That's the fourth guy that since we logged off this show yesterday the Broncos have resigned and it this point guys

It's inconceivable that we've gone now

72 hours 73 hours actually now and they still haven't signed an outside guide

There was a lot of like so many people frustrated the first 24 48 hours

Now I'm certain to see people just be like this is a bit now and the Broncos are just leaning all the way in

And if you're like me. Yes, you you they are trolling you

Yeah, this is all about you in particular. Yeah, you're right. Absolutely. Yeah, it is about you

Crazy, I mean I still remain that there hasn't been anyone signed

Since early day one that I was like, oh, why don't we get him? No, it's a good plan

But yeah, it would just it would just be nice to have something new to talk about well because you just need like a you need like the

Shiny object to like catch people's attention

At this time of year because people are like upset and what happens is like you resign Lucas Croll

Do we know are there is there any guaranteed money in the minimum contract for Lucas Croll?

Not that has been reported. I would imagine very little at least like it's a guy

You bring 90 guys a training camp

Broncos country wide emergency

Because they haven't done anything else like if there was just like one shiny thing that everybody could look at

You would look at a tiny little minimum move for a training camp guy as such a small thing

But you wouldn't even look at it all then said here we are. Yeah, it's compounding right

But this is this is what is going to happen if you're George Peyton and Sean Peyton and you don't go do it like

And potentially winning the Super Bowl right there

It it's weird that they haven't made any any outside moves, but like this weird why are we like in the Twitter chat

I've already seen it fire George Peyton. What are we talking about like I hope I hope that's a joke

But I've just seen so many of them

least surprise move that the Broncos have made just because like he

Henry you've mentioned how the Broncos need like at least one more receiver

Yeah, and it's like okay. Well, what's one receiver that is a different skill set than what the Broncos have

It's little Jordan Humphrey and Sean Payton's love for little Jordan Humphrey and little Jordan Humphrey decided to leave the Broncos

Last free agency he realized that was a mistake then signed with the Broncos at the end of last season

So no surprise there you can probably

Chalk him up to a roster spot

Or at least a practice squad spot and then he's gonna get bumped up later in the year

In 2020 didn't he get injured in 2024? No, what happened? Oh, he's practiced squad in 2024

They just they had added so many defensive linemen in 2025 last year when the Broncos were in San Francisco

He popped his Achilles and so was out all season long. Oh God me to actually my biggest fear is smashing my teeth

And then second might be Achilles. Wow. Yeah, smashing your teeth. It's a lot harder than tearing your Achilles

I think that's I would agree. Yeah, when I was in when I was in middle school

Actually plays this year in kind of a rotational role and the final one Broncos brought back the best player on their team

Lucas Crowe. I can't believe this move's not being celebrated more

And then you decide like okay, who do we want like competing for maybe we'll keep four if somebody's good enough or maybe we

Will definitely keep at least a couple on the practice squad and so you say like well

Let's bring in a couple you under after three agents like might as well at Lucas Crowe come back and compete because it's probably better than those guys

Maybe draft and it's just like that's just how you build your team is like Matt Henning's in comes back to compete for a job on the practice squad like that's

Honestly, how how much do you pay attention to like social media reaction all that stuff?

Not much. I mean, I mean, I think the best part about this whole thing is like the support of your family and friends

Like the people that have been with you the entire time like I honestly haven't even

Besides like reposting some stuff. It's hard to get on you know, just the people that

Are close to you that reach out that you know talk to and are just proud and excited and you know

You don't free agency a lot of people assume that guys are just like talking to other teams or talking to your team

This for these past few weeks

Like you don't really talk at all

So you don't actually know what's going on so like all the stuff on Twitter and Instagram that people are seeing and predicting is

As much as my mom seeing as much as I know like your agent's doing as much

But until it kind of starts you don't you don't really know and so

Yeah, once it's kind of over, you know, you're just you know relieved and just excited to

Like get get going because like my family was just more like where are you gonna live?

