Wow, what a disappointing day for the Dodgers in South Florida. A day at which the NFL season kicks off with this first full Sunday. Everybody excited in the world of sports. Certainly the Dodgers excited about the final stretch of the season here with a chance to get one came closer to clinching their 13th and divisional title in the last 14 years. A chance to clinch a playoff birth.
And it was right there for the takein' and forts on the Dodgers bullpen give it up in the eighth inning and then in the ninth, a four run ninth inning from the Marlins and a walkoff two run home run dozen Tanner Scott Brock Stewart in the Dodgers bullpened and they lose its 6 to 4. A lot to digest from this one. We'll hear from the manager, Dave Roberts coming up in just a little bit. We'll hear from Miguel Rojas as well. We'll hear from you at 866 987 2578 66 987 2578. If you're listening on AM 570 L.A. sports or listening around the world on the I heart radio app. The Dodgers packing up and heading to Cincinnati. No doubt one that got away from them. A game in which the Dodgers had so many positives early on. You got a great outing from image she ends six shut out innings. He struck out five along the way very efficient 81 pitches over the six innings turned it over to a Dodgers bullpen that quite frankly. The he deserves better from in the eighth and ninth inning from Ricardo and Rika is in Tanner Scott a little bit of the defense and to and part from the Dodgers was not up to par covering first base.
You know a double clutch from Mookie Bet extended the eighth inning. So it wasn't all along the bullpen. They didn't get some help defensively, but certainly a game that Dodgers have to win. There's just no ifs ands or buts about it. It's the Miami Marlins. You're up three to nothing going to the eighth inning. All right. It's a three to game going to the ninth. You score a key insurance run on a Mookie Bet's RBI double of four to two and you leave it out there with a walkoff two run home run from Augustine Ramirez. Just cannot happen. For this Dodgers team and a couple of question marks to think about moving forward as far as this Dodgers team. Hosway to Paula continues to play well in the three games. I know it's a small sample size, but he does a great job and is at bat takes walks gets on base. We saw that today with a double in his third at bat. We had a walk lead off his first step bat and then the three run home run that he clobbered in the fourth. And he was huge for the Dodgers offense today, which didn't have much outside of. Hosway to Paula, a couple of other hits. Freddie Freeman hit into two double plays, which was not good. And Freddie Freeman's knee certainly a problem.
Certainly something to think about moving forward for the Dodgers is what to do with him. And the time is running out for him. He missed a couple of games. Didn't play. Came back the last two games for the Dodgers. Just turned 37 and you have to wonder if that knee is barking and that knee is a real problem. What an IEL stand of 10 games makes sense here in the final two weeks of the season. You know, you're about to clinch the division. You're about to hold on. Hopefully to the second second spot in the national league. I mean, the lost us and helped the Dodgers today with the Atlanta Braves. You know, two and a half games behind them going into action today. You know, you have to keep winning games. It's not like they can put it in cruise control. They're eventually the Braves lost today. The Phillies. So the Dodgers will mean two and a half games up for that second spot. The Dodgers really want to hold on to you. We'll get into that coming up in a couple of minutes. Let's get out to the folks. 866, 9872570. Just not a good day for the Dodgers. A game you have to have. A game you do have through eight innings and you get to the ninth and you attack on an insurance run. You got to win this game.
You have to win it in Miami and get on that flight, taking two or three. And if you win like you're supposed to and that Braves team that's lost to the Phillies did, you're now three and a half games up in the standings as far as the second spot. In the national league. So a big loss for the Dodgers where they could have made up some ground in many different ways. Witting the division, clinching to play off spot and picking up a game on the Atlanta Braves. Let's go out to Dan and Santa Monica. Your first up here on Dodger talk after a disappointing six to four loss to the Marlins. How you doing, Dan? Disappointed like you are. I thought that was one the Dodgers had, but. I got a two-four question for you. That's okay. My first one is. Any thought to maybe let him she and go out to start the seventh 81 pitches? I know he's. Maybe. I don't know. I thought maybe they might have let him go now. He seemed to be pretty good. And my second question is given.
