you know, welcome. It's kind of a double treat for us because we had the Gavin Newsom interview and now we have the Gavin Newsom, let's talk about the interview. And I want to know what you think about it. The phone lines are open. Okay. We're taking your calls. If you are part of the lemon callers or at least at that tier or above, you'll get to call in. And I want to hear what you think about it. Okay. It's going to be quick questions, quick answers, our statements. If not, we're going to have to mute your cut you off just because we want to try to get as many people in as possible. We're also going to hear from someone who follows this as well. So hit the like in the thumbs up and call in. So you just heard my exclusive conversation with the governor of California, Gavin Newsom. But listen, I want to spend just the next few minutes really telling you about what I heard differently here.

Because there was something different that I saw in this interview with Gavin Newsom. He was angry and I don't mean that in a negative way. He was blunt and he clearly believes that Democrats have been playing defense while Donald Trump and Republicans have completely changed the rules of the game. So I question, so the question came that I came away with is this is Gavin Newsom simply positioning himself for 2028 or he's showing Democrats how they need to fight right now. It could be both. It could be one of them. So let me bring in everyone, meaning you guys in because it is Gavin Newsom running for president without actually saying that he's running for president or more importantly, do you like what you just saw? Because I saw something interesting happening in this interview. This wasn't the cautious, you know, Gavin Newsom, right? The cautious politician that many people play on television. He was angry, he was pissed off and he was basically saying, what the fuck are you doing? What is everybody doing? Because Trump doesn't care. Trump will insult you. He'll ridicule

you. He'll give you a nickname and you know, he gives you a nickname and then all of a sudden what? That becomes who you are. He'll talk about everything that has to deal with you. A record, your family, your appearance, whatever works for him, he will discuss it. And Gavin Newsom said he's decided that fine. Do you want to play that game? Let's play that game everyone. That's what you would like to do. Let's do it. Did you just see a different Gavin Newsom? Did you? Okay. Is this the version of Gavin Newsom or of a democratic politician or whoever is going to be out there leading the party? Is this what they have been waiting for? Newsom is essentially saying, stop playing nice and start fighting back. Is he right? That's what I would like to know from you. Let me know what you think in the comments. Is Newsom already running without officially running? Okay. I want to bring in now Mr. Rick

Wilson and to talk about these things. He is the founder of the Lincoln Project. Rick, I had the opportunity to be embedded with Gavin Newsom. He said he's out doing a get up the vote campaign. By the way, thank you so much for joining us. Of course, brother. Of course. The Rick Wilson show as we call it. Rick, that's what I mean. You're sure, right? Here on the YouTube. Rick, what do you think? He says he's trying to motivate people. He's going to South Carolina because he cares about it. He cares about what Americans are going to do in 2026 and 2028. But they need denies that he's actually doing this as a run for president. Would you think of the interview? Well, you can do well while doing good. If this sets him up in a better standing with voters around the country for 2028, well, God bless. But what he clearly is doing is using his level of exposure and his credibility as the guy who is the governor of a state that has a massive national economy that does a lot of things right. And as a guy who has been willing to go out and fight, people want

people to fight. They're so sick of the, let's read a policy paper stuff. They're so tired of the people that are like, well, my honorable colleague from across the aisle, we just differ on a few details. That ain't it, guys. He wants people to go out and focus on the big picture in the fight. And look, I don't have a horse for 2028. I like Gavin. I don't have a horse for that race at this point. There are a lot of very, very powerful people that are going to come in and blow our socks off for 28. We're going to be so happy with the quality of the field. It's going to be amazing. But for right now, it's all hands on deck. Everybody needs to be working on the 26th election. That's clearly what he's pushing on right now, which I like. Do you really think that it's going to be the candidates are going to blow our socks off? We're going to be like, whoa, wait a minute. Who do we choose? Is that, is that your belief? Listen, if you, if you end up in a race where you've got guys like John Ossoff running for president, that is a quality jump up in a lot of ways

