Well, often rolling right out of the gates.
Time to reveal where the game was once or lost.
It's the turning point.
So, hey, Otoni gets on.
Freddie Freeman, I think Mookie Betts made an out there in the first inning, but Freddie Freeman did not.
Two pitches, two doubles, four RBI.
So, right out of the gate, third batter, Freddie Freeman, knocks in two on the first pitch he saw.
And then his next at bat, another double finished the day with four RBI and the two doubles.
Since him past former teammate Chipper Jones.
Yeah, you can't say Chipper Jones's name without doing it like skip carry.
Chipper Jones.
Now, 550 doubles for number five at first base for the Dodgers.
And you know, it's nice to see that he's definitely locked in both pitches.
We're not good, but good for Freddie down and a little bit in not too far down just that right in his sweet spot.
Little on the inside of the strike zone, a little down at the bottom of the strike zone.
So that upright golf swing that he has can connect and send the ball flying.
So Freddie Freeman looking good locked in everything feels good for him.
And it's funny because he's one of those guys that you can never really tell when it's going good or when it's going bad.
And they were commenting on it last night during the broadcast that they asked Freddie like how quickly can it go bad.
And he goes, one at bat, one game, you know, it doesn't take long for Freddie Freeman to turn a good thing into a bad thing.
And you know, I don't know if that's a positive way of looking at it or a negative way of looking at it.
Because you know, again, I've said this over and over for years since we started watching Freddie Freeman do his thing.
I kind of feel bad for the guy to a certain extent.
Obviously he's living a great life, but it must be a heavy burden that hangs over his head all the time in order to perform and be as good as he is.
The burden that he bears on a daily basis, well, if it's not perfect, he's going to be upset about it.
But you know, you could look at it two ways where it's, you know, you're something that he focuses on and then turns it off and moves on and doesn't necessarily let it drag him down too much.
I feel like after the game, he's a type of guy who takes it with the grain of salt if it's bad, it takes it with the greatest salt if it's good.
I don't ever feel like Freddie gets too terribly excited unless it is, you know, a walkoff home run in the world series or something like that.
So I just, I love watching that guy hit because he's such a fantastic hitter and a guy that you take for granted one of the one of the other winters interesting weird things about this team with so many stars and so many guys having the ability to do big things on a nightly and daily basis.
You really, it kind of wears you out a little bit as a fan that you can't always focus on all of them, right?
I mean, there are days when you just have to kind of ignore three hits for Will Smith.
Today, I mean, I feel bad saying and I feel it's one of those guilty pleasures that we have, you know, when you've got Andy Pahas doing what Andy Pahas does, Will Smith with three hits, two liners, three hits.
With three hits, two liners back up the middle and we'll get into the details of those two at bats because they were, they were nicest pieces of hitting from him and then an infield single.
You're just like, okay, Will Smith is hot too. Great. So is Kyle Tucker. We might not get into what Kyle Tucker did today because you just had a couple hits. So what?
So what? Jojo Tony, couple hits today. So what? We got to talk about, we got to talk about Andy freaking Pahas.
This is the locked on player of the game.
This dude on fire or as they say in a Spaniard and Fuego. I mean, it doesn't matter where it's pitched proof of that. His final at bat.
At bat down in a way, almost bouncing out of the strike zone and he flails at it, just threw the bat at it and poked it into right field for a little Texas legal.
Of course, had the three run Homer fastball up and in turned on it to left left center actually.
But what was interesting about that to me was a couple of things. The pitch prior was a sweeper down in a way.
Kind of like that one they had for the base hit in his final at bat, but he laid off of that got the fastball up and in and that is, I mean, that's not the worst spot in the world for him.
But it's not the best either with that big long swing, which granted has been shorter and has been much better of late, hence all the hits 15 and all by the way leading the major leagues. Let me say that one more time.
Andy Pahas the Dodger 7th hitter 15 hits leading the major leagues in just eight games.
Anyway, up and in is not really his hot zone because of that longer swing. He likes breaking balls middle to down. That's where he wants them. That's where he needs them.
And that's where he is at his best when he finds those, but sometimes that long swing will cost him there as well.
But the bottom line is that it seems right now that it doesn't really matter where you throw it to him. He's seeing it like a softball or a grapefruit or maybe even a volleyball and is just putting bats a ball being selectively aggressive and driving through it and hitting the ball to all fields.
But the fact that he could get through to a high and up fastball was was really nice to see. I mean, that's that's positive stuff for Andy Pahas and hopefully he can just he can keep it going.
I mean, because it is absolutely fantastic to see that this guy is just and from the 7 hole you look at this Dodger lineup and you go.
Andy Pahas leading the league is batting average is like 500. Why isn't he batting higher in the lineup? Well, you don't need him to. I mean, that's another great thing of what's about what's going on.
Kyle Tucker, movie bats who left the game early today, by the way, I don't know if you guys caught that. He had a lower back problem and anytime you're those two words together or three words lower back problem or injury to the lower back, it's never good for those of you who are over 30 like me.
Some of you probably are just barely over 30 others probably considerably over 30. You know that sometimes doing absolutely nothing can trigger a problem in that lower back literally a couple of weeks ago.
I got out of bed was pulling the comforter back over the bed and grabbing my phone to walk out of the room and my back went, I was like, I'm pulling the sheets over the bed.
Give me a freaking break. Come on now. I mean, at least it could be swinging a golf club or doing something, you know, picking something up off the ground. I get that. But pulling a sheet in the comforter back over the bed.
It goes blank. So I get it. I feel for Mookie. Hopefully it's minor. Hopefully it's not a big deal. Hopefully a little ice and heat and a couple of Advil and he'll be back in business and good to go. But that's one of those things that can linger and be aggravating.
