The jury breaks for deliberation in the Lindsey Clancy case. The butcher of Bosnia has died in UN custody and Trump makes it official. Lake Ontario is now Lake America. I'm daily wire executive editor John Bickley with Georgia Howe. It's Thursday, August 27th. This is Evenu Wire. The fate of Lindsey Clancy is now in the hands of 12 jurors after closing arguments on Thursday. Daily Wire reporter Lyndon Blake has more. Arguments wrap this morning in jurors now have to sort through the arguments and evidence to determine what happens to Clancy, the 36-year-old mother who strangled her own children to death. Here's a bit from the prosecution. She killed them and she left them there on the floor with the bands around their neck. She didn't bring them up to their beds and put them with their favorite stuffed animal and cover them up gently and lovingly, leaving them peacefully there. No, she left them discarded on the basement floor like broken toys. And here's Clancy's defense team blaming Clancy's actions on bad medicine.

This is a prosecution that has ripped the soul out of this girl. This is what they had. This is their family. How does this turn into this? How? Because of the damn medicine and the lousy medical care that she got. Judge Sullivan gave the jury five options to choose from for their verdict. Not guilty, not guilty by reason of insanity, guilty of murder in the first degree, guilty of murder in the second degree, and manslaughter. He also praised jurors and the attorneys for their dedication on a case like this, calling it quote, emotionally taxing, intellectually challenging, and physically exhausting. The brutal warlord known as the Butcher of Bosnia, Rocco Molotich, has died at the age of 84. Authorities arrested him in 2011 in a UN Tribunal Senate's Tindalife in prison in 2017.

He spent his final years in UN custody in the Hague, Netherlands. He was sentenced to life for atrocities committed during the ethnic war that broke out in Bosnia in the 1990s. During that war, Molotich led Serbian forces against the non-Serve factions. He took control of part of the region to form a Serbian state while he boasted about being a quote, Serbian god who directed his troops to scorch the brains of Bosnian Muslims. The conflict left 100,000 dead in over 1 million homeless. Flash floods on the border of Nepal and China have killed hundreds while thousands more are missing. Daily wire contributor Tim Pierce has the latest. The latest figures from Nepal report at least 900 people missing and around 390 dead. In Tibet, on the Chinese side of the border, about 560 are missing and three are dead, but it's not clear if there is any crossover in the number between those two governments. Included in those numbers are hundreds of foreign tourists caught in the disaster. The Nepalese government said that at least 704 of us had been reported missing from dozens of countries, including from the US.

The State Department confirmed that it is aware that Americans are missing after the floods, though it did not give a precise number. Missouri's deputy attorney general who was missing for six days after seeking to summit Wyoming's tallest peak has been found alive. Reporter's actual has a story. Search crews found Sean McElprang and his brother near Scott Lake in Wind River range on Wednesday. They had disappeared last week after they set out to climb the highest peak in Wyoming's mountains. Searchers found McElprang disoriented and dehydrated and took him out of the back country by helicopter. His brother, Ramel, told authorities that he had been working through climbing the highest peaks in all 50 states and that Wyoming was number 45. He said his brother made the peak with him, but after being lost for days, Ramel wasn't sure how much longer the deputy attorney general could make it, suggesting that rescue crews found the pair just in time. The upcoming film Primetime based on Chris Hansen and his show to catch a predator is causing drama apparently as Chris Hansen had nothing to do with it.

Associate producer Garrett Van Team has the story. With just a month before the release of A24's Primetime, a dramatized account of Chris Hansen's rise to fame on the show to catch a predator, many are pointing out how odd the trailer seems to paint the famous journalist played by Robert Pattinson. The film's depiction of Hansen makes him seem weirdly obsessive. The game focused cruel to staff, potentially sociopathic, and all of it is seen through a hazy 2000's video filter that only adds to the unsettling vibe. And as it turns out, the real life Chris Hansen had nothing to do with the production, having learned about it only after it finished. Hansen called the film a quote, work of fiction that never took place, and questioned how they could honestly tell the story of the hit show, quote, without having talked to anyone involved. Further drama ensued when Hansen denied an invitation to a screening of the finished film after the studio allegedly attempted to have him sign his likeness in name rights away. The studio quickly rebutted the claim, arguing it was a normal, non-disclosure agreement

