Exposing Islam & Reaching Muslims: Session 3 of 3 (Tony Gurule)
About this episode
After learning what Islam is and why it matters, this session pivots to mission. Attendees will learn practical tools for engaging Muslims with the Gospel, including how to answer the main objections Muslims raise about Christianity and how to share Christ with compassion. The conference ends on an outward-focused, Great Commission note. ** This conference focuses on equipping believers to understand Islam and engage Muslims with the Gospel. The three sessions build progressively: understanding what Islam teaches, why Muslims do what they do, why Islam is a threat to the West and American freedom, and practical tools for sharing Christ with Muslim neighbors. **

Okay, now you're super warmed up. So now session three we have reaching Muslims with grace and truth answering objections and sharing the gospel We as Christians have the solution to Islam If we don't share the gospel with non-Christian Sue will No one will and how many Muslims Disate and want you to share the gospel with None He wants you to share it with no one right he wants Muslims set in Islam and Believing the lies of Islam so no surprise when you have Muslim Dawagan lists like Uthman Ibn Farouk who you've probably seen in videos online Because he's talking about the Islamization of Texas and here he is spreading lies about the Bible The earliest manuscript of the New Testament you can go home look this up is in Konaig Greek the way we have it and it's from
There's there's one paper from second to third century after Jesus that's side of a credit card and then the earliest of Complete manuscripts around six to seven hundred years later So what happens when you get that type of a change you get things like this, okay? This is the genealogy of Jesus in the Bible, okay? What I've done I've actually a corner Matthew and a corner Luke will go over I've written them out Alright, so this is When we look at the Matthew in Matthew this is here when you look at Luke it's there now look at and I'll show you an actual book It says and Jacob begot it Joseph Does the husband of Mary to whom was born Jesus who is called Christ? So according to this Jesus was the son of Joseph who was the son of Jacob Excellent, right? This is there you go, okay? Now let's look at the same genealogy in
Luke 3 23 now Jesus himself began his ministry about 30 years of age Being supported as the son of Joseph the son of he lie So here Joseph is no longer the son of Jacob. He's the son of he lie It's possible that Jacob could be translated as he So great question just a question sure great question. This is why I wrote the whole thing out Okay, so you have in in Matthew going down to Jesus Joseph Jacob Mathin illazar illuid Achaim Zondak Azor you see all these names now let's go and look Jesus Joseph Heli Matat Levi Melici Jenna Joseph Totally different names how many mistranslations do they have you see even the numbers don't match here You have 43 going back to Abraham here. You have 56 going back to Abraham and the interesting thing is from
Abraham down to number 15 David is the same in both So what happens is when you had people writing down these manuscripts once they went past there They started to make addition subtractions guesses, you know, so that what happened is you end up with not the same account Because this is not the word of God preserve so those are the kinds of things that are spread it Dawah tables in addition to just trying to get naive gullible people to say the Shahada and become Muslims They're attacking the Bible and attacking Christianity and then pointing people to the Quran for the answer So what did uthman do there? He basically took the genealogy of Jesus in Matthew and of Luke and the solution to this supposed contradiction is basically knowing That the gospels were written to different audiences a Roman Gentile isn't gonna care about fulfilled Jewish prophecy
Jew isn't gonna be isn't gonna care about Gentile things Matthew's genealogy which focused on a Jewish audience and that fact that Joseph was the legal father of Jesus proves that Jesus was legal heir to the throne of King David through King Solomon And that he was a descendant of Abraham the father of the Jews through Judah son of the patriarch Jacob Luke's genealogy which focused on a Gentile audience proves that Jesus through Mary his actual mother was a blood relative of David through his son Nathan So when he realized that these genealogies were written to appeal to different people And that the gospels were written to different audiences That's the explanation for what uthman says is oh contradictory people changing names and adding a subtracting and so on No, the gospels were written to different audiences
So there's no contradiction in the genealogy when he realized who they were written to so there's top five objections that you commonly hear Out there when you go out and when you talk with Muslims again Not only are Muslims not experts on Islamic theology But they have a false view of Jesus. They have false views of Christianity and so on and the average Muslim Isn't a debater like that guy is trying to be the average Muslim Sadly the average Muslim is much more prepared to hear the gospel than the average Christian is prepared to share it And that's why we got to get Christians better equipped to just share the gospel with everyone So number one objections usually here is the Bibles corrupted and again that's something like uthman Even for rook is saying there the Bibles been changed or the Trinity is three gods you believe in three gods Or you believe the father's god? Yes, you believe Jesus's god. Yes. Do the Holy Spirit's god. Yes. Oh, you believe in three gods
