They got quite a gauntlet ahead in their schedule and they'll have to keep...
Okay, the funds over.
They've done the dirty work of the radio business.
Anybody messes this thing up for me tonight is true.
Engineering, board operating, and producing.
Not only are you fired, your life is over.
And now, they have their microphone.
What could go wrong?
Nobody messes up.
Let's stand me.
Don't mess up.
Adam Copeland.
You want some sort of like hard hitting Bob Lee Journalism?
He came to the wrong place.
Derek, pop up.
Oh, boy.
Okay.
It's getting hot, isn't it?
That's even worse.
How are we feeling?
It's getting hot, boy.
And Tim Webb.
Man, Keeney.
Yes, or no?
No, it's the nine.
You know, just so it's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it.
Ridiculous.
Completely ridiculous.
Welcome to dirty work.
K-N-B-R-1045-N-680.
V-Sports leader.
It's dirty work on a surge day.
Yeah, afternoon, Adam Copeland D-Pop.
Tim Webb, soon as Walt gets his ass out of the way.
Tim can get a...
He can get in the chair.
He can give me the man in the chair.
Yeah.
Did you miss saying that to Walt every day?
No, I kind of forgot about it.
Yeah.
I think it was the first time that I saw it.
We can send it.
And I had some vitriol.
Is it the first time he's been there when we started the show?
I think he's been getting his ass out of the way.
He's getting out here pretty quick with these days.
Yeah.
He's got a baby to get to.
He's got a babe to feed.
Yeah.
Anyway, we got a full show for you today.
We do.
By the way, tomorrow at Harmonic Brewing in Thrive City,
just outside of Chase Center for the...
The Lonely Dubs.
Yeah.
Not great right now.
It's hard to get up for the dubs.
Yeah.
We'll talk about it tomorrow.
Give me a reason to get up for this game.
I'm going to see some Anthony Edwards.
Yeah, that's a reason to bring your ass and watching Anthony Edwards
and Rudy Gobert.
But as far as the Warriors, I mean, we'll see when Steph comes back.
And I don't even know if it makes sense for Steph to come back at this point.
But he will.
And we'll see where the season goes from there.
But it's really about the offseason and what they can build upon.
We got a, as I said, a full show for you today,
250 Ron Wotus can enjoy this.
Oh, Wotus.
Is he the bench coach?
Yes.
Is that his role for the...
I believe so.
But he's...
Yeah.
Man, he's...
He's helping out Team Italy and good win last night.
I help it out.
He's bench coaching for Team Italy.
Yeah.
He's getting guys all beamed up as a...
Can he pass continuous?
Yeah.
What do you have three bombs yesterday?
Three bombs last night.
You said you're welcome America.
Which is a great line.
I love that.
So Team USA is through.
Mark Dorosa says a new lease on life.
Is what Team USA has.
By the way, have you noticed...
And this is starting to make some rounds on social media.
We'll talk to Ron Wotus at 250 Friend of the Show.
Joseph Wheat, by the way, of the...
Is it Dallas Morning News?
Dallas Morning News.
Yes.
Dallas Morning News covers the Cowboys.
We'll talk to him about...
About OSA.
OSA Diggy Zua.
There you go.
I was gonna say it, but you beat me to it.
OSA Diggy Zua.
Just a second above you.
Yeah.
You beat me right to it.
Anyway, he'll join us.
We actually met him during Super Bowl Week.
Yeah.
We were on the bus.
We were on the bus over to the media party.
I don't know that he's a local guy.
He's a barrier guy.
He's from the Bay Area.
And he was sitting behind us on the shuttle where we were going to the media party.
He's a fan of the show.
The first nights of...
Yeah.
One of the first nights of Super Bowl, Media Week.
And he was behind us on the shuttle.
And I feel like 20 minutes.
He was like, wait.
Are you guys...
I've been listening to you guys.
You guys are KNBR, right?
Yeah.
He's from the Bay.
So he was back listening to us.
He knew us.
And he liked my riff on Ray Rato asking if he got paid in sweaters to make that appearance
on the documentary on EMC.
That's right.
Yeah.
We'll get the low down on Osa Digi-Zooa.
And since then, big time return for the 49ers today.
Yeah.
Drake Greenwell.
I was going to surprise they did that, honestly.
And Matt May Uncle tweeted about it this morning or last night saying, maybe yesterday
after he was released, officially by Denver.
And he said, I wonder if the Niners and I have interest.
That said, do you have D-Winter's who they like, who's due a contract after an extra
year?
Also, Tate and Bethune.
It was okay last year.
What I would say was that D-Winter's played every...
He started every game last year.
Right.
So, I mean, there was a lot on him without Fred Warner, I think they're really happy with
what they saw.
And I think with Fred Warner, D-Winter's looks even better because he did have to shoulder
a lot.
And then he had Tate and Bethune come in.
By the way, they do.
I saw they brought back Garrett Wallo.
Yeah.
Garrett Wallo?
He used to get used to Wallo again.
He wasn't bad in that playoff game against Philly and so was Eric Kendrick's.
He's one of a special teamer anyway.
Yeah.
He played at necessity.
And also, you know, Nick Martin didn't play it all last year.
So they got some death in linebacker now.
Yeah.
Also Mike Evans introduced today with the 49ers, the officially son, we'll talk more about
that and hear from him later.
And then the other news, and we'll get into this in a few minutes, Bryce Huff.
Like within five minutes of the Bryce Huff and very green law.
What came first, the Huff or the green law?
I think the green law and then a little bit of Huff.
Yeah.
Bryce Huff announced he's retiring from the NFL, 27 years old, to go start a battery company.
A battery company.
Yeah.
It's saving people's lives, batteries.
He said that.
I mean, good for everything.
Everything needs batteries.
It does.
Good for him.
Or some sort of power.
Only only 27 years old and he figured out in life that this is not his calling.
I'm going to disappoint him because when he wanted to, he's got a side set on something
else.
Yeah.
Maybe I think that he probably didn't feel fulfilled with feeling of being then.
Yeah.
I mean, he was a healthy scratch for that Super Bowl.
That's tough.
And then he got a new, new life with Robert Salah, his old coach with the 49ers last
year and really didn't make an impact.
So.
Oh.
Metallica's battery.
Nice.
Yeah.
But yeah.
I got you.
Yeah.
It's got to get some more.
I mean, you know, I could have got energized with commercial.
No, either way.
I don't think anything else would be going down with the cup.
This is a nod to Rod Brooks.
Not to rod.
But yeah.
We'll see what happens.
I mean, we know what happens with Bryce Huff, but I don't think he was going to be back.
I think that maybe the night is going to move off of him, but yeah, either way, he's
retiring.
Anyway, Bryce Huff is retiring.
We'll talk more about the OCEA Diggy Zua trade with Dallas with Joseph Hoyt at 350.
Again, Ron Votus at 250, but I was going to say is on social media, I've seen this kind
of making the rounds team USA, like it does feel like because you know how there's, there's
the unwritten rules thing in baseball where it's how you behave as a player and how you
carry yourself.
And I know that like the whole thing where baseball become no fun because there's a,
there's a strict even bum guard or barking at guys and whatnot.
Yeah.
But yeah, some of that stuff, but then it became to a point where it's like bum guard
is policing the game and that's something that I think can and should happen within
certain games.
But it got to a point and it gets to a point where you're like, dude, just let him play
it.
Yeah.
It's fun for us.
