在1611年時，他的首任老婆 B. Müller（芭芭拉·穆勒）去世，二年後，他準備再娶。
我們日常中常聽到『下一個人會更好』。然而克卜勒發揮科學家的精神，在擇偶的條件上，他列出了多項參數，力求找出人生完美的伴侶。於是克卜勒進行一連串的再婚活動，一共與11位女士相親，身為一位科學家，他把每次相親過程都寫下了詳細的筆記，就像現在的研究生認真紀錄實驗結果。
