19世紀世紀的「實證主義」哲學家孔德主張：人類永遠不能知道「太陽」是由甚麼物質構成的，因為無法登上太陽採樣，所以只能以「查無實證」結案。
聽起來很合乎科學研究的精神，不過卻遭到火速打臉！
德國物理學家「夫朗和斐」利用光柵觀測太陽光光譜時，發現除了觀測到紅、橙、黃、綠等等以外，其中還具有574條黑線。
太陽光光譜中的黑線是由特定波長的光被吸收後導致的。
透過分析這些黑線，不用登上太陽採樣，便能知道太陽是由甚麼物質組成的！
