Ebb and Flow: Art Along the Animas

0:00So the creative process behind me right now is actually a bunch of pieces of my work and I had some friends that owned this property that confronted me asking me if I could do the mural and so I kind of piece together different pieces that I thought were fun. My name is Matt Clark and I originally started out as a strictly analog collage artist working with vintage magazines and old media and then I kind of evolved from that working more in the graphic realm with my own drawings and so it's kind of a combination of both collage and graphic illustration. So I didn't work alone on this project. All the original art is all my work. I collabed with Parker Ledford and he's an amazing artist specializes in murals and large graffiti and large structures. So him and I collabed on the piece. We wanted to have something that fit all the generations. So we have King Kong battle,

1:04we have the skier snowboarder. I did the bow on the rainbow for a past pride festival. So we tried to collaborate and make sure that all the pieces kind of brought the town together. The background is all topography of the animus river and that was inspired by Parker Ledford to kind of fill in that space behind my work which makes it the ebb and flow and the name for it. My hope is that when people come down on the river this year they'll be able to see it and then they can maybe say hey I'm there I'm that topography piece and it's just something that people can have fun with.
