Report: DDoS Attacks Are Hammering Financial Firms
- Financial firms are facing a surge in highly targeted and sophisticated DDoS attacks, with new research revealing that threat actors are severely disrupting business operations, eroding profitability, and undermining customer trust.
- The latest study from nonprofit cybersecurity group FS-ISAC and cloud firm Akamai has revealed that financial services firms were among those hit hardest by volumetric DDoS attacks last year, which aim to overwhelm victims with sheer traffic made up of hundreds, millions, or even billions of individual malicious requests.
- The joint study, From Nuisance to Strategic Threat: DDoS Attacks Against the Financial Sector, found that these attacks against the financial sector have been growing for years, but 2024 saw a significantly sharp uptick compared to other industries, with a major spike in October that saw nearly 350 attack events.

- It now appears that Quillin was illegally operating his online operation and likely broke his court-ordered stipulations defined in his docket earlier this year, just five months ago.

US to cut military aid to Ukraine, Hegseth says
- The United States will reduce funding allocated for military assistance to Ukraine in its upcoming defense budget, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said in a congressional hearing on June 10.
- “It is a reduction in this budget,” Hegseth told lawmakers in the U.S. House of Representatives.
- “This administration takes a very different view of that conflict. We believe that a negotiated peaceful settlement is in the best interest of both parties and our nation’s interests, especially with all the competing interests around the globe.”
- The Pentagon has not yet released the full documentation regarding its 2026 budget. According to Hegseth, the pending budget “provides a historic level of funding for military readiness, putting (U.S.) warfighters and their needs first.”
- Hegseth did not disclose details as to the extent of the funding cuts to Ukraine.

- President Trump broke news on Tuesday that he is reversing the Democrats’ erasure of American History by reinstating the names of seven bases previously changed under Biden’s woke DEI Regime.
- This will include reinstating the name of now-Fort Gregg-Adams, formerly named after the leader of the Confederacy, General Robert E. Lee.
- The President previously condemned the proposed name changes as “politically motivated” when he vetoed legislation requiring bases named after Confederate generals to be renamed in late 2020. “Over the course of United States history, these locations have taken on significance to the American story and those who have helped write it that far transcends their namesakes,” he said in a veto message to Congress.