that that that meets the moment. I think there are democratic candidates now. And some of them aren't going to be ready to run in 28, but some of them are. And I think a lot of them are meeting the moment where people are saying, holy hell, they know how to fight about talking to people where they are. They're talking about economics. They're talking about people's real issues that they actually face every single day and and and not running that sort of DNC scriptie campaign that they think, oh, everybody in Washington is talking about this. So that's what the candidate wants to talk about. Ah, that ain't it. So I think you're going to see folks like Gavin, folks like Pritzker and folks like Ossoff who were all jumping up into a new category of candidate. And again, I don't have a favorite. I haven't picked a horse. I think there are a lot of different approaches to how you win in 28, but I think all of them have to do it differently than the Democrats have been doing it for a long time. Yeah. So I want to play this because this is the fight that

is not just meant as democracy blower says, I'm not not saying that. Yeah. Go ahead. I'm sorry. I'm going to bring I want to play this and then I'm going to bring someone else in who's been traveling with them. But this is this is part of the fight that you're discussing because at first, I was like, you know, and I apologize. I said, hey, I didn't mean to step on you. I didn't know that you were going to be this passionate about it. Here it is. So not appropriate language. But what the fuck is going on in this country? And every single one of these damn people are complicit. That means you, Johnson. It means everyone around the damn table at every single one of you, Rubio, you're complicit. JD Vance complicit. All of you are complicit. The entire prime time lineup at Fox News every season. That means you all of you are complicit in this complete grift. It's an outrage. They're liquidating our inheritance. They're selling the soul of this country. They are. All of them are more accountable and some we knew who Trump was. But it's all the enablers around him. Can't make this stuff up. I mean, the guitar. I keep I would get so frustrating. People say it was a four million dollar gift. It wasn't. It's the nine hundred million

that was transferred from ICBM, missile defense and the improvements there for a ballistic and got missiles. It was sent over to retrofit the plane that he's taking with them. All the terror policy and lowering the terrorists to get the golf courses. You saw the 15 investments that Eric and Don Jr. have where they've received $6.3 billion in federal contracts, 3.2. They've already received 3.1 of that. They're promised the fact that we have state and crony capitalism where we have 10% of or close to 10% of Intel. I were taking over MP materials to many 25% compensation for chips to be sold, getting chips to be sold to the UAE because he got money from the government in terms of world liberty financial holy shit. Listen, when you're going to make a case, make the damn case. He went out there laid out an indictment of just that. And that and by the way, everybody should be doing that who's campaigning this year, whether

you're running for office or supporting people running for office, making the case about how the corruption that is in Washington today is causing the economic crisis that's fucking so many Americans, everybody's got to make that case. And that will be the centerpiece argument of 28 is to say, no, we cannot like advance or a rubio or a Tucker or a, you know, Josh Hawley or whoever Ted Cruz, you know, God forbid. That argument's going to have to be made now, not just this year, but for two more years as we hold these people accountable. And again, it is a powerful argument for voters this year, not just for Democrats, but for independent voters who have broken away from the GOP in part because of this corruption and about and a, and a, about 20% of Republicans were like, done with the being part of a crime family. I want you to stand by Rick want to bring someone else in here. Isaiah Martin, thank you. Isaiah, thank you for jumping on with us. Podcast or thought leader extraordinaire. You also, you in South Carolina with Gavin Newsom as well,

right? We are there around the same time. I'm going to play, are you there? Are you muted? Can we hear you? Let's see. Are we there? Can we hear you? Yes, no, if not, we can't hear you. You can up to pop off. How about that? Can you hear me? Oh, now we got it. All right. Listen, I want to play this. Alibaba Dulse at Toans. Would you say Alabama? Yes. No, is that what you said? Yeah, I said, I was in Alabama with you in Alabama. Okay. All right. Now I was in South Carolina. I want to play. This is you. Part of you on the road with him in Alabama. Do we have that Andy? Pulled up to Alabama with Governor Gavin Newsom to go see the effects of decades of conservative policies. He did a lot of work to create five additional blue leading seats in Congress in response to the Jaira Mandarin push by Donald Trump. Now you and I both know that getting power and doing nothing with it is absolutely pointless. So the question is, what gets done? I asked the governor about this and we had a good conversation. I want you to hear it.