The game can evolve into an era where you don't have to be the buttoned up dudes, you
know, Jim button and ball four changed how we looked at professional baseball players when
he sort of peeled back and the curtain on what they did and how Mickey Mantle lived and
what they did on the road that they were, they were playboy party boy partyers playing
ball every day.
It was, it was different.
I mean, like, and people thought they were the, you know, buttoned up put together baseball
guys.
It's at the time.
I'm not saying that is what it is now.
I'm just in the way the game is played and perceived.
It seems to me like a lot of the other countries were seeing what players in other countries
behavior is like freedom wise when they have success in games relative to, to me I say
it's like buttoned up.
Don't get me wrong.
But it feels like it's all a business trip.
I'm watching like the Dominican Republic and they're a party when they play like it's
a blast.
But I mean, the players are having to get some like, I know, it's kind of like this
is a business trip and we're representing our country and if we don't win, there's
a lot more pressure.
But everybody else like this is their stage like that's what I mean, it's like that's
what I was asking yesterday.
Hey, man, we're tight as Americans.
Who does it mean?
Yeah.
Who does it mean more to?
That's what I mean.
It's like, you have any past container with a, with a espresso machine in the dugout
dude for team Italy.
Yeah.
After the game, he said, I'm all beamed up.
I'm super confident.
I was like, they're just having fun.
But I mean, the way they're partying, I know they, that every team now does their
little dugout celebration, they've got props and the hats and the big stuff, they, you
know, they're trying to hand them in Kansas City when they hit a home run.
They come through the tunnel.
Yeah.
Everybody does that now.
Every team.
I think that's great.
But I also like the unique nature of how teams have a different identity with how they've
handled success throughout the tournament.
Yeah.
I think there's, I think there's more.
I guess what I'm saying is there's more, it's seemingly there's more personality with
these other teams.
You're saying that team USA just kind of stiff and bland and a little bit.
Yeah.
That's been that what I'm saying is I didn't really notice it.
What were you kind of expecting?
Well, I didn't really notice that or think about it until I saw people commenting on it
and showing different videos of how like people are, are, are saying that the US is handling
business the right way and they're not, they're not pimping home runs and they're running
the bay.
I'm like, yeah.
But some of that's fun.
Of course.
I never subscribe to the idea that you, that you have to go through, you have to go through
with the Ember and Rules of Baseball.
Like I never liked that.
I know that Kapler got a lot of crap a couple of years ago from being like, we don't,
we don't do the Ember and Rules of Baseball stuff.
We kind of talk a lot about the Ember and Rules of Life though on the show.
Yeah.
It's sort of the side.
Well, yeah.
Well, yeah.
Like there's, there's moral codes and we go against that then what are you?
Man's got to have a code.
Exactly.
Yeah.
But in baseball, yes, you have to have a code.
But at the same time, like pimping a home run is not the end of the world, people.
I never liked to win.
Bumgarner did that crap.
Honestly.
Yeah.
Cause it's also like, it seems so petty when you're the picture who gave up the home
run.
Exactly.
It's one thing when the catcher does it because then when the catcher's doing it,
I think it's cool because the catcher is yelling at the guy to run so he's not showing
up his picture.
The picture is like, run, you're showing me up.
Yeah.
No, it's showing you up.
I mean, kind of, but that's the point.
I hit it out and I remember Johnny Goam said this one time.
I can't just be excited.
You hit it home run.
You're not only showing somebody up.
So Johnny Goam said they got a quote about that one time about like pimping home runs
because it's the stupidest thing he goes, you work your whole life to do the hardest
thing.
The reason baseball to hit it, to hit a baseball and you get to the major leagues and
you do it at the professional level and then you hit a home run.
And if you're a young guy or you've only hit a few home runs, you're not allowed to
celebrate when you hit one.
But if you're a guy like Barry Barnes, you have 700, you can stand there and watch him.
Yeah.
But it's like, but you've hit so many.
Why do you have to stand and watch all of them?
That's kind of his point.
He's like, so when a guy doesn't because one looks better after the another, but when
a guy doesn't, it's like the greatest moment of his career, they're like, you better
hurry your ass around the bases.
You better run.
That's another two is you got to run because you got to respect that guest, but that's
just lame.
Yeah.
I like when I like when guys show up fan bases when they do it when they like run the
bases slow like that kind of stuff sort of fun for me.
That's the game's been shipped and if a if a guy's pimping one too much and the catcher
wants to yell at him to go and then they throw it in the next time like that's all within
within sort of the the bounds of baseball.
I guess.
Yeah.
And I like that stuff because that's on field stuff.
But the don't show me up.
And then Max wants to like go get it out of the ocean.
We all hated that he hated off of you, bum, gunner.
You just made it look worse by by barking.
I know.
And I like, you know, like the the rival you had with with a yes, you'll put it with
their search for their down they just didn't like each other.
But I thought it was a little too much sometimes.
But gunner was like, oh, sugar show me up now with pipping that home runs like dude.
Just let him have the moment.
I get it.
I get it.
You're upset.
We're all upset.
But it is what it is.
Five.
What is this?
It's okay.
Van is checking in says there's a moral work code.
If a coworker buys you lunch, you don't take it home there.
All right.
Whatever.
Van will bring that up.
Every chance he gets.
I know he does.
Nobody from the filth does.
I think that's a good take about about the personality for other teams.
Everyone knows in Latin America, the Latin and American games are different.
Not one right or wrong.
That's just how baseball is in America.
Yeah.
I'm written rule.
That's what this one comes to Tim five when I was this unwritten rule.
Unwritten Tim rule.
No fire sauce.
No sandwich.
Or Tim said a sauce makes a sandwich.
Yeah.
I disagree with that one.
I mean, I saw I like a sauce on a sandwich.
Yeah.
Like if there's a place like like an ice or like a place Freddy's.
I was going to in North Beach classic Freddy's.
They do like the garlic sauce, a jalapeno sauce that you can have them coat the bread with
it.
Like if they have them.
Yeah.
To a sandwich.
I don't need it.
It can't make a sandwich.
It shouldn't.
Yeah.
I shouldn't.
You got to have the meat.
The cheese.
The bread.
I'm big on the ratio.
Dude.
The ratio of meat to bread is a big thing for me.
The ratio is key.
It's got me sturdy.
You got a burger that's soggy or a sandwich that's falling apart.
Yeah.
I can't have that.
So you're telling me like I guess mayonnaise could make a sandwich like if it's not on
the sandwich or burger, it just tastes bland.
You're like, okay, I need that.
Yeah.
To me, mayonnaise is more of like a.
Well, I guess it is a sauce.
I like it.
Yeah.
I mean, like I would.
I'll take the condom thing for 200.
That's condom instant.
Mr. Connery.
It's a.
It's for me.
It's like the sandwich glue.
Right.
You know what I mean?
Like I can't.
I need it like with my mustard to balance it out, but I got to have mustard on like a
deli sandwich.
Yeah.
Not only a mustard guy, but yeah.
I mean, mustard comes from mustard seeds.
There's more celebrity jeopardy.
Oh, yeah.
You just mustard right about that one.
Yes.
Yes.
French steward.
You're not a big mustard guy.
Not really.
No.
Probably mayonnaise.
We call it a manace to win.
I know.
It was you, the whole time.
I know.
But mayonnaise does add to a sandwich though or burger?
Yeah.
I mean, I want it on there.
But I'm among the other things burger.
I'm going to catch a mustard Mayo.
