If you two did yesterday morning, I told you that there was a going to be a change at left guard that landed Dickerson was obviously banged up and they were looking at through

Kendall and sure enough, as the day went on, the Eagles place landed Dickerson on the IR and incomes through Kendall. So I mean, look, it was to be expected. Like everybody saw it. He can't move. He said he got rolled up on during training camp and he just, you know, I just think the guy's body just is giving out. Right? Like, you know, I mean, this is just life and it's changed for the landed Dickerson because the guy's a warrior, right? The guy is a guy's a big time, big time warrior was the terrific player and his body is giving out. I think every fan knows that. We all saw them in the tape was ugly, right? He couldn't move. There was one play where Jaylin gets beat. I mean, the landing gets beat like on a move and he comes right in on Jaylin. Like, Jaylin, it's, it's immediate,

right? Where Jaylin's under under deras and he just can't have that. Like, you know, the run game, you saw SafeOne just getting blown up, getting the, having the brake tackles in the backfield, like that's he just, you know, something had to give and they saw it. It wasn't even worth saying, hey, let's see what happens against Tennessee. You got to act and they acted and that's what they need to do. Now, the good thing is you got some depth, right? Like, let's see Kendall. Got to hear great things about them. You got Willie Lampkin, right behind him. So you got some depth and he's here, apart of that line, how we kind of, you kind of know in the back of his mind that landed was if he just, he, you know, did not have a great summer. And, you know, there it is. It plays out. All right. That's kind of how I look at it. I mean, you know, hopefully that that Kendall comes in and could just calm everything down and you got to work on your offense. Like this offense

is going to be a worker progress. So there's going to be these moments like we saw Sunday, where it was second and 18 and the completion and the next thing, you know, there's booze rated down going to feels like last year and then jailing scrambles for the first down. And it was like, all right, good. Then he wants to throw in the touchdown, I got it. So that's good. Right. So we got that. We need some grace for this offense. That's this way it's going to be until it starts to get cooked, it's going to cook a little bit. And hopefully Kendall provides some stability in the interior part of that line, which needs to be better. And quite frankly, Kim Jerk is needs to be better too. Right. Now we will go, we will go today's a good tape day because it's Tuesday. It's kind of like you slept on the emotions. It's the day, day after. Right. And so now you wake up fresh eyes. You've

seen the tape. I saw the tape. We got Baldy and Franny and St. Francis on today. Baldy pointed this out yesterday. And it was kind of surprising to me because at first blush, I thought Jalen Carter played really well. Right. He had the fumble and he had the block kick. But Baldy saw on the tape. And he was texted with me yesterday about how Carter needs to play better. So what's I found interesting? But that's what the tape, the tape, that's the eye of the sky. And it doesn't lie. Right. Like that's what you see. So we'll dive into what the tape says for Sunday and kind of look ahead to Tennessee a little bit. Perfect Tuesday. With Baldy and Franny films, we'll get into that last night. Chiefs. You know, I was thinking about this because he walked Kenneth Walker had a day of all days, right. And it was all

this whole story coming into it. Well, Andy, who has always loved the past, well, he run the ball. And you know, partly always thought that he got a, he got a bad rap with that a little bit like I agree. There were times when he got a little pass happy. There were the 50, I'd never forget there was a game against Cincinnati that in Cincinnati that ended with a tie. And it was a very windy day and don't have been through it like 50 times. And it was like, oh, he's got to run the ball, run it, run it. His philosophy was always you, you got a, you got a run, you got to throw early and run late, right? Like that was always what he did last night. It was just run. He has Walker and he's like, we're just going to run. And it was, it was awesome. It was actually fun to see as I, I'm a hate, I hate Sean Payton, right? I just think he's a creep. So I was happy to see that Chiefs

kind of, you know, just go all in on that, when that guy, and my boy has lost, he's got a young secondary. He's got a young front and Spags did a great job again. He's a great coach, man. I say it all the time. I still can't believe that he's not a head coach somewhere. It boggles my mind that he's not a head coach. The guy, the guy is an incredible football coach. Just an incredible football coach. And he started again last night, like he had bow nicks. Well, I don't like bow nicks. I was telling you, we were talking about this and we were talking about next. I'm like, I just don't feel it. Bow next. And I mean, he was, we were talking about skittish and happy feet and everything else, man. Spags had him cowering last night. It was, it was pretty cool. I love football. I just, I watched every second of that game. I watched every second of the Sunday night. Just,

it's just the best, the best half of the back. And I love baseball. And I love, I especially love this time of the year where there's a show woke up this morning. It was 55 degrees. And games matter, right? Now it all matters. And we begin a very important week for the fight against Washington. So you got to win now. Sanchez against Jackson Kent. And I have to win. You just got to win. Here's the deal. Cubs beat the braves last night sticking braves. They can't even beat the cubs. So the fills are one or a half game behind Chicago. Now you also got to look at the Padres because the Padres are a game behind. And they got the Rockies this week for with Colorado. They pounded, they won last night. So you got to keep an eye on them because if the fills slip to the third wild card, lobe a hold, they get Atlanta. And it's

the braves. I still got to win the wild cards. If you get the top wild card, at least you get home field against Chicago, because I just do not want to go to Wrigley Field. And I'm not giving up hope. I know people are like, well, it's waiting to see our friend Pat McClune had a great line last night. He goes, listen, because I was bringing up the fillies and they are texturing and I said, and he's like, listen, you just got to kiss it up the God. What's the playoffs starts? You just got to do that. You all this consternation of where they fall the wild card. You just got to kiss it up the God and hope they start to get hot and they hit. And then next thing you know, they're making a run. And it was sound advice, but I can't take it. Good morning, violations, Greg. Good morning. Yeah, I can't do just kissing up the God. I can't do that. Come on, man. It's good advice because it's quite frankly, that's kind of what it's about. I don't know, I guess. Well, you get got to trust God more than you trust these bats and stuff.

There's the most frustrating team I can remember. They are like, they come home. I don't even know if I want to play at home in the playoffs because they come off that good road trip. They come home and they go right back to the real tendencies. They were chasing out of the zone. They looked like the same team once they came home. I don't know. I'm just I feel like I feel like. Yeah, but they play that's not entirely true. Like they play the brave off here, but they didn't play great pitching. Except for sale. I mean, they played the break. I know if I was too cute in the series. I know the story too. You look there's been breakdowns and like what they they're ten to whatever. I hear ten to these returns. I don't hear the correlation of home road. I don't I don't believe it. I just don't and you want to is winning with your Atlanta. They play horrible. Yeah, at this point it's like, come so what is the matter like home road? I mean, there's their tendencies. They're stupid. They have a tendency to be dumb. That's their tendency. They have a tendency to play dumb baseball.

And it's infectious. Arise is now 280 hitters. He was bad 320. He was not 320. He's got here. Now he's hit 280 because he's come here. You know, it's crazy. But this this arthoud is the most maddy town. The fillies. It is without a doubt a roller coaster. Yeah, I mean, sick about it. After the All Star break, it was down. Yeah, then they go to the cornfield. That it was yeah, and then it was again down. Yeah, and it was off. It's not that. That's the team. The team is like that. Yeah, but we all got your struggle. They're winning eight out of ten. It feels like, but we still we still embrace the rock. Oh, we love the rock. Oh, like this. Oh, yeah, we wouldn't know what we can do. Like, hey, it's baseball and you're going to have a minute. Now they're excessive with the roller coaster. Yes, they're exactly. But we still feed it. Fees right in us are psyche. Yeah,

they're perfect for this team and this city. And I don't know how they're so dumb. We've had more. I was with the Brad goo. I used to he was hammer top or every day. I was like, what's up with your boy? Yeah, you go with manningly. I got to give him the year. I was like, they're running any at base. Same thing. Yeah, he don't care. Yeah, you got to give Donnie baseball a year. Yeah, it's not for got like two weeks. It's the same thing. They just, you know, they're just like, doesn't matter, I guess the the the braves Lopez gave up five runs early and they just threw it in. They threw it in a DJ show. Yeah, his name is pitch for five innings. Thanks. So they just gave that one of the cubs last night. Yeah, it's just the high fan base and the fillies themselves are just like, yeah, let's just wait till the post season. See what happens. I don't know, but I think here's the problem. Like you can't you still like, unless you're going to play here, you have to play here. Like you got to beat Chicago. I don't think they're going to. Well, if you don't play here,

it's a problem. Like you need like you can't go. Rigglies. Oh, it really is a tough place to play. I win this shoes. Right. They are nasty at home. I mean, the fillies. Yeah, he's not a home run last night. Right. Like so they're nasty. And you know, the last stop is baseball. And I prefer to be at home playing baseball. I would like to say, I would like to go to the last stop. Yes. I just don't don't feel like the sense of the pot trees. If the pot trees catch them, now I gotta go play in a first round. And I started to think maybe that's a good thing. Maybe they'll go down in the land and win and then like going around. I was thinking at this morning. That's why I'm just like, I really don't care. At this point, just just get the playoffs here. Let's go. And I feel like that's the way the team's thinking right now. I just don't see any like, oh, hello urgency. They're down. I don't know what they're down the other night. Bryce is doing his slow jog to get back at the cool. Yeah, it's like, what are they doing? Like, what are we doing here? I was trying to get serious and

getting. I love this time. Like, this is the great. It's like the best time of the year, man. Like, you know, it feels like every game matters that it does. Watching the scores last like with somebody is like comes up seven three. It's like, come on. You got. All right. So you got watching team with the two games series. And tonight here you go. Jackson Kent. Slop left hand or ERA north of six. We'll probably throw six six innings two runs. I don't know. They do. They went through a stretch really short. They hit those bad lefties. No. I mean, here's the thick. You got to change it. You got to talk that as a win. Yes. That has to be a win. Yes. I mean, it's yeah. I mean, I lose it. Jackson Kent. I mean, the nationals are dead. Like, they're not losing that team. And then you got Atlanta. So Atlanta tonight with Chicago, you got Martin Perez going against Galsman. That's not good. No, it's not a good one. It's Cubs there. Yeah.

And then they're favorite. And then you got to stick your podries. That now you're going to worry about and they got Walker Bueller against that line felt there who stinks for Colorado. That's socks. The fact that I got to worry about seeing the ego now. I don't worry about. Stadia goes not on my worry list. Why? They just always a junk team. Like, I don't think they're going to catch us. They are right there. They're a game behind the. Right. And I just I guess I don't care. Flip a coin. Give us the braves as it comes. The only thing that's going to matter is if they play good baseball and they have a good baseball against either team. They should win. But can they play good baseball on the road? I don't know. Yeah. The NFL and MLB, MLS, NBA and NHL is joined with their respective player, Juniors to crack down on betting related harassment of athletes. They should have a good sound of control. What do you, but here's my thing, which Adam Shepard just tweeted that. What do you do?

To stop? Yeah, only bet overs, I guess. Well, I know because people still get mad at that. To really get that. Prop bets. What do you do? That's wrong. I get it. Prop bets. There's no way to get rid of prop bets. It's like everything. These every social. No, I mean, here's the thing. I don't know how you stop it. Like, you know, commercials will throw some ads at right? I get like the NCAA did. Yeah. Which is fine. Like go ahead. Go for it. Here's the problem. You got bad with handling. Right. So you got to deal with it. Like, you know, don't feel social media or delete your apps or when that's what's going to have to happen. The players are going to delete their apps or make sure. But that's the thing. These players want the followers because they want that cash. They want to transition. Listen. We even tear our boy land. And I I didn't do indeed do it yourself. Home repairs. You got a whole cycle on these players.

