Hey y'all, we are back with another dense update this update is sponsored by biomex
peptides.
Here we go.
Well, quarter final weekend is over and there was a lot of excitement, a little bit of drama
and a tiny bit of sadness, but we've got plenty to talk about.
So where should I start?
Let's start with some of the excitement.
This was a great weekend.
The fans finally got to see some games athletes doing the quarter final workouts before you
just had no choice but to sit there and refresh the learboard, wait for times to be posted,
maybe check Instagram, hoping someone would post a reel.
But not this year.
This year we had some of the biggest names in CrossFit going live.
The boys interrupted live for every workout on their channel.
The girls unfiltered live on their channel as well.
This is definitely a trend that the media king himself, someone started having athletes
on the channel doing workouts live.
If you remember, Taylor versus the world, him doing workouts with Colton, Downland and Jason.
I don't think it's the volume.
I think it's the intensity.
I mean, he works out so we know he does that, but the level that he's pushing to hang
with you guys.
Oh my goodness.
Oh my goodness.
Oh my goodness.
Oh my goodness.
Clip that.
Clip that.
We need that clip.
Oh my goodness.
And now you have athletes taking matters into their own hands and doing these things on their
own platforms.
All of the boys interrupted were in Boise doing the workouts at an affiliate.
The girls unfiltered Alexis Raptis and Fisagoffie had traveled to a gym.
I believe it was in Atlanta where Jessica and Drozik is CrossFit 1124, I believe.
And Alex Cazanne was on commentary.
Now they had their first episode on Thursday of their official girls unfiltered podcast.
And Alex had mentioned that she had a little bit of a backed week earlier that week.
I'm going to post show Saturday.
I had a little back scare on Sunday.
So what happened exactly?
Of course, it's always the last set, like always, and my back popped at the top of the
deadlift and then kind of just like went into lockdown mode.
Now of course, there were some minor kinks with some of these livestreams them having
done them for the first time.
For instance, not being able to see the clock at all because it's too far away or somebody
comes into frame stands in front of the clock during the workout or worse, the clock keeps
getting moved in and out of frame.
And then some of the livestreams titles weren't incorrect.
So that was a bit confusing at times.
But again, we all got to see it and enjoy it.
So I am grateful that they did this.
The live chat getting onto the boys just a little bit for some of those things also for
movement standards.
But obviously with four athletes going at one time, the camera angles are not always going
to be favorable.
If you didn't see Andrew Hiller make a no rep video about it, then you have to assume
that they were probably good reps, right?
Andrew did put out some reels over the weekend though of some of these 99% and oh my gosh
people.
Do you even read the workout standards?
How many of the people are lowering the dumbbells before they even stand the rep up?
Come on, those are really bad.
And these are being done in affiliates with affiliate owners and coaches and judges.
And they're still not doing it right.
Coaches, owners, come on guys, hold your people accountable.
The CrossFit Games and Media team also hosting athletes on their channel to go live for
the workouts.
Ariel Lowen, Tudor Magda and Tiago Luz, were each live doing a different workout with Chase
Ingram and Matt Bischel on commentary.
I did a set of five and then I couldn't do another handstand push up for a minute.
That's what I did.
She rode faster than I did on both.
Ariel Lowen getting a last minute no rep on her strut handstand push up inspire husband
Dylan.
Kind of love that him holding her accountable.
Six, eight, holy crap right at the point.
He got it.
Tudor putting up and insane time on the double under a deadlift workout, which honestly
really isn't that surprising considering the guy did what over a thousand double wonders
on Barokin.
Oh, all right, look at that coming out hot like he just got shot out of a cannon.
Oh man, I thought I went out too hot.
And then Tiago Luz doing workout with an entire class going on at the affiliate at the
same time in the background, which I thought was kind of cool.
Now the boys interrupted having a quite the lineup of special guests for their shows.
Their very first one kicked off with Josh Bridges.
He was actually being really funny.
He was making fun of Cooper Marsh, one of the agents.
Cooper walking around like he knows something.
He doesn't know anything.
