Episode 18: Comparison is the Thief of Joy

About this episode

I have lived in 7 states and worked in several others. Utah is , BY FAR, the most competitive state I have ever lived in.

In this episode I talk about the devastating effects and inaccurate the nature of comparison is. How Pride is competitive in nature and gets no joy in having something, only having more than someone else. I discuss where I have struggled and continue to struggle with certain aspects of pride. The difference between letting others motivate me to accomplish things, and my motive for accomplishing something to be better than them and the devastating effects of deriving you’re worth through looks, money, and power. How pride continues to manifest in my life and the tools I use to center myself and focus on where I derive my worth, which removes the element of competition.  The tricky process of not defining success as the world defines it. And lastly, how my faith centers me not to fear what man can do, not to worry about being judged, and how I have and am continuing to find peace.