Probably.
Yeah, I'm not just going to mustard.
Just mustard must have says has a distinct taste.
We're just like if that stands alone, I'll go mustard on I'm just a little bitter on a dog or like a hot
wink even just to.
Yeah.
I like mustard. It's probably my favorite condiment. All right, you sounds good for dip.
And we were talking like ranch the other day. Ranch is like more of a condiment now than,
I mean, it's a sauce, but it's less of a salad dressing than anything else.
But I'm not putting that on a sandwich, got the word. No, just on pizza. No, not even that.
No, you're not dipping pizza in a ranch. No, that's a good taste, man. I'm doing like chicken nuggets.
Anyway, can be our how we rank in condiments. We'll talk about that throughout the afternoon.
I'm sure we're going to talk to Ron Boat. Is it 250? He joins us. We'll talk to him world-based
ball classic with him as a team USA through to the quarter final and so is team Italy.
Yes, Benchcoach of team Italy, Ron Boat is joins us at 250 Joseph Hoyt of the Dallas Morning news

win two tickets to come hang with us in a suite at the Shark Tank on Monday, April 6th against
the Blackhawks. We're giving away two tickets, include parking to the suite and you'll come and hang
out, watch the show and then stay for the game that Monday night. I'll tell you how you can win
those next and when we come on back, one of the favorite 49ers returns. After a brief stint
away in Denver, Dre Greenlock is returning to the 49er linebacking corps. We're getting to his
return next. Don't even work on a Thursday on these sports leaders.
Every day, excessive delays and denials from big insurers keep patients from accessing the care
they need and when care is urgent, these delays can be disastrous. These practices cost billions
in wasteful spending, driving up costs for American families, but while big insurers put up barriers,
America's hospitals and health systems are in your corner, navigating endless reviews and
appeals to get you the care you need when you need it most. It's time to curb these harmful
practices and put the focus back on patients, brought to you by the coalition to strengthen America's
healthcare. Hey football fans, it's Cam Hayward from the Pittsburgh Steelers. I still remember
what draft night felt like for me, the nerves, the waiting, and then hearing my name called knowing
everything was about to change. The 2026 NFL draft presented by Bud Light is coming to Pittsburgh,
April 23rd to the 25th. Enjoy three days of football, family fun, and the moment draft dreams come
true. Register for free entry at NFL.com slash draft xs. Maybe I'll see you there.
Now back to dirty work, Adam Copeland and Derek Papa on KNBR1045 and 680 AM, the sports leader.
Dirty work is sponsored by Jack's restaurant and bar and all day, any day kind of place.
Dirty work got a Thursday. Ron Wode is going to join us at the 250 benchcoach for the
for team Italy in the World Baseball Classic. They too are three to the quarter final.
Before we do anything though, I got to tell you people on the streets, they're saying to me,
Cubs, Cubs, Cubs. Calender, one home I spent in the weekend. We'll tell you about that a little
later. We'll get to that. They are asking me. My inbox was full. Yeah. It said you got to
delete some stuff. And it's mostly because emails from people asking where I've been because they
don't know how to spend their weekends. That was the majority of your emails. Yeah, I don't get a lot
of other contacts. It's either Spain or the tensile rundowns, tens of the heads, just a lot of
Derek rundowns to my Gmail and tens of thousands of emails from people asking how they'll spend their
weekend every every subject line is Cubs, Cubs, Cubs. They're also asking how I can win
sharks tickets come hand with you at the tank. We're giving away two tickets to sit in a suite at
the sharks game at SAP Center on Monday, April the 6th. Sharks against the black hogs. That'll
be a really fun game. Yep. And we're doing the show from the sweets. You guys will come in,
get your parking included, by the way, with your sweet tickets huge. Now with dirty work,
members of the field and we will watch the sharks take on Chicago. All you got to do to win the
tickets is listen to dirty work and hear the cue to call between three and six when you hear it
be called or 10 to the studio at four one five eight nine six can be our and you will win these
tickets. You can get the rules of these sports leader dot com. This is furnished. Of course, by
the San Jose sharks Tim, what's the cue to call for today's contest? Hey y'all, it's the cue to call.
If you want tickets to sharks parking fun call right now. Yeah, fun. Yeah, dude. I can't believe
I wasn't done that. It sounds like somebody would write for me to read. Oh, yeah, sharks fun
parking. I got a question for Tim. We're doing some on air producing. Yeah, so I have some
very important news. Oh, it's like anger man. Just come across my desk here.
I've got to show. It's come across my desk after I asked him if we were doing this. We're
yeah, we're giving away two tickets a day, right? To go to two a pair tickets. Yeah, a pair of tickets.
A pair of tickets. How about this? How about today? We give away two pairs of tickets. What?
Does that mean we do two cues to call him? That's exactly what that means. So you'll have two
opportunities today between three and six. We are giving away four total tickets to pairs.
Two people today are going to win a pair of tickets. Yeah, it's a lot of cues. Don't miss one,
Tim. To get to the the shark team on Monday, April 6th to hang in the suite, watch some
dirty work and then watch some much from shark's puck. Here are the cuticle between three and six.
And if you don't get that one, here are the second cuticle between three and six. You got two
chances today to win tickets. All right, the big news of the afternoon. It's kind of twofold here.
Drake Greenlaw returns to the 49ers. He was projected apparently to get. I can't remember who
put this out. I was just reading this pretty good. No, he was projected to get 5.7 million
or something like that from the from the. No, that was his market value. Oh,
market value. Actually, he was released. That's how he was valued price point wise. Yeah.
Niners gave him their saying above market value at 7.5. What's interesting here is Bryce Huff,
if you're just joining us, Drake Greenlaw resigns with the 49ers one year, 7.5 million.
Bryce Huff, like almost within five minutes, it was announced as retiring from the 49ers.
It was retiring from the NFL. Yeah, start a business. Go ahead, go ahead. The side note here is
the Niners are going to recoup about 5.5 million, 5.4 million. That's good in salary cap value.
So that's almost simultaneous to the signing of Drake Greenlaw. Well, that's good news.
We knew. Listen, the Bryce Huff stuff. It is what it is. They made a trade for him and June of
last year and Robert Salah was trying to get his career going again. Not a very good season with
the Philadelphia Eagles when he signed a big time contract. Look, you're not going to miss
Bryce Huff. It is what it is. You know, he tried to fill in for Nick Post and everybody on that
defensive line, but he's just not that player. He's a complimentary pass rusher and good luck to him
in the battery game. Anyway, when it comes to Drake Greenlaw, that's a big time move.
And I know a year ago many people did not want to see him leave. And I remember you and I
do in a show right before we all left or I left on vacation wondering about these Niners
free agents. There was a lot of them telling him who fun go Drake Greenlaw and they made some more
moves after that with releasing players. But I was shocked when Matt Barrow's joined us and said,
yeah, I think Drake Greenlaw's not coming back. I think that he wants to start his own thing where he's
the, you know, the guy that's leading the charge on defense. And I was like, wow, they're really going
to move on from him. And it made sense considering his last game with the 49ers where he was healthy
was that Super Bowl where he tore his Achilles when he was in, you know, celebration on the
sideline. And as soon as he came down and landed, he grabbed his knee or grabbed his leg and Fred
Warner was like, no, they knew right away. Yeah, Fred were grabbed his helmet. And then don't
forget the last game he played, I believe, as a 49er was the game, the Devondrey Campbell walked
off the field. Yeah, I think that was his final game as a Niner. I want to say that was like week
six, 17 Devondries or Drake Greenlaw's. Didn't Drake Greenlaw come back after that? He played
in two games. But he wasn't 100% healthy. He was what I'm saying. I think that might have been
the last ones. I think that's why he left the game. And I think they needed Campbell to play.
