Welcome to the rewire podcast. I'm your host Ryan Stumman, and I'm here to rewire your mind for success You were put on this planet for success. You were created to succeed But the force of average is after you every single day my brothers and sisters and this podcast is the one thing This designed to help you fight the force of average and excel in every area of your life. We're glad that you're here Man, I was like brick flair. I was a private jet fly in lamborghini driving rolls roach dripping rolex wearing diamond ap's Protect with all that shit And you know what I learned from all that shit. I made a little money. I made some connections I got a little attention, but none of it's what I wanted you see one day life changed for me I pull up in a McLaren wearing a diamond watch Looking fresh to death fresh haircut diamond ring I think I'm a baller and I'm pulling up because I'm trying to impress these people
And I think having a fancy car in a diamond watch. That's the ultimate impression I'm gonna make a first impression on these people I walked into the rooms a room full of navy seals and green berets and they might as well have laughed at me I'm having a private conversation in the back of the room and one of the guys goes man. Fuck your job Dude, you could have bought 40 acres and a couple of horses man I'm been living off the grid. What the hell are you doing driving that car with that watch? Bro, I'm telling you you're spending your money on the wrong shit and I went Why use this to impression he goes there? Whatever you got to do whatever floats your boat About two months later. I went bot land slowly, but surely I've sold off cars and bought trucks I remember one time I threw an event the guy walks into the event and he says I'm not here because of your lamborghini I have tractors that cost more than them I'm here because I like you and you know what over the years the people that have shown up for the cars Some of them been good some of them have been very materialistic But see I used to be material motivated. I want the finest watch the latest trends Latest phone the baddest computer the coolest car the pen house the mansion
But then I realized that After a while it was just a car After a while it's just a house after a while Fucking watches don't tell time and I had to do some real soul searching because I used to be the kind of guy that material Things were the only motivation for me a more money more material things That's what that's who I am. That's my identity and man. What a fucking terrible thing to base an identity on When I started identifying as a husband father patriot Texan Animal lover. I start realizing who I really am. I love god. I love my family. I don't love diamond watches and I like trucks. I always have I've lived in Texas my whole life But I tried to be somebody else thinking that that's what success look like and that I needed to Betrayed this super said look at I've got 20 fucking Lamborghinis. I've got a hundred Rolexes and it fucking matter Now if you're in the cars and watches I get it. There's lots of connoisseurs that are into this shit Never really was me and now on one hand I got to check off all the things I've ever had on a vision board I'm very grateful for that
On the other hand, I got a good lesson in what really matters and what I hope for everybody who listens to this is when you Hit your lick and you come up and you start making a whole bunch of money You find yourself for fulfillment before you try to fulfill it with material things I'm not saying you can't have a nice car. I've got one. I'm not saying you can have a nice house. I've got one But what I am saying is that if those things become your identity Success is never ever going to be what it could be for you Remember that