You know, if I needed another reason why I'm proud of the work that we all did together with Prop 50 boy coming here, just you absorb it. What are some real things that you want to see done with the House majority coming up? To deliver on the crisis of our time and that's affordability. Being anti-Trump is not a governing strategy. Raise a minimum wage from 725, which it is here, 1740 in my state, raise that in the 20 states that don't have it. Lower the cost of childcare. So he's saying the things that people, you know, everybody's tackling, you know, a lot of these social issues that people, for the culture wars that people are fighting over. He's actually out there saying what people really want to hear. I don't know if this means that he's going to run or not. I would think that he is if he's doing this. What was your interpretation of this and your experience? Yeah, I mean, I think exactly that. I mean, I was really interested with Governor Nusson, particularly because of his work with Prop 50. I thought that it was really important to

see Blue Cascow and fight back. So he was always someone that interested me. So I wanted to go down to the South, particularly here and see how he interacted with voters. But then also, here what he was talking about before an affirmative vision for the future. I know a lot of times, you know, we can always talk about how much we hate Donald Trump and all the stupid policies, these brainless Republicans are pushing. But, you know, that only gets us so far. We've got to be talking about real structural change about how we're going to fix this economy and how we're going to move things forward. I was really happy that Governor Nusson had some pretty strong ideas about how we can move forward. Yeah. Look, I got to tell you, I got to be honest with you, Rick and Isaiah. You know, people talking about Gavin Nusson being too slick or whatever not relatable. I have to say in person, at least recently, outside of Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, he's the best retail politician that I have seen. He has the gift. He has the gift. He's pretty solid. Yeah. Can I ask Isaiah quickly? So, is it, don't you find the interesting democratic candidates who are

running for president? Don't start going to, first off, going to Alabama to campaign in African-American communities for Doug Jones. And that sort of stuff. It's interesting that he's not, like, directly to Iowa, New Hampshire, doing the sort of South Carolina is a early state now for Democrats. But I just thought that was really interesting. He went to Alabama because that is a state that is a tough, tough sled for democratic candidates nationally. But, and as consider a very, very red state, I just thought that was a really interesting decision on his part. Did you get any insight when you were talking to him? If I can jump in real quick before Isaiah jumps in and I'll give him the floor, I, I think you'd be surprised by Rick. Look, black people love Gavin Nusson. I just have to say that black women love Gavin Nusson. And I think he's smart. He understands that black people are watching black women. They're the backbone of the democratic party. And I think that he's very, it was a very smart move on his part. Go ahead. Isaiah, you can. Yeah, I kind of read the same thing as well. You know, Gavin is very comfortable with voters, particularly in the South, particularly

black voters. And that's really important. You know, with South Carolina being I've really the first state for primaries. It's going to be really essential that the person can be able to go forward and unite people. And I think ultimately what's going to be important is that our democratic coalition is very broad. And you've got to go to talk to different folks all across the electorate. And I was really excited that, you know, while I haven't picked a horse in 2028, you know, he was comfortable at HBCU. He was comfortable going and talking to people at restaurants. He was comfortable talking to people just walking down the street. It was really kind of interesting to watch. And you know, we all have seen, you know, Gavin Nusson talk particularly, you know, how much, you know, this Trump Republicans bullshit, it's absolutely insane. But to see him talk about, yes, we want to fight Trump and improve the economy. Yes, we want to go and lower health care costs. Yes, we want to make expand on the Affordable Care Act hearing him in that format. I thought it was really refreshing to see. And I really appreciate it there. You know, what I have to say to

both of you since we're both as, you know, in this, in the streaming part of the medium right now, the medium, this part of the media medium, if that makes sense, is that he really respects independent journalists and independent media. He understands the power of independent journalism and and social media. Look, of course, he'll appear on a Fox News or CNN or an MS now. But he understands, as I spoke to him and his people, that the real conversations, according to them, not just me, are happening here. This is where the movement is. This is where he can pick up a new audience rather than going and preaching to the chorus. The degree of disagree. I mean, I think absolutely because, you know, I think Don, you've seen this quite a bit that, you know, a lot of folks just aren't really comfortable in the independent space. You know, they're so used to, you know, just simply going to studio and all that. But it's a different game. And being able to go forward and to talk to people who have really close connections with their audiences, as well as be able

