Because if he only ever wrote in the moment inspiration struck, that's the exact lack of proactivity he's learned to move past. So he's intentional throughout his week — checking whether he's done enough creative work, and carving out focused time if he hasn't. Whether or not inspiration shows up is almost secondary, because in that time he's going to do something. Put a little work in, consistently, and it adds up.
