th, I think I'm right in saying. So is that what you're talking about? There's just internally you can add loads with those throughout the time. We miss players for six months, five months, Martin. You know, Bukayo for three and a half months, have had seven months. That's a lot. And the team, the way behind that last season, it was phenomenal. Make sure we have them on the pitch because so many great things will happen. Did it feel like a performance where you really put down a marker? Yeah, I really enjoyed it honestly. He was a joy to stand there. He was an absolutely joy towards it in play and compete from the beginning to the end. Yeah, since last about Morgan Rogers, what about the guy you have got down the left? Crystal Solace. It wasn't real again. And he's been showing that again the level of threat, his world rate is just something else. But his decision-making, the way he handles the timing and the advantage they're generating in the next teammate is just phenomenal towards.

28:50And we saw at the end when you needed him, David Raya remains the best or certainly one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Yeah, they're safer he made with Steve Alhund letting do the election again. His presence, you know, you do have him there, the way he comes out and colleagues every cross is just so helpful. And I think he said before balls kick this season, we're not defending the title. We're attacking it. Was that an attack the title performance? He was a tag-de-game and that's what we have to do daily and try to improve daily and find a new version, a better version of ourselves every single day and push and inspire the players to try to get to the levels. Thank you, Mikael. Thank you. Big players stepping up for Arsenal today when they really needed them as well. Kai Haberts, last season seven starts, two goals. This season, two goals already in three starts and it's similar story for Martin Erdogan, 16 starts last season. One goal, he's already doubled that two in three starts. You've hinted at it already in but there's all this talk about Arsenal needing a superstar to add to this attack but was the answer right under their nose.

29:56If you're going to miss those three players, massive. Kai Habsacca as well, massive in everything that Arsenal are doing. That's going to take something away from you and obviously we tried very hard to bring in another forward. In the end we didn't add anything to the forward line and it's something that we wanted to do for a few years now. When you're missing a Sakka, Haberts and Erdogan, that's going to cause you even more problems. What we've done last season without them coming towards the end and then getting right amongst it because obviously Sakka with the injuries that he's had, they've had to watch his minutes all the way through the season, same thing with the World Cup. Haberts was out for seven months, whatever it was. When you get players like that back, that's like a player, that's like a new player, that's like a new signing. I hope that by the time January comes, I'm not sure what you can get in January. You still want that style of surprise. You want the power. We think what look how long we've been waiting.

30:56What you got your courage last year, what's wrong with him? I'm talking about another forward, another like forward that's going to come in and really make a big difference. I know he made a difference but the signing, what our all-astole fans were looking for was... But it could have been Morgan Rogers, couldn't it? It could have been Morgan Rogers. I would have, I would have liked him. Gary's on constantly going on about, he wouldn't have liked him that, but I would have loved Morgan Rogers. I think he showed a little bit of his quality today. To displace Haberts out this team, you're trying to build one of the best players in the world. That's what you have to get. It has to be. It has to be an aim, like, guarantee 30 goals a season, theory on re. Your courage is never taking Haberts as place. Ever. Morgan Rogers, I'm not sure as well. And it's not about how good the Haberts in attack. It's what they give you for the team. So the one of the reasons why you can't break Arsenal down as a team is how well he pressed on the front. But then when the opposition get through that, they'll get behind the ball. And Haberts has about 25-30 years from his goal. You're going to have to work hard striker to do that. And a guy who's obsessed with his numbers and his goals to come back and do that, he won't do that.

31:56When you see Haberts, what he does in terms of both boxes, set piecewise as well. So Haberts, what you're trying to be for the game, weren't we about... Haberts is more of a civilization. He's not a great goal scorer. He can't sacch or the wire players get more goals the way Salar Manu used to with Bobby Femino in that position. They're both great goalscores, but they bring an awful lot to the team. And as I said, this idea that you're going to bring someone in who's like amazing, yes. And the one who said consistently, they haven't got an absolute one of the best players in the world in the front fall. But you better get someone at that level, at that unbelievable level to take Haberts out of that team. I tell you what, Mick and I are set to the type of manager he is. Taking Haberts out of that team, what he does for that team defensively, and we talk about how strongly I'm defending, no one can get a shot on target. It's not just a goalkeeper in the back fall, that's the whole team. So he'd be given up on actually some of his team's defensive solidity to add a little bit more in the attack, yeah. That's the decision every manager has to take.

