Eagles Sign Tight End Stone Smartt for 2026 Season

The Philadelphia Eagles are bolstering their tight-end group by signing veteran stone smart to a one-year deal for the 2026 season. The four-year pro joins from the New York Jets where he played last year after three seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers. Earlier this off season, the Eagles have been busy at the position, bringing back Dallas Go Dare and Grand Calcutera while also adding Johnny Munt. General manager Howie Roseman has talked about evolving the tight-end role to include more diverse skills, mixing blockers and receivers. Smart brings an interesting background as a former college quarterback who switched to tight-end in the pros. His best year came in 2024 with the Chargers when he caught 16 passes for 208 yards. Last season with the Jets, his role shrank to just seven catches for 52 yards on offense, plus time on special teams. Still, Philly sees potential in him as a training camp project.
