This profession is a journey filled with shifts and changes. Don't give up when the sudden turn happens....that's when you move on to the next stop along your journey!
Greetings, lovely listeners. I always take you along with where I'm at in my
journey to help you grow and for your own path and mediumship. So let's see, what
do I want to talk about today? There's a few things on my mind. I've got a
demonstration tonight. Y'all, with unwind, I do a ghost-tour dim mashup once
of every month, every month, just about. And then I also do regular
demonstrations there that are two hours. And it's interesting when when you're
kind of working with the same venue and offering different types of metaphysical
offerings. It's interesting when you start playing around with like ticket pricing,
how many people in the audience, because you're growing, you're coming into
finding that pace, that not only you as the medium and the public need, but also
the place of business too. There's a lot of different angles here. But you grow.
You'll never know what you want to do with the public in the group dynamic
until you get out there and start trying it. I used to tell my students, I want
everyone to get up there and bring a contact at the Galveston Fair, which we
have coming up April 11th, to see how it feels to bring a contact in front of a
group of, I don't know, anywhere 20 to 60 people, right? And then you decide what
you think. You got to experience it once. You know, I was very adamant about that.
And guess what? They learned they, they knew right after that. I think I could get
better at this. Or I don't want to try this for a while. Or that was freaking
amazing. There was a variation of responses, but they came in a clarity. I'll tell
you that right now. And there's, I mean, they know where they stand as mediums, they
know what they like, they know what they want to go forward with. And when you step
out there in the public and you have a venue and you're figuring this out, you
really grow. It's like anything with any public field appearing profession. It's
like your social media accounts. You start at point A, and then you're going to make
it to point Z. And all the other letters of the alphabet between that, you're going
to shift, you're going to change, you're going to become a chameleon, you're going to
become a rebel, you're going to conform, you're going to not conform. You're going to experience
all of this coming into that place where you find that fit with your type of session you
offer or your place that you demonstrate in. And you don't give up though, that's the
thing. That is, there's so much truth to the saying, Oh, what is it? The only failure
is the person who never tried or gave up. That's exactly right. The the success is in
the journey, the success and the strength and the the power come from the journey between
that point A to Z where you shift, shape, conform, not rebel. That's where you become quite
a piece of art that is a masterpiece and not just a crown, kindergartener, drawing scribble
of scribble, okay? And and you don't give up. You don't get upset when tickets don't sell.
You don't get upset when clients are didn't schedule a certain week. You don't get upset
when you get that review. That isn't five stars. You just keep going. Have this saying
I tell myself. It doesn't matter if I suck at that dem with the other mediums because
I'm going to keep going. I'm going to still do my clients. I'm going to do my dems.
I'm going to keep going that I'm not going to stop working with spirit. But I'll think
dang, why did that not work out? Okay, we'll try for next time, right? You persevere
and you know without a doubt that no matter what, nothing can take spirit away from you
and you wanting to work with spirit. That's going to go on no matter what, no matter what
happens from letter B to Y, okay? And so with my unwind dems, the space holds, you can
cram 23 in there. It's a lot of people. It's not my preference. With the ghost tours,
I absolutely will do it for the owners. They want they sell the tickets for that 23 tickets.
But for my personal dems, where the paying works a little bit different, I don't like
more than 18 and I've just made the switch of taking it more intimately to 14 because
I want that intimate space with my audience in that location, okay? Now, when we have,
if you, if you told me I could be in the Galveston Spinnaker room, which my company's been in
my school, my students, my faculty, we've been in every few times we've worked the fair
every time it's happened in the past four years and you told me I could have that Spinnaker
room every Friday night with 60 seats. I'd be like, heck yeah, because it is a very open,
rose layout space. And I know that I'd want that. But in this environment with unwind, I
want that intimacy. It's a wine bar. It's a place of connection and good food and wine
and closeness, right? Quiet even. And that's what I desire. But I didn't start that way.
I didn't know I wanted intimate there, but I do. And so that's what we're rolling with.