32:57It's the team. I don't know if it's necessary though. No, I agree with you. I don't think it's necessary because the team is predicated on good defense. That is why they've been successful. 27 goals conceded. Now we're talking about a team who's got, I think they want to lead with 71 goals, right? I think if they can get that to like 85, 55 to 60 from the attack and the number 10, you brought Bruno and 9 Premier League goals last year. Solis was 17 in Belgium, so that's why I said before, can you bring 10 to the team? You know what I'm saying is, I don't know if they need that guy. But you know what it is, is that when the manager, I think when we lost against Bayern Munich last season, as well, the season before, and then we lost the PSG and the manager is saying about he needs that player, that player that can break the stainless of a game

34:00when you need, you know, when you want to get through, you want to beat teams, like they got the penalty, like PSG, somebody that can make that difference. I think we've got that in sack, I think he's got that. But because the manager has been saying that, you know what I mean, we want another forward, we want that one, you know, I want to build a legacy, I want to build a dynasty and I want that caliber of player. Obviously we went for Vinnie, it didn't happen, but I totally understand what he's trying to do, because he wants to get the top end of the pitch as solid as the defences, people are not even getting shots. And we've seen that defense at work again this season, and you've all referenced that, and we saw evidence of that again today. Chelsea did have 13 shots, only five of those inside the box, and this is the lowest XG figures against in the league this season, and Arsenal have the three of the lowest four that came against commentary, Villa, and Chelsea respectively, all under 0.36. This is a... Basically teams are still looking at...

35:00This is AC Milan, Barrazi and Maldini, so obviously those numbers... So if you could have a dream pick, Daniel, if you were thinking that we talked a lot about the Chelsea Front 3, would any of them actually get in this Arsenal team? Yeah, they would. Col Parmo, I think, would play, they'd find a position for him. I think Rodgers is the top... they were looking at him already, and I think, João Pedro would add something to Arsenal as well. I don't think... I'm not looking at Chelsea's forward line going. Oh, they're not as good as the Chelsea... As Arsenal, I don't think that's the case. I think it's different players for different systems. The game now is system football. It's no longer... Oh, who's the best players? What is my system? Who fits into it? So Rodgers comes into Chelsea. Why? Because he runs in behind. He's got the running power. He's got something different to Col Parmo's elegance on the ball playing with it. For me, if I'm looking at Arsenal's forward line, it's always been the left side. It's always been... How can we get balls over here? It's been glaring, Rodgers tend to play there. So, yeah, you know... But it's not a left-winger.

36:00It's not a left-winger. It's an inside forward, which is where he's playing. No, but when you're talking about it, I think Daniel's got a great point. You've got to think of the manager. I think most people, every man on the street, who's got no skin in the game, Arsenal or Chelsea Front, when you look at those players with Chelsea individually, you might say the better individually than the Arsenal players. But I don't think Michel Arthet has swapped them because of the manager Michel Arthet. So Col Parmo, he knows a wonderful player, but what do you do enough for the team defensively? Now, we might criticize Arthet for that. But you look at those numbers defensively. That's probably what's going to win them the league again. Now, Jal Pedro, Terry on Real Monday night football, I switch his show on clips of Jal Pedro. Some of the things he's doing, running with the ball, holding the ball. Absolutely unbelievable. Probably a bit better than what Kay Havage is, but I'm talking about how Kay Havage gets back. That job. And getting back in the defensive. I'm not sure Jal Pedro would do that. So I don't think Michel Arthet would swap. As he am right with him, swap. No. Absolutely. So that's a go-ah, wouldn't you swap? I'll swap not back here for over a month now. We'll just move this on.

