Most of the things going on obviously for agency is one of the biggest stories in the

land right now, but we're going to talk a little bit more about the NFL draft.

Kansas City landed, Kenneth Walker, they also landed a deep at the tackle on its safety.

So it kind of changes the thought processes to what maybe some of their needs are.

I'm Chris Clark from Chiefs Corner.

Ryan is from RGR for ball NFL 33 and Rogan Elitics, but we're going to dive into what could

Kansas City do at 9 and 29 and we're going to look at 9 to start off with.

To me, this is a big question.

I keep looking at Mox and I keep seeing the guy that I wish was going to be there, gone

at like seven or eight and that's Ruben Bay.

So at this point, I don't know that I really feel like they can get him unless they are

willing to trade up to go get him, but you have to wonder what other positions are really

available for the Chiefs to really be considering at 9.

It is definitely edge first and foremost because that top tier is just that good.

So that's definitely there.

And I think you have to lean on this this class and now that we take Rodney back off the

board, could they draft a running back in this class?

They certainly could.

I can will.

I don't think they'll do it before day three at this point.

Correct.

But it certainly isn't going to be at 9 or 29.

So even if Jeremiah LaFell, I think the reason that they signed Kenneth Walker is because

they weren't ready for that as a rookie.

They want to hit the ground running.

So I don't think that would even happen.

But is there a chance that somebody doesn't see the transition for all of the race that

I see?

Is there a chance that somebody doesn't think that he's a top eight pick?

And they leave him there at 9, grab him and run to the podium, right?

Not a question to me.

Even though he's not a spags fit, he's too good an athlete to let go.

And he's too good a pass rusher to let go.

So I do think he is still in there.

But you're right.

He Ruben Bain, David Bailey, very likely to be gone.

So I go back and lean on what's the next most valuable thing you can add that has potential

here?

And it comes down to quarterback and wide receiver for me.

Yes, there's Caleb Downs.

Another safety.

They just hired just signed a free agent.

So I don't think you can do that with your first pick.

Yes, you lost Leo Shenan.

If sunny styles is there, you have to think about that.

Yes.

But is that as impactful as a corner or a wide receiver, especially in this offense?

Even with Taekwam Thornton back, I don't think so.

So I do think it is still edge, then corner, then wide receiver.

And the fallback position for me would be offense attack.

To round that out and get a right if you could, if nothing else is there, but obviously

trade back.

Yeah.

And the other one that I would like to throw, we kind of talked about this a little bit

yesterday, but I do want to throw out there because I did hear a rumor that the

cheese or at least interested, uh, King and Sedeek would be another one that's, I think

you could put there at the bottom of the list.

I know you wouldn't want to take him in nine.

But if you can't get value for a trade back, you're not going to get a chance to get

somebody like that very often.

I've been simulating this quite a bit lately, um, if they, if they could get back down,

but not drop below 15, I think they can do exactly that.

And I personally have come around on heaping as good as a wide receiver prospect at this

point, knowing that Tate is likely gone.

And so you're really probably picking between Tyson lemon.

Tyson's got some injury history.

Lemon's got some other issues.

So for me, I, I think that's comparable, especially for this office.

So like say they trade back with the Rams, say, beach already has it set up to trade

back.

Yeah.

He's like, Hey, I'm stuck.

You want to come up to nine?

I'll go to 13.

Everybody's happy.

I would consider sitting there at that point as well.

Yeah.

It's value.

And like you said, it's almost like taking a wide receiver, uh, because he has that type

of skill set.

Obviously he's playing tight and that is something that this office absolutely desperately

needs is somebody to take the mantle from Travis Kelsey in this office and take it forward.

So definitely something that I would think that they should be looking at.

All right, so let's jump into 29.

This is a little bit new to us because obviously the termict of future age just happens.

So at this point, where are you looking?

Obviously, it depends on what they do at nine, could change what they do at 29.

And in some ways, in some positions, maybe it doesn't edge, edge, edge, edge, edge, edge.

Right?

I mean, unless Bane falls, unless Arvel falls, you're not going to have that nine.

This is the next best spot.

So who's after the big three?

Arvel Reese is my number one edge, followed by Bailey and Bane.