And that's when Campbell's like I'm not going back up. I remember it is he played a game against the
Rams that they lost 12 to six. And then the next week they played the Miami Dolphins. He played
for like a half or a quarter and then got hurt again. And then we never saw Drake Greenlaw.
Was this 23? This was 2024. 24, excuse me. Yeah. So then we super boilers. Yeah.
We knew that he missed the majority of the season and then it came back to the latter portion for
two games. And I think they was looking for a big time contract and John Lynch was like, well,
you're not going to make that much money. And sure enough, the Broncos paid him kind of overpaid
him. And even after they gave him the deal, I remember John Lynch calling him trying to pull like
or to cost and saying to Drake Greenlaw, look, we know you made a commitment to the Denver Broncos,
but it's not official yet. Do you want to come back to us? And he was like, no, I've already told
them I'm moving forward with Denver Broncos. So I hear you and I hear what Matt Perez was saying.
And again, he's connected to the stuff. And it was his take. He just didn't think Greenlaw would
want to come back. My thought is he left and he didn't get paid, but then got cut. Didn't
perform and wasn't as healthy as he needed to be. Right. I sort of view this. And this is
the case I was making for resigning him yesterday when I said, you need depth in that room still.
Fred Warner is still coming out with a very serious injury. I think he's going to be okay
considering he may have even returned for a potential NFC championship game. I think we're all
pretty confident with the time off. He's going to be all right. But just as a as an insurance policy,
why not? It doesn't cost you that much. You had a shallow room there anyway. I mean, you're one
Fred Warner going down away from being in the same virtually the same situation you were in this
year, right? You're signing street free agents. I mean, that's how thin they were. Yeah. So that's
what I mean, it's like, this is a guy who knows the system, who knows the organization. And I view
it sort of like a quarterback looking for his reclamation. If he comes back and he doesn't have to play
every, every snap and he can be the third guy or maybe work his way back in it. Maybe at some point,
he doesn't have taken a job and he does outperform at full health D winters. My point is D winters is
out of contact after this year. This is going to a lot of fire under him. Yeah. He started every
game for them last year. I liked what I saw, but I want to see him again alongside Fred. This is
good for everybody. And I think that's the case that I just make also and everybody knows this
and every phase of their life. But it's certainly true with athletes who have been cut released the
NFL. It's so cut throughout. It's nice to be wanted. It's nice to feel like somebody wants to go
home too. And this is going home to a place that wanted you and tried to keep you, even though you
were getting a big deal coming off an injury in the fan base loves him. And I remember that day,
I was doing the show with Dieter where he left to go to the Denver Broncos and everybody was like,
what the hell are we doing here? Like, yes, you can leave. You can make a tunnel who fungal leave.
It's not at the same or other guys that left him free agency a year ago. But when Drake Greenline
leaves, the hard and passion of that defense along with Fred Warner, that's tough. And I'm sure
Fred Warner was the driving cause for him returning. Like it's not his defensive coordinator. He does
not know where he more is. He knows Kyle Shanahan, but the fact that he gets back with, you know,
his teammate and Fred Warner. And that's got to be a big reason why he came back. And think about
how much, I mean, even as he's all shy. I remember that the year he left. Niners are in the playoffs.
And he was here at Levi Stadium on the field and street clothes like dancing with the defense
before the game. Yeah. He was like in their high puddle. And I'm like, that's like, so
you what this place and that that defense and how tight that unit of guys has been under Kyle.
Not to mention the wide nine defense that the 49ers runs benefits linebackers. You have to have
speed. You have to be able to do well and coverage and everything. And it was just so, I mean,
Fred Warner being out of sight. They just, it was so obvious that once that weak side linebacker
position became a source of vulnerability for the team. Other teams exploited it almost religiously.
They just kept going at that weak side, the Devonja Campbell side and then lash or the de-winner side
and the Garoualo side. And it's like, you might rack up a ton of tackles, but it wasn't like,
it was a source of strength for the team was doing. The Garoualo side with respect is not something
I need. And that's why you get your green.
That's why that's why I don't have to rely on the inexperience guys like
to be in a tomb filled in fine. Um, you know, de-winter's show that he should be one of the starting
linebackers who will be I'm assuming Fred Warner, Drake Green law and de-winter's and then get
more time for Nick Martin to develop. So you have more depth. And well, I think right away,
Drake Green law will be the starting linebacker, just a matter of how healthy will he be and if
these other guys eventually play better than him. But yeah, it's good to have a familiar face on
the defense once again, it away can be our four one five eight away five six two seven. We'll
put it out to the fifth one. I think everybody's excited about Drake Green law coming back.
It's not an expensive contract. A little odd the Bryce Huff for tires. And we said yesterday when
when the 49ers acquired OC and Diggie Zua, Osa, Diggie Zua, um, do they need one more? I think they
need one more. They should probably go get one more. They still need one more. They probably need
two more now on the defensive line. You think you need another edge problem? I think with Bryce
Huff, leaving that leads up to an open for, and what, what is it? Like five million in cap space
right now? They've recouped. I think 5.4 was what I saw from the Bryce Huff.
Okay. I think that's some money. I think they had 12 coming into today after I think they were at
like 12 or something after the trade yesterday. So that would put him if you take the seven and a
half away for Green law, um, you're down to the five range, but then you get 5.4 back.
You're probably somewhere in like a 10 10 11 range. I want to be the least bit surprised. And he's
not going to be the same type of player or get the same type of contract, but he's not, he's
on the tail end of his career and he doesn't have many opportunities to play with his brother.
I would not be surprised if Joey Boas becomes a nine or pretty soon here. Yeah. I think he's more
expensive than that. Like what they have to spend. We'll talk more about this eight away. Can be
our four one five eight away five sixty seven. Who's what I would ask the filth in the listeners
and the textures and the colors and the YouTube chat and just whoever whatever void I'm talking
into. Yeah. Well, however, however you receive this message, uh, what I'm asking is how do you,
like, how do we feel so far about the nine or off season? Last year, it was so, but at this point,
there was nothing. It was all blah. We're like, Luke Farrell was deciding. Yeah. At this point,
lecture, that was it. We're like, what? That was the high watermark. I feel pretty good about some
of the stuff they've done, but still the trend thing is looming out there again. No news to me is
good news. Because there was news the other day and it seemed like it was going in the wrong
direction. Now the longer plays out though, the longer plays out the worse it is, but the fact that
there's not been more public pressure means to me that they're still at the negotiating. Yeah,
that makes me feel good in general. What grade would you give the off season to this point? Do
you feel like they've done enough to to improve to get closer to the Rams in the sea,
because my Kevin says, I felt like they were one piece away and I'm that piece. I don't think
they were one away. I think they were a couple away, but I think they've done some good things to
address some spots. Green was a good depth piece, but how do you feel in general about the way the
off season has gone? Also, what's the best condiment? A lot of people have checked it on the condiment
on the the text line. We'll get to that coming up. Also, it's all a man is also a condiment. No,
it's a dip. Yeah, it's a dip. Yeah, or a sauce. Yeah, dip sauce. I don't know. It's split in
hairs here. I know I can't be a condiment though. I know I can't be a, how do you grade the
Niners off season to this point? And what's the best condiment? We'll do it next. Starting
work on a Thursday on these sports leaders.