Love all this stuff. I know. But guess why? I can't. That's where I draw the line. I don't pity it. Right. Oh, I don't. All right. Like, you know, one of the reasons why you're making a zillion dollars is because everybody sold out to gambling. So then you got to masses who lose their money and freak out. And it's like, well, let me read. Yeah. It's just, you know, up to the point because I read this whole story. It's interesting, right? Where, you know, you got these people are crazy, right? They're sending memo requests to pictures. Right. Like you owe me $6,000. Right. Like dumb stuff. Right. But, you know, it's ridiculous. You just got to even delete it or delete the whole thing. Like I don't, it's not going to work. The messaging is to have pity on these players. That's not going to work. Now, the message he's got to be, because you're going to be a better person. Right. You made a decision. That's you're the idiot. Right. yourself. That's what it should be. Right. Like, but you know, you, you can't like, you can't,

there's no pity for someone making $300,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. No, man. Like, I'm sorry. Like, you got to deal with it. Like, straight to that contract. You know, like, everyone against hate on social media. Yeah. The media gets the, gets more, most hate because at least players get some adulation. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's a place. Right. But the media get going. An endless job. Right. So, and you're not making $300,000,000. Right. Like, so, whatever. There's the price where you go, you know, she harass me. All right. You know, yell from the stands that you lost the, you lost a prop bet of strikeouts. All right. Well, you know, right. I don't know. There's a ESPN gambling experts. They all take heat when they're wrong almost all the time with their picks, their picks are nutritious. I don't know how he knows. You know, he's just thinking last night. Some, one of these dudes, there's a million of them. One of these dudes had Patrick Mahomes to score the first touchdown. He hits it and he's doing his video, right?

When he takes a shirt off and freak it out. Yeah. You went to one of the usual videos. Like, you waste my time. Right. Like, I'm happy. You want likes, like, you know, I'm happy. You want. I actually, I don't really care. Was he a ripped guy or is he just, I don't know. I, I, wherever I saw for a second and I just got it right. I didn't analyze it. And Patrick Mahomes though, what a quote. We did it. Quote to it with a lantic emotion. Man, do you want, isn't it really him doing that? I don't know. I can't imagine if I'm passionate. If I'm one of the five best quarterbacks of all time, if I give a crap, what's going on on social media? So yeah, I hear you. There's some guys that, I mean, I know that most guys are doing their own social media. Wow. Yeah. I don't know. I don't know how, but you have time. Like you're a, you kind of that kind of athlete. You have time to do that. I don't. Yeah, where's the care? Yeah. Oh, so hey, we, our boy is back. I think Lou Mann. Lou Mann.

Our Titans guys back with, I just want to, hey, look, look, he's found the show. But yeah, so, we're going to need a translator. I mean, there's one I smell trap baby fly, tight and fly. I don't know the title of your fly. I didn't know that was the, I didn't think they were. Boo. Yeah, choppy. He said with like 47 word letters. Okay. Okay. Tough guy Tony one. There's another guy. Tony one. No, Tony does tough guy one tough guy. Tony one. Kapal ski with four eyes at the end. And moonshine fo my friends. So maybe he's going to say there's a moonshine. Oh, well, I'm doing that. Yeah, yeah. Then randomly just says orange crush. Orange crew. Well, that's Tennessee volunteers. Oh, orange crush. I like Tennessee. I love it. You know, my smoke. That's his, that's his dream school. Tennessee. You want to play baseball and football. Oh, they got one of the better songs. Rock top, yeah. That's his, that's his dream.

His dreams to play D1 football and D1 baseball. That's like a good campus at Tennessee. You want to go to the SEC? Nice. I go, dude. God bless, man. Like dream. You never know. Yeah, we'd be tailgating some games down there. That would be fun. Get Danny. Do you do organized? Yes. I mean, that would be, that would be a, that would be a play. So we make a landed. You know, I don't know. Is this the, this, he wasn't on the injury list at all through camp or nothing. Yeah. So it makes you think, I mean, they're, they're, they're going over and I understand it. Like who cares whether or not he got rolled, but he said he got rolled up on fine. Whatever. Does it matter that we, we know his body is giving out. I guess it's made matter. Does it matter? I don't think it matters. I guess it matters in the sense that, oh, yeah, he's just done where it matters if he's dealing with something that can heal. Yeah. Well, well, kids are he's done. I know. Right. And he's got that five last should deal with the, I mean, the Eagles know that

landed. No, that's why they reworked his contract. Right. So if he's done, so why? Like, you know, the poor, it's a shame for him. More than that. He's seven years old. More than a terrible, right? Like it's a, it's a horrible story. Yeah. So I look at it like this and go, you know, you got, he has at some point during the year, you give him another shot at it, depending on what happens. Yeah. Listen, if Kendall goes in and he's rock solid, that's it. I think it wasn't because the claimant had a piece that said, uh, thoughts of Kendall moving to center. Yes. Because he's a little better with the play calling and stuff. Yeah, but I heard. I told you, you said that this was going to happen. Yeah. During the show yesterday morning, I said it was going to happen. I think they're going to go Kendall at guard. I think, uh, it's what they're leaning. Okay. And only because, and again, I, listen, at some point, cams got to play better. Yeah. Not,

apparently I watched Fanny get Franny's breakdown. He thought it was a better game than I thought he had. Yes. Yeah. I did not think you had a good game there. But I was, it will be interesting today because we got all of our, uh, today's the tape day. So we got Bouldie at 10 and St. Francis at 1030. It's like, so Bouldie, it'd be, I guess they were going back for these like, dude, Carter's got to play better. I was like, really? And I, I mean, I, I, I mean, I thought Nate, get I, yeah. Because he punched out the fumble. He had the block kick. I thought he played well. To me, he seemed active. So is he saying like, is he in a good game, but there were top opportunities to be, no, where he had a bad game. He said he had a bad game. Oh, man. He said, a fact called me clueless. Well, I mean, this is the, listen, I thought he was like, well, you know, when you watch the tape, the tape is everything. It's the truth. Like, you know, the tape,

and they roll their eyes. Yeah. But it's really the only way you could actually hold in see how guy played like shirt guys like coup play bad. You don't need to see. No, no, land and play bad. You know, you know, you don't need to take the show that. But sometimes guys play good. Like, you know, he was talking about camp. Like, maybe that look better than what it was. But apparently, Frank Cosby owned it. Wow. That's surprising. Yeah. This is interesting. Bolly also put out a little workout video yesterday. I saw it. Yeah, I saw it. Got it loaded for later on. Yeah. Yeah. Why not? He looks great. Ah, it looks like a main dot. He looks like he's right. He's 40 years old. Yeah. Yeah. He's the best. All right. Uh, uh, he just just saw, let's see. Let's see. He had a reaction over there. I was like, what's going on? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We say it's creepy. Oh, crazy. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

That's the best. Oh, my God. Philly's there. Eight is that he right. Philly's there. Eight twenty one against L.A. Chicago Atlanta Milwaukee. Yeah. They're eight twenty one. Their milk toast tossed it in the bin. In the last time they've won it. I can't do that, Eddie. I can't, you know, I can't do it. The last time they won a series against any team currently in the playoffs is like April, I think, or May. All right. Well, I remember that, you know, I know, I know. My boy, he's seeing on, on X who I love. I was saying thing because he's like, you miss guy. I know what the Philly's I, my eyes are open. I just don't want to, this could be the last run for this team, depending on what happens to labor situation. Yeah. I kind of feel, I felt coming into the season and it feels like this was kind of a throwaway season for them. They got a ton of money coming off the books.

How could be a throwaway? I just felt like they were holding Pat with their spending. They got a like 80 mil coming off the books and they were going to regroup after the season. That's what it felt like to me coming into this. You can't do it. It was not a throwaway season. They went after the shit. That was the one move. And that was the one. That was the only big move they were trying to make. Yeah. It wasn't a throwaway. You can't throw away anything. You got a raging, it makes you sick with the history of it. I'm excited for this guy unless they're all, but don't browse key unless they're all on the same plan, all on the same. There's no way. Listen, there's no way this was a throwaway. Well, they're like, we got a good team. Let's see how we do. Let's, we're, we've capped our spending. Let's see how we do. We'll regroup after the season. Wow. They, spending spending. They don't want to spend. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, they, they feel like they spend enough. And I get it. You had, you spent a lot of money. You're the fourth highest payroll. I get it. But, you know, I, my eyes get back to the big picture. My eyes are open.

I just don't, because I don't know what's going to happen in the future. I mean, Wheeler could be done. There may not be baseball. Well, that's the point. Yeah. There could be some lengthy thing. I don't know how long Wheeler is going to give you. There's no way he's going out like this. So he'll be back. I know. But, you know, what capacity, right? Like how many years are going to have bricings and shoreboard? Add that had to be this effective. Yeah. Two. You know, you get my point. Like this is the closing window. You know, that like, that's why I want to win. I enjoy this stuff. I, you know, October. They're very frustrating. They're hard to enjoy. I know. I know. Well, Cory will join us coming up. I got to get Cory into the conversation because he'll provide some good quality conversations. Oh, Jake Freel's. He's going to be dog do do for a long time with these contracts. So необходимо. This is a day. This is this is a great time. And here'll be a couple weeks left. It's a great race. I mean, it's Philly's Cubs and now Padres are all bunched together. Yeah, and the Cubs won last night against the Braves kind of an unfortunate result because the Braves by beating the Philly so frequently over the last two weeks have kind of eliminated the NL East from the picture here. So when we talked last week, it was well, every night it might be a different rooting conversation. But right now you're just rooting for the Braves to beat the Cubs because the Phills are now a game and a half behind Chicago for that top wild card spot when you include the tiebreaker. Only a half weeks and also the tiebreaker as well. So with 12 to play, the odds of the Philly's leaping the Cubs again, probably not good.

And so the pathway, now you know what it is. I mean, you know that the pathway at this point is pretty much going to be if you want to get to the world series, you're going to have to get past the Cubs and then you're going to have to get past two out of three of like the Dodgers, Brewers and Braves. So if this team is able to make a run, it would be like the highest degree of difficulty that it's had since this, since this core started making playoff runs back in 2022. So there is another way. If you can say that if the Rocky, if the Padres overtake, you'd have the Rockies this week, they're a game behind. The Philly's got the tiebreaker against San Diego. Yeah, they do. They went six and oh, that was the one broad team. They performed well against right. So you like to step really means you're too behind, but if they catch the Philly's Philly's get the break, I almost would rather take another shot at the Braves because the upside is you beat Atlanta down there. You you could go on a run. Cause you know, this team gets confident.

Rickley's out of high. Rickley scares me. Yeah, I mean a couple of weeks ago, I was saying the same thing and I had been saying the same thing for much of the second half that like I'd rather face the Braves and the Cubs because the Braves look more susceptible to me. They don't have much starting pitching beyond Chris sale, but the Philly's have lost every series of the Braves this season. They went three and nine against them. They're seven and 21 against those. Yeah, I know. In the NL playoff picture. They had the Philly's are the full. The Philly's have lost all nine series to those teams. Braves, Dodgers, Brewers, Cubs. They are O and nine in nine series. They have the one more the final week of the season against the Brewers, but like really honestly at this point, it's just us crossing our fingers and hoping because they've lost every series to the teams better than them. So the first time they do is the first time they are going to, you know, anything can happen in a short series. I know that the Philly's didn't perform well against these playoff teams in 2022 either and then made that deep run. But this just, they need to play a different brand of baseball. They played pretty much all year, safe for the month of August.

And in the month of August, they didn't face those top teams. You know, you think back to like this run like from 2022 on, this is the toughest NL playoff picture. The Philly's have been a part of, you know, 2024. It was like the Dodgers and Philly's 2025. It was seen as like the Dodgers and Philly's going into the playoffs. This year, you have four teams clearly ahead of the Philly. So it's a different, different conversation. No, it is. You sound like Pat McCloon because Pat's like, listen, he's like, you just got to kiss it up to God in October. Like see what happens. Like that's what you got to do. And he's right. I, you know, I'm a loser. I'm looking, I was watching some of the, I want, I had the football game on, but I was checking the score of the brave game. I had them on early. So I watched a little bit of that switched over because they come jumped out to the lead. PCA's hot, right?

