Eagles Restructure Kicker's Contract, Aim for Accuracy

The Philadelphia Eagles are tweaking their salary cap this offseason and General Manager

Howie Roseman just restructured Kicker Jake Elliott's contract. It's a smart move that

gives Elliott a fully guaranteed $5 million while cutting the team's cap hit by nearly

a quarter million dollars. Roseman has been busy all offseason, resigning players, adjusting

deals, and adding void years to new contracts to create more breathing remunder.

Last season, Elliott had a rough year, missing eight kicks in total, including seven

field goals and one extra point. That kind of inconsistency stood out for a guy who's usually

steady. What worried fans most was his long-range accuracy. He went just four out of eight from

50 yards or more, a spot where he's been reliable in the past. Elliott hopes to bounce back

strong next season, and the Eagles desperately need that dependable leg to stay in contention.