to get clips that they can put on their own social media to reach even more people. It's a really important skill that I think the nominee in 2028 is going to have to have. Because the end of the day, the Republicans have just such a very large apparatus that they use to go and communicate to their base consistently, to get out voters. We want to try to build something stronger than what they have. And to be able to be comfortable to go talk to creators across the Democratic coalition, as well as the independent coalition, it's going to be really important. You know, the other thing that I saw when, you know, we were at, you know, the university was that not everybody in the room was just like super hardcore Democrats. A lot of the folks were, you know, independent folks that, you know, had been, you know, honestly turned off by a lot of the political process. Gavin was able to speak to them in a way that, you know, I hadn't really seen very often for Democratic electives. And I think it's really important to move forward that we get some eye that can have that skill set. You know, as I think about what you said was so

important, it's like, if they're comfortable, if they're not comfortable going to independent media spaces in 28, I think it's a huge disadvantage. If they're not ready to go and have conversations, because as you said, don't, the connection to the audience is much tighter in this space where we're accountable and transparent and authentic with people as much as we can possibly be. And, and, you know, God knows, Republican billionaires have bought out every damn piece of other media that's out there right now to a large degree. And, and so I think, I think you're right. I think it's going to be a really important qualifier for 28 for these guys. As, as we say, bless his heart, meaning Donald Trump, if you're from the South, you know what I mean. He did figure out that in order to animate, energize, and to uncover a new part of the electorate, Donald Trump had to go into spaces that many people did not had not gone into before. I mean, Barack Obama mined it well back when he ran, but this is a whole other show. And I think, again,

Gavin Newsom and his folks are keenly aware of what helped to get people like Mamdani elected. Yeah. Right? Who I'm not sure. I haven't, look, I have not seen Mamdani in action personally as a retail politician. I would imagine that he's pretty good, but I knew, I do know that he's damn good on social media. And I think that that really helped him with younger people. If you look at the actual number percentage wise of New Yorkers that went out, that went to vote for him, it wasn't a very big percentage, but he did animate the people that he needed to animate in order to win. And I think Gavin Newsom knows that. So I think not only is Gavin Newsom an amazing retail politician, whatever you think about his policies, right? That's a whole different thing. An amazing retail politician where when he shows up, people respond, but also he's got a good social media game. Absolutely. He's got, right? He's got a good social media game that that people are attracted to. And you're going to have to have both. Now, I'm not calling out any names for anyone. I'm not

calling anybody out. There are people in this game now who are very good at, you know, everything being curated and taping and the message is great or whatever, but they don't have that risk when they get out in front of people that people were loving. I got to say before I, I'm going to let you guys have the floor. When I was in 2024, I took my social media team, which was part of a young, you know, social media team. They're great kids, 20 something millennials and Jin Zs or whatever. And I said, after that, we were driving home. We took a cross country toward Chicago and I said, who did you like the best? Who had the most risk? What to a person? They all said Gavin Newsom. They all said Gavin Newsom. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I think that's right. I mean, because ultimately, you've got to be able to, I just think it's essential to have that star power as well, that ability to be able to communicate. You know, I think for a really long time, folks inside

of the Democratic tent have just kind of looked at people by saying, oh, this is their resume. This is the things that they've done and say that, hey, basically, this is what the electorate is going to demand. And I don't think that's right. I think it's really more of a communication thing. I think we've got to be able to communicate and then also show a willingness to deliver because, you know, I was really, the reason why people going back to Gavin talking about the policies affirmatively is because people are not going to tolerate us getting in in 2028 and not doing anything with our mandate. We will get crushed in the midterms. We will get crushed in 2032 if we go in there and we don't deliver. So I think people are also looking for Democratic candidates to be able to say, this is what I'm going to do on day one. If that doesn't work, this is what else I'm going to do. And be able to come out with a laundry list of things and be able to communicate that in a attractive way that reaches people is really, I think, going to be at the top of list of things we do. I have a question for you because, you know, having said that when you said, you've got a

got a good communication game. I hear people all the time now, especially in the Democratic side, saying, we need, we need experience. We need experience. We need people with experience. People with not with no experience. That's what got us into this, this issue that we announced. No, people on the Republican side in the MAGA movement without experience. That's why we're in this moment now. Not necessarily Democrats. So I am not necessarily buying the experience, bullshit. I really am not. I think for me, I don't care. I want someone who can win and get rid of MAGA. I don't care if they, you know, I don't care about their level of education. I don't care. I want someone who can help get rid of MAGA if they have never been a mayor or an alderman or whatever it is and elected official. If they can win. Listen, if somebody, if somebody working at a Chipotle could do all those things, I vote for the guy from the Chipotle, right? Yeah. The same. You look at the, at the 2016 experience and Hillary Clinton had the perfect political resume.