37:00Which is an interesting quirk of this early stage of this season. The next four games are all the way from home before the long, looming international break. On paper, they're potentially a little bit awkward, but do you know now knowing this Arsenal team, knowing how strong they are, going to all of those games with confidence? Yeah, they probably would do, yeah. Especially with the squaders and how the squaders going to rotate. People will get to play games. People will get the opportunity to show what they're capable of doing. And again, like, you know, you look at all of those games, regardless of their way. And I would fancy asking when all of those games, especially in the way that they are playing, now, in the confidence that they have in each other as we speak. Jimmy Carrega. Busy. David Prutten. It's time to get more analysis of today's match and head back to the studio. First defeat of this season for Chelsea. And first defeat under their new manager, Chaville Lonser as well. He's giving his reaction now to the 2-1 loss here at Arsenal. With Patrick Davidson. Chaville disappointed with the result, of course, but... What are you happy with being a counter-team in the team? You know, you're happy with yourselves? Well, it hurts. It hurts because at the field, at the feet, it has to hurt. It has been very intense game with different moments for everything. We had chances to equalize.

39:03We first half as well. A couple of chances. So we were tight-gain with details, but... Never happy if you lose. You made another great start to a Premier League game. That's obviously not a negative, but it's the downside of it that it then creates a game state where you're forced back and there on top. Yeah, after we have score, there were 15-20 minutes that we had to defend too much. And we were struggling to get a little bit the control of the goal. I think that after 20 minutes, probably after the equalizer, we get back in the game. We have had better spells with the ball. We had the chance of Morgan, of Pedro as well. But overall, it was very tight, very intense game. And luckily, or luckily, we could do better, the second goal to concede too early. But anyway, we were in the game. We fought till the end. So the guys gave everything. They gave everything, they tried everything, but... ...is the first of it, we need to continue.

40:03But it has to hurt. Can you tell us a bit about the plan today? I mean, you've spoken a lot since you've been chosen, managed to adapt. It looked to me like you adapted a bit today, went to a back four, but it also looked really fluid and Pedro Neto's position almost was half full back, half-winger. Yeah, it's about preparing the best possible way with our qualities, with our ideas, with our principles, to compete the best possible way. And you know that Arsenal, they do very good things, very interesting things. And you need to control, they overload a lot on this right side, with sometimes with five, six players, probably we were too tired. To concede after we had to run too much on that first goal, we could have been a little bit more... It's part of getting to have these actions. And we continue this game three, and this is going to be a long, long rise. You did some interesting things today as well. Can you just about your approach to their corners and leaving, I think it's four players further forward?

41:03I think Chelsea did it back in February, February time, in the games they played at the Emirates last season, but you seem to take that one step further. Well, you take decisions, you make approaches, you want to be active, you want to take initiative in strong actions, when we can do it, sometimes, with set pieces, sometimes pressing high, I'll do it lower. So that's, I think, what you need to do to compete in all these stages, and today we've come here to the Emirates, trying to compete as well as possible, and now we need to continue, next one is Carabao, and next one will be Hall Atom. You're there obviously years into a project and you're right at the start of one. What did you learn today about the gap between the teams? Well, I learned about the game, about us, about what we are doing, what we are starting, the players, they have this attitude, this desire to compete better game by game,

42:06to try to create something that we believe in, to have this conviction of what we are doing, and so far I'm happy, knowing that it's going to be a long way, that is a process, but we're going to win games, this is the ultimate goal. I know you said you don't feel you're short in midfield, but did you feel a bit short in midfield today, full respect to Malogas, who's a top-premially player, that he comes on, and you, without Kaisaido, you, without Henderson, until those guys about you're a bit short in the area. It's the deal you need to deal with injuries, all the squads for sure, they are missing the injured players, but with the ones we have, we go full guard with full belief, and they try the best and they have given everything. Thank you. Thank you. How much of a worry Daniel is that, the central midfield area? Well, look, they identified trying to bring a player in, and it didn't happen. So, it ends off a big money. Santos leaves as well, and Enzo was a big part of the success of the club,

