For anyone who has experimented with plant medicines & psychedelics, you know exactly what I mean when I state that these experiences can be delivered with their fair share of challenges. For many newbies, this is what they fail to recognize & ultimately why they end up allowing a challenging experience to be cast as a “bad” experience. When people ask me for tips on how they can come to view these challenges as positive, rather than negative, no subject comes to mind & heart quicker than that of mind & body regulation. Having the inner-standing of how to control your breath, nervous system response & subsequent thoughts stemming from our nervous system response has been, speaking for myself, the most beneficial way to shape my own meaning out of my plant medicine ceremonies, regardless of what I experience during the ceremony.
