Drone attack in Iraq, Afghanistan says 400 killed in Pakistan strike

Instability caused by the U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran has spilled over into neighboring

Iraq.

Defence has intercepted drones over the capital Baghdad, security sources tell Al Jazeera,

an attack struck near the U.S. Embassy compound.

It is located in the city's heavily fortified green zone and was targeted several times

on Monday.

One drone hit a hotel in Baghdad, causing a fire on the rooftop.

Security forces cordoned off the area and closed roads.

The Iraqi Interior Ministry says there were no casualties.

The Philippines has begun distributing an $85 fuel subsidy to public transport drivers.

It comes days before President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is expected to suspend excise taxes

on oil products.

The country imports nearly all of its fuel supplies and has been hit hard by the closure

of the Strait of Hormuz prices have doubled since the Iran war.

Israeli forces are bombing Beirut's southern suburbs.

The area is home to roughly half a million people and has endured Israeli airstrikes

for more than two weeks now.

The air attack has come after Israel announced on Monday that it was moving troops into southern

Lebanon.

Kabul has killed at least 400 people and injured hundreds of them all.

It's the latest escalation in a growing conflict between the two countries after fragile

Police in Northeastern Nigeria say at least 23 people have been killed in bombings in

the city of Medaguri.

Exposions went off in at least three locations in the capital of Borno State, a teaching hospital

and two markets were hit.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks as yet.

Cubans have been protesting after a widespread blackout left 10 million people without power.

The country's grid operator says the system has collapsed.

The island nation is facing an energy crisis after the US imposed an oil blockade in January.

President Donald Trump has threatened to impose tariffs on any country that sells oil

to Havana.
