Katya Echazarreta was born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico until the age of 7, after which her family moved to California, USA. She had a difficult first few years, having to learn English while starting elementary school. Graduated from UCLA Katya Echazarreta is the first Mexican-born woman and one of the youngest women to fly to space, thanks to the non-profit Space for Humanity. She was selected from over 7,000 candidates from over 120 countries. Join us as we get to know more of her roots, her inspirations and what she’s doing to “echarle ganas.” Now traveling with McDonald’s to inspire young Latinos in pursuit of stem careers and advocating for the McDonald’s Hacer Scholarship.