Then I'm checking Padres. So I like doing that. But you guys are right. Like it doesn't really matter. You got to see what happens. Whatever the bad stuff is, you're going to be on the road. And you're going to have to try to figure it out. Yeah. Like all of these regular season storylines, if Alec Bome hits a three run homer off of Imanaga and his first or second at bat in game one of the wild. I'm just picking a right handed hitter, right? If somebody steps up and has a big, big knock in a key spot early in game one, the whole complexion of the series changes. Maybe the whole complexion of the month, October changes for the Phillies. For me, that the worrying sign and the reason I can't get too optimistic. I mean, hey, anything can happen. The reason that I'm struggling to get too optimistic is because the bullpen has just been so shaky lately. And I just keep thinking that like, okay, what happens if you get six or seven innings of one run ball out of the starter? And it's two one going into the seventh or the eighth inning. And then you need to get six outs before you get to deron. Like it just, we haven't seen much to inspire confidence that any member of this unit is going to be able to get it done because they haven't now for months.

I'm not like before. Alvarado's actually been decent. No. He's been okay. But when you put him into one of those pressure spots, he's going to be facing say it's a Kunea balled when a Kunea balled when all these are something like that or Olsen or if it's McFarlane. Yeah, he's looked okay. He's looked pretty good. I'm glad that the Phillies are finally thrusting them into these more important spots. But he's basically at this point. No, you're right. It's picture. You know, so like, yeah, these guys can get outs. You can't get too optimistic. Are you optimistic? Honestly, like, no, I'm not. But I, but I fully acknowledge that baseball is a fluky sport where anything can happen. We've seen like in 2023, Rangers fans were not optimistic going into the playoffs either. And then they went on a run in 2022 when the Phillies got blown out by the Astros a couple times before the regular season came to an end. We weren't optimistic and then everything changed. So it is. I'll never forget that day. We're in the group. Like the I had a, I had a baseball game. Mastemite a football game. And I'm in the parking lot.

And remember the Phillies did nothing. All game in that game against St. Louis. And it went to actress and a locked out one the game. And I remember going, oh, the Phillies won. Yeah. You know, everybody's like, all right. And it was, it turned out to be this incredible ride. They are the ultimate. I've never seen a team that's good. But be this much of a roller coaster. Go back to the season. Let's just start the season. Or we're all excited, right? Crashing down. Oh, fire topper, top around. Don comes in. Shoot up. Then right around what was it? June, when did they go on that little skin? They go down July was probably the worst. But yeah, it began late June. All right. Then you kind of went up a little bit down.

Then you had the deadline arise. You went to the cornfield. You went up. Then you went down. Then you went up again. And now we're down. Yeah, I mean, it was a terrible. Yeah, it's, it's been like four or five seasons and one. You know, think back to like April. Think back to April when Taiwan Walker was starting games for this team. Doesn't that feel like much longer than five months ago? It feels like five years ago. It does. I mean, it feels forever since painter and Nola were awful. That we were, we had a consternation that, oh my God, we had no fourth starter, no fifth starter. That was leading up to the deadline. Right. Well, now unfortunately, there's consternation about whether they have their number one slash two slash three starter in Jesus, Lazardo because that, like, among everything else that we've talked about, that's probably the most important thing. You have a guy here who's, well, I mean, it's a late season shoulder injury. So the initial results of the MRI came back like clean. So there's nothing like super negative or super wearing to, you know, put him on the

aisle for, for say, get that right now. But this is a guy who is carrying a heavier workload than ever before. It's September 15th and he has shoulder soreness. What are the odds that he's going to be back to himself in three weeks? I don't think that's all that realistic barring just a miraculous medical turnaround or some sort of shot going into his arm for like a temporary, I don't know, soothing process. But like this is pretty worrying because we've been talking about Lazardo lately as the most important member of the Phillies rotation. And he was, honestly, he was pitching his way toward game one of a playoff series. And now you wonder if you're going to have him at all. Oh my God. I know. I was thinking about that. I was thinking like, hey, you give me a breathe. There it comes back strong. But I mean, what's a breather going to do 29 starts into the season when he's at 180 innings like Lazardo is averaging a half inning more per start this season than ever before. They're about this though. I mean, regardless of year and time period, pictures have always had about of

shortness. Have to, you know, and you know, it's all about the varying degrees of it, right? I mean, yeah, but for him to, yeah, for him to scratch himself from a start against the braves this time of year tells you it's somewhat concerning to him. And he also said that Lazardo also told reporters that he had been feeling it a little bit before that complete game shutout. I know. My question would be, my question would be then why the hell didn't you speak up? You know, I get like being a team guy and trying to get out for the team, but this would cause, this would cost you a whole lot more if you didn't speak up. And now you cost yourself a playoff run. But look, I'm not saying that that's definite. A definite. No, I know. I hear you. Lazardo could get back and be effective. I just, if you're, if you're going to weigh that, if you're going to like guess which outcomes more likely, it's probably more likely that he's not the 99 mile per hour A plus version of himself that we've seen here for the last two months. Oh, yeah, you and Steve Sharp in the chat, Steve Sharp, their base run and makes me hate this team, just keeping it 100%. They aren't smart on autopilot. If they win, I won't even be happy.

Would feel like a dirty world series win. I know I'm in a minority, but I want to team that deserves a win. And this team doesn't deserve it. What TV you're right. Like, you're stupid, right? Like we talked about before they have a tendency to play jump baseball. People go, well, with a Philly's tendency, not a tendency, they play stupid baseball. That's, that's what they do. I, Charlie, the other night, I missed a call. I was, I had football and I saw something. I'm like, oh, he's upset because another blood there. Anthony, I don't understand. I don't get it. Why was so stupid? God darn stupid. I can hear him in my head. I get it. Core. I mean, the other issue is we'll look back, but who knows? And Sanchez is look terrible. And yet he's on the precipice of 20 wins, Sanchez.

I think he pitches tonight, right? And so he has three starts left. He could get that outside chance of getting to 20 wins. I guess he has two starts left going tonight, but he's had a really good season, but you're just hoping that he can kind of patch things together and be gaining some momentum and more of a rhythm as he gets into the playoffs, especially with the sinker because the sinker's been, the pitch that's been hurting him lately. With the base running, it's interesting because Jamie brought this up on a recent Philly show. We're on it noon today, by the way, but Jamie mentioned that the Philly's actually great out as one of the better base running teams in baseball with the advanced match. I saw what? Like what? How is that even possible? But I, I mean, Turner's turn of still a great base run. Abracin's start is a great base run or never gets caught stealing. Always takes the extra base, you know, Derek Hill is, but a lot of these, like, Harper, honestly, Harper makes so many incorrect decisions on the base pads. And almost all of them were born out of aggressiveness. That play, how many times have we seen that play where the ball is grounded directly to the shortstop? It's not just Harper. It's a lot of different. They run on contact.

Like that's one of the first words. If the ball is to your right and you're on second base, you freeze or you retreat to the base. You don't, but the Philly's just like, I don't know if it's that they are so obsessed to scoring every run because a lot of the season they haven't been a consistent run scoring team, but they just try to pick up that, that extra base getting from second and third every time. And I just hope it doesn't cost them at a more inopportune time. You know, it's a funny man. We, we have like, I hammer that stuff home to our kids, right? Like, you're on second, balls behind you. You go, balls are front of you, you freeze. Like it's the, it's, it's, it's little league. Like they're the travel bolt. You know, they really superstar doing it. They're a travel ball because they're a travel ball team. And they're used to thinking that they can do whatever they want. Like Bryce is that is guilty of that. I love Bryce and I love the aggressive nature of it. But it borders on full aggression.

It's the same because I have played Mars did like two games earlier. Yeah. And have a, and have a John Crooks comment and have a John Crooks comment when he said, like, up, can't care too much. Nobody else does. That was what he said when that, when that play happened. That the latest base running blender. And I think there's an element of that to it that like, yeah, Bryce Harper is a great player. And he's the best player on the team, the most important player on the team. But like guys need to get called out when they may continue with some mistakes like that. And nobody's above being criticized, you know. But there, I think that based running like you probably won't see those plays happen in October, but the games are so tight that you're going to be in situations where you're going to need to feel like you need to pick up the extra base. And it's just going to come down to in those milliseconds. You hope that whether it's Harper or, you know, whoever it may be, whether it's JT deciding whether to go first or third on a single that they pick right in that situation because they can't afford to give any of these teams extra outs or take outs away from themselves. You mentioned PCA earlier, you're going to have to face in four or five times a game.

If you face the Cubs, are you going to be, how many times you're going to be able to get him out? He has been so hot lately. And the whole way is tight. And he had it. It was on, I don't know, three times, he stole a base. He is just on fire. And did you see what the brewers have done over the weekend? They scored 20 runs on Friday night. They scored another like 16 on Saturday. All they do is rake. Raking base. Yeah. Yeah. And with PCA too, I mean, the guy has over 100 RBI's out of the lead off spot. He beats you in so many different ways. So even if you keep him in the yard, OK, but if he walks or hits a single, he's probably going to be on second he has 37 steals. Like he's every bit as dangerous as Ronald Bacunia was back a few years ago. So it's going to be a challenging series. Cubs are brave. I think at this point though, I don't care who they face. You know, it's going to be tough. You know, it's going to be on the road. They have not looked good at all against the braves this year, but they've beaten the

braves in multiple playoffs. Cubs don't have, I guess, quite as much playoff experiences the Phillies do. We'll see if that matters one way or the other. But to your point earlier, like the uncertainty of really field, it can mess with you. Like you don't know if it's going to be a pitcher friendly day or a friendly day. How a place, how the how the yard plays. The yards always like it's it's a challenge, man. How was you going to like it's going to be tough no matter what. Just bring it on. I don't know who it is. And let's get to it. Yeah, honestly, that's that's how I feel at this point too. Like we've had conversations over the last six weeks. Oh, can the Phillies win the NLEs? Can they leapfrog this team? I think now we're just the point where you can't fall on your face the rest of the regular season. You got 12 games left, which is two nationals, four meds, and then that tough final week against the brewers and raise. Try to go six and six or something. You know, that gets you to the playoffs. You'll still be in that second wild card spot. And then maybe you catch lightning in a bottle. You know, we'll see. Big far, big, big far, Jones calling this the era, this era will always be the lovable

loser's era of Philly baseball. I mean, I hear you far see, but Julie doesn't like that one. Do not like, I mean, it is pretty amazing. They're going to make the playoffs five straight years in a row. Yep. Yeah, I mean, what they would they win one game last year. Yes. I mean, memories memories are short because I'll take I'll take this way over 2013 to 21. Yeah, yeah, yeah, no one's asking about that. That was slop. Yeah. Slop city. That's why, you know, that's why I look at it and they are under its years with the talent and the payroll there definitely under it. Yes, they are. Yes. I mean, we killed them was the match year. Yeah. It's your Dodgers like that was the toe to toe series like they couldn't win either way. The next year was the band year because when you got beat at home, remember, remember

the one nothing game? No. I can't remember that far. You remember the core that weekend. My God, the Sunday and lose the match. Peterson. Who gave up the wrong, who gave up the home run? Who was close to Alvarado? Who gave up? Well, everybody gave up everybody gave up bombs in that series. Estevez, Strom, Hoffman, I mean, all the relievers struggled. The relievers really, it was the offense and the relievers that lost in the series against the Mets. Yeah, I know that. I go back to it. I go back to it. I go back to it. Like 2023 into 2024. Those were the two years. 2023 was your best shot because you were a game away from returning to the world series at home against the defense. That was the most applicable loss in full of your history. So Gary Stubbs first, right? Talking about the pool. And there was, yeah, there was no great AL team that you're the Rangers won the World Series and have been a mediocre team since.