All of them very, very tight because Reese is such a projection.

After that, it's a little bit thin.

The last two of what I see is blue chip type prospects are mess it or it's a little bit

older and just slightly above him, I have TJ Parker from Clemson.

Now, I know everybody's upset about the last time she took a hedge from Clemson.

Sorry, we'll get make sure he lines up on sides, okay?

But I think TJ is a guy that fits bag system, maybe of the five of them, maybe the best because

he does have the length and he does have the anger and he does have the ability to play

through power yet he's got a little bit of speed as well.

So he's the guy that I'd be looking at at 29 and hope that he survives that long.

He and message or two guys that could be there could be gone for picks before or could

be sitting there at 40.

I doubt either in them last to 40 at this point, so 29's got to be the spot.

But if they're both gone, then I think value starts to turn a little bit and I look at

the offensive line before they get out of the first round.

Where are you looking at offensive line?

For me, whoever's going to fall has to be somebody that can do a couple of different things,

right?

If I was going to go up top, I do think that Freelings probably going to be right around

this area.

Now he's a super huge man.

He doesn't really fit the zone balanced offense as much, but he tested like a much better

athlete that he looks like on film and he is young as all get out.

He's got a ton of learning to do.

So if you're talking about bringing someone in that doesn't have to be the starter, if you're

going to let Jalen more begin there and he's going to be an heir apparent for a year

and learn the game at the pro level instead of learning it back at Georgia, I think I

could get behind that.

The other thing that I would look at is the interior and the defensive line, particularly

Kaden McDonald, who's my number one defensive tackle.

So you're still looking at defensive tackle even though they went out and signed a defensive

tackle.

Obviously, they still need they still need help there.

I think that they needed probably a couple of defensive tackles.

They need several defensive ends.

I am curious though.

It's funny because of the name, I'm just I'm curious because of this.

What about a guy like Casey Conception as a wide receiver at 20 and a yep, sep show?

I don't have that high agree on it.

Yeah, you know, no, it makes sense.

I just don't have that high a grade on him.

From what I've seen, he's more of a 40s, maybe into the high 30s, but 29 is a little

rich for me.

I would look at like a second corner, like Colton Hood from Tennessee, who's McCoy's

other half, right?

I would look at him first.

I would look another tackle that is very similar to Frieling, very, very athletic, tested

well, but doesn't have that like volume of work is, yeah, Ian, Ian Kenor, I think is

how you say that?

Ian Encore.

Yeah.

That's how you say that.

So I think he'd be an option there as well.

I'm just looking.

If there's anybody else, I mean, if you really felt like there was going to be a run and

Mestor's gone and Parker's gone, I think it's too rich for Zion Young, I would target him

at like 40, but I think it could be something where you maybe are stuck in a position like

you were at the extent that you go to Zama or you got to reach a little bit.

Yeah, and that's something you don't want to be doing, but in this draft, I really don't

know that you have much of an option.

The other thing that you maybe considering at that point is there did Simpson go off

the board.

And the whole reason I say that is because if he's not off the board at that point, maybe

there's somebody at the front of the second round that wants to come up and get him because

they want the fifth year option.

So 29 could be a very valuable pick.

Maybe you can get something extra in that scenario.

Lots of different things that could go and play into this and I'm going to be very

curious to see what the chiefs end up doing at nine and at 29, a lot of different things

that they could do.

And I will say this, we have talked about edge a ton.

And the one thing that I will say, I know people are going to say, well, you just got

rid of McDuffy and Watson, you need to go get a corner.

I don't necessarily disagree with that, but I would say if you can go find edges and

another defensive tackle that can get after the run or sorry, get after the passer, you're

in a much better position because without necessarily having to take a corner early, because

you're going to be able to get after the passer and you're going to make the corner's

job easier, regardless of who you're able to draft.

Yeah, that's true.

I will also say this, there is possibility of 29 to get a trade partner.

If somebody, you know, the Jets just just acquired you on Smith, that's not a long-term solution.

Maybe there's somebody who wants to come up into the first.

If the Cardinals don't take a quarterback as they should not, with their third pick,

they might be somebody trying to come back in and now the Cardinals may be nervous.

Yeah.