So good to see Mickey get in there and make a fantastic play. When was that? That was the seventh or the eighth inning a screaming line drive back up the middle. He flags it from his butt throws the guy out at first base. I mean, just again, when you see Mickey do those kind of things you're not terribly surprised because he does it all the damn time.
But it's always fun to watch that. But Mookie exiting with the lower back problem, some lower back pain. We'll have to keep an eye on that. All right.
From a pitching perspective, today was great. When you look at what Tyler Glass did, we get into the details of his performance and then look at the bull pin, which was a little bit shaky in a 10-5 win. It wasn't terrible.
But there was some there was some uneasiness from as to what we saw from those guys. Again, not too terribly worried because it was low leverage. And for example, Casperius giving up some runs. The first runs that he surrendered all season, you know, it wasn't awful.
But it wasn't dominant to where you can say that's exactly what we're looking for. But all in all, when you've got your starter doing what Tyler Glass now did today, a lot less pressure on the bull pin.
We'll get into the details of that coming up here in just a little bit after this. It's the Lockdown Dodgers Postcast on the Lockdown Dodgers YouTube channel. Don't forget to check out Travis Dodgers Monday through Friday with the Lockdown Daily Dodgers podcast.

10 5 today 23 runs into games in DC getting right against a bad pitching staff which is always nice to see it's always fun and you know I'm sure that the haters will be like a big do you beat up on the net so what you know you got to score the runs when they're out there and you know they're exercising the demons of a 23 run.
Home stand six games they scored 23 runs and really struggled against the Cleveland guardians especially the well they had four in that middle game so the first in the third game but last game was terrible I mean absolutely flat they scored one run late on a Freddy Freeman home run but other than that there was basically nothing going on so the fact that they've hit the road and the bats have come to life is again absolutely fantastic.
I don't know if we've made it all the way through the lineup we did we're going to talk about glass now here in just a second but I wanted to get to max months he getting a base hit three for five no that's will Smith one for five was max will Smith today three for five and in field hit but the other two hits were just classic will Smith which was really nice to see middle away middle in so he could take it here he could take it there it doesn't matter as long as it's.
You know in the strike zone so he's not one of these guys that needs to have it in a certain place but he likes it down main street as most people do but middle in middle away hit both of them up the box okay which is also nice to see and then got a little lucky on the infield single so we'll Smith definitely striking it pure and clean right now as well a Freeland to hit Alex call to for five today we've got the start and left field so that was nice to see that he got in there got some playing time and got some it now as for.
Tyler glass now boy did he have the curve ball working and that is dominance at its finest if you ask me when that curve ball is like that mixed with that fastball when he's got that four seamer setting up the curve ball it's it's practically unhittable nine
case for glass now today leading the Dodgers this season thus far with strikeouts in a game only walked two gave up two runs on four hits over six innings 101 pitches but the curve ball was absolutely working to perfection the strikeouts went curve curve four seam curve curve and then the final one came on a fastball up and way after a couple of curve balls missed he was trying to get it on the curve ball.
Because that was his his hammer today but ended up throwing in the fastball and more than anything I thought he looked just really calm and cool and not too stressed about anything but isn't that the way Tyler glass now always looked he never looks like he's too terribly
exasperated or frustrated he's just out there doing his his job as all the Dodgers were today so two games down winning the series in DC looking for the sweep tomorrow as far as the bullpen Tanner Scott went one gave up one hit struck out one on 14 pitches but the thing I saw today that I've seen a couple of times from him that I didn't like that
could be a problem moving forward why because it was a problem for him last year getting ahead in the count two strikes it was one to on the hit that he gave up but when he gets ahead in the count with two strikes he throws fastballs up in the zone and that is just not what you need at that point or I'll broke it down brilliantly saying when you are when you throw an off speed pitch that goes out of the zone and then you throw a fastball into the game on the pitch
zone, and then you throw a fastball in the same spot, it looks great to the hitter.
It's like, yes, that's exactly what I'm looking for.
So that's the one thing that I think I'm worried about with Tanner Scott.
Throwing fastballs with too much of the plate when you're up in the count, two strikes, you
just can't do that.
So it's frustrating only from the standpoint that he was doing it last year and it was
causing him a lot of problems.
So you would like to think that he's aware of it and he's working on it and it's getting
better.
And maybe it is getting better because he did have one strike out.
So he had an O2 count, one two count later in the frame and took care of business.
So that was good.
Ben Casparius was a little rough, went one, gave up two runs on two hits, including
a home run, and then Enriquez, I don't know what to think about this guy.
Throwing it 103 miles an hour as Joe and Oral joked, this is the guy you send him to
clean up when you're up 10-4, he's throwing it 103 miles an hour with a nasty cutter.
But then it was kind of, he was kind of wild.
So I mean, I guess that's what you get when you've got 103, you're going to have to take
the good with the bad.
22 pitches is ERA at nine.
So I guess we'll ride with him, right?
Because you can throw it 103 and you just hope for the best.
Like look out, I don't know where this thing's going.
So I'd fasten my seat belt to fire you.
But when you got 103 mixed with a nasty cutter, whoo, man, that is just devastating.
So I enjoy it when he comes in the game, but I'm always a little bit worried, a little
bit of nail biting when we see Enriquez, especially in high leverage situations.
But right now as the Dodgers are the only above 500 team in the West, I'm not too worried
about any high leverage situations this early in the season as they're now six and two
and two and two on the road.
10-5 today, the wrap up tomorrow with another matinee on a getaway day before they head off
to Toronto to face the Blue Jays, a rematch of the World Series.
So tomorrow 10-35 Pacific, it'll be Roki Sasaki versus Foster Griffin and we'll be here
to break it down for you when it is over.
So thanks for watching.
Thanks for listening.
