Episode 146: Two Years 146 Episodes. One Mission. Knowledge Is Power.

On August 28, 2026, Hot House with Richie Ray celebrates two unforgettable years of education, advocacy, personal truth, and rank-and-file solidarity.

What began on August 28, 2024, with Richie Ray sittingbehind a microphone and admitting that he was “just trying this out” has grown into a national platform containing more than 140 episodes devoted to the lives, rights, struggles, and future of city letter carriers. This anniversary episode takes the audience through that entire journey—from the earliestworkroom-floor conversations and “Knowledge Is Power” training programs to emotional therapy sessions, national candidate interviews, union roundtables, safety discussions, OWCP education, grievance training, the National ConventionDiary, and the growing movement for accountability and change inside the NALC.

Richie revisits the lessons behind the episodes: how carriers can protect themselves with PS Forms 3996 and 1571; how Weingarten rights operate during investigatory interviews; why projections can never replace actual street conditions; how stewards build grievance files capable of surviving every stage of the procedure; why safety includes extreme heat,robberies, harassment, fatigue, stress, and mental health; and why Table 2 inequality, delayed grievances, inadequate training, and declining morale threaten the future of the craft.

The episode also honors the carriers, stewards, branchofficers, trainers, activists, podcasters, retirees, injured workers, and national candidates who trusted the Hot House with their experiences. Each conversation became more than podcast content. Together, they created an educational record of what letter carriers were living through during one of the most consequential periods in modern NALC history.

But this anniversary is not only a celebration of the past. It is a call to action for the future. With the 2026 NALC national election approaching, Richie reminds every eligible member that the ballot will help determine the future of bargaining, contract enforcement, grievance processing, safety, education, regional representation, financial accountability, and the relationship between national leadership and the rank and file.