Just get out of the get out of the camera.
Cooper always trying to find the camera.
Look at him.
They also had the buttery bros on as well.
Andy Marston, he's at an outdoor restaurant and he's eating with the five time champ
Matt Frazier.
And they're talking about the workout and who they think is going to win and he pans
over to Matt.
And he asks, you know, what do you think?
And it was honestly not the response I was expecting.
No, we got Matt Frazier on the show.
Yeah, Mr. Frazier.
Yeah, surprise cameo ladies and gentlemen.
Who's it?
It's Alan Sprayg, a Dauper and Dustin.
Yeah.
What do you think Matt?
Well, it's no.
No, I don't want to ruin my day of jogging up, right?
I mean, wow, wow, HWPO training, everything that you do is marketed to the CrossFit community,
but you don't want to ruin your day talking about CrossFit.
What?
I honestly cannot believe the words came out of his mouth.
Also, that's kind of a dick move to do on a live show of four of the most popular athletes
in the space right now who are embracing CrossFit, loving on CrossFit, promoting it, really
doing everything they can this year to give back.
At least the boys followed that show up with some stellar guests.
They had J.R. Howell and James Hobart on, thank god for that recovery.
This was really cool for workout number two with the Hing dumbbell squat queens and bar
muscle ups, choose your own adventure.
They had J.R. Howell write up four different rep schemes and versions of the workout to do,
and then they put them into a little hat or a bowl or I don't even remember, and then
they all picked one out.
Yeah, I got the one I wanted, I got two four.
I'm doing 20 rounds of two bar muscle ups and four squat queens.
I am doing the pyramid starting with four eight and then we're going to go one two, two
four, three six, four eight, six, five, ten, six, twelve and then back down, ending with
a one two.
All right, I got ten rounds, four bar muscle ups, eight cleans, I got sixteen bar muscle
ups, six rounds of eight cleans, four bar muscle ups, and so 32 cleans.
That's going to feel awesome.
Poor Dall and not happy about his, but considering that they all had different versions of the workouts,
they all still finished within 15 seconds of each other, which is crazy.
The girls unfiltered, also having a lineup of guests for their shows.
They had tied Jenkins on, they had Andrew Hiller and Tyson Beigeant.
They had Coach L and Matt Torres on.
Obviously Alex Kazan was on commentary.
Feast husband was even on one of the shows and then of course on this channel and then
eventually on the seven on podcast channel.
Live shows with Colton Merton's doing his workout from the proven empire in Nashville.
Colton Merton's setting the top time on three of the four workouts.
All of these are unofficial of course until they're uploaded to CrossFit, they go through
their validation and verification process.
So there's always a possibility that some of these could change or there could be other people
in the mix between some of these times.
Colton's worst finish of the weekend was on the deadlift and double under workout.
He had a few trip ups with the double unders and then the rope fell out of his hand once when
he was going to pick it up.
So a little sad there, he could redo it.
He could probably go faster, but at this point, this is only the second stage of the season.
He's obviously going to win quarterfinals overall.
So he doesn't really need to do that workout again.
It is no wonder why this man is the people champion, the fan favorite, the spirit of the games,
the most liked in the CrossFit space.
And then of course, some of the drama came in.
There's never a shortage of that is there.
And Colton is getting set up to do workout number one, which was the shuttle run overhead squad,
burpy over bar workout.
And I'm watching and all of a sudden this pops up.
The stream goes down.
Now coincidentally, the boys interrupted were also live for their first workout at that time.
Coincidentally, I don't believe in coincidences.
But there are quite a few conspiracy theories out there on what might have happened.
Maybe it was slimy agents who reported the live stream.
I mean, they've been clipping and reporting the show to people at HQ and brands in the space
trying to get these guys canceled.
So I wouldn't put a pass them to report the live stream and try to get it taken down.
But why would they want to do that?
What do they gain from that?
Their athletes live stream wasn't hurting for views.
I mean, they're not getting as many views as Colton.
So maybe, but surely they would not stoop so low to take that away from the fans and from Colton.