I'm sorry. Now go ahead. Go ahead. Oh, my second question is given me recent struggles with Enriquez and Tanner Scott. Any thought of maybe Rocky going back into the closer role? That's a serious question. The air and Tim, you have a great weekend. You too. I appreciate that to your first point. And whether or not they should have brought back out. Image sheen and the seventh inning. It was the four five hitters for the Miami Marlins. I mean, you asked him to go six. He did a great job. The final nine outs and the arms you have down there. I mean, in theory, Vesia Enriquez and Tanner Scott, that should be nine outs right there. That should be a Dodger win. You turn it over after six shut out in East Alex Vesia. He strikes out the first batter. A couple of fly ball outs took him 14 pitches. And now you're down to getting the final six outs of the game for this Dodgers bullpen. And the fact that they couldn't get the final six outs is a problem with the combination.
The guys they have down there. And everybody keeps talking about how Egardo Enriquez is moving up the trust tree. So to speak with Dave Roberts and Mark Pryor. Well, yeah, he had been. But today was a serious setback. Today was not a good outing from Egardo Enriquez. And Tanner Scott, I know he was a giddy and excited about going back to Miami this weekend. It was talking to different people and got out there today and got out of the eighth with the strikeout. But the infields single, the bunch single, not covering first. Open the door then and then a two run double. He comes out of the game to run home run and all of a sudden the game's over and he has a blown save. So it's got to be better. It's got to be a better job by the Dodgers bullpen when you get a performance like you did from Image Ian. And to your second point, Roki Sasaki in the bullpen. It's a serious question now that Dave Roberts and this coaching staff has to figure out. When Roki Sasaki comes back and all signs point to him coming back. Maybe at the third and fourth game of this series against the Cincinnati Reds. If that's the case and he's coming back.
Is he as a starter? Is he or fourth or fifth starter in the post season? You don't really need that many starters in October. You need really three legitimate starters in a seven game series. That's all you need. And if the Dodgers already have that in theory with Yamamoto and Blake Snell and Tarek Scubo. And then you got a Tyler Glass now who had a pretty bad performance yesterday. Is your fourth? Is Sasaki your fifth? You don't need a fifth. And if you're not going to use him, except for a long relief, why not now make him your reliever? Your back end guy to get you out to go along with it and reek is to go along with the Tanner Scott to go along with an Alex Vessia. That right there would be a dominant, absolutely dominant bullpen come October. If you can have Roki Sasaki on the back end, whether it's in a high-leveraged situation in the eighth or whether it's a high-leveraged situation to close out a game in the ninth inning. Or extra innings, it would be great to have a Roki Sasaki in the bullpen. And I think that's a question they need to start thinking about.
And with him coming off the injured list, maybe that is the plan. And if he can come back and get a start, doesn't have to be a long start. You can limit him in the pitches and how many innings he goes in the next start and start whittling him down and getting him ready for October baseball. So it's something that Dodgers really need to think about moving forward. And I think, you know, as the clock ticks in the season here and we're getting with less and less games. And now just four games left on this road trip. And you come back for the final homestand. It's certainly something to think about for the Dodgers moving forward. 866-98725-70 is the telephone number as the Dodgers lose today by the final of 6 to 4. Dax Fulton gets the winning relief Tanner Scott gets the loss, he's blown safe and the loss as he falls to 1 in 6 a day in which Mugi, Mugi Betts extended his on-base streak to 21 straight games. Since August 19th over the last 21 games, Mugi Betts is hitting 325 with an OPS over a thousand. I mean, bottle that up, keep that and let's move it and take it to October for Mugi Betts because he is hitting fantastic right now for this Dodgers team.
Now the concern for Freddie Freeman, always we discuss with Jose and the club out show. I think it's a legitimate question whether or not Freddie Freeman maybe needs a brief I all stand here down the stretch to get him off his legs. If not maybe just the designated hitter, if not a couple of days off in the Cincinnati series. I mean, unfortunately you don't have a day off and then start a series in Cincinnati. You're going to write to Cincinnati and you got a four game series Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and then Thursday, a day game, a getaway game. And you got to come right back home and start a homestand. So there's no rest anywhere in there for Freddie Freeman. It's not like you can give him off Wednesday or Thursday and he's got two days before a weekend series back at Uniclo Field at Dodgers stadium. It just doesn't line up that way. So maybe instead and since in his best interest of that knee is barking to keep him on an I L stance to let him rest like you're doing with a show. Hey, oh, Tony Dodgers baseball brought to you by Madeleo, Madeleo, the mark of fighter. Yeah, this is a disappointing day for the Dodgers and certainly a game in which the Dodgers had in their grass need to win this game.