Perfect. Everyone was like, he's so accomplished. She knows how to do stuff. She can, she knows all these policy positions. She's brilliant. And none of it was wrong. None of it was a lie. But it wasn't enough. We are not in the era where politicians get to be just policy nerds anymore. They have to have charisma. They have to have presence. They have to be authentic. And you know, there's a thing in the military that say you got to do three things in combat. Move, shoot and communicate. You got to do one of those things at all at all times. I need somebody who can move, shoot and communicate politically. And, and, and, and again, I think there are democratic candidates who are emerging. And they're, they're getting it after so long that nobody's going to read your 750 page policy paper on climate change. They will, they will, if you connect what's doing going on with climate to their job, their life, their family, their kids, listen to you. They're not going to go, they're not, they're not, they're not looking for the things that come out of some focus group that

the D trip puts on, the DNC puts on, they're sands off all the edges to everything. Like, well, no, no, we don't want to do Medicare for all. We want to do a modified healthcare exclusion. But nobody listens to that shit. No, they're eyes please. Oh, he got to be real. Speaking, speak, you know, want to build Clinton speech writers years ago named David Cousin wrote a little book called Speaking American. Okay. And he told Democrats, stop fucking speaking in words of 57 syllables, go in and say, I will fix this problem solution. Then it's not that fucking hard. It's not that hard, Bill the wall. It's not that hard. You know what I'm saying? Hey, let's go back again. Barago bomb is one word policy position was hope. Hope. Well, I mean, I disagree with that because, you know, I think that, you know, actually, I went to go look at matter fact, actually, it's hilarious that we bring this up. I an old rally that Obama did pack in Alabama. And this

was, I think, around maybe early 2008 or so. And he said, I'm going to go pass a healthcare plan that doesn't deny you coverage of you have preexisting conditions and says that we're not going to throw you off your parents and she was amazed because literally every policy thing that he said inside that he did. He did. Yeah. And so I think that, but the problem, Isaiah, is that most democratic candidates go, well, on page 47 of the pindex to this right, 497 page healthcare plan, you'll read how we're going to change the insurance modification base system. And it just doesn't, I mean, but that that took to your point, those are both of your points, you have to be able to speak nerd or walk in a way that is relatable. And I think Gavin can do that. Get elected. Then do that. Right. Yeah. I think Gavin Newsom can do that. I think that Barack Obama can do that. And I think Bill Clinton can do that. There were there are brilliant people who can speak American. Right. And they can do and Mamdani, they can do that. They can speak American and they can do walk at

the same time. The best person know out of all of them, even Barack Obama, I think that spoke a bit better than anyone was Bill Clinton. That's right. When Bill Clinton, but he would just say, you know what, you know, it's just, you know, what it is. 1.2. 1 plus two is two. It's a rhythm of take in the need by this living now. Everybody would go, yes. He's brilliant at it. So I think he would do the, you know, I don't know why you're so. I can't from private. I wasn't raised rich. I was, you know, born behind the. I mean, being able to be authentic with people and to communicate where they are. That's the, that's the gut of all this. It's where they are. Yeah. So let me, let me, let me ask you this. I got a question for both of you guys. Okay. And then I'm going to get some other breaking news in here. I want to get, I want you guys to respond to it. So look, are we genuinely watching the new democratic strategy here and Gavin Newsom is the first to roll