You know, what are you gonna be doing all this stuff? And you know, my wife's just like I just want to live in Denver

Like you know, and you never know and so you know once that was over

I could kind of care less when anybody else thinks I care more about

You know my family close friends and everybody and the team and you know, that's all the matter

Well, we're pumped that you're back and Justin's got to be pumped that you're back as well

He's back as well and now it's it's very clear like you said at the end of the season about Justin

You were asked like does he deserve to be a starter now and you're like what are we talking about?

He's been a starter for two years now

But now he like gets that day one starting role next to you. What's it gonna be like you two pairing up at inside lineback or all season?

No, it's gonna be fun. Um, it's exciting. It's something, you know, we've talked about for years, you know, when Josie left

That was like the first conversation. He's like, I mean, do you think we're gonna be able to do it?

And I was like, yeah, I mean we can but then obviously you know, they sign Cody and then I got her

But then he got to play and you know last year. I it's the same thing. It's like people ask. Yeah

I mean last year we started like 11 or 12 games together

and so it's like

yes week one

We'll be like starting together, but last year week one through eight and starting together

So hey, I mean, he's ready to be a day one starter because he has been for the last

Year so no, I'm super excited for him. I'm so happy for him like

Watching, you know, the work that somebody puts in and earning

You know, the contract that he got is really special and it's just really awesome to see

What when did you realize that he was like good enough to to be a starter for you guys because I mean

Like coming out he was obviously like tall and athletic and you could tell that he had the tools

But never really got the opportunity. Was there a moment when you realized like Justin should be starting in the NFL

Yeah, I mean once he got to play like you know, so it's funny

He'll probably hate this story, but whatever you know, he played when they uh

When they played the Browns you guys played the they played the Browns it was before I was here and uh

It was bad like

Didn't play and it wasn't it's never on like one guy. That's what you know what I hate about any of it is like

If a team has a bad game or whatever and I think the final score was like 1310 like it's bad as a defensive play

They only give up 13 points, but whatever and like he when I got here

It was like dude, yeah, it sucked like I didn't play a good that day. It's like oh, yeah, I get that

It's the first time starting like they can be a lot. That's completely understandable

And so then you know, it really took

I mean me and Josie were both healthy for two full seasons and so nobody took a rep besides us and then

Um, we signed Cody after Josie left and then you know when I got hurt week three it was like

all right, Justin like

Like as a

One of his like best friends. I'm like dude. I'm just excited for you to get the opportunity like it sucks

It took me getting hurt for you to get this opportunity, but like I'm in your corner now like you have the next 14 weeks

So just go prove who you are and

The second I think the first play against the Jets, you know, we call the blitz to get him calm down

He sacks Aaron Rodgers and it's like I just remember him coming to the sideline and like

You know, you can just feel someone's energy and excitement and right when he did that he was like I'm good

And I was like yeah, you're fucking good like

And he's been able to do that ever since and earned what he got you know this week

Are you a little disappointed that you have to continue listening to his sports takes

You know

You know, I'm full. I love when he just pisses everybody off

He has like the select few that he goes after like McGlinchie and Notre Dame are always a shot

That for sure like him and Bonito go after they argue about Ed's rushers every day

It's so good and I like

It is it's nonstop all day and he'll just he'll walk by me and go hey watch this and just

Go into somebody with the most the best random and I'm like to

I don't even know who that person is and he'll have facts about like his high school and it's

It's the

There's nothing there

But we we had an event with him last year and he got us pretty rattled up about some sports takes too

He knows exactly where to push the buttons

Oh, he knows exactly where to and he know like he knows what you're a fan base of so

It's it's the best. It's so good. And he knows exactly what he's doing

That's why we call him Steve and I smell

So good the worst one was when he basically said Nicole Yokey don't do it. Don't throw one of the bus like this

We're okay, not for public in some you guys can imagine you guys can imagine what he was

It's people still like him people do so like him as they should good football play

Um

What do you think of losing JFM? You know, he was obviously important piece for you guys for a couple of years

And that

He goes and gets 20 million dollars a year. That's awesome for him, but it leaves a bit of the hole

Yeah, I mean, obviously I think it's great. I think I said every time I could last year