And you know, you look at the relievers they went to and you can't say, well, they didn't use their high leverage relievers. It's not like they used a Tanner Scott. Well, they did. It's not like they used in a guard when Reekas, they used in guard when Reekas. Well Brock Stewart. It's an interesting question because right now Brock Stewart, at least on my Twitter timeline is getting it because of what he didn't coming up and serving up the two run home run. You know, Brock Stewart's one of those guys that when he's on and he's got the bite on his slider. He's nasty. But today he got hit and he got hit right away and there was a ball game over in favor of the Miami Marlins in the six and one win. So a disappointing day for the Dodgers bullpen a game in which they had to have taking two or three in Miami because now you look at what Atlanta did. I mean Dodgers had a golden opportunity to pick up another game on the Atlanta Braves for that second spot in the National League. And they let it get away. Image she in six scoreless Indians. Hostway to Paula, two for two with a home run in a double. And how do you not like to swag a hoseway to Paula? You know, I'm a guy who I fully admitted. I don't like the trash talking. I don't like the crooked hats on the mound. You know, I'm just not a big guy in favor of that kind of stuff. But you know what?
Credit to hoseway to Paula. Hit the home run, thump in the chest, showing the power. And you know what? He deserved it. You know why? Hit the ball 416 feet. 416 feet into the second deck there at Lone Depot Park in Miami to get the home run and turned to the Dodgers dugout. It was kind of fun to hear him talk about it with the assemble media there in the clubhouse, including David Vasey talking about how excited he was and he the emotions got to him. And he's looking to build on that and he can't wait to continue to do that and produce and be a part of this team. And he also says something was very interesting about how you know, what was was anything surprised you about being at the big league level about being in the big leagues for three games in this series of Miami. And he talked about the clubhouse and this team. And again, this is a veteran team with so many guys who have won and played in October the last few years. Have won championships wherever they've been, whether it's Mookie or Freddie. I mean, this is a this is a team that's got experience and guys who have seen a lot. And now to see a hoseway to Paula come in and you know, be welcomed in the way he was in these last three games. It's pretty impressive to see what the Dodgers do to surround these young players like they do a hoseway to ball and for him to feel that love and to feel the NBA brace like he has been.
And these first three games I'm excited to see what he does in Cincinnati over the next four days because he'll be in the lineup. He was in the lineup in left field today. There's no doubt he'll be in the lineup moving forward for Dave Roberts as he is up. And when he's up, he's going to play as long as he's up with this Dodgers team. So very exciting for a hoseway to Paula. Unfortunately, in a losing effort today as a Dodgers give beat by the Marlins six to four. This folding gets the win Tanner Scott gets the loss will hear from Miguel Rojas coming up in just a little bit. As again, the Dodgers dropped two of three and Miami and it had an opportunity to pick up a game on the Atlanta brace for that second spot in the national league. That doesn't happen. And then also another day in which the Dodgers will have to wait to celebrate clinching a playoff spot and getting one game closer to clinching their 13th title in the last 14 years, 866 98725 70 is the number Dodgers head to Cincinnati and look who it is. Terrick Scooble on the mound in the series opener tomorrow. Yoshinobu Yamamoto will go on Tuesday. And again, keep hearing about Rocky Sasaki throwing a bullpen session and could be activated for Wednesday or Thursday in Cincinnati.
Again, I don't have any problem with him coming back to the rotation and I don't worry about him in that role, but it was certainly interesting to see if he can come and be a reliever as well. All right, let's head back out to Miami. Certainly I can't imagine day Roberts too happy with the outcome of this game as the Dodgers give up four runs in the bottom of the ninth and they lose to the Marlins six to four. Let's head back out to Home Depot Park and check in with the Dodgers skipper. Well, I honestly is I thought offensively we were good today. I'm scored enough to win. I thought I met through the baseball really well. And I think quite honestly is, you know, Eduardo's in, you know, Mookie couldn't come up with a ball with exchange and that led to some runs. And then right there, that's a PFP that Freddie made an air and throw and you know, Xavier's on, then they get a bump base hit that's perfectly placed and then Sonoa hits a ball that's jammed but over the third baseman said and that's kind of how it happens.