it out. Therefore getting ahead of everyone. Are we watching one very ambitious guy, one very ambitious politician figure out how to, how to make himself the, the main character? Or is it, it could be both both? Yeah. I mean, I think it's both. I mean, look, I mean, I think that some people have figured out how to do it. You know, I think, like I said, mom Donnie, I think all soft is doing a really solid job at it. You know, President Obama was really good at it, Bill Clinton. I mean, there's been people, I think that have come by. I think that Gavin just kind of has realized that he can communicate policy by attacking Republicans. And it's very effective by going out and being as aggressive as it is. It makes people read what Elsie's saying, which is in a form of division. So, I think he is doing something that is his own path. But I think it's working and it's working pretty well. Yeah, I think it's working pretty well. Hang on, I am, I am texting someone to try

to figure out if this is actually real what I am reading here. So, if you guys, Andy, I don't know if you have the breaking news. That's a peril of our time, Stan. I don't know if we have it. I'm going to, I'm going to, let's see if I have it here. Let me put it here. There we go. One second. I want to put this up in and I'm going to get your response here because I haven't even had a chance to read it. I just got it in the chat. So, breaking news, speaking of California, someone who is innovative and is not a fan of Donald Trump, this is just in. Again, this is according to the New York Post. Exclusive, according to the New York Post, Jimmy Kimmel's late night show is expected to come to an end in 2027. We hear with sources telling page six that next season of the ABC's late night show, Jimmy Kimmel's live will be its last. His contract is not getting extended. A source familiar with the situation explained. Now, again, that's according to the New York Post. I have reached out to my

source. I'll see what happens. We will see, but anyways. Wow. You know, they wonder why people are going to independent media now. You know what? Jimmy, take your staff, build a fucking YouTube channel and crush it. Because, you know, yeah. Well, you know, what I think is really interesting about this, this is a perfect example of why we need aggressive Democrats and office. I think that upon taking the House majority, the House oversight committee should subpoena the Trump administration for every single document related to this issue to make sure and understand that these people it very much looks like that they're using government resources, suppressor, folks like ABCD and CBS and everybody else across the media sphere. And I think that needs to be exposed. So, I think on day one, I don't think that we should be doing this thing, but we're waiting six months, you know, 10 months to unveil something on day one, we need to subpoena these people to go get these documents. Because absolutely. There needs to be a waterfall of subpoenas to the

branding cars and to the Steve on day one and on day one, and Pete hex as a day one, they need to get papered so hard they're going to have to hire lawyers for their freaking lawyers. Like, like, and you know what, I also got to say, there can't be any of this like, oh, we're going to start on the first day and we're going to see if we can work across the aisle. Right, my honor. I'm going to try to count on January 6. Exactly. No, like on day one, you see, hi, I'm going, I'm sworn into the United States Congress. Okay, boom, here's your subpoenas. I work coming. Yeah, yeah, you can't be any of that bullshit. Yeah, Mr. Blanche, you were served. Yeah. I will look, you guys can take it for what it's worth and tell me if you can read between the lines. But I said, is this true? And they said, everything page six prints is true. And then they just said, love you, but I don't respond to these things. You can figure it out.

If you would like to, I think you can figure out. Wow. I'm talking about who I'm talking about. Has responded. But I think I figured that out. I think you figured it out. Yeah. So, man, I hope it's not true because the one show that I really like, look, I like Fallon, I like whatever, but I really love Kimmel. I really, I think he is not only he bowled and smart and, you know, out in front and unafraid. He's just a good guy. He's just like the nicest person ever want to mean. And this is not, this is not an act for him. Not an act. Right, right, right, right. Yeah, he's a real deal. So, but so have they completely gotten or they are they completely getting rid of all of the voices that are, you know, who don't have nice things to say about Donald Trump because they're moving off of that word TV, which is where Donald Trump, what he cares about. Right. But that's because Donald