First in 10, 33 yard line of the Niners Brady back at a throw. Right ball got
jumped and accepted by Jury Greenlaw dropping back into coverage. He tipped the ball up into the
air and intercepted it. Tom Brady picking himself up off the ground finds out he has thrown his
second interception of the game.
Did one of the, one of the moments we don't talk enough about, honestly, in my opinion,
the coolest moment next to the Dan Buns like stop at the goal line of super of, uh, no,
well, he stopped, uh, who was a Marshal Lynch to win the division, right? 2019 with that green
line. Did that green line? Yeah, good green line. Okay, they bring in Mars saying Dan Buns like
got you. Dan Buns like tackle at the goal line. Yeah, to win the division for the Niners. And we
all, I mean, I had a pit in my stomach when Marshal jogged onto the field from the one to take
that ball. And he wasn't looking pretty good. Like they just signed him that week and he was
getting like a big beer good and everything. I was, I was traumatized. You know, we all had,
we all had trauma. But of course, that's the perfect story. It was like Marshal's back and
sure enough, he's gonna score a touchdown against the Niners to be given the one seed.
The only people that surprised were the Patriots. Patriots fans. They were like, man, they ran it.
Patriots fans were shocked. They were like, man, they ran it, huh? Yeah, they were more
surprised that they didn't turn it over. Like I wouldn't, I didn't expect him to score, but
he wasn't making that mistake twice. He ran it with Marshal on there and they get the stop.
And it was a tough stop there. Anyway, one of the coolest moments I think of Green Loss career is
the game against Tom Brady and the Buckinghamers. It's Brock Perty's first career start, isn't it?
Yes. Brock Perty's first career start. Very Green Loss said the week leading up, he was going to
pick, he wanted to get a pick against Tom Brady, which is a policy thing to say. We don't get as
much as many NFL like guarantees as we did when we were kids. Even members of Jamal Lewis,
you say he was going to break the the rushing record in a single game or Jamal. And who said he
was going to do that? Then why not and did it? I don't remember either of them doing it.
Who was it? Who set the same name rushing record? It was Adrian Peterson against the chargers.
Prior to that. Jamal Lewis. That's what I mean, I think he came out and said he was going to do it.
I think he said he was going to do it and he's like, I'm going to do it this week then he did it.
Well, the Browns defense was terrible. But yeah, I mean, I mean, we don't have like guys that
are that braggadocious. I mean, they are and they're not. It's just it's a tough thing to do now
and you don't want to make waves and coaches don't want any external noise. That stuff that is,
it's generally frowned upon. But by saying I'd love to pick off Tom Brady. It's kind of incredible.
It's also like a nod to Brady. So he does get an interception against him. And then after the game,
he and both Fred Warner rolled up to the field and had him sign the ball. It was pretty funny.
It seemed like Tom didn't really have a choice. Yeah. And by the way, actually,
those shoes, Tom. Yeah. So that that week 17 game between the Seahawks and the 49ers,
they did give it a Martian initially. But then they threw a passage, a polyester who was
tackled at the one yard line by drew by Drake Greenlaw. There you go. So it was it was a holster.
But the biggest moment in Drake Greenlaw's career in my opinion is when he intercepted Jordan
love twice in that playoff game to give them the win against Green Bay Packers ago on to play
the lines that NFC championship game. So my biggest question is Drake Greenlaw was not
healthy when he signed with the Denver Broncos, but they passed him. They they went through with the
deal. Some just some GMs do that. But yeah, but Drake Greenlaw signed with the Denver Broncos and
he was not going to be healthy for the majority of the season. They knew that when they signed him.
But he came in and he played the last eight games of the regular season and played pretty well.
But it wasn't enough for them to go through with the contract. They have other players. I think
Alex Singleton's more of the leader of that defense there with the Broncos. So what kind of player
are the Niners getting in Drake Greenlaw? That's my biggest question is he's not the same guy.
But he's going to be a leader on that defense. And the one year contract for 7.5 millions
appropriate for him. But just what kind of player are you getting now in a different type of
Drake Greenlaw? That's my biggest question. The better thing here is you don't need him to be
with the job you don't mean two year. It's the thing here is it's been two years of a shallow line
back in court, right? They thought they were getting Eric Hendrix two years ago and again same sort
of thing pulled out of the deal and went to Dallas instead, right? They thought they were getting
well, not thought they were getting Fred Warner goes down in Tampa this year and D Winters,
we were hoping was going to emerge to be that off linebacker be the other linebacker next to Fred.
And after Devonver Campbell is so bad and then they got so banged up Greenlaw never returned to
form and then ended up exiting and was too expensive to keep. So like you were relying on him
in a different capacity two years ago when he was here. You don't need him to be the starter.
The hope is that D Winters can emerge and continue his development and do so alongside Fred,
which will make everybody look even better. The hope for him is that he can tell the enough to play
and make an impact and put it enough on tape in a place that he's comfortable and confident
that he can go get another big contract. I view this kind of like like the Robert Solid deal.
Like here's an opportunity for you to reset. Yeah. And then see if you can volute yourself into
another multi deal. I love a player with something to prove in a guy like Greenlaw. He said to me he's
a fifth rounder, right? Because I'd approve it since he got to the lead. I believe so. But yeah,
I mean, yeah, fifth round, fifth round in 2019. I'm just surprised that he wanted to go back to
the Niners where Robert Salah is not there. And I guess he didn't, I mean, like he was there
with him in 2019 and 2020 and he's had different coordinators. So I guess it doesn't matter
that much. My thought was going to be he goes to Tennessee, but it really is the presence of Fred
Warner is why he's coming back. And I guess Kyle Shanahan is the head coach too, but the fact that
Fred was his teammate is running made as you know, tandem linebackers there and we all remember that
moment. It's mic'd up where Drake Greenlaw hurts himself and Fred Warner's beside himself. And I
guess it was that story a year ago where they were both hanging out with their significant others
and they told each other like, hey, this is going to be it. And and then Drake Greenlaw went on
to go to the Denver Broncos. I'm glad they reunited. I don't know what Drake Greenlaw is going to
be this year, but if it longs, he brings that veteran presence, the defense will be improved.
Yeah, and I doubt that you trust, which is somewhat, I mean, I'm not so much. It's very important
valuable for what this defense needs with a lot of young players on it. A lot of people have
checked and said, yeah, coach, that was not Marchion. Jacob Hollister. It was Jacob Hollister.
I got you, but seven or seven reminds me since you guys are forgetting, they took a delay
again. I remember that, yeah, because Marshall couldn't find his helmet. So that's why they backed up.
So the Patriots fans weren't surprised. No, but they were, they were the one-yard line. It was
delay again. That pushback. Yeah, I remember it was a whole so weird delay of game. We were like,
why are they taking so long? Yeah. Yeah. Good knowledge, everybody. It was bad. It was bad,
a late game execution by Pete and the bunch. I'd love to call it jet lag, but I probably just
spoke too much or something. No, that's all me too. I forgot. I,
yes, Jacob Hollister was the guy they take over the one-yard line. You're the, you're like,
I'm not. I'm usually this of all when it comes to memories of football, but that one, I remember
that game and I know the score, 26 to 21, nine years, when I'm not surprised. I'm not surprised.