So I've got that tonight. I only opened up 14 spaces. I really upped my ticket. I'm more
than doubled it y'all. I'm more than doubled it because I feel like what I bring in that little
room at unwind is so amazing. And it's worth a lot more than $30 a ticket. So I'm more than
double my ticket price and I only have sold seven tickets. And do you know how I feel about that?
Freaking excited. I cannot wait for the seven that I get to work with tonight.
I was ready for 14. I probably still have a few come in. But if you want my honest opinion,
in a small space, I love groups of 8 to 10, maybe 12 at the most. But when you have,
and this is, you know, you got to look at your venues too. You know, how are the chairs and
tables set up? You know, you got to, you got to be, you got to be a chameleon. But then you got
to shift and change to that next camouflage pattern. So I have that coming up tonight. And
if you ever would have told me, I would take that ticket sales down the number and be okay with seven.
At one point, you know, four you five years ago, I would have been like, that's a failure.
But now, tonight, I'm so happy. I'm so excited. And what it tells me is that, first of all,
you need to know that when you go from letter A to Z, not only is the way you shape your business
and offerings going to change drastically, but you're going to change. You're going to change
internally. You're going to change with what you want to give the public with your own soul
and what's opening up inside and what you're drawn to and what where you want to express yourself
and how with your mediumship. And you know, that's always directly related to the physical life. But
for me, I'm in a space of close even my classrooms. I don't want six students anymore in my rooms.
I want three. What the hell? I would have never sought said, I'm not doing it for only
three years. That's all I want now. It's really crazy how when you start the journey at point A,
letter A, you will never, you will never, don't even try to guess what, what letter Z looks like.
Don't even try. I'm probably only on letter C, y'all. And I have changed foundationally.
As a person with my offerings, with what I do in my offerings with mediumship.
And I never would have imagined it. The most important thing listeners is that you've got to keep
going. You've got to, you've got to do what you think you want to do to know what you,
hmm, how do I want to word this? Okay, there was a saying that was, and I can't remember where I
heard it. I wish I would have because I say it all the time. I said it all the time in my 20s.
When I was trying to figure out what the heck I wanted to do with my life, I heard it in a movie,
can't remember. But the saying is, you will never know what you want to do until you do stuff
you don't. You will never know what you're going to, you're supposed to do until you do stuff,
you're not meant to do. And I told myself that when I was going through all these jobs as a teenager,
a college student, and in my early 20s, I would start another job, totally 90 degree turn,
and I'd be like, no, hang, I don't want to work in the service industry. Well, I thought I did,
but I really know I don't because I did it, and I had to do it to figure out I didn't.
And so on, and I kept climbing these steps on the ladder, and I only found the way of what I wanted
to do by doing things that I didn't, but they led me to that point of that aha teaching feels right,
right? And to analogy, use this as an analogy with where I'm at now, the letter A,
to letter Z. It's kind of like you're never going to evolve as this professional medium,
public or not loudly, you know, with the presence until you keep taking those steps, keep going
down the alphabet, and figuring out what you don't like, or starting it and thinking you do,
and then switching it. The goal is, is you keep going, and you move to the next letter, you keep
reciting that alphabet. That is what's most important. I promise you, if you are feeling like you
are a failure, and you're one-on-ones, or you're Dems, it's not that you're not meant to do them,
but something needs to change, a shift needs to happen, whether it's the venue,
the ticket, the ticket price, the ticket number, the number of tickets or spaces you allow,
I promise you, you have that wooden board with the shapes carved out in front of you.
You're just trying to put the triangle peg in the square hole. You're almost there, you just
need to wait. Let me find out what the square peg looks like and put it in the slot of public Dems.
Promise you, you just need to shift a little bit. And not to give up, you know, don't throw away
that wooden slab with the shapes cut out, you know, you keep it because that's your journey.
And you play around with your pegs and you don't give up, right? So this podcast, podcast, I guess
is a motivational one, taking you along with where I'm at between my A to Z alphabet and hoping
that it brings you some awareness as to your letters of your alphabet and your journey and your
perseverance and your shifting and growing and evolving, basically your journey of the soul
that comes with being a medium, right? Until next time, listeners, bye-bye.