Trump is a man who's lives in the 1970s in his head. Again, like I said, Kimmel will have a platform anywhere. He's just like Colbert will have a platform anywhere he decides to go in the in the independent space. John, John, you you are living proof here, brother. This, this shit that they're doing, it's it's going to hasten their own downfall in my opinion because, you know, the world where where three television networks and two newspapers decided how the country was going to behave and live is dead and gone. Yeah. But so now is the thing where it's just major cable networks are going to decide other country thinks and lives and looks at news. I think they're they're causing a diaspora into independent media from so many different areas and spaces that they're going to regret doing this because they can't control it all. Yeah. Right. I see. No, I never said agree. I mean, I think that, you know, folks that

that are going to be losing as a result of the Trump regime are just going to go and continue to do what they do on the independent side. I mean, you know, Trump thinks that he can silence people, but he can't. And, you know, I think that everybody knows exactly where this is going to go. I think Kimmel will land on his feet and he's going to keep on putting out good content. Yeah. And I think I don't know if Kimmel is back tonight. If this is the first night of the fall season after the summer vacation, but if it is and whatever it is, I think everybody should tune in, give him some good ratings. Oh, yeah. And because he's a good guy. And you got you're a good guys as well. Nice work out there, Isaiah on the campaign. I'm sure I'll see you around. I am. Look, man, we're getting our flowers in the independence space. People are calling us saying, can you come cover some like, wait a minute. Someone asked me, someone asked me, let me tell you this, someone asked me if I was bringing a production truck. I said, if I production truck, you mean an Uber? Yes. Or maybe I'll rent an SUV from the airport, but no production trucks.

We did this thing over and one in a few weeks ago. People are like, how much room does your team need for their cameras? I'm like, they're iPods. They're okay. They're iPhones. I'm fine. We're fine. We're fine. Are those still around? He's a boomer. Isaiah, he's a boomer. Thank you guys. Isaiah, be well, you know what? You texted me, and I lost it for some reason. Can you text me so that I have your info? Make sure I have your info. I don't have to go through your people or through other channels in order to get you. No, I got you. I always hit Rick up. He knows when I say, what do you think of such and such, he knows the next text is, and can you come on to talk about it? He already knows. Thank you guys. Be well. I appreciate you. Go check out both of their shows. Isaiah are Martin and then also Mr. Rick Wilson. So there you go. So look, it's not just Gavin Newsom that we're going to be doing this with. We're going to try to do it with everyone. Look at Westmore. Is out there. We'll do it with him. And Pete Buttigieg is out there. We'll do it with him.

Is Kamala Harris is out there. We'll do it with her. Whoever is out. If John Ossof is out there, we'll go around with them and want to hear from them as well. So this is where we are starting. This is a new fall leading into the midterms Don Lemon Show and Don Lemon channel and Don Lemon Network. And by the way, we are expanding our own channel is starting, our own fast channel. So we go there from Fort Lauderdale to Orlando, then Charlotte, and then Jacksonville, St. Petersburg, where's that Columbus? Cincinnati, Atlanta. I've been everywhere, man. I'm like, what is it, John Dean? And we're going to Ohio and we're going to Iowa. Woo! That's if you're old enough to remember. Some people like what the hell is he talking about? Hands up, show of hands, put some lemons in the chat if you know what I'm talking about. It's an old school reference, okay? Oh, phone calls.

Oh, we got some folks in the line. Andy, I totally forgot. Let's take a caller too. Who do we have? May money. May money. May, you got to quick when we almost forgot about you. Hey, yes, I thought I was about to hang out. I was like, okay, yes, I'll talk to them another time. What's going on? I guess I was going on. Hey, everybody. I'll be very quick because I know you're trying to get out of here because you forgot about us. I agree with you at the beginning of the interview, like when I watched throughout it. It felt very different. The vibes, the felt very different from what I usually see from Gavin Newsom, who happens to be my governor if you guys don't know. I'm in California. I don't know. It just felt like the vibes were different. He's kind of starting to adapt in I think which is a good way. I think it's a good idea. He can do both. He hasn't really, I mean, everybody thinks and assumes he's going to run for president. Let's get to November first. Let's let's hone in and try to get as much power as we can.

November is going to be really crazy. We only got a few more months to get to that point, but the election and the way that they're just trying to make it so hard for everybody to get their votes out and just playing games. It's going to be a doozy. So hone in down and keep in our heads down and getting the job done is so important right now. So I think you may do what you got to do to get it done. Yeah. Thank you, May we'll see you on the legend show. I'll see you in my governor more than than we do. Okay. I'll see you guys. Thank you. Thank you. Warren. Warren wants to talk more failed. He wants to talk to have a new some high Warren. Warren. Andy did Warren go away. Is he there? I don't know. He should be there. All right. Well, if it's Warren is not there, we'll go to Jacob from Birmingham. I Jacob, are you there? Hey, Don, can you hear me? Yeah. All right. Thanks for thanks for letting me on. Big fan, longtime color. First time listener.