That was a pretty fluky year for the Rangers to get all the ways that the Phillies probably would have won the World Series that year if they made it. And then the following year, 2024, the Mets year, they went into the season. They were so much better than every team in baseball in the first half. And so almost like they just ran out of gas at the All-Star break because they have been so hot for about a year. But I do have a feeling that we're going to be looking back at that 2023 is the year that got away. It's really, I remember Rob Thompson did a phone call with reporters as the series came back to Philadelphia that year as they went from Arizona to Philly and the entire tone of the press conference was like, okay, after you guys win, how are you going to set up for the World Series? Everybody was just expecting the Phillies were going to move on, but nothing's ever a given in October. And hopefully this year that can play out in the Phillies advantage that nothing's ever a given because if it was, there would be no reason for this team to even take the field against the four above them. But maybe that first series win against an elite NL team is safe for October. Here you go, Steve Sharp. I was out since 23 Dbacks, Joe 7, 6, Dbacks hurt.

Joe, Jay Miz, Arizona series destroyed this team, PTSD. Yeah. Yeah, that was, listen, you're, when you're up three, two coming home to go to the World Series. I'm not, I'm not forget being like, wait a second. Well, what happened? Like game six and seven. Which game? Remember Arizona started pitching them backwards and they started gripping the back, Su-Tai, trying to hit the long ball. It was fought, right? Oh, for five. And Merrill Kelly. Merrill Kelly and fought. Who absolutely sucks, Merrill Kelly. Merrill. I mean, Merrill Kelly, one game six. They won Diamondbacks, one five, the one, Nolo was your loser. Game seven, Ryan Thompson. Swarrow was your loser. That team had a chance to win that, that team had a chance to win the NLCS even before

that and create Kimperl Blue to save earlier in the series if you remember. It was a Kirkering Kimperl combo in the eighth and ninth innings, but man, how different this whole tenor would sound. This team obviously would be viewed so much different if they did finish the job at some point. And like the to the lovable losers comment, decades from now when we look back at this, is it going to be, man, that team was really disappointing or was it going to be that team was exciting and entertaining? Like, I don't know. But this playoff run will have a large determinant so on. And you know, you guys were talking earlier about how, you know, next year, the uncertainty with the lockout. I still think the Phillies are going to be a team that spends. Like, they're not going to, because of the uncertainty and the confusion, like, they're not going to shy away from making moves just when those moves come and like do other players if they find an offer earlier, do they take it? It's going to be a weird offence. I think they spend too, but what are you doing, like, to reconfigure teams? So bombs gone, right? JT still got another two years on his deal.

I get, like, Mars should start, like, start stays because he's so valuable. You're playing multiple positions. I don't know, like, how are you going to reconfigure? Obviously, you need an outfielder. You know, looking into the off stage and you could explore a Mars trade because he's a year away from free agency and he's probably not in every day outfielder. Maybe another team is interested in him and gives you something that helps in a different position. And then you go and sign an everyday outfielder. I think they got to bring back Luis Arise. I do agree that bones obviously going to be gone because you need to change the mojo in some places and he's a free agent. They also need to retool the bullpen. So like VG pointed out earlier, there is a significant money coming off the books like Castiános' money is off after this year. Have you looked who free agents are after this year? I haven't even looked who the free agents are. No, I haven't got too deep into it. I do know it's not a great class. Like you will be able to find relievers, but in terms of like the ideal outfield help, I know that doesn't exist because Jamie and I were looking back a few months ago. You're going to have to like never have a deadline. Oh, yeah, he had.

Oh, yeah, he got him. He should have did the wrong thing. Outfield help. Let me just let me sort it by outfield. Yeah, I went in that nobody's got a ringer 37. It was all trapped. Trent Grisham. Ian had like a Roserina. A Roserina who I still. Yeah, Roserina is out there. It'll be 32. But like that the problem. The problem there is that like the problem there is that if you sign a Roserina now, you're probably getting way worse production than the last three years when you could have, you know, so I don't know if this is the time. You got his own who's the he made a reference to the Phillies a couple of weeks ago, maybe coming here. He did? Yeah. Jazz. Uh, don't. I don't see that going happening. You don't see jazz coming here? No, I don't think so. I mean, it would be another left handed bat. I don't know like, uh, I don't know if he's the biggest fan favorite in the Phillies clubhouse from earlier in the NLE days. I mean, Shayus Azuki is another guy. Phillies might see him in a wild part round right handed bat.

That's the guy I love. I would love to. Yeah. He's a 33. I mean, I like jazz though. I mean, I'll be honest with it. I'd rather have jazz than, than, uh, arise. Then a rise? Wow. I mean, I mean, I'm not the, I'm not the biggest arise guy. I mean, he's what he is. I mean, why he's been like 16s. Sure. Sure. I like him for this team. I mean, it's interesting because a rise really has not been like Luis a rise yet as a Phillies. It 283 with a 300 on base percentage. So he's been about like 40 points off the pace that he's usually at. So like we haven't even seen the, the best of this guy yet. It's helped the offense. No doubt they what they took off and obviously got him. But his production's been kind of middling. I will say that, you know, for this, you guys got power and speed. And I'm trying to swing and miss and he's going to hit 220.

I'm I like, I guess, uh, it's perfect with this. I guess like a week and a half ago. We gonna have a go. He said him him and Maddenly are like this. The wives are cool. We're all tight. I love Don. I love the Phillies got Schwarber Harper. They got pitch in. They're trying to win for sure. He's always hitting. He'd like to be here. I think he's trying to add a team to his market. Yeah, yeah. Like smooth. Yeah. Talk the fills. I always thought he's the dynamic player, man. Whatever. I thought there was upside. Even though we're full on bases. I know. I was a little chaos on the set. He's got power. Yeah. Like, you know, I, I'm the worst. I, here's the problem is that I can't have a rise and crawl for it in the same lineup. I wanted to point that out of by the way that if they go to Rigglyfield, you have a rookie center field who's played two games at Riggly who's gonna have to be figuring out that wind. I know. And the weirdness of that, the weirdness of that outfit. I know. You know, hopefully that, that would be a situation where Brandon Marsh takes

charge on some, you know, confusing flyballs or whatever. But, uh, yeah, no, I agree that when you have a rise and Crawford in the same line of, and you have JT who I know JT had a big night. Big day. Not a power. Too many guys. No power. Yeah. If you have three of them, maybe you can get away with that, but it's when you start talking about like four or five. It's like a big ballpark. That's one thing and you're building your team that way. But this isn't a big ballpark. I'm still a pal. I'm still, I still want home runs. Yeah, and interestingly citizens bank Park this year. I'm pretty sure I saw like a week or two ago. Has played. Okay. So now it's like more neutral. So, I think this is Bank Park this year for most of the year, especially from a home run perspective has been like the most home run friendly ballpark outside of Yankee Stadium and all of baseball. Like more so than Cincinnati more so than um, uh, right. And that's not a mystery, right? Like, I never understood. Of course. Yeah. You built this park. Yeah. You got to build. It's what home runators in this park.

Power guys. It's why if you were to spend money for a rise, I'd rather go spend on power. That was an interesting comment when a rise was when a rise was traded from the giants of the fillies. I saw I can't remember who said it, but someone made the point that he may struggle more in Philadelphia than he did in San Francisco because of the park factor because San Francisco. It's bigger. There's more places to hit singles. Yeah. Not going to hit as many homers, whereas Philadelphia more of a ban box. But it means the outfielders, outfields are smaller. There's a few places for a rise to dunk one in. Yeah. If you look at the results, it's kind of played out so far. That's right. It's just 280 hitter here. Right. Anyway, court, fun stuff. Always. I love. I do love it. I love talking about it. Anyway, I'll be watching you and Jamie. You in the bro. All right. We're going to follow off the hook for his Jamie Buffett concert. Someday night. Flyers are doing their first game as the NHL on TNT home opener. The puck drops on TNT. Studio show live at state side live. You know, grisky in the crew in town. Oh, doing the show in South Philly. That'll be fun. Oh, man, that's great. On him. That's awesome. Yeah, let's go. Daddy, I love that show.

The TNT show rules. I'm a big fan. Look, look, look, I'm serious. I watched that hockey show. I love that show. Yeah, it's great. If we get the local guy too, he's one of the producers. Yeah, hopefully he'll be on the crew and come and tell us. Yeah, that's pretty cool. We got him. Okay. I love that. All the, you know what's cool? All the national coverage between the sixers. And out of flyers, we're going to open up. Dude, there's something going on with the flyers. I was at a bar Sunday. And we were watching the football game. And the woman bartender goes, you want to put the flyers game on? We're like, what? And it was the rookies game. Yeah, yeah. It was early in the day, but there's a replay. And it's all on people's mind. They're asking people they want to watch a replay of the rookies game. That's good. That's good. Yeah. Flyers are on the brain. That's good. That's a good thing. All right. Now, Jordan got fresh from the barn. All right.

Where he was popping iron. He's sure to hold the guys. He's good. He might have some oil on his chest a little bit. I sweat. He doesn't oil up. He might have oiled up for this guy. He sweat. He keeps it hot. The barn's hot. He's supposed to be hot. He's glistening. No. No, but God bless him, man. It looks ridiculous. I wish I looked like that. I know. I'm lifted by that law. Right? I know. You know, I'm keeping my eyes on you. He even stepped to the size. You can see there was weight on the bar. Oh, you can see there was the bar. You're like, ah, you know, this weight. That's nice. And it's one of those larger weights. Yeah. He does a big plate. He does. We do plates. You know, listen. I got antsy. They didn't do plates. Plates are big. Yeah. I do paper plates. It's a... Baldi. Baldi Baldi. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. It's box all football. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, got a Baldi Baldi.

He likes eats and football. I do. Oh, he likes me. That's a football. Oh, ball. The Yeah, there we go. Because live from the barn yesterday, yeah, kind of break things up yesterday. Had to break things up a little bit. I got to tell you, you look great. Yeah, you look well, you know, it's, it's, it's, it's early September because check back in like November. Yeah, you know, these 15 hour days kind of catch up to you a little bit. But yeah, not a good summer working out down the heat and Florida. So it was good, man. I'm feeling good right now. I know you are. All right. I don't want to waste time because you got to San Francisco thing going and we got a lot to cover. So let's start off, you know, you're at the barn. Let's start off with Landon and the news yesterday where he's on I R clearly, I was talking to him yesterday morning and, you know, you knew that that was going to happen.

They saw it and it's the case where she's shame and a dude was a warrior and his body just, you know, found him. I think he's had 14 surgeries because I'm going back to Florida state, Alabama, you know, obviously here is recently as, you know, last summer. He was never healthy last year. But you know, one of the things that happens when you don't play in preseason, is you don't know if your body's good or not. No, he shouldn't have been out there. He was terrible. He admitted it, you know, and but, you know, you know, I don't want to say that. He's been so worried. You know, you hate to see a boxer that doesn't have the instincts or the speed anymore. And maybe he gets it back. Maybe he needs a month or two months. Maybe he get ready for a stretch run. I don't know. I don't want to, I don't want to speak for Landon. But that was, that was not, you know, there was nothing good about his performance. And, you know, I've been there when you can't move. When you see the guy that you're supposed to be in front of and you can't get there,

like, like, your body always lies to you because in this business, it always lies to you. Because you're mine. You're my things that you know you can get there. I don't know. I still have this age. You're, you're just doing a video with plates, right? I still go. I can do that. I'm watching my son push it. I get on watching it push it. I get on. And then after four, I start to shake. Yeah. Yeah. No, I mean, it's father time, but everybody ages differently in this business. Everybody, you know, I mean, some guys, you know, the talent and the body falls apart quickly. Some guys that can go, you know, 15 years and everybody's different. Langed in his 14th year. He moves just like he did is rookie here. Yeah. But everybody, everybody's different. And Landon is, is taking his toll. And so I didn't want to watch the film. And I'm like, oh, this is not good. And I'm thinking, okay, didn't play in preseason. You know, maybe you know, that's, that's the, the price you pay when you don't play.