I forgot. But I do remember that sequence. Marshall wasn't involved, but it wasn't the last
play. It was Jacob Hollister. Either way, came to our 415, either way, five, six, two, seven,
the number to call and the number to text. How do you grade the 49ers offseason to this point?
And what's the best condiment? It's got a big L. He's in Sacramento, big L. You're on these
ports later. What about? He's right here. He's holding. That's bad. That's bad. I just dropped
it off though nation. Oh, good, good on you, big L. You're good. You're good. Yeah, I'm dropping off.
We got to, you got to share with those who are less fortunate. There you go, Al. I never heard. There you go.
Anyway, favorite condiment. Listen, you only get one, so it has to be something that you really
love to put on all sorts of stuff. But that's for me is mustard. I use mustard, all sorts of things.
People wouldn't even think about it. Well, like what? Give me an example. Give me an example.
Big L. Give me an example of something weird you put mustard up and close the door.
Yeah. I love that. Thanks, Jimmy. I love to get my mom's or now the wife, but the mashed potatoes,
you know, traditional mashed potatoes instead of gravy and all that. I'll put mustard and catch this.
Blue cheese dressing. You're losing me. I don't know. You do love mustard more than I do.
Yeah. That's the thing. What do you got? What do you got? What do you got on the
nighters? How do you grid the off season? Yeah. No. Yeah. I could. Yeah. The 90 I think he, I think
they've done well. I think 49 fans that when I listen to you guys talking, they need to calm down.
First of all, it's not their team. You know, use general managers. They have to go through the
process and they're doing for their, you know, the ownership. They're doing the best job. They
believe they can do. And it's until the owner thinks they're not. That's all up to them. You
had the fans have no say. What are you going to do? Walk away and give up on the 49ers doubtful.
That doesn't happen. No. So just relax and see what happens. I think he's done a good job.
And under the salary cap considerations or total team structure, they did a good job. You
don't want to mortgage the future, especially your next two, three, four years, too, with certain
Salt Lake parties going to go anywhere. So he's the foundation on the offensive side. Right.
And defense is a team concept. You got to have a bunch of dudes on defense.
Appreciate the call out. Thanks so much, man. Keep up the good work. Help the community do a good deal
on, uh, I just don't believe his, uh, he's what was a mustard and hot sauce combo. No, no, mustard and
blue cheese. Oh, mustard blue cheese. So he said he loves mustard more than, than most people do.
And he's like, I put mustard on things that people wouldn't even think. I said, give me an example.
He said, thanksgiving and gets mashed potatoes. Instead of gravy, he puts mustard and blue
cheese dressing. I love both of those things. I love all three of those things. Never at the same time.
I like mustard. I don't love it though. And God, mustard people are weird. It's not totally
unheard of to put like in a, in a mashed potato. Like if you're putting like butter or a cream or
whatever, putting a little Dijon mustard in there, that's totally normal. That's happened. That's
all right. Sounds like my man is like, is like grabbing the franches. Yeah, if you get grabbing
the franches and you're going direct in, it's like, I don't know. I think, I think we all could get
down a little gray poop on. Yeah, that's one of my favorites. I'm over yellow mustard, but I'm
I like the poop on, I'm like, I'm like a, uh, uh, brought or a link or something. Yes.
I real quick. We are good pretzels, before we get to, uh, it's a roadboost, real quick, berries and
burling game. Barely, Barry, what's going on man? You're on these sports leader.
Guys, hey, how are you both doing well? Uh, director. First of all, thinking about your dad.
Every day, appreciate it, man, thank you. All right. Condiments.
Better count as a condiment. No, you know, but no, I mean that's one of a spread, right? Yeah.
We're splitting hairs here
I mean disappoint you I appreciate us being there, but you do like peanut butter, huh? Yeah, I'm a peanut butter man
Do you crunch your crunch your smooth?
All right green one yeah, I wonder whether
It's talking that with rehearse
Maybe we see more maybe an extra guy lurking at the edge
Who can either rush the pastor or drop into coverage?
Doesn't mean that that person is a land backer technically, but you know the more I have a singer and I'll play a lot since he left
But doesn't it just point in his career?
Doesn't that sound like a role?
It could be suited to you know not every down
But maybe he plays a long-haired situation. Yes, you put him up near the orange Grimidge
Yeah, you don't know if you're off that's a coordinator, right where are you going to deploy him?
What do you guys think about that? Oh, that's that's a possibility to call Barry. Thanks so much, man
No, I really that's kind of what we're talking about here
He's gonna be a situational linebacker for them, I think until he and unless he takes a job
But he's also an insurance policy. He just needs to get I mean, I don't know if he's situational, but I think he's gonna play I
Think he's probably gonna play more than other bench linebackers did. Oh, yeah, I think so but we do have to run
We got to get out because Ron Wotus is waiting for us. I'll give you my great later and then my favorite condiment, which was manays
Okay, thanks for the tease
Well, I said it earlier. I'll talk more about mayonnaise later. That's maybe the worst thing we could pitch
Well, so people are feeling that I said muster people are weird. Thank God. We have
World baseball classic to talk about and thank goodness for the Italians the Italian

30 work on a Thursday afternoon and what a treat to be joined by our next guest one of our favorite guys Ron Wotus
Joins us on the human guest line and he's of course the bench coach for team Italy
Ron, I guess we just want to start by saying hey, thanks for the work you did last night for for team USA man as
As Vinnie said after the game, you're welcome American. I'm doing good. Well, it takes a village the players got to perform
We got a great coaching staff
And honestly, I never knew that you could survive on wine espresso and pasta
I mean, it's got to be it's got to be the best like one of the best. It's got to be top two or three cuisines for teams to coach for right?
Oh, yeah, look, I mean every one of our meals. I think it's been Italian meal. We got we got fresh prosciutto
Not prosciutto excuse me Parmigiana from from Italy. Oh man. It's over
Yeah, the food is fun, right? The Italians like to eat so do I well the food is fun but the baseball has been really fun
Before we get into into what's going on this year and and you're guys run right now
I was thinking back as I believe I was at the first ever game
This started in06 the world baseball classic and I think the first ever game that team USA played was a scrimmage game
Like a warm-up in the Scottsdale and it was a game against the Giants
And I believe I was at the game. Do you remember that that game in the start of the WBC?
Real I don't remember if it was the start
You know the years kind of run together for me, but I do remember playing USA at our ballpark. Yeah
Once or twice and maybe was just that was the only time I get they played him again this year as you probably
You guys know, but yeah, that was probably the start of it. I remember I remember being there. Yeah
So what I remember Clemens pitched for team USA and then Barry was over on team USA
What do you remember about or what what can you tell us about how this is evolved?
Because really the global game and it's always been global
In in major league baseball, but now that we're getting to see like a lot of the Japanese players before they come over
We're getting looks at at cool situations like the guy in Chechi who's like an electrician and struck out o' tawny like
Gotta got a standing ovation in Japan like the way this has grown every few years. It's become one of my favorite events
You're right copes. I mean look when the first started
I think everybody was hesitant course organizations
Didn't love the fact that guys were going to compete, you know, this early in the year
Which is still a big problem, you know, not to get into that
But we're pretty banged up right now. We've lost several players to injury, but um, you know, but you know, it wasn't
It wasn't as big as it is now. It is really really grown
The park here in Houston, you know, there's I mean, they've been packed for USA
Mexico's got a huge following down here as you can imagine
But I think even the players
Want to be a part of it now at the beginning was, ah, you know, do we want to do this? Yes or no
But it has grown to the point now where a lot of players
Really want to be involved with this and of course the Latin American countries
I think from the beginning they were all into it and want to show who has the best team. There's no doubt about that
talking to Ron Wotus on the uma guest line
So just talk about last night's victory nine to one over Mexico and any quit Vini Pasquatino's three run per three home run performance last night
Just what was what was the vibe like and what what was he meant to your run during this WBC run?