One the one big get in with what you guys were talking about with messaging real quick. I completely agree. I've been saying this for several years now. Um, message middle policy left. What I mean by that is, for instance, stop calling yourself a democratic socialist that works in Oregon, that works in California, so on and so forth. Start calling yourself a patriotic capitalist. That way the knuckle draggers are like, oh, yeah, I like patriotic capitalism stuff like that. Stop explaining everything. Stop. I'm going to make your food cheaper. That's it. Exactly. That's it. That's all I want. I'm going to make your housing affordable. Right? Correct. Correct. Yes. Exactly. I'm really going to get to the college. Thank you very much. I agree. My mother-in-law, who's a very astute woman, said the same thing, said that she believes that Democrats need to own the messaging around that and

to set something very similar to what Jacob just said. Did Warren grow ways? Is he so gone? Is he so gone? He's gone. He's gone. What about Hannah? Is Hannah there? Hannah is here. Hi, Hannah. Yes. Hi. Good evening. Good evening to you. How are you guys doing? Hey, I'm great. What you got for us? Um, I was calling in South Florida, so I'm looking forward to seeing you guys coming up next week. But I wanted to know just in your opinion, say, hypothetically, if he was to run Gavin Newsom, so to speak, if who you think would be the best running mate, the most effective person to kind of have like a power couple dynamic. Do you mean besides Gavin Newsom and Don Lemon? Yeah. Yeah, Don. What about you, and? I don't know. I think that he did run. Look, I don't want to say that you have to be the great power couple, but I know, right? We would,

we would. Can you imagine that that may be run as president and vice president, except maybe he would be at the top of the ticket, but certainly he'd be a great president or a great first gentleman. But I think, you know, I hate it when people say, oh, it's got to be a straight white man, or it can't be a woman or it can't be a gay person or it can't look, I live in reality. I understand what people are saying, but I always say that you never know and don't count anybody out. That's what I always say is that look, if Democrats do take back the house and it looks like they could take back the Senate in 2026, then who knows? I think the sky is the limit for for Democrats. So look, I think with Gavin Newsom, it could be a Westmore, it could be Gavin and and and Osop. It could be I'm seriously, it could be Gavin and lemon. It could be our Newsom and lemon. It could be Newsom and except Kamal Harris, but who would be at the top of the ticket? I think some people that might say we need a co presidency. I know that that probably couldn't

happen under the Constitution, but who knows? I think it could be anyone and I don't even know, maybe the person hasn't even emerged yet. So who would, who would the dream ticket be? I think whoever's capable of winning. If it's Gavin Newsom and the guy who delivers my pizza, I'm in for it. I'm down for it. Okay, as you've got it could be a chipotle worker, but I think they have set the bar so low that it gives us the chance to cut the bar so high. So yeah, thank you. You mean the Republican's not your pool? Yeah, thank you. Thank you very much. I appreciate it. I'm already thank you, Hannah. Hi, Maureen, what's up? Hi, hi, John. How are you? I'm doing well. How you doing? I'm good, vice president. I'm a telephoto girl, you know, I'm in San Francisco Bay Area and I've known Newsom for a long time. I also knew him as the mayor of San Francisco and as our governor.

And he's always been great. We're going to miss him as our governor. And that's really all I have to say, sir. So you would vote for him as president? Do you sure? Yes, I would vote for him as president. Yeah. All right. Well, thank you, Maureen. Maureen, thank you. I'll see you on the legend show later in the week. And I will say this. Someone said Newsom, bye bye. Someone did say Newsom and AOC. So hey, look, I'm down for that too. Let's try something new. So anyway, is that it? Are we? Is that all the callers we got? Yep, that's all Jacob. Jacob Bay, no, it wasn't Jacob Warren bailed on us, but that's okay. Warren, we won't hold it against you. Be informed without being inundated until I see you. Thank you.