But, you know, that's, but you know, they, they've got to get that thing fixed now. Whether it's Jerkins goes to left guard and, you know, Drew goes to center or vice versa. You know, that's, that's going to be the next man up right now. Yeah. And I mean, let's stay there. Where did you think it can on, on Sunday? Well, I thought he was very average, but you know, everything has to, you have to play together. I know. We'll gather in this thing. And so if one guy is leaking and not getting air and there's penetration, it doesn't take much. If the interior offense line is the least bit weak, it all kind of collapses. And the back, you can look at the quarterback. Oh, you want the quarterback. I mean, I want just watching air Rogers. His left guard and right guard got beat easily in the first six, like he's already skittish and getting a ball. Every quarterback is going to go, they're just not going to trust it after a while. And they're just, and they should, but they can't. Now they're going to start to move.

Now, I listen, I, I thought Jalen played well within the, within the constraints of having your, you know, your interior line fell, you, it's a new offense. He made a, I thought his decision making was, was good. He made a couple dine throws. Yeah. I mean, you know, the which play, you'll love the wicks play because that's a dummy route. Like you, you normally, they're running levels. The play was supposed to go to Goddard and he, he threw, he saw, he threw it. You know, I put up a stat on Saturday night and I knew people would respond, but I just put it up there. Like he leads all NFL quarterbacks over the last four years with touchdowns and 25 yards or more. These all quarterbacks, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Lamar, you, you, he has, like, he's got a great deep ball touch. One of the things that he was good with AJ Brown was a deep ball. He dropped that ball of both passes to Dantavian and then to Devante.

More perfect throws. He kept them in bounds. A lot of guys told that ball out of bounds. Oh, yeah. He kept it in bounds. He dropped it in the bucket. Guys didn't make great catches, but you know, it beat tight coverage in both cases. And then, you know, look, it's the running, he looks faster to me because like I don't know what kind of conditioning he did this year, but he's running away from people. And I didn't think he did that very well last year. Now he didn't and, you know, guys around him. I will tell you too that I heard. He's much, much different on the sidelines too. He's way more engaged. He's way more into it. Everybody quite frankly, he's happy. Now you can read into the AJ thing, whatever, whatever whoever's fall at was or whatever happened who cares. But the offshoot is Jalen looks relaxed and happy. And I got news for you. That Frodo wicks was an AJ.

That was that was a. Yes, the AJ. Yeah. Well, okay, but regardless, I mean, 50 yards in the air. It's a perfect throw. Yeah. And he saw it. I thought, you know, under center, the footwork, the mechanics, all that stuff was really good. Now, Washington was, was blitz in their corners. They couldn't block their safety. Makai lemon. It might become a good player. It's, it's, we were just, it's just the beginning. But like you watch some of these teams in the league right now, Chicago putting up 59. You watch Khalif raiment. You watch Luther burn. Watch those guys block. Like it looks like it's the most important thing in their life. Like the way that they block to, you know, a five yard game goes 61 yards. And they, they did not block all those, it was, I am announcing game cause. And I'm going to throw one more hit screen on the outside. And they miss another block out there and they lose five more yards. Like it was like irritating to watch. If I was, I mean, they're doing. But like you, you, you're receiving.

It's got a block. That's what they, they have to. They can't just getting away. They get like these defenses are seeing these plays now. And they're just reactive. They're coming and they're just to blow it up. And I give Washington credit. They saw it and Philadelphia was not in a position to make any blocks on the edge. And so those plays were all negative plays. Yeah. Yeah, I'm a little worried about lemon. Um, I mean, listen, I mean, I, the kids is tough kid. I just don't know about the fit. And in this offense, like he's not, he, first of all, he needs to be in a slot. And he's not a, he doesn't have the quick twist. Like you, she guys his size, like you think that he's, like that's not a play for him. He's not making guys miss. Like you better block it, right? Because he's not making the first guy miss. That's not who he is. I've got concerns because I met him. I never met him. I met him on Sunday. You know, when you're that size, you better have some special qualities.

You better have, I don't, I don't know what it like Steve Smith was. Five nine Hall of Fame player. Like, but that guy, you know, he's right out of comp. Like he's just, he's just his DNA. He was the best. But you watch the Sean, right? Like you guys, he guys like that who have that kind of, yeah, but the Sean had, Tony might be the greatest receiver in the games someday. Like you see guys with that burst that quick switch. He don't have that. It is, uh, we, you know, because we, we sat here in this film room. I, I, I, you know, I mean, the college game is different. They don't rob the middle of field. They don't have these people that are just assassins in the middle. Like, like, everything closes so fast. What exactly? I was about to say it's closing time in the NFL. Yeah, man, like these, these teams, these, these guys are common, man. Yeah. Um, and so it's, it's, it's one game. Now I'm not going to overreact. Right. And I know we missed a ton of time. And so he's way behind.

But if you think like I would be, I'll just say this after one game, I'd be shocked if he becomes a true number one receiver. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, again, that's consistent to what we thought pre-draft. And, and I like the kid like as the college is a baller. I remember texting how he got, I go, what do you think of his kid? Cause I was dubious. And he's like, oh, he's a baller. And I agree. Like I think he's like tough kid, good hands. But dime is not dynamic is what I, at least what I need. You need a, like I got to look at some time. I remember like when Jamar chase came out. Yeah. I just just take, uh, Odell Beckham. All right. Odell came out one of the things he had. Like you can look at some of these test scores and you go, this translates. Like he ran a 395 short shuttle. Okay. Anybody's runs under four. Like they're stopping start that what you're talking about. A special, I don't care if you're a defensive back or receiver.

When you have that type of twitch and that's what it is. Like that, that's blinding. Yeah. And, you know, I don't know if he even ran the shuttle. I mean, I have to go look at it. But like it, it looks like it's going to be, you know, it's going to be a slow go. Um, all right. The thing quite look great. It's a shame, but you know, you can't run in that situation where if they had any block of the front, he wouldn't went for a buck and a half easy. Yeah. Look, he, you know, he's, he's, well, on the 40 yard run, you, you see the burst. The burst is, is the same as it was two years ago. Yes. Even the ones coming out of Penn State, that hasn't changed. Like he still has that. And he's looking, he, he, he popped a couple, but you know, there's so much traffic in the backfield. He just, it was just hard to get anything consistently going. Yeah. What do you think on defense? Where do you think on defense? Well, tape. I saw a lot. I thought, um, that bond was the best defensive player I've seen or weak.

Like the guy is unreal. Unreal. And opposite of that, Jihad Campbell is just like, I know he's the first round pick. And I want to, and he's a great kid. He's just out jerseys a kid. But man, he, like you watch him and Zach Bond play the game and you go, one, like, they're complete opposite. Zach Bond doesn't take a wasted step. He knows how to play behind his defensive. Right. He knows where the ball is going. The anticipation is crazy. He covered that tight end 30 yards down the field. Yeah. Campbell gets worse than coverage. I, it's this defense. See, I don't know. I think he profiles more upfront on the edge. I don't have that. He's like, I don't know. I don't know. Like I'm just saying like try to sit behind her. And I know you got to play your number one pick. And I know, Vic is, I could just Vic coach some of the best linebackers. Ever played his game ever.

Like Vic's been around forever. Don't patrol. He knows what Zach Bond is. Like Zach Bond is a big bandage linebacker. He, he, like the guy just doesn't miss and I've watched your high. And it's like, wow, man, he, he just has a hard time getting to the ball. And I, I know it's, it's all new and you know, it's different. He's got a coverage guy, though, dude. Like that's what he's not like. He doesn't have to be with the left. He's doing it. Well, he put your instincts, what he's talking about, born. And with born, you just said it. Both got instincts. Yeah. To hard doesn't have those instincts. So he's going to lose his man. He's zero. He has, Zach Bond has zero hesitation. Right. Like every seat, like it's amazing. Just they should have like, you know, in the Premier League, you know, they have that like that special camera picture and picture camera. You just watch, you know, you want to watch, you know, what your favorite playing is like, right, Matthew, right camera on Zach Bond.

Like the guy makes every play. And that about the athleticism. Another ball is that a balance where he high points that interception. Interception. That's going to lie back to doing that. Are you kidding me? But he picked up Stefan Diggs on a crossing route. Yeah. Like you can't cover Diggs any better. Yeah. Like most guys are going to be guilty of interference. Yeah. It's Cooper. They're going to, they're going to put their hands on him. Like he just played like I don't even know how you practice that play. Because you can't, you can't emulate that in practice. And you know, when you said the opposite, I thought you were going to go to Cooper. Who's Cooper had a rough game. Who? Oh, he, well, so looked at, I kind of, he's a slot corner, press slot corner. But in total Williams turn him around. Stefan Diggs turn him around. Like, and they got him playing at safety in two wide receiver sets. And I don't think he's a safety. Like I know he could tackle and he can hit. I know that. But the closer he gets to the line of the scrimmage, the better he gets.

Don't make that guy cover elite receivers. Like I just think like Rick Wollen looked like an amazing corner. He played great. Like that's a big upgrade of what they had. Yes. He's the only problem with Rick. The only problem is he will, um, he just, he has a hard time. I think this is just me and he, he, he probably punched me in the face. But he has a hard time staying focused. Yeah. Constantly. I focus that concentration. Yeah. Just has concentration last. But if you say go cover, you know, you know, the elite number one wide receiver, he'll shadow them all day long. Agreed. Yeah. No, you're right. Like he has a Doze problem. He's got to, you know, everyone's white doses. It's concentration like lock in, lock in, lock in, son. Like that's, you know, unfortunately, because I got, I got to say, like, I love Jalen Carter as much as anybody, but they got to get a whole lot more at Jalen Carter. Like I don't think you said. Yeah. Tell us about it.

I don't think he's a good condition. Cause like I remember when he was playing 75% of the snaps two years ago. And it was the best defense attack with football. He doesn't look like Samuel Cosby wired him up, wired him up. And one on one, a bunch of times, especially in that fourth quarter when they were coming up and down the field, like he was nowhere to be found. And I, and I look, they got to contract. I'm happy all guys get to contract, but I hope I hope he still has fire. Cause I, I know he'd like to feel gold and I know he punched the ball out. That's about the only two plays he made. Like he likes, like honestly, George Davis played very good. Yeah. Very well. Five tackles in the first half stack and shedding blocks chasing down the, the sideline. I need more. They, they need Jalen Carter to be great. Cause yeah, they do. They do, especially because the edge was pretty quiet. Well, I mean, you didn't see much from, from, from either guy, you know, and

then they put a, a KT out there. He's just a guy like they didn't get anything off the edge in that game. And I thought the offense line of Washington played very well. Brandon Coleman wouldn't get beat out there at left tackle. He's a backup to, to, to, so I thought they played very well as a group up front. Yeah. I, I was disappointed because, you know, I thought Jalen Carter would, would have wrecked them. Yeah. I expected it. I mean, I, I just know from Washington's perspective, yeah, they feel like they had a great day against. Yeah. Yeah. Baldi, if he was just, if he wasn't Jalen Carter, he was just a guy. Do you think, did he have a good game or he, he just had a bad game for Jalen Carter or a bad game for, or a regular football? I didn't see, I didn't see the, I didn't see the level of violence. I need to say, I need to see, I've seen him be violent out there on the field where he sets the tone. Yeah. It's that violence from now.