I think he's one of the best in the world or what he does and

Still is that

I'm super excited for him. He deserves every penny. Obviously

I'm not part of any of those negotiations

So I don't know where the Broncos ended up on that

Yeah, if they weren't near that

I get it from an organizational standpoint

But also I get it from his point like go get your money. He's back in the defensive, you know

He played with Salah when he's at the sets and so I know he's excited

I know I talked him that I before for agency and you know kind of the team she was talking to so

I'm excited for his opportunity, man. I'm gonna follow him

I think he's gonna go get him to go there and kill it like he did here the past

Three years and so yeah, it sucks, but obviously, you know

That's the best part about this, you know, this next man up mentality

You know, I know any'll be ready and you know some other guys and so it's exciting and it's their opportunity to

Lot of fans think you can't cover tight ends. So my question to you is

How often are you actually asked to cover tight ends?

Uh

Fans are funny. I wish they could uh

I asked my agent the other day. I said, hey, is there a way like I can I was like dude

Something charged people fifty bucks will do an all-twenty-two

They can't record anything, but like I'll answer any questions they have and it's like

No, you can't do that. I was like, why? You absolutely can. We'll host it here at the end

We would pay you to do it. I'll make so much money and I'll quit

Man-to-man not I mean, it's not we're not like uh

All the time team. I mean, do we yes?

Was every single time a tight end caught a ball this year in my fault? No

No, it's just funny. I love

As much as fans want to believe

If anybody thinks that to take care of more about winning than I do then that's so

Well, Alex you you also got to take credit where credit is due in a good way

And I was thinking this morning you

Probably like single-handedly won two games for the team last year that pass break up on Zach Irts in

Washington if he catches that games probably over the other way

And then in the playoff game against the bills that fumble against James Cook

Those were like two just individual plays that probably just won the games right there

What's when you look back to last year? What's your favorite play? Is it one of those two? Is it is it something else that you look at?

Ah, I mean, I think both of those are special obviously the commanders one was more coming back from I mean cancer was

Kind of that kind of wrapped that up. You know what I mean? It was like one of those

I didn't know if I was gonna get to that game

There was a lot of talk obviously behind the scenes of what was gonna happen how I'm gonna get there

But I would say I would say the Raider game just as a whole not knowing if it was my last game ever

But playing in it and then obviously the commander game being what it was something I football

Coming back like it was just

Super emotional and special and then to be able to have that and for anyone wondering all these tight-end people

That wasn't even my guy. He was running

You know you know me do it so often um and that

Yeah, I mean, I think the Buffalo play was cool because

That offense is elite. I mean, that's the reason they've been back to that round so many times and so

You know as a leader and a guy on the team, you know

People ask someone needs to make a play to be able to make that play to kind of spark that it feels really good

Obviously, you know when the game ends to be able to look back and be like hey

That was the spark we need and I was able to do that and so that makes that special too

What's your relationship like with Vance Joseph and how nice is it for you?

To not have to go and change defensive coordinators and learn a new defense

Yeah, that was something I did not want to do. There was about zero chance of me wanting that to happen

Me and VJ are I mean as close as two people can get I feel I you know

My job on a game day is to be him on the field and I think

You know the longer we've been together the more I've realized what that actually means like it's it's knowing

What he's thinking before the play comes out. There's times during games where like he's

About to call a play and I've already called the play because I just know what he's gonna say in a situation

so

Having that relationship and how much is involved over the years and how much now I know it's gonna continue to evolve is is huge like

We are

As close as I mean you need to be to win football games with a you know a Michael I'm backer and a defensive coordinator like that's

So much of the job is to just be able to relay his voice to 11 other guys all the time under pressure and in every single situation

Absolutely love it Alex last one for you gonna hit you with another hard hard hitter right here when was the last time you had short hair

Senior of college my buddy and I bet each other 20 bucks that we wouldn't grow our hair during spring ball

And then it went through the summer and then now we're here

Yeah, the girls lost two for us. I don't beat both of them. They'd be crazy. I'd hope of all teams