But you know, you give a team extra outs. That's what happens. And so I don't think it was, you know, it's just kind of it's baseball. It sucks. It feels bad, but you know, that's part of the game. And I mentioned the offense to be able to see us way to follow with just the quality of a bats that he's had since making his major league debut for him to get a swing like that three-month homework. How big is that for a young guy and just how cool is it to see him have that moment? It was great, great moment. You know, getting behind the account, filing pitches off, staying in the count, getting to a good count, hitting a poolside home or actually pretty executed pitch, pretty well executed pitch, but that was great. And then almost it's another off the wall. So just a great day, got a walk. So had a perfect day and a lot of youthful enthusiasm and really uplifting. Thanks. This was maybe the most uncomfortable we've seen Freddie Freeman look as of late. You mentioned the air or the misplay in the ninth as well. What's your understanding of where Freddie's at?
Is there a concern that he's not recovering as well as you'd like? You know, I don't know. I'm just talking to him today. He said he felt good. Obviously the swings don't indicate that, don't kind of validate that. You know, the defense. Yeah, I mean, I don't know. He's just, he's obviously not moving as well as he's used to. But yeah, I mean, I'll have him down tomorrow. Give him a chance to recover today than who you're back in there on Tuesday. But yeah, I think that he's doing anything and everything he can to prepare. But yeah, you know, I think the last week it's pretty obvious that he's not himself in the box. How concerned are you about Rojas' shoulder? He said he might get an injection tomorrow. Do you feel like this may keep him out for an extended period of time? I hope not. You know, we got two lefties here this next series. So whatever he can give us would be helpful. But obviously he's got to be healthy. So that's more of the training stuff thing decision.
And I'm sure that, you know, tomorrow, kind of late morning, I'll get a text from him or the trainer. He's feeling and then I'll make a decision, you know, early afternoon. So many guys dealing with stuff. How hard is it to balance that you want them to be healthy, but you also are playing first seeding and guys want to be on a roll going into the postseason. How are you juggling all of this? Yeah, it is kind of a juggling in the sense of, you know, the most important things to win games. The other part of it is to get guys healthy or keep them healthy to get them ready for the stretch run. I mean, they both work hand in hand, obviously. And then the other part is guys are vying for roles, opportunities. The death we do have is huge and just like even today to be able to bring in Kike and for defense and then him take it back to feel good about his base hit. That's great, you know, and to get, you know, T.O.F. is free Tommy office for eight innings, you know, to be able to kind of balance out the catching.
So all those things are helpful while all the while still trying to win games. But yeah, today was today was a crappy one. All right, that's a manager Dave Roberts, certainly not happy after today's loss is the Dodgers bullpen gave it up after a strong performance from image. She and six shut out innings and then a three run home run from Hoseway to Paula is first in the big leagues is first hit in the big leagues as well is spoiled thanks to the Dodgers bullpen, which gives up two runs in the eighth four in the ninth is the Dodgers get walked off by the Marlins six to four eight six six nine eight seven two five seventies are number eight six six nine eight seven two five seventies is the number will take a break. We'll come back. We'll get tomorrow your phone calls is Dodger talk continues Dodgers lose in Miami. They fall to the Marlins six to four right here on a five 70 L.A. sports live everywhere on the I heart radio. Hey, it's to ask her. This is Dodger stock here every game on AM 570 or three men on the high high radio app.
It comes a two to offer from the parents. And to Paula swings. It's a drive to right field and deep. It is back. It is in the upper deck for a home run. The first major league hit for Hoseway to Paula is a three run home run. Oh, sweet to Paula. Welcome to the big leagues young man. His first big league hit is a home run 416 feet into the second deck there at Lone Depot Park. Given the Dodgers a three nothing lead, but the Dodgers would give up the lead in the eighth and ninth a four run ninth inning at walkoff Augustine Ramirez to run home run. Wins it for the Marlins six to four Daniels. Jullars presents the home run forecast for your chance to win at $50 Daniels. Jullars gift card is at AM 570 L.A. sports.com with the keyword home run into your name and you could win Daniels. Jullars own the dream. Dax Fulton the winning relief. Tanner Scott gets the loss after a great outie from image she and which he goes six shut out innings striking out five.