Yeah, Derek. Well, you know, he's been he's been kind of he is the team captain, but he's been a very good leader
He's been working hard at getting the guys together
You know, he has meetings here and there
He passes out a bottle of wine for the player of the game and the pitcher of the game
You know last night he gave the bottle of wine to
Aaron Nola, but he did have to say I'm keeping the wine for myself for the position player the game is he hit three home runs
So
You know, it's it's been a lot of fun. It's been a lot of fun and
You know what we're looking for the you know the vibe is look the USA was a big big win
I mean that club is loaded and we don't necessarily have the weapons to match up with them late in the game
We have one left-hander and you know when Dero started unloading his bench
We didn't have any match up so we held on by the skin of our teeth to hold them off the next day after that big emotional win
You know if if Mexico scored five runs we were out right if we if we lost a game and they scored
I mean if we won the game they scored five we were out
so
It was a little unnerving and you know, I really can't say how how well these guys have played the pitching has been outstanding
And the thing we're doing to win games is we're scoring early right and we're adding on and when you do that
It's tough to lose and your win also advances team USA
So what do you how many people from team USA hit you up last night thinking you for the victory?
Logan Webb hyped to get another opportunity. Yeah, I bet
Yeah, Logan should have called hot. No, no zero
We haven't we haven't heard from those guys at all, but
You know, they're actually staying in another part of town. They're staying at a different hotel
Everybody else has been at our hotel, but now you know us
Whether you only team here at this hotel in USA is out at the post oak and in Houston
I'm talking a ride bonus here on the uma guest line
What's interesting about this is it's a bunch of guys from different teams
I'll have to come together and like chemistry is a thing and momentum and baseball is a thing
It's just very delicate it builds in such a different way relative to other sports
How quickly did this team bond together? How is that worked? And then tell me about the the
The mindset of having to coach a game or play a game that's I mean, it's a one-off like every time basically right
I mean, it's not really how baseball is designed. It's just a much different style that you kind of got to hit the ground running with
Well, there's a lot there's a lot different about this tournament
First of all the roster the pitch limits
You know the pitcher throw 65. He's got to sit down for four days if a guy goes you know
A 50 you got to lose him for two days
So there's a lot of other things that you have to manage the roster alone
There's constant, you know decisions would be made with that
You know, you can't replace players unless they're hurt
You know, you have sometimes you have guys that you know aren't playing and they want to go back to their clubs
Because they're trying to make the big league club
So there's there's a lot of different dynamics that you have to deal with in this tournament
Fortunately for me and rags. We got a little experience with must-win games
So, you know that that that hasn't been a big issue
But you know the players have responded. I mean, we have some major league players
But we have some top prospects that you played, you know, just were drafted last year
AA triple-A guys and I can't tell you how well these guys have played and
I think it was easy for this team to come together, you know with the with the food the espresso
You know the Italians have a have a lot of things that people enjoy and and Vinnie being the team leader and and pushing that
He's been here before I mean we were on the plane flying out here and these guys are singing Bocelli on the plane the Italians
You know
Fran Francisco's got them in suits to the park every game. They were blue
So I think a lot of those things they've really bought into it in the course
Winning your first couple games really helps the chemistry as well. I love that
I mean, I love that they've embraced that they're that they're all in on the culture of it too
It's as team Italy advances with their win yesterday
Ron Votus the bench coach for team Italy joins us on the Uma guest line
Okay, so I don't know how familiar people are with what a bench coach does my my impression is always that it's way more than anybody
Has any idea that I mean you're you're the right-hand man
But you're keeping track of everything and you just pointed out there's I mean, it's been a lot of evolution
I'm sure with that role
But also the rules across baseball at the major league level what has been the biggest adjustment for you as a bench coach
In terms of rules and things you've got to keep organized throughout the game because it is a different style of turn of it
Well, I think the biggest thing is you know the rule changes constantly every year and
You know, hopefully we don't get any tough ones because the heck I you know, I'm not as sharp as I was with the rules
You know years ago. I had 24 years in the game and you thought your experience would help you
But they changed the darn rules, you know every year
So you have to you have to stay up on those rules and then the video replay and all this type of stuff
So the game is constantly evolving. I mean what the you know runner at second base and extra innings
You have to rethink a lot of the strategy of different things
But you know the games the game it's still the game
That you know, we've always played the you know the what all I try to do is help the manager
You know take everything off his plate
And help him the best way I can before the game and organization the workouts that type of stuff
And then in game, you know, I'm there next to Francisco and I just point things out
You know, he hasn't coached one year with San Diego. He hasn't managed
So I point things out there in the game that I think he needs to know and he's been great
He talks a lot he wants to hear it and it's been fun and of course, you know, I have to say
It's not only me look. We have a great coaching staff
You know rags this year with Alessandro the local Italian pitching coach
You've got Frank Manichino as a hidden coach George Passato as a good friend of Francisco
Survelli. He's got five world series rings. He knows what he's doing. Allard Baird
Ben a GM and the major league. He's coaching first South Fassano. There's an Italian name. Yeah
He's a former catcher. He's been in the league forever. He's our bullpen
Bullpen coach. So, you know, I'm probably leave
Not ellipse on novice coaching third forest. Of course, we've worked together in the giants organization a long time. So
A great coaching staff support staff and that makes a difference
You know, when you have a number of people taking care of their areas kind of reminds me of you know when we were winning world series
We had a heck of a staff and if if all your people are taking care of their area
It's a lot easier on the manager
And of course net colletti who I heard the other day when you were on Merva Marcus
Is a big reason why you joined the team and I couldn't think of a better GM for team Italy then net colletti
Spocked him we spoke we spoke to him many times a great storyteller very Italian
You know how competitive he was with the giants and Dodgers. So how is Ned as the GM of team Italy?
Oh, he's been great. Look it's it's so fun to be reunited with Ned and you know
He's a reason I'm here last spring, you know, we we talked about it and then we had dinner and we consummated the
official word that I would be doing it
You know, he's been fantastic. I call him colletti's collection, right? Yeah of players is what we have and he worked hard
Starting last spring trying to recruit players, which isn't easy, right?
And
So he's done a fantastic job. It's a lot of fun with him and you know, look
Look at the experience this guy has. I mean, he's one of the best negotiators
I ever knew when he was working here for the giants. He's been with the Dodgers
He knows everybody you talk about being Italian. He's friends with Joe Pesci for crying out
Come on. How much more tying can you get than that? Wow. That's pretty incredible. I didn't know how they met how they became friends
Well, LA yeah
They get all the stars. I mean, he's he's met a lot of people obviously
You know, the sort of when he was down there too and being with the Dodgers you run into a lot of people
Just like we did back in the day, you know with robin Williams
And we've had all kind, you know, Santana's been out there
Who's the Johnny Denny Glover?
