Next chapter podcast. In February of 2024, celebrated illustrator and children's book author, Patre Mathers and her husband Michael mailed letters to dozens of friends and family members to let them know they had died by suicide. Dear Hunnies, this is goodbye. By the time you get this letter, both Petra and I will be dead. Next stop, Wonderland. Why did they do it? And what did it do to the people they left behind? Listen to Death to an Artist wherever you get your podcasts. Oh no, I set the wrong alarm. I'm gonna be late for season two of Everybody Knows But Me. The 90s inspired talk show where people share their fucked up family stories and secrets, just like I did in season one. Okay, got my clueless VHS, my beanie babies, and my Jurassic Park Barber Soul can.

And what was that opening monologue again? Oh yeah! What I realized after sharing my dad's deathbed confession about his secret family was that so many people out there have lived similar experiences. The trauma club is huge! Ooh, that was good. Where is my power suit with the big shoulder pads? Turns out, every family has at least one season that should have never made it past the writer's room. And talking about it might actually help us heal. So in the grand tradition of Jerry Springer and Phil Donahue, except maybe without big glasses and questionable hair, it's time to share some stories wild enough to make a daytime TV viewer in the 1990s spill their jolt cola. So I go to my mom and I say, hey, I have this woman saying that we share this amount

of DNA. Do you know anything about your parents? Somebody in our family decided to do ancestry.com or as I like to call it, ancestry.com. We know what you did. It took me a long time to just say my dad died without feeling it and remembering it. Oh, shit, I just spilled my jolt cola. I am totally buggin' right now. Oh, okay. Monologue. Check. What would Oprah do? Ooh, you get a car and you get a car. Hey, Holly, how's it going? How are you doing? Hey! Producer, Pete, you are not the father. What the hell are you talking about? 90s talk show vibes? Check. Alright, folks.

It's time to make the jump from sitcom story to talk show glory as I take on Regis, happily Ricky Lake and the rest by turning everybody knows but me into the podcast you come to to share your darkest family more, the like that got you through it, and hopefully have a few laughs while we do. Check out season two of everybody knows but me wherever you get your podcasts. Next chapter podcasts.