He didn't do anything to them.
The other theory out there is maybe it was a mass reporting of some of the refugees
who have been telling people in their inner circles that they're trying to take the show down,
take the podcast channel down.
And if you don't already have the inconvenience of knowing who the Seven Honies to
refugees are, they're a group of internet buddies who have been around for a few years
in the space and always in the live chats on Seven's podcast channel, not so much on
Sea of Network.
Well, they are.
They've just come back under fake accounts because, you know, they have to hide who they really are.
But they thought that because they've been in the chat for however many years,
that when they didn't like something that they could get their way and get someone fired,
that someone was me and that didn't happen.
You know, the worst kind of people nowadays that think that they matter more than they actually
matter, hands down, people that work out and won't shut the fuck up about it.
I cannot stand this shit.
Bang, bang, bang, bang, click, click, reload, bang, bang, bang, can't stand it.
So now they just hate everything and everyone on the channel and they go into all these other
shows and talk all kinds of shit.
I am 100% cool with you and your piece of shit cohort Pat going onto other podcasts and
the chat just talking non-stop shit about me.
I'm very cool with it.
And people send me screenshots.
Oh, ass bitch.
I mean, all of these people could just simply move on with their lives.
Don't watch.
Find somebody else they fanboy over to worship,
which they kind of already have.
But I mean, good grief.
It's just a show.
It's woke mob mentality, cancelled culture,
bachic, crazy behavior.
Think about how stupid you look.
The team behind the scene, trying to figure out what happened,
who might have reported us?
Did YouTube pull it down?
Were they monitoring the channel?
I read that one occurrence from a report won't necessarily completely stop a live stream.
But if there was a mass-coordinated attack of reporting at one time,
that could cause it.
Or if YouTube has recently been monitoring your platform
due to recent strikes, that could also potentially cause it.
And so as a result of that,
the channel was no longer able to live stream for the next seven days.
So they had to move everything over to back to the old channel,
seven on podcast channel,
where Colton Martins was able to do his next workout there.
And luckily, the guys were still able to see
Colton working out on the back end,
so they were able to screen grab his workout.
And I think it already has upwards of 46,000 views.
I mean, all of his videos get an insane amount of views.
The boys also had one final workout to do Sunday morning.
But before that, Saturday evening, just in Madero's,
he was the biggest loser, the overall loser of the CrossFit Open.
So he had a punishment that he had to do.
He had to go do a five-minute comedy stand-up at a live comedy show.
It really wasn't all that bad.
It was a little rough at times.
I've always wanted a gay following.
And I've just never been able to get it.
And my friends all get, like, these gay people message them in the comments.
And I don't know, maybe I'm just a little bit insecure.
But why won't they like me?
You know what I'm like?
I feel like I got stuck the offer here, you know?
I especially enjoyed the barit.
Where he was talking about getting a blowjob from his girlfriend
with his mom sitting off to the side of the stage.
It's a blowjob.
And they call me Gobi.
And you hear blowjob and it's like,
it sounds like it's like work.
You know, you got to work.
But hey, a Gobi from a girl from the land down under
and that hits different.
And then he had some pretty good roasts at the end.
So Jason, you look like Sloth from Goody's.
Boom, roasted.
James working out with the homies naked is kind of gay.
Boom, roasted.
Dalin, you sell your underwear for money.
Boom, roasted.
Jesse, Canada sucks.
Boom, roasted.
Adam, use another word besides awesome.
Boom, roasted.
Coop, your nose is thicker than your dick.
Boom, roasted.
Daniel, where's Daniel?
I, someone check Coop's pocket.
Boom, roasted.
Dallas, you're the least fit in the printer.
Boom, roasted.
Scott, veganism is better than naked grace.
Boom, roasted.
Thank you.
The boys interrupted were live Sunday morning
for their final workout.
They did event number one last.
All of the wives were on the panel commentating.
It took about, I don't know, 30 to 40 minutes for them
to get everything set up.
And the girls just chatted.
When the workout got started, James and Dalin were on the far
and left side.