I mean, yeah, so when you're having success in your winning world series like LA is you know, he's getting to meet a lot of people
Plus you got just Willie Mays hanging. Yeah, plus Willie Mays is just taking around the back
You're the biggest star of them all will. Well, you know, we love talking here
We love talking baseball with you and I know we'll do it throughout the season
But it warms my heart to see you and rags out there, man. It's really cool
You guys have been a part of this and getting to see Dusty in the dugout. Yeah, that was great
I was great too. So this has been a lot of fun man and best of luck to you go give them the hell man. Appreciate it
Thanks, buddy. Good being with you guys. You got it guys. Take care
Thanks a lot, man. The great Ron Wotus world series champion with your giants and now bench catch for team Italy doing great things
They got the matchup against Puerto Rico tomorrow. So uh, yeah, Puerto Rico
One, he said it weird. Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico. Yeah, okay
You said a fat Tim you heard it
Yeah, I don't want to pick out you did uh, I don't want to needle you
Um, anyway, how cool is it though? By the way, they're showing up in like shoots and ties like it weren't
I gotta forget. I haven't seen any video or photos. It's gotta be pinstripe, right? Oh, it has to be
Rolling in like peshy at the end of good for us. By the way, we need we need some peshy stories from neck colletti next time he's on
I did not know they knew each other. We got a book colletti to talk team Italy when this is over
Yeah, and then just for the peshy stories
I want to talk peshy with and that isn't surprised me at all like, you know, what he says that
He's like, yeah, he's friends with Joe peshy. I'm like, yeah, I can see that of course
I wonder if they were friends before he went down to LA. Well, it seems like he got he's got great stories with Tommy Lasorda and Frank Sinatra
So that's the man. Oh, yeah, he is he is the Italian GM
He told us that story because Sinatra was a Giants fan. That's right. Yes. He's a Giants fan of Lasorda broke his heart that he wouldn't
Rue for the Dodgers, right
I like the idea of just breaking Lasorda's heart. That's my that's what I'm in for. I think Giants fans are all about that

We've been talking today the theme of the show today
Has been 49 or 40-hour offseason plus what's the best condiment?
Derek as we've called Tim for years now mayonnaise Tim Webb mayo Tim Webb
Derek admitted earlier on that that is in fact mayonnaise his favorite condiment
Well, yeah, so that you proclaim last segment quote mustard people are weird. Muster people are weird
Which taught you sack text at us and said he made him laugh
You suck by the way came over the couple of good takes. He's a big guy. He's a big member of the film
I just don't like mustard's fine
But like people go crazy for mustard and ranch we talked about it the other day
I'm just like I don't like go crazy for mustard
I'm just like to me it provides something like mayonnaise doesn't have a lot of flavor in general and too much man too much of anyone
Okay, but it's my favorite condiment when it comes to sandwiches like if I'm having french fries
Obviously, I'm having a ketchup if I'm having like chicken tenders. I'm doing ranch or mustard or ketchup
Like many barbecue. Yeah, but he must yeah barbecue too
I like it all but like if you ask me like what's my like go to condiment for sandwiches? Probably mayonnaise
Well, I'm just sort of an open-ended question like condiment in general because like Todd
He's such as one but yeah, he said checks and he says dying at the quote mustard people are weird
They are weird and then he says um and you agree with us. He says sushi spicy sauce. Yes. Very good
What what are you referencing? What's sushi spicy sauce? Are we talking about with sobby sauce?
Why don't I don't know what wasabi sauces. I'm sorry. I'm not sauce, but I eat with sobby with
So I was sort of my assumption is there was just soy sauce with the sobby. Yeah, you could mix it together
Well, yeah, I think that's what Todd's talking about
Okay, I don't know that I'm calling it. Is that a condiment really? No, I don't know because that's like a bad two thing
Yeah, it's young when it comes to what his favorite sauce is this is a horseradish category. Yeah, I mean a little bit
I don't know if that is what I'm in on that but then he says chickfully sauce also good chickfully sauce is good
I mean, I'm another Polynesian sauce too. No, that's good. I like a sweet chili sauce also maybe with some lumpia
Not bad. Some egg roll something like that. Raising cane sauce. Good, too. Raising cane sauce. I don't see. That's a little male
for me
Mm-hmm. That one has a little milk too much male on the
Sort of things Chick-fil-A sauce though. Have you given an answer to him? What's your favorite? I think Chick-fil-A sauce is a bit different
I said that my favorite was probably like a Dijon or Dijon spicy mayo like spicy mayo
Yeah, Tim. I think I think that raising cane sauce is more male like than Chick-fil-A
I think Chick-fil-A is more smoky and barbecuing. I just think it's in the same category though. Let's see
Well, yeah, I'm just saying the taste of it. I like Chick-fil-A. You're a Chick-fil-A sauce that contains family. What happened?
It's definitely the mayonnaise family. The man is family. Todd Hussack also checks and he says how can you beat ketchup though?
He says fries burgers tenders
It is I mean, it is it is a it is the go-to. It's kind of the gateway condiment too
Like a lot of kids will eat ketchup and only ketchup
You know, I mean like go have french fries or ketchup or like they're hamburger that don't want
Mustard's like a stronger taste. So it opens kids eyes to other condiments
I just think it's like the first condiment a lot of people are into. Of course. It's a cat. So I mean, it's a gateway condiment. Yeah
It's a gateway condiment. Yeah, I don't know how you could disagree
That's how you try out. You know, you you try out ketchup. Then you move on to other, you know
Condiments like mustard or relish. Yeah, I eat less ketchup cheese. Let's catch up now that I used to
I like even with fries. I'm more so I don't need as many fries. I used to but I'm more I'm more so
I like it. It's sort of spicy. I'll put like pepper in my ketchup. Okay. I like pepper in my ketchup
But I don't dip as much. I like it on like a burger or hotdog. Okay. What's the one you do the least like I never do sour
Croute. I'll never do relish I'll throw a relish on every once in a while. It's rare though like only only for hot dogs
I can't think of anything else. I put relish on yeah, no hotdogs. I'm big on pickles. That's not a condiment
It's just like I like that that it's another treat sort of tangy taste
Yeah, a lot of people chicken it on the text line. We'll get to that at eight o'clock
We can't be our four one five eight away. Top of five six two seven. You're number one condiment
This hot sauce count as a condiment. I think it kind of does. Yeah, I think so. I was tapeteers up there for me too
But see that hot sauce. I love hot sauce. I'm not my favorite condiment. I'm not putting it on my food. No
You're not putting hot sauce on your food. By the way, I tried your hot sauce that you
Perry Perry saw. Yes, I put it on I tried it during the the can be our off-air podcast today
Not hot but tasty. No, it's not really that spicy, but it's got a good it's got a good heat flavor
It's not like well, it's definitely not hot hot. I'm saying like the ones that I get like the hot ones
You like the ones that like burn your mouth. Yeah, those are for challenges
I'm not putting on my food though. All like occasionally put on my eggs
But then it's like these eggs are hot as well. Well, you don't eat hot
But you don't put like tapeteer on your eggs. I will. Yes
I'm not talking about like the hot ones like
That's how it's intention though. Of course not the intention is for challenge
I'm saying like that well for wings. I'm saying the right but like for a challenge
Like nobody's ordering the bomb just to have it for taste, are they?
No, that's my point. You'll be sick individual if it's nobody's doing that so I'm like they do that for the challenge
We like hot sauce because we like heat with the food. I'm saying. I like putting like tap or chaloo
Oh, of course. Yeah, I'm trying some some noodles or something like that
We'll talk more more condiments coming up with the listeners as well