Some of it might be honestly, these guys don't blame preseason. I don't know what they do in practice. Like I'm out out there every day, but they, it doesn't look like he's in great condition. And I saw that last night, Denver was a joke last night. Kansas, Andy Reed had that team like, they look like they're ready for January football. Yeah. Of course, did you see the, like I told, we talked about this. We were with spags at the peace. But Andy can't is no joke. No joke. They were going to. I was out there. I went to St. Joseph's. Like it was two hours and 45 minutes in blister and heat. And like, there was no slow. I think maybe they took one water break, but that team is so well. You watch those defense linemen, like the rookie, you know, uh, the, both rookies are amazing. Thomas, you watch those guys running chase the football. George Coraloptus are they the Thomas? Unbelievable last night. Like the effort that they play with, like it makes my heart warm. Like it makes me feel good. I'm out. When I see that effort because I know how like there's only one way to play with

that effort. You have to practice with that effort. They'll, you can't just turn, you can't turn that effort on because your body can't get accumulated, acclimated to it. You have to practice with that effort. And that's spags. That's Andy. That's what they, why they go to St. Joseph's Missouri. That's why they're in little, you know, college dormitories for two and a half weeks out there for one reason. So that they made Denver look like they were last place team. I was so, I was texted with spags yesterday because like, listen, there's no love loss between that strong painting and the team, right? And good. Right. And they were, they were all, they were ready. Right. Like they were, they, they, he was right. Peter was, that Peter was going to be a good player. No, that's not like, yeah. But just watching the effort, like, you know, I was talking to Warren Sap to this morning. So, you know, because Jayla Carter is from a pop. Good. So he's got zero patience for any, like he's been a dog himself.

We're totally done. She called him out. Like he's been there where, you know, Miles Garrett was a dog last week. You know, like you go out there and you're filming commercials in California. Life is too good. Then you go out there and you do what you did. And Trent Williams just takes it to you. But like, if you're a defense alignment cause, and you're running your screen on you, okay? If you can't feel that screen by your second step where guys aren't blocking you, like something's up, you better turn and run. Like that, those guys in Kansas City, they, it was, it was unreal. The difference in effort last night. They did. They had Kenneth Walker after the game, I guess. So on his touchdown run on first and goal. Yeah. He said the film they watched to learn to play was tough to see because it was from the 1900s. That's good. Like the definition wasn't great in the 1900s. That's awesome. Yeah. That is awesome.

Like the passion that those guys have for the game. It's just awesome. Man, it's awesome. Like, like I, I enjoyed last night. I loved it. And by the way, I enjoyed Sunday night watching the, listen, hard balls, the novel one. He knows how to coach and look at your touch. I said, oh, we, the, the Giants were going to win this game. I went to West Virginia. I was out there and at, at Green Briar. And they had a week. I was out there during a week, they had a week when they went six straight days full pads. Like he said, it's, it's going to be, you know, they're, they're death week, whatever. Like it, like it was just a matter of like survive. But this is, he wanted a bigger team. They're bigger everywhere. He wanted a tougher team and a more physical team. What they did to the Cowboys, like you could give me all the defensive talent they had. They couldn't cover. They couldn't tackle.

They couldn't get off a block. Like it was just, they warmed down. Jackson Dart looked like he was Montana in that game. Like they didn't touch them. Bullly, they ran that same play to Singletary three times, three times. They didn't cover it once and one for touchdown. Yeah. It was unbelievable. And the way it's got a boo attacks like they, and the way they used Dart and the, I thought that they were going to back that off. They were like, I said, I said, the Giants are going to be a problem this year. Like it's, it's one game, but Malik neighbors healthy. Isaiah likely Patrick Ricard, C.C. Maranoa. Yeah. Like it was, it was, you have a 300 pounds full bag. That was NFC football. Yeah. You know, there was a time, you know, when the NFC East was, it was the NFC East and everybody else. The best coaches were in the NFC East, the toughest teams were in the NFC East, Buddy, Parcels, Gibbs. Like it was just a brutal war every week, Landry.

And you will, in hardballs, bringing that mentality. He needed to change. Good. He, he needed to get out of Baltimore. Like you just, at some point, it's just time to go, but he's going to have a good second act in New York. He's got those guys' attention. He really, sometimes, and you need, you need results. Like that was a good result at home like that. All right. Real quick, because I know you're up against it, but I, I got to ask you like, we want outliers. Like the Rams, what are you making the Rams? Are they outliers? Now, you're, your defense suddenly is taking big hits and your stud edge guy, all world like you just talked about is now on I R. Yeah. Well, I don't think Aaron Donald could just save him. He'll make a difference, I think, you know, at times. But that's a lot to ask a 35 year old, you know, defensive lineman coming off a two year hiatus. They're going to, they're going to have some issues. Like honestly, when you watch, when you really study that game San Francisco,

Mike Evans went right after Trent McTuffy, went right after Jaylen Watson. Like, you know, that it's just because they were sought after and traded for and given up high drift. That mean like they could just shut people down, you know. So I, you know, the press clippings of the press clippings, I mean, if staffer gets back to being staffed, they'll be okay. He loves that helmet too. Like he looked at it and go, I just want ball. Man, next thing you know, like, you know, Tuscaloosa. I was in there. I mean, these could be a little tad longer. Longer? I like it. Look at it. I like the little whole thing. Look at it. There he is. My good friend. My friend, St. Francis. Good morning, Fracette. By the way, can I applaud your peppers? Oh, what do you think? So they were terrific. I made a, this is like over the weekend, or late last week. I do the olive oil with garlic, a little bit of shallots. I used your peppers or, or,

or even that you gave me chopped them up. It's some nice, right? A little bit of, I got these fresh cherry tomatoes. Yep. And then over a nice, better pasta. Oh, nice. Delicious. And the pepper has a great, great taste to it. Fracette. The peppers turned out awesome for the viewers that are on the collaboration chillies for the first time out in the back. And yeah, they turned out great. I'm actually going to use a couple tonight for some pasta. Franny, are they organic? And he pesticides all over the organic. No, I'm going to flip them back. Yeah, it's all organic. I don't know, he's got pesky squirrels. They're organic. They're Franny's backyard. We do have the pesky squirrels as any viewers of the the PHOI Eagle Show can vouch for because we're constantly talking about how annoying those things are. But no, the peppers have turned out well. Ooh, nice. That's a great dish. And it's such an easy dish for you at home.

If you want a quick dish that's tasty, as well, get out with a little local telly, franny cheese, like on top, it's delicious. And the cherry tomatoes and the peppers, you know, with the olive oil, it's delicious. Yeah. We just got to stay on top of the food recalls when it comes to the local telly because we've had a couple of those this summer. We've got to keep an eye out for the local telly. Yeah, I think it's good. I think we're good. Right now, we're, we got a green light right now in the little foot. Yeah. I don't like, I'm a local telly fan. I've always been, you know, I need to do that. You can't go, you can never use any grated cheese, but that. No parmigiana or a rejana? Well, it depends if it's real, then you create it yourself. Yeah. Then that's what. All right, same for instance, let's dive into it. Just that baldy on. So we were kind of going through it. I'm curious your takes. We start with the big news of the day. And of course, that would be the landing on IR.

I told you yesterday, there was going to come down. And, you know, I mean, you saw it. I mean, it's a case where a guy's body just gave out. He could move. Yeah, we saw it up close over the course of the summer. And, you know, it's one of those things because we've seen this over the years. And you follow, you know, this team long enough and it's not just solely the Eagles. It's around sports. There are some guys when you get through training camp, you get through summer, you know, spring training, whatever it is, whatever sport, where it's a seasoned vet. And maybe their body's starting to go a little bit. And you're not sure is this a sign of what it's going to look like once we get into the real games. Or are they just kind of preserving, right? You're just, hey, like I was just putting my body on ice and I just got to get to the starting line, right? So we saw that they had landed Dickerson basically on a pitch count, a constant rotation with with Kendall inside Atgard over the course of team periods after I want to say the first week of camp. Like it was very early on in camp where you saw this. And so it was like, all right, are they, are they just trying to preserve them and get them through?

Or is this a sign? And obviously, look, he was not ready. He did speak yesterday and said, yeah, like I'm fighting through an injury that I suffered early on in camp. So we'll see. It didn't sound like a guy that was necessarily like, I'm going to shut this down for the year. We'll see what he looks like if and when he comes back. So I think they're going to go Kendall at guard and then we'll see from there with it. It's hard to look at like when one guy is that is swimming like that. It's going to affect especially the guy next to you in Cam Jurgens. But what did you think of Cam? I thought Cam was fine. You know, there were a couple of things because look, the big concern, if you're an eagle spanner coming in from a Cam Jurgens perspective is that he's not as athletic as he was pre-injury. You know, he's dealing with that back injury that hampered him for much of last year, where they didn't even try to get him out in space. They didn't do any of the pin pull stuff. They didn't do any of the perimeter run stuff that we saw with him his first couple of years. As a starter here in Philadelphia.

And so to me, watching him yesterday, watching the film yesterday of Sunday, I didn't see any athletic limitations. I didn't see anything where I was like, oh, like, you know, there were actually a few plays where I'm like, oh, like, there it is. It's there. So I know he had a couple holding calls, but I think that's just kind of, you're going to deal with that at some point. You know, it's an undersized center going up against some bigger defensive tackles. That's going to happen. I thought the one was a little ticky tacked personally, but, you know, I thought Cam was fine. So, you know, I'm not worried as much about Cam Juergens, but Lannan, obviously, that was a situation that needed to be addressed. So, let's look at the offense. And knowing that you were hampered with the whole landed-dickest situation, you know, I thought Jaylen played well. I thought, you know, again, Sequon, if he had any kind of space up front, you showed that burst on the long run, which your overall take on the offense. Yeah, I think the big thing is that, you know, they want to be able to run the ball better

than they did, right? And I think that there were issues that they faced in the run game that, you know, I mean, it was kind of multifaceted, but honestly, a lot of the stuff, I feel, is pretty correctable. You know, a big part of it was, all right, like, let's, let's see the change in left guard. What does that do? But then there were some other aspects where, and some of the players talked about this, EJ highlighted in this post game piece that's up for diehards, all phy.com. We talked about it on the phy.egle show yesterday, but Washington really sold out to do things to basically stop the outside zone, like, not let the Eagles get the edge in that way. Here's my take on that. If this is going to be your fastball, you've got to be ready for what defenses are going to do to take that away, right? And so, what are your changeups going to be? Because it can't just be, oh, well, you know, yeah, they sold out to stop it today. Sorry, like, we tried our best, right? And I feel the same way when it comes to, I know, like, Devonte Smith talked after the game and it was talked about like his lack of target share and, you know, his lack of involvement as well. You know, they played a lot of cover to my side. They played a lot of cloud to my side. All right, like, that's, that's going to happen, right?

