Low off third, Ruiz off first.
Now the pitch.
Swing and a drive deep to left.
Down the line toward the corner.
It has a falling flag.
Low scores to tie the game.
Ruiz the third will hold there.
And it's second with a game tying double.
And his seventh army eye is Dylan Cruz.
Hey, Natchette Tim showvers here creator and producer of this podcast.
Real short pop up episode in reaction to Friday afternoon's news.
That Dylan Cruz is being optioned to triple a Rochester to start the season.
If you heard our last episode that came out Thursday morning,
and I encourage you to go and listen.
If you haven't done so already,
Mark had this to say to Al about Cruz's performance thus far in spring training.
After speculation had begun that he might not be on the opening day roster.
I understand that he is not look good and believe me, he has not look good.
He has swung at some pitches that are way out of the zone.
The contact he's making is weak.
I've already seen him just in the few days.
I've been back down here hit several little tapers back to the mount.
Week ground ball.
So it's not like he's hitting line drives right at people.
The quality of contact is not good.
Cruz is three for 28th this spring, zero extra bass hits and 10 strikeouts.
He did not play in Friday night's loss to the Marlins and Jupiter.
Prior to the game, first year manager Blake Guterra had this to say about the decision.
We just think the best thing for Dylan and the organization right now is at least for him to start and triple A.
Obviously he is not performing the way that he expects himself to.
Not just this spring, but also as previous years in the big leagues.
It was a small sample size of course, but you know, we told him like, hey, like we,
like you're going to be a huge part of this thing going forward.
I know this is really hard right now.
It's really tough.
That audio is courtesy of Mark himself and that's journal dot com.
If you haven't signed up yet for natural dot com,
you are not yet set for nationals opening day.
This Blake Guterra bite from Florida is a great example of why boots on the ground journalism
still matters in our digital age.
And when you read Mark's story on the cruises to motion, you will get plenty of firsthand
observations on what led to this decision.
My quick reaction from Marilyn meanwhile is this totally stunned.
Impaltybony is making a statement.
Whatever your pedigree was under a previous front office,
that does not matter for the organization moving forward.
I'm stunned because this feels like a drastic move for a rebuilding team that is not
blessed with tons of depth and focusing a lot on spring training results.
I do however understand the reason this has worked for plenty of guys over time.
But man, is it a tough pill of swallow that Paul schemes is the best picture on the planet.
And the number two pick behind them is going to be spending April in upstate New York.
Cruise finishes injury plague 2025 season with just a 208 batting average in a 631 OPS.
Nothing to write home about of course.
But nobody can say they saw this coming in October or November of last season.
My guest for the Nats outfield on opening day, Jacob Young,
Dale and Lyle, and James Wood.
Robert has to the third also won't be at Wrigley Field alongside Dylan Cruz.
He's going to be starting the season in Rochester.
On Friday, another former Nats first round pick was set to AAA in Jackson Rutledge.
This feels like his absolute last chance with the organization,
the one that drafted him in the summer of 2019.
We've back with you on Wednesday morning for our season preview.
Monday, I will be at Nashville's Park for their exhibition game against the Orioles.
If you're playing on attending, shoot me an email.

I'll try and combine, say hello.
Year six of Natschat, here we go.
Talk soon, everyone.
And another O2, swinging a fly ball to center.
Cruz is going back, still going back.
He squares up, gets twisted around, and he makes the catch.
Cruz stabbed it over his head after he got twisted around some.
But he didn't lose his balance and he caught it
as he got the warning track in center field.
Good job, Mike Cruz.
