Episode 11 - Amityville

Ope, A Ghost

About this episode

The things that went on at 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, New York have become the stuff of legend. The Amityville story has spawned almost forty films and documentaries. The story begins on November 13, 1975 with the murder of the DeFeo family and ends on January 13, 1976 with the Lutz family fleeing in terror. What really happened that caused a family to flee their home after only twenty-eight days? How accurate is the 1977 book by Jay Anson? Did the movie overdramatize the haunting? In this episode, we attempt to answer these questions by looking at what the book and movies say compared to what the Lutz children say. Somewhere in the middle lies the truth.
