Hello and welcome to the Early Mail Podcast for 2020, 20, 26, around three. My name is
Max Briden. I'm here to bring you your quick hit of Superco Studios on a Monday to help you
start your planning for the week. Now, those who joined us last year for the Early Mail
Podcast would be familiar with the old format. We've got a new one this year.
Instead of going through a game by game and giving you all of the predicted early mail,
we're going to give you two quick sets of six. The first one will be focused on the biggest parts
of Early Mail and the impact to Supercoach. And the second set of six is going to be focused on
the top six waivers for your draft side of the week. So without further ado, let's dive into
the first set of six, the biggest pieces of news from Early Mail. Attack one. Coming out of New
Castle Knights, we've got Dylan Brown and Kaelin Ponga, both said for a multi weeks on the
sideline, which we'll see Fletcher Sharp return in the halves at the Knights. They had been hopes
that Fletcher Sharp may be playing at fullback in place of Kaelin Ponga. But with the unfortunate
and untimely injury to Dylan Brown, it's more likely that he's going to be returning at five eighth
partnering stand and Smith with Fletcher Hunt playing fullback for the New Castle Knights. Ponga,
early indications are looking at a six to eight week absence on the sideline,
with Dylan Brown looking at three to four weeks on the sideline with an MCL injury to his knee.
Second tackle, sour cherry, Bronson dropped for two Wala. And the news coming out of Canary,
Bangstamp, Aldox has ride center Bronson cherry, dropped a new seawirls cup this week.
The nary to Wala preferred in his place. Bronson cherry has threatened to leave the club,
but it's going to be currently staying as it stands. And as there won't be potential implications
here for Mitchell Wood, a future half-back prospect, who could be called in the first grade with
Matt Burton playing center, but as it currently stands, Burton will remain at five eighth and a
nary to Wala will move to right center, keeping that left edge pairing of Jacob Carraz and Steven
Crodden in tact. At tackle three, Trent Leuero and Alec McDonald are returning this week to bolster
the storm pack, where you thought they couldn't get any better. They're working back origin
legend Trent Leuero to wear the number 13 this week with Alec McDonald to return to the bench.
The injury as well to Sean Bloor is set to see out of all of the sartee and Jo Chan keep
their big minute roles in the second row as well. And tackle four, it's over the New Zealand
Warriors, we've got Lecker, Hallacena, set to hold a starting edge spot with Kurt,
Capewell having injured his calf in the warm-up in round two. So Lecker started playing 80 minutes
on the edge, he had 16 bass and power and scored two tries to go over the ton. And while there
were some fears that Marotta Newcora could return and take his spot on the starting side,
as it currently stands, Newcora returned via prop in Newsewell's Cup. There's more likely to come
either into the middle rotation or onto the bench with Lecker big chance to hold down a big
minute role and be a very viable prospect in both classic end draft this week if he's available
in your league. Fifth tackle, Taylor May set for scans, which we'll see, Makacini locked into
the centres at the Tigers. Taylor May lasted just more than 10 minutes this week and the Tigers
big victory over the North Queen's and Cowboys. With his change, likely to see him,
Makacini locked into the centres and Sonoya Taruva playing right centre with Jorail Skeleton
on the right wing. So that back five now of Bula Lecker, Luke Lallilly, Jorail Skeleton,
a lot of experience coming up against a tough match off the south, but unfortunately if we're
rookie Makacini we do want to see him on the wing, but he looks like he is going to be locked
into the centres for the time being. And for the sixth tackle of the set, Jaden Campbell pushing
for a return at the desperate Titans. Yes, it's exactly what they need. Their star half-back set to
return this week and place Lockhe Elias back to the bench. We expect to hear more out of the
Titans and his prognosis later this week, but all indications are that the round three return
could be on. Into the second set of six, the top six waiver picks of the week at number
six from the West Tigers. We've got Alex Twill. He is starting at lock again this year,
but in the last two seasons he's had more offloads in his entire career. He had six on the weekend,
and he looks like to be a safe 60 score and available at front row forward and second row forward.
He's looking like a very decent pickup who will get you reliable scores in your draft team.
At pick number five, we've got Fletcher Hunt. He's set for about six weeks in the full-back
jersey for the Newcastle Knights. Both two games there last year and scored in the mid-40s. He
scored 70 on the weekend though, and if Newcastle Knights have found their attack even though they
will be missing a few guns, he could be a decent option, particularly because you can plug him into
your CTW as well. At number four, from this George Dragons, it's Moses Sully. Sully was all the
tall compresses and classic just because of how many more points were added to his average with the
new scoring system. Well, things are coming to fruition. He had two tries this on the weekend,
and with his normal bass and power over around the early 40s, he's looking like a decent pickup with
a very juicy draw for this and George Dragons with four great games coming up in a row.
At number three, it's the second row up from the Dolphin, Sully Kefru Fino Fuyaki.
He's played only minutes for most of last year, but this year he's really gone to another level
huge bass and power and tries and back-to-back week sees him as the leading second row scorer in the
game at the moment and still available in more than 50% of leagues. You can do a lot worse than to
get him, particularly with the Dolphin, having a nice match-up this week up against the
Sharks, where he'll be running at Braden Trindall. And at number two, it's Big Sam Fino from the West
Tigers. He's, I dare say, he's only available just because of that ran one by, but he looks fit
this year, which he wasn't for most of last year and looks to have gone to a whole another level.
Squared a ton in his first game this week, he's got a great partnership with Jerome Luai.
He averaged close to 60 to end the season last year when he was finally fit and Galvan left the
team and he sort of had a really great relationship with Jerome Luai. But if he's available in your
league, then well done, I think you'll be very happy with his return, so most of the year.
And the number one waiver pick for the week, it's Lecker Halle Seymour from the New Zealand Warriors
that injury to Kurt Capewell has set to see him unavailable at least for this week and it could
be longer with a calf. And if he's getting 80 minutes on an edge, then sign me up because he could be
one of the top 10 players of the position. If not a whole lot higher, such is his attacking potential.
And his base and power was up really high as well on the weekend. That's it for the
only mile podcast for round three and we'll see you again next week.
