「山上住著一對父子，小男孩叫瓦納，平常爸爸都在外面工作，瓦納會跟住在隔壁的小女孩貝拉一起玩。有一天，瓦納和貝拉在家，突然有人敲門。打開門後，門外沒有人，但遠遠的看到瓦納的爸爸朝著山上跑去，兩人追了上去。
貝拉跑在前面，瓦納跑在後面。瓦納追上後推了貝拉一把，天空下起大雨，瓦納的視線模糊，接著撿起了一根棍子跟一顆大石頭，喊著貝拉一起回家。傍晚，當瓦納的父親終於回家時，發現瓦納與貝拉都已經死在了床上。請問發生了什麼？」