43:08and it was a big threat for opposition. But, look, ultimately, you've got to deal with what he's got now. You've got a very experienced player in Henderson, who's going to be coming back from his injury. You've got Barca Wanderbensch Gusto, who he's trusting in the central midfield, which, you know, I didn't know he could do that role, but the manager's working with the players and see something in his game. And James and Lavier, who we've talked about, the fitness side of things, but I think there are two very talented players we saw that today. He's hit the nail on the head, really, in two ways, Xavier Lanzo there, because there's two things going on here. There's the process. He's got to try and improve this team. He's got to try and make his completely fresh ideas work. He's the manager of Chelsea. He's got to win. Yeah, and then there's two things, Mario. He has one. Chelsea, notoriously, has always been a club built around. You have to win now. It's not about a pro, just not about the process. Going back to a bram of Jesus' days, and that worked really well for them. Had no work so well with the new ownership. But they acquitted themselves a lot better than I thought they would today, to be honest.

44:10I've been watching them in the first two games, even though they'd won and scored lots of goals. I would eat for them defensively coming here today. And even though I asked them were fantastic, they were still in the game for a large part of it. In terms of when we're talking about the short in midfield, yes, they were trying to get in midfield. They tried to get Alex Scott as well from Bournemouth, didn't they? It let me and Camara from Monaco. And they'll try and adjust that in January, of course. But it won't be as pain for them as other clubs, they're not in your. So there's not as many games. It should be less injury. So it's something that I think they can deal with between now and maybe January, whether that's the end of the season. It's not like other clubs missing out on players on the plane, almost every week, three games, or each Chelsea and in that boat, so it should be a lot easier to deal with. Knowing how much work they've got to do in, watching them today, do you see them as rivals for the title? I think that they're front-free is going to cause a lot of people problems. But it's all going to come down to the midfield. I genuinely believe that they probably don't know that Enzel will definitely go. Santos, like we mentioned, went earlier.

45:11And they tried to get him from Monaco. The mid-Maria. Yeah, they tried to get him at the end. I think they could have done that earlier and just got him in because Enzel was going to go. I think the only problem they'll have is the midfield and the problems that they may have with a couple of injuries, are going to be in their midfield. But in respects of their team and the front guys, the guys they've got up front, they'll be able to be a lot of teams in the league. Especially once they know exactly what he's doing. I'll go back to it again. Jamie mentioned that it started a program that when Javier Longzo finished at Labour, because it was in 61-62% possession. So they're going to change. They're going to play in a different way. So I'm sure that things will change and they will get to be the team that will probably be challenging up there as well, and then they'll be able to decide other people probably. What would you think, Daniel? Is this year going to be too soon? I mean, it is soon. But I'm leaning into the talent of the players. I'm leaning into the attack and I do believe in the midfielders. I do believe the defenders can learn on the training field.

46:13I've been in that situation where you've got no European football and the expectations aren't that you are going to challenge. And ultimately we did. So I think they can do it. They can do it to get the player's power on the field. I think that the player can do it. But they're going to have to be able to do it. So you can do it. I think that's the biggest thing about the manager getting these messages across the players taking that on board. It's all about the mental fitness, ultimately, you know. You can you absorb this information and then do it on the field. If you can do that quickly, you can compete. If they can't absorb the information, it's not going to happen that's just the truth of it. to us and they've got a challenge for the league. The only reason is because they've got no European football. You look up Manchester United last season, they've finished third on the back of the season before, finishing, was a 15th and the season before and off finishing great. They just had that advantage over the other big clubs, you had a soul shape up there. That's the only reason why I think people are maybe talking them up to be maybe the closest challenges to us and for me almost a guarantee of Champions League

47:14football because they just have less games and should be less injuries. Alright Jamie, Daniel. Ian, thank you very much. We'll see how this Chelsea project develops in coming weeks.