So what are the answer? What are some of the things you can do to mitigate that? It's a combat that. And so that's something to just kind of watch. It's a one game sample. So I'm not going to get over my skis, you know, in terms of like the criticism there, but I will be interested to see what does this team do to be able to combat when teams say like, all right, the defenses are going to try and take it out, take the way the outside zone. All right, what's next? They tried a couple different things. We saw them go under. It's not like they completely abandoned the under center run game. They, they saw, they ran a handful of duo plays. They ran counter. They ran a couple of, you know, they've mixed in, mixed in some like shotgun zone read. We saw the 42 yarder from Sequon. That came on that play. So, you know, to me, I would say the biggest concern right now for me on my end, they don't have for the way that they want to play. Their auxiliary skill players are not good enough blockers right now. They don't have a guy that, you know, and this is this applies to the screen game as well. I mean, look at that. Look, look at watch. McCoy. Let me get blown up time after time. First of all, I don't think he's the

right player to run to run it with. But regardless, you got a block. They don't block. They, they, they need more from those guys in that way. We've talked a lot about it with, with a tight end spot. And Johnny Munt is like, what's the big? I think it's important to kind of, yeah, I want to like level set there with, uh, with Johnny Munt. Johnny Munt's a, as a fine blocker. Like he's a, you know, he's a fine blocker. He's their best blocker. Like in terms of pure block. When Goddard is at the peak of his power, like Goddard was a really good blocker month, month, month not there. But he's still not, we're not saying that this is like a dominant inline presence. Like there are guys in the NFL where it's like, oh, like this guy, he's an extra offensive lineman. Like Johnny Munt's not that. He's their best. He's the best of what they got. But that doesn't mean that, oh, yeah, like, that, you know, you could run behind him time after time after time. And there were a handful of plays where he's matched up against bigger defensive lineman. And he's going to lose. Like that's, that's going to happen more often than not. If he gets matched up against Terran pain against Charles Omena who, right? Like that, and that happened in this game multiple times. And so, uh, while he had a couple that were nice against the edge rush. You know, there was an outside zone run

early on. I want to say it was the second or third drive where he was able to clear the, you know, seal the edge for sake one. He was able to pick up a positive gain. So, uh, you know, it wasn't all bad there. But I do think that they're going to need more. If they want to be a run-oriented team, a screen-oriented team, they need those guys to step it up as far as the blocking is concerned. Freddie, it seemed like you said they tried a couple of things. Would you say you were underwhelmed about adjustments that maybe man you made at halftime? No, I know that that's been talked about. I've seen that there were some pieces out there where it's like, oh, you know, like they struggled in the second half again. I just think at the end of the day, like this was a, it's an issue that was similar to last year where we just saw all the three and outs, right? And when you have those, the amount of three and outs that they had, especially consecutively, like I think it was three drives in a row where you go three and out. There is no rhythm. There is no fear that you're going to be the sequencing of plays gets thrown off. You throw those penalties in and out. It's all of a sudden, like you can't get the play action pass game going and all those things that you

do to try and compliment your run in your pass and marry that stuff together. That goes out the window, especially for a first time play caller. So I'm willing to give Sean Manion and give that staff some grace from that standpoint. If they're able to correct some of the issues that they had in the run game and get better output there moving forward. And the other part of this too, they went up against the defense and Toronto Jones and Washington that blitzed over 50% of the time. They're not going to see that often. And so you temper that back a little bit. You make the change at left guard. Maybe you get a slight uptick there on the blocking end of it. I think that helps Sean Manion out as a play caller moving forward. Yeah, look, it just is like, you know, this is weak one. Like this thing is going to take a minute. All right. With no preseason, right? Like, oh, yeah, that's the thing. These guys did not play in the preseason. And you know, by design, you know, that's going to, you got to give them a little bit of time here to let this thing kind of. I told that too. I was like, what are you crazy talking about adjustments like now? Defensively. Let's go here. Let's start with Cooper because Cooper did not

play well. And Cooper really struggled in coverage. Most isn't a couple of times. Yeah, a lot, you know, he lost a couple of reps. There was the touchdown to digs. I broke that down on the show yesterday. To me, like it was a, it was a tough alignment for him where he's man to man against a guy where basically it was a bunch of shit. Digs is lined up inside. He's matched up initially on the point man of the bunch on the middle guy in the bunch there. Cooper was and digs just did a great job of attacking leverage and one. I mean, this is a guy that's an eight year vet. Yeah. And his skills route runner and just beyond. He lost. There were a couple other plays where, you know, I'm sure that Cooper would like to have back. He also had a couple that forced pause the other way where he did a great job of reading the concept. And those are things that don't necessarily always make it to the broadcast copy. So while there are a couple plays where I think he would like to have back. I know that there was some talk to about like some kind of an injury as well, like early on in the game. He was grabbing his missection. Yeah. So like it wasn't his best game, but I wouldn't say that there was like a cause for alarm either. No, not with him, but we're just going through it. I mean, to high cable swimming coverage. Yeah, he had there was the one play that

Brady pointed out in the broadcast, you know, that deep over route. There was another one that was kind of a there were yet a route coming from the opposite side as well. I think that's that's just going to happen with a young inexperienced player. There were also a handful of times where he's matched up one on one with guys. And it's like, yeah, like that's that's what you want. You know, and so I think that the fact that they have those two versatile playmakers with he and bond together that have that ability to check every box from a physical standpoint. I do think that gives Vic Fangio and this defensive staff a ton of creativity and any of the ability to be versatile with their play calls and the way that they want to try and attack offenses. So, yeah, it wasn't a perfectly clean game from from Campbell, but it was another one where I'm watching. I'm like, all right, like not as bad as maybe I would have felt walking away on Sunday night. Yeah, and here's the thing. I we just got done talking about with Baldi and because he was pointing out about, you know, we were talking about how, you know, he was swimming in coverage, right? Like, I get it. But his instincts like next to bond, it's going to he's going to look like worse because

bond has ridiculous instincts. This you got to let that kid figure it out. Like, he'll figure it out. He's a great athlete. He's going to be good. He's just got to play and he's got to he's got to get used to recognition. Whereas, you know, is that one he's uncannily good at that? But are we being bedazzled by the athleticism? Because when even in a preseason, he looked like he was lost and covered sometimes and Trotter just looks like he's in the right spot all the time. Which Trotter has to be in the right spot all the time because he lacks those physical tools. But he is. He seems to be. He didn't have if he didn't have that mental processing, he wouldn't be in the NFL, right? That's what like so like it's about under like what kind of player, what archetype of player are you at that position? If Trotter didn't have the mental side, he would never have made it. But he does. Yeah, but he's going to struggle on coverage. But there are there would be plays like they can't they would not be able to use Trotter the way that they're able to use Campbell to match up against running backs and tight ends because he would just be a

mismatch more often than not, right? So there's always going to be give and take with a lot of these guys. I think and when you mentioned bond like bond didn't come out of Wisconsin with those with those instincts, right? Like he played four years in the league and was a rotational player and it was like it was an outside linebacker. Right. Especially. He's guy like if he had those instincts early on, he would have been playing linebacker in New Orleans and by year two if they were like, oh, yeah, like we know what we got. So I just think that you know at that position, especially for some guys, like especially if they don't have a lot of time on task, bond did not because he was an edge of past rusher at Wisconsin. Jihad Campbell did not. It's going to take some time. So I'm willing to live with some of the negative try. Some of the net. That was that was a tough one with that deep overroute on the third lawn. Like it's coming from the other side of the field. Yeah, would you love it if he was able to read that? Absolutely. But you know, those are the I agree. I agree with you. I agree with you. I agree with you. And I think people all realized that I love try and trust my man. All the trots Joe Saye had a great at a pick six. But

he can't get your your lip and frame just said, I don't repeat it. You're limited coverage with them. I mean, there's so much you can do with try. Like I you see like, oh, look at that. Make those tackles. It gets to run. But how Vic wants to play, you really can't really do that. So that's that's one of the things. Bully pointed out Jalen Carter. And I'm dying to hear your opinion here was Bully was pretty like, because I don't know. I saw the punch out. I saw the block kick. And I think I saw another player too. But I didn't grind the tape. And all these like dude, he looked at his shape and and caused me. Own them. Yeah, there are a lot of what you don't want to remind me of. Cause it reminds me of the early battles that Fletcher Cox would have against Zach Martin. You go back to like, you know, a decade ago, like 2013, 2014, 2015, those guys had outstanding battles one on one. And there were times

where like, oh, that was a Zach Martin game. I there was another one in Washington. Why my blank on his name, the right guard from Washington was. Yeah. Yeah. And those guy he had Fletcher would have outstanding Brandon Scherf. Brandon Scherf and Fletcher Cox would have outstanding battles. And it was like, yeah, like, there there could be a bunch in the game where it's like, all right, that probably went the guards way. But here's what I would say about Carter. They're like, he played a ton of freaking snaps again. And I do wonder if that's something there. It's like, all right, we just we want him to be that guy where he's out there. We don't see guys that are three hundred or twenty pounds playing 95% of the snaps in the NFL. Like that's just. And we don't have hot and humid day. Exactly right. And especially when you play the three pieces. Yeah. And it's not just that too. It's the fact when you had all those three and outs from the offense, you're good. They were all those snaps like came in quick succession. So yeah, they were a place, especially in the third and fourth quarter. That's great point. Like he's losing gas. Like the guy was just he was worn out. He saw Jordan Davis on the side line. And maybe that's on Jalen. I think BG said that

in the post game show. We had Brandon Graham, you know, in studio. And he's like, yeah, like Jalen's got to learn that if he's if he's not a hundred percent of those, he's got to tap out like let another guy come in. So I don't know if it's on the coaches. I don't know if it's on Jalen. I don't if it's on both, but they've got to be able to kind of like figure that out. If he's if he's, you know, if he needs a blow, if he needs to, if he needs to rest, bring one of those other guys in to be able to get a spin. You know, Ty Robinson didn't play a snap. So maybe you know, if he takes six snaps, does that give you more of the elite Jalen Carter? I will say there were a handful of plays where you know, on film where it's like, oh, there it is. Like there's a Jalen Carter wrecking ball. I wrote that a couple of times down in the notes yesterday. I might just post a couple clips just to kind of get that out there where it's it wasn't all bad from Jalen. And obviously, we saw the force fumble. Like you mentioned, there were a couple other plays. He had the block kick. So, you know, it's not like he was a zero in the game. You know, I thought that it was fine. But yeah, like Cosmic, Cosmic definitely got the better of him on a handful of those reps. Yeah, fine. Acceptable. You said he was fine. He was just not well, but he also said and I agree with him. It's context, right? It's a hot, humid day. You're playing all those snaps and you've

got an offense. Well, he's not buying any of that though. He knows it's a hot, humid day. Dude, that's real. No, man. Come on. No, he's come always. That's, it's true. Friends, right? He's gonna be a come on. He's 25. I mean, listen, it's, it's, it's, game one. We don't play the free season and then you're on the field all the whole game and your offense is going three now. Sounds like some excuse making. It's nice. It's context. There's the difference between huge making and context. Reason reasons are not always excuses. Right. It's called context. What's the saying? Uh, edge though. Prequite off the edge. Yeah, I mean, to me, this was a game where those guys were, I think there was, there was a lot of like the moustache component of things where it's like, we got, we got to be cognizant of kind of keeping contained. There were, I mean, there was a ton of pressure on Jake Daniels. I think it was

like the, I think it was the most pressures for my big fan, Joe defense since he's been here and filled. I'll feel like they were constantly. They get these blitzed blitzed blitzed blitzed pressures, pressures, pressures. I was like, wow. And I think he had to. I know we got bit on the one, but I've already had to do it. Yeah, they just, they just could not get home. So there would, I think that that's something that I, my guess and we know how this goes, where you know, I'm sure that we'll, when the locker room opens up tomorrow, it'll be like the, the sacks coming bunches type of things. You know, I, I'm not as worried about it because I thought there were some good reps from those guys. High effort plays from those guys. Jalux hunt flash to get, I think he had nine pressures on the day or say if something, something similar like that, or maybe it was Brandon Coleman gave up the left tackle gave up, nine pressures and a bunch were against Jalux. So, you know, Nolan Smith, I thought flashed early on. So yeah, I'm not as, I'm not, I'm not super concerned. I like Greek, I'm a Greek play well. He had a couple of really nice reps. Now the, the final, the touchdown on the goal line to Williams, there was a busted coverage between he and, and McCuba or with, with, with Marker,

Seps, where that was supposed to be an in and out coverage. Yeah, the, the, the, the, the, the, streak was supposed to pick that up. There were, there were a couple of kind of miscommunication aspects of things but in terms of like, give the explosives down the field. You know, the, the, the flea flicker, he was all over that. There was the one target down the field where he didn't out standing job, great techniques. They, you know, striped for stride with the receiver, had his eyes in phase the entire time. Like it was, there was some really good reps there from Greek. Oh, do me favor the franny. Hang in one second. We got to take a quick to you. So last night we were talking about the difference between preparing for his season.