We mentioned it image she and his last two starts is getting recall from triple A 11 and 2 third combined innings one run run five hits 15 strikeouts and only two walks love those numbers for image she and in his return looking like the image she and of the first few months of this season. Miguel Rojas made his final trip back what we think is his final trip back to Miami where he played for the Marlins after being for the Dodgers when he came up making his return. He says he's going to retire it into the year will find out if he officially does but this is the last time the Dodgers are there here in 2026. Let's head back out to Miami. Let's hear from Miguel Rojas post game. Let's start with how you're feeling when you kind of lands on that shoulder looks pretty painful. How is your arm feeling right now? Yeah, it's really for right now. We will wait until tomorrow morning. I will get a bunch of treatment and see what the doctors and in the medical stuff say. I'm probably going to get an injection so this is not going to be something new for me. I play through some shoulder pain before and kind of like what I felt in that place my labrum there that I have on my right shoulder.
Maybe we got a little bigger it got worse because I fell a little bit of a pop on the back of my shoulder so we will see due tomorrow and see how it feels in the next 24-48 hours but looking forward to bounce back as soon as possible. Can you say you felt a little pop like kind of popping out of its socket there or just maybe that more labrumish? I think it's more of the labrum because I didn't really slide when I when I doff her first right there. It was like I was talking on the artificial grass and kind of like I felt the right way but that's something that I know kind of like it happens to me in the past. I mean it's that time of the year when you will do whatever is possible to stay on the roster, to stand the line up and play through minor stuff. I don't think this is going to slide line before a while but at the same time I got to be responsible and see how it feels tomorrow in the next day. Do you guys get a hammer on it tomorrow? I don't think so.
It's more of the same. I feel like I already have a level third that I know is there. On my rush-old there is going to be a kind of like paint tolerance to be honest with you. I don't think there's a benefit from for my right if I can still throw and I can still hit with some paint. I don't know. I don't want to make any assumptions of what we're going to do but maybe an injection or something like that to make me feel better and to calm it down. I do not love Miguel Rojas. This guy just wants to play. This guy just wants to stay out on the field and be there for his teammates. So he'll get it evaluated again tomorrow. That happened in the late in the game. A ball up the middle went diving forward on a ball that was right between him and Muki Bet. And he went face first, chest first, diving for the ball. Both hands out like a Superman dive with the glove on his left hand. And the way his hand kind of got stuck in the dirt a little bit is right hand and his shoulder just opened up a little bit. You see it all the time almost like what happened to show Hayotani last year or two years ago against the Yankees in the World Series when he was stealing second there and hurt his shoulder.
Not to that extent certainly but you can see the similarities as far as the awkward landing and the way his shoulder position there on the field. So the state in the game says it's sore and will be reevaluated tomorrow. But you just love Miguel Rojas wanting to stay out there and wanting to stay off the injured list here at the end of the season. Is he an anaheim? Wrap things up here on this Sunday afternoon before we say goodbye. Is he? How are you? The press. I wonder does it going to wake up September 15th? I think come on guys and I listen. I know it's hard to make part of it. But you write them there was no reason using this game. No, we didn't know even when in the series. I'm just. I don't know what to think anymore. I think that I think that sort of some things up right there. You say, oh, that's sort of sums it up. Yeah, I. It's. It's ridiculous and the bullpen and tennis garden. I'm. I'm a block. You. You guys need to wake up to. So anyway, I don't know. All right, is he great to hear from me. It'll be okay.
Rock Stewart pitched well the other night. I appreciate it is on Friday night. He pitched an in and a relief in the Dodger 62 when give up a couple of hits a strikeout. But you know, this was the first runs given up by Rock Stewart in over a week. You know, this is what one, two, three, four, fifth time he's been using the last week. And the first time he's given up runs since the game against the Cardinals back on September 2nd. All right, that's going to do it for post game Dodger. Many thanks to Colin Yee the best of the best. Really appreciate him today. Appreciate all you Dodger fans for being a part of the show, whether you're listening live or your podcast in the show on the I heart radio app. We certainly appreciate that as well. Tough one for the Dodgers. They fall to the Marlin 6 to 4 game in which they led a game in which him and she had six shut out Indians. A game in which Jose's was way to Paula in a three run home run. His first hit his first home run. But it all comes in a losing effort as the Marlins come all the way back with four in the ninth and beat the Dodgers 6 to 4 Dodgers flying to Cincinnati right back at it tomorrow.
