Ecuador's President Noboa accused of murder

On February 25, 2026, in a Spanish court, Wilmer Chavarria, known as People,

leader of an Ecuadorian criminal organization, declared that Ecuador's

current president, Daniel Noboa, ordered the assassination of former presidential candidate,

Fernando Villavicencio, claiming that this information came from an insider within Noboa's

inner circle, warned him that Noboa feared losing the election. Chavarria claims the original plan

was to extradite him so he could falsely confess and implicate Rafael Correa, former president of Ecuador,

a man the gangster says he has never met. When he refused to cooperate, the plan allegedly collapsed.

lied to her and manipulated her into blaming Correa for the murder to influence the election.
