Ep. 43: Palliative, Integrative, Self-Care, and Slow Medicine; Meet Dr. Kris August

Dr. Kris August graduated from Colorado State University in 1991 and has had an integrative housecall practice in Ames, Iowa for over 17 years focusing on geriatrics, palliative and end-of-life care, and Western herbal medicine. She writes, lectures, and teaches courses on topics of Western herbal and integrative medicine, hospice and palliative medicine, and self-care. Dr. August was a co-author of the original 2013 IAAHPC guidelines and has two chapters in the updated textbook for the IAAHPC certification course - Hospice and Palliative Care for Companion Animals: Principles and Practice due out in spring 2023. Kris is a veterinarian, herbalist, educator, mom, scientist, and nature nerd who values self-care and "slow time" for all!