So a couple of their shuttle runs were out of frame.
No big deal.
However, during the last set of shuttle runs,
somebody comes and picks up the camera
and moves it.
And unfortunately, the stream became kind of glitchy.
And that also took the clock out of camera,
which was a little bit frustrating,
because for a second there,
I thought Justin Madero's was maybe
going to come close to Colton's time.
However, that was not the case.
He ended up finishing in 604.
And then Jason Hopper, a full shuttle run behind him coming
in second, followed by James Sprig,
and last, Dalin Pepper.
With the time of, I believe somewhere around 618,
give or take a second or two.
So all well within 20 seconds of each other.
And then unexpectedly, Alexis wrapped his sweat live
and re-did workout number four,
the rowing, clean and jerks, strict handstand push-ups.
She was trying to beat her time from the first attempt,
which was 1037.
And unfortunately, she did not.
She was right at 1037, maybe even 1038.
She was head to head with new love interest,
a rumored new love interest, Josh Felix.
She attempted to do all of her handstand push-ups
unbroken, but had to come down with just three reps left to go.
Okay, I take that back as I was recording this video.
I got a note saying that Alexis Raptus, in fact,
did one extra handstand push-up.
Therefore, when she locks out the 30th,
it was 1035 on the clock,
improving her score by two seconds from her previous attempt.
And so that's it.
That wrapped up the live quarter-final shows
from all of the athletes.
It was really such a treat to have that.
And I hope that this encourages other athletes next year
to consider doing this.
Now, let's take a look at all of the scores
that we do know as of now.
Colton Merton's workout one time of 544,
Fisagoffie for the ladies at 613.
Workout two, Colton Merton's with a time of 716.
Fisagoffie again, 735.
Workout three, Tudor Magda.
We talked about that.
Incredible time.
Sub four on the double-wonders and deadlifts.
Right behind him, Justin Madero's,
down peppered James Frig, Alexis Raptus.
And then workout four.
Again, Colton Merton's setting the time to be 928.
Would Jason Hopper just behind him at 935?
And then Chris Ibarra with a third place
out of all of the guys that we got to see do the workout.
I did see some people in media putting videos
out of their quarter-final workouts.
Amanda Hari put up a series.
I saw even Lauren Collale was doing the quarter-final workouts
and she put up some videos on her channel.
There was also some score submission controversy
over the weekend for the individual athletes
who were also 16 to 17-year-old athletes.
They had different weights on the deadlift workout
than the elites did.
And so there was only a place for them
to enter one score into the game's website.
So of course, that caused tons of confusion and chaos
and panic, I'm sure, for those athletes,
they didn't know what to do.
So somebody reached out to CrossFit
and they told them basically,
they could do the individual workout, the elite workout,
and they could just enter that score
and it would apply to both individual and 16 to 17,
but it would be the heavier weights.
Or they could do both workouts, the elite weight
and then their 16 to 17-year-old weight.
And that CrossFit would then reach out to them
to verify that they did both,
which means I guess you do have to video.
It would be pretty gangster though
if there was a 16 to 17-year-old
who was badass enough to just say,
yeah, I'm just gonna do the individual elite workout.
I'm still gonna spank all you guys.
The next step is semi-finals.
Mayhem Classic is still selling tickets to their event.
If you have not been to Cookville
or to CrossFit mayhem, the Mecca, you should go.
It really is a special place.
They put on an amazing event.
I went last year.
It's small, it's intimate,
but it's also the big production
that you would expect from a semi-final event.
It's pretty amazing.
I am really looking forward to going this year.
The weekend passes are somewhere around 150 bucks
and hotels are affordable there.
There's lots of great little places to go eat in town.
Everything is really close,
literally a 10-minute drive anywhere you need to go
in Cookville.
I hope to see you all there.
If you want good training from Level Three coaches
who adore CrossFit and know what inside and out,
you should head to traincentral.com.
If you read this out,
I don't give you an extra $10.
Oh, hey, did I tell you about what happened with Bryson?
Did I just realize the script was just
the first part of the text?