commonly used for early screenings. Reports then came out of a big advertising push from Hansen's current true crime streaming service, True Blue, with ads set to show specifically before the film. News will be met with the real Hansen on screen saying, quote, I'm going to need everyone in the theater to take a seat right over there. Well played, Mr. Hansen. Well played. Good, good golf, a youth-focused golf brand with major retail and sponsorship ties. Face swift backlash after an ad showed co-founder Garrett Clark, shoving fellow golf creator Alexis Mastowski to defend his new club, a good, good branded Callaway quantum max driver. The ad was intentionally supposed to be a parody of the hit horror film obsession, but its reaction saw retailers like Dick Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy pull its merchandise. A golf channel show was then delayed and then the PGA tour hinted that its sponsored tournament might be canceled.

Callaway initially deflected blame before admitting it did actually approve the ad, and PGA tour CEO Brian Rollup called the response, quote, defensive and late. Outkixie and Miller argues that the ad deserved criticism but says the punishment is wildly disproportionate, especially since Callaway faces no similar fallout. The Environmental Protection Agency announced two new methods today to reduce animal testing for chemical toxicity, keeping the agency on track to eliminate mammal testing by 2035. One method updates how the EPA evaluates whether chemicals commonly found in cleaning products can irritate the lungs while the other uses a formula-based approach to assess pesticide risks from known chemical mixtures without testing the final blend on animals. The EPA first committed to reducing mammal testing under the Trump administration in 2019, but the Biden administration later abandoned those targets which EPA administrator Lee Zeldin revived in January. Animal rights groups praised the latest move, saying the new methods could spare hundreds

of rabbits, rats and mice from experiments involving chemical exposure. Another health-related news a new day has dawned in the cereal aisle as General Mills announced the removal of certified colors from their entire U.S. product line. Lifestyle reporter Lauren Bear has the details. Certified colors, also known as synthetic color additives, a staple of American cereal for decades, will be entirely removed from the General Mills lineup by the end of the year. This includes pantry favorites like tricks, lucky charms, and the seasonal monster cereal lines. While less affected by the vibrant color loss, Cheerios, Cinnamon Toes Crunch, Reese's Puffs, and several others will also see certified colors removed. Now, General Mills previously tried removing these color additives from tricks, but backpedaled the second kid started choosing more colorful options, offering a quote classic version both in stores and online, which was packed with red 40, yellow 6, and blue 1.

Yuck. But it seems they are phasing it out once again and hopefully this time indefinitely. I can practically hear RFK Jr laughing. Mwah-haha-haha. A California mother was arrested this week after allegedly smashing a school bus window and climbing inside to confront the driver during a disturbance. The Calaveris County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded on August 24 after a parent broke glass while striking the bus door, prompting the vandalism arrest. Officials haven't confirmed the woman's identity. Video obtained by CBS News Sacramento shows the bus growing rowdy enough that the bus driver pulled over. KCRA3 said the bus had stopped when another student climbed out through the window, and students were told to remain on the bus for about an hour waiting for authorities. Video then shows a woman climbing through the window to confront the driver before leaving. The district's superintendent said the incident stemmed from a student behavior issue and praised the driver for staying calm and following protocol, and said the district is disciplining the students involved. And the president has made it official.

Lake Ontario is to be renamed Lake America. Trump signed an executive order this morning renaming the Great Lake, declaring the change, quote, effective immediately as trade tensions with Canada boil over. Speaking in the Oval Office, Trump said his administration had filed all necessary paperwork and notified relevant officials, and he accused Canadian leaders of treating U.S. farmers unfairly with steep tariffs, labeling them, quote, nasty people. The White House also released a revised map of the Great Lakes, reflecting the new name. The order follows Trump's earlier renaming of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, and he joked that with a gulf in a lake now claimed, the Atlantic or Pacific might be next. Those of your drive home updates this evening to learn more about these stories, go to dailywire.com. And in case you missed it earlier today, we covered some major stories, including meta-agreting to pay out 18 billion to states in the largest ever tech settlement, sudden catastrophic flooding in Nepal sweeping away hundreds of people, including dozens of Americans, and the Trump administration taking action on immigrant visas