I talked to Andy and Spags on the rag and you know, this is one of Andy's toughest camps. They were going six days. They and you saw it. They came out ready to play. They bullied that Broncos team. Yeah, a huge win for that team. Obviously, just kind of reassert themselves, right? You know, they're down after last year and to go up against the team that was in the AFC Championship game the week prior or the year prior. Yeah, that's a huge win for that. I'm sorry. I just saw your thing. I didn't know you had it. Oh, good. All right, Frank. All good. Thanks, buddy. All right, guys. Talk this week. There he is. St. Francis. We'll get more from later the week. He's got an appointment. Chiefs are back. Yeah, they wanted to make a statement. Yeah, my home's wrong. Right on the bat. Yeah, you know, that's fantastic. Is it? I like, listen, I like the chiefs. Like, I don't know if you would them. Like, the equals beat the chiefs. Yeah. So like, I like to see the rubber match.

What's going to want to see round three? Yeah, no, Rocky three. I don't see it. He wins Rocky three. Yeah, well, no, I don't see that. I want to beat the bills. I blink the bells exactly. Exactly. We mean exactly. We can leave the bills. The bills are the biggest tease ever. No, I get in the Super Bowl. Now, now there was a week one, your Super Bowl bills. And what'll happen? Go fold. There's seven sixes of cheese or fools goal. Yeah. And oh, next looked horrible. This nice. Thanks. He had no. Everybody on the Broncos. It looks like he was screaming the balls falling out of his hands. Everybody on the Broncos. The Broncos. Yeah, Stake. I hate the Broncos. You do it. I do. I hate your paint. Why? He seems like a guy you would love. Now I know a lot of things about off the field. Yeah, I don't like them. Who is on the same staff in New Orleans?

Is this bag? Yeah. Yeah. I don't like the guy. I've rude against them. All right. I got a couple of feel good things. I have made people feel good before we get out of here. Let's go. We're in overtime. Oh, too, the city. As of last night, New York Mets have been eliminated for the playoffs. That's two. That's not. He's the temper of 15th in that payroll. Yeah. Feel good. Bye, bye, Matt. Yeah. I don't want to get a shout out. I just got out this morning. I guess Jalen hurts is at Northeast High School. And he's donating 600 Gs. So they can upgrade their air. He's big on the air conditioning in high schools, which I think is phenomenal in the Philly School. He's a good guy. Yeah. Yeah. God bless. The 100 Gs Northeast High School Vikings. Yeah. They work out the the the weight room might have some air conditioning now. That's good. Yeah. That's good things. That's awesome. That's it. I mean, we got some more. Go ahead. Oh. All right. See, where we want to go? Oh, Nipon, the Nipon ham fighters in Japan. Yeah.

They broke out a squeeze play. Well, it's not. It's your everyday squeeze play. Because you think normally you do a squeeze play. You try and score a run. Not these guys. Not the Nipon ham fighters. They score two runs on the squeeze play. Man, they don't have to play small balls again. That's small ball. It's fine. It's fine. I can see that happened. It was P-Crow Armstrong on second base one time. Yes. It was funny. I hate small ball. I know you do. I love it. I know you do. I love the long ball. I love good small balls. Wait, how about saying there's the difference between small ball and smart baseball. Like some all about you get a runner on third in less than two outs in a fly ball. Right. You know,

you either runner on second and nobody out and you're a lefty Yankee to the right side. But the second conversation we have around here with bunting. Hey, I love good bun. I hate it. Hey, hey, hey, the bun. Why would you ever bun? It just got two runs. The Nipon ham fighters just got two runs on the bun. No, I'm only you're going to you're just giving up and out. The race bought a lot. They don't have a lot of talent. They've a lot of stunts. They're the first one. I'm sorry. The guy that's got 50 home runs. A kind of a random Scott a bunch of home runs. DS has a bunch of home runs. Which is a Phil's. Have a bow. Bownex hit the podium and they asked him about an interception. His breakdown of why he threw the interception or what happened is pretty classic. Well, can you take us through the interception in the end zone?

Yeah. Um, chop back through it to the other team. Oh, yeah, drop back through to the other team. I mean, he's not lying. All right. So I want to. Julia, there was one from yesterday. It's um, Greg Olson. You'll love it. Oh, yeah. Yeah. He gave it his hype talk to his middle grade football team. Thank you. And I could see you doing this. This talk. But it's going to take a second because it's from yesterday. I didn't give you a hair. It's like Julia's quick. If I get it one sense in warmups that you are not taking warmup series or that we don't take the opening kickoff series left side of the kickoff team, you were under a microscope today. What I showed you guys from kickoff the other day is not good enough. So if you want to play on our team, your first goal should be find a spot on the left side

of the kickoff team because we got about three or four spots that are open for open for business. You got me? We're going to have guys run down on kickoff today. I want to, I'm we're going to find the guys that run down and they're trying to smack people. If we don't get off the bus with great energy, warm up with great energy, I will just immediately take you out of the game. We don't need any of you to win the game today. So I want to see kids that say we've got five more high middle school football games left. And I'm going to take advantage of all of them. And then I get a sense that it's boring or it's not good. You can go fill the water bottles up and we'll put somebody else in because it's not going to affect the score. And my crystal clear with what we're looking for today. Physicality, knowing your assignment and playing with great energy as long as you're in the game. If I get a sense that any one of those three things is not going on, I don't care who it is. You're out. I'm my crystal clear. My crystal clear. Let's go up to the buses. Am I crystal clear? I love it. I love it. Energy getting off the bus. I love it. I freaking love it. I knew you would. I love it. In fact, I got to text them.

I love it. But here's the deal. I had this conversation. I had this conversation with Massimo because he will drive me to my grave. All right. What day was it? Anyway, forget what day it was. Brought. Oh, it was. We played in a baseball game one night. And you know, he was like, yeah, it was all right. Like, like that. I go, well, you're, because he was up, he was upset. He was bad at last. I go, yeah, but you're not, you're football season. You're just guest playing. I know what your team, but you're the guest player. So you're not going to bat where you normally would bat. And you're not going to play every evening like you normally would. All right. This was a treat like, like, guess playing is a treat. Right? The kids on that team are going to practice every week.

Every week. Right? Like they're practicing. You're a football. So you're not, you're not probably like, so like, sit and listen to me. I am for you. No matter what you do, where it's a practice, it's a game. You need to cherish that moment. Because dude, I'm telling you right now, it'll go like that. Mm-hmm. And at some point, you won't be playing. And you will miss it. And you need to take, understand this right now, that every time you practice, every time, you have a game, you love it. And you go all out. I don't want to hear it's boring. I don't want to hear that you don't, you know, you're not, you're, you're always getting proof on something. Whether you're watching from the dugout, watch it from the sidelines, whatever it is, you could improve.

You want to be D1? I need energy all the time. All the time. You get your ass kicked into game. Your team's losing. Because you're not good. And you have no offense in line. You need to bust it until the end of the last whistle. Good parenting, good advice. Like I said to him, I go, dude, you know, I wish, you know, these movies where you go back and trade places with your kids. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. They made it really freaky Friday. Whatever it is. I would give anything to go back and do it. I lost the old if I knew them. If I knew now, I'm like, I've never felt it's not living vicariously. Because I, you know, I'm good. I'm good. But just to enjoy the landscape that is today, like we didn't have this stuff when I was a kid. We didn't have all the travel ball and all the other. The bats we were using were like 12 years old wooden bats or just eat up the aluminum bats. Those had the same five bats for a decade.

Yes. Yes. The coach had the same bloody bat that he probably hit somebody with. Like it was terrible. What they have is they're disposal now. I'm like, dude, you got to understand this and I'm a hammer at home all the time. Yeah. Like that's the, the one thing that these kids they all are the same way. They sometimes get on fire. It's generational thing. Yeah. Yeah. And it's always the kid that's got the fire all the time that will achieve. Yeah. Anyway, go smash your home run every at bat. Home bat your fourth of the matter if you come once a week, whatever. You know, well, no, no. It's not about that because he, listen, you know, he'll do his thing and he's good. Like he'll be fine. It's not about, it's not about, if you're if you're not on the team, you're just gas blame, you always bat last. Always? Yes. Wow. Yeah. Interesting.

Yeah, no, it's because it's a fair thing. Yeah. Yeah. Let me stop saying every kid's things, bat and fist. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. If you're like, you're going to gas play, you grow, we just go to bat the bottom. All right. That's how it works. All right. All right. I got one, I got a, we got a couple. We're going to finish with Baldy because everyone deserves to see Baldy. But there's a woman came on my timeline who I've seen videos doing this all the time. This is the pagan swears by this. The pagan, if we go anywhere where there's trees, she communicates with them and talks to them. She actually hugs trees. And trees will do this with people. They will reach out to you if you try, if you extend your hand and try and get energy to live. And this is a woman doing this. Back up again. If you can hear me, that we have non-believers back up below the back of it. Yes, baby, back it up, back it up, back it up. Now, if you can hear me, I want you to come towards me. If you can hear me and you understand me, touch my hands.

Come on, bring it up and touch my hand. Touch my hand. Three. Touch my hand. Yes, come on, come on. It's okay. Touch my hand. Show them that you can hear me. There they go. See that? I did not move. Okay, okay, I see that you're touching my hand. Thank you. Thank you so much. I love you. I love you. Back it up. There's a hole. One more time. I love you with people. It's free. Back it up. Back up. Back up. Trees are nothing. Yes, back up. I know you. If there's a sick tree, they will like send water that they have it to that tree. It's a whole communication system that trees have. It's quite awesome. I see videos like this all the time. First time I ever saw somebody. Yeah, I see this. There was no wind blowing the tree. That's what's going to ask it. Like what's the wind? Come on, just like that. No, I can find it happens all the time. I'm telling you, there's a. Beautiful. A whole world of communicating. I've always been a true man.

Trees are beautiful. Love the trees. Love the trees, right? Yeah, let's finish it up with a little sweaty ball. Look at him. Rep. That's ridiculous. Hold this. He's got to be close to 70. I was like, oh, is that just a bar? I think he's like, yeah, look, I got to play it on it. He's got to play. I mean, like, seriously, Paul, he's getting his leg fixed. I know. That's why it's unbelievable. So what happens when you don't have kids? With your shoes. Beer. Beer and medical cannabis. Put down the blunt, pick up the plate. That's going to do for us. Tell us the chat today. They're good. I mean, Lou, man, he is, he's come into trolless, but he's kind of endearing and adorable,

because his trolling is so bad. He's like, become part of the family. I know. He's one of us. He's one of us now. He's like, we adopt you. He's just like, we're in the crew now. Lou, we got you. Listen, we're not rivals in anything. No, no. So your minds will just come in and hang with us. He actually said, please don't block me. No, we're not blocking you. No, no, no. You only come with ever-get-blocked is if you're vile and you say, stuff that's just personal against people. Yeah, like you start doing that. Over. You know, we don't, we don't, we don't play that. That's it. Other than that, I don't care. We disagree with you. But my opinions, his opinions are whatever. Who cares? Like it's sports. It's supposed to be fun. So welcome, Lou Man. All right, everybody. His last comment. You're my dad now. Titan Tony is he going? You tell me. I guess I'm going to be. I guess I'm Titan Tony.

You're my dad now. This guy's great. So, Lou Man, do me a favor, call me in. Now, I don't. Tony, I'm on its own. Lou, Lou Man should hop on. He should come on. Lazy. Lazy. All right. Jules absolutely rules. Julia? Everybody, chat. Have a great day. We love you. See you in the morning.