All right, you believe Jesus is god, right? Yeah. Did you just die in a cross? Yeah? Well then god died. How can god die? You'll hear these different things from Muslims because again, they don't understand and number two They're attacking a straw man. They're attacking something that's false But guess what a lot of Christians don't know how to give good answers And that's what we're called to do first Peter 315 Christians are called to give a defense Always be ready to give a defense or the reason for the hope that lies within you but do with gentleness and respect And second cred the instant five were told to destroy Orients raised up against the knowledge of god and that's Islam that's other man-made religions theological cults and so on They'll say god cannot have a son. Jesus is not god and Jesus was not crucified As I mentioned earlier Quran chapter four verse 157 says Jesus did not die Now the thing is is that when we look at the the nature of special revelation and that's the bible
We have general revelation creation outside. We know there's a creator special revelation is scripture It's infallible and in errands in other words god cannot air The bible is the word of god. Therefore the bible cannot air now barred airman He's a agnostic he was a distinguished professor of religious studies at UNC Chapel Hill He studied at Moody Bible Institute wheat and college and Princeton theological seminary where he studied under the great Bruce Metzger A world-renowned bible scholar and textual critic but during his graduate studies Erman became convinced that there are Contradictions and discrepancies in the biblical manuscripts that cannot be harmonized or reconciled So he's now a prolific writer and outspoken critic of the bible and he's often quoted by atheist signostics and even Muslims and this is what he said a number of years ago There are more differences among our manuscripts than there are words in the New Testament
In other words Muslims will quote that all the time because they're saying hey the bible's been changed He says right here. There's a ton of differences More than there are words in the New Testament. So for example, this is a variance Manuscript one says Jesus Christ manuscript two says Christ Jesus That's a variance because there's a variation There's a difference there. So that is a error quote-unquote. That's a change now. Is there a change in meaning? We know exactly what it means Christ Jesus Jesus Christ. How about this one? Jesus died for our sins Jesus Dei empty space D for our sins Does that change the meaning? No, just missing a letter. But guess what? That's a variant That could have get rubbed off over time accidentally they could have just Accidentally not put the letter in there But how do we know what should be there? This is because we have one to compare it to right
It's not like we have 10,000 manuscripts of This word that only has two letters. Oh, we have nothing to compare it to. It's just missing from everything That isn't the case now Jesus died for our sins Jesus Dei blank D for our sins with two eyes Jesus space s E's missing from the died FCR Our sins does that change the meaning? No, but guess what? There's three variants there Jesus with a G died for our But use missing sins more variance Guess what the message does not change But these are the variants and if we have a thousand Mani scripts with a missing letter that's a thousand variants So you need to know how he does his math which is intellectually dishonest But guess what Muslims love to quote him not surprisingly now when we look at actual manuscripts that we have today We have many small pieces from many centuries ago that obviously have information missing right because it's one little tiny piece
Might be one word two words, but guess what we have bigger pieces with less information missing There's another piece This is a portion of the gospel of the John dated to around 125 AD Here's some more, but guess what we got missing information So missing information is considered a variance But if all that's there doesn't have anything missing there's no variance, but guess what we solve missing information in general But we have bigger pieces that we can compare that to and I want to give you a little exercise and textual criticism here And I want you to treat each of these as a different piece of paper And we're going to figure out what the original said So this is what we have left of the original who can read that sentence for everyone Kind of hard right a lot of missing information. So here's paper number two to compare it to Anyone read it yet? Once you know just say it out loud. There's paper number three Paper four was like jupgery hit
You've been in jens little training is very helpful There you go So six facts about coppiest errors No original manuscript has ever been found with an error in it Two errors are relatively rare in the copies In most cases we know which wording is wrong from the context or parallel passages In no case does an error affect any doctrine of scripture There isn't one that says oh Jesus didn't rise from the dead. That's a contradiction right if I say there's a car accident outside And you say oh how many cars were involved and I say two So when else is oh yeah, I hear about the car accident and they ask how many cars were involved in say four Like I don't know that's a contradiction It's not contradictory is complimentary Because four includes two Right if I said there were only two cars and no others and someone says there's five cars and no less That's a contradiction but people confuse contradiction with Complementary that's what's happening with a lot of these manuscripts
Errors vouch for the accuracy of the copying process since the scribes who copied them New there were errors in the manuscripts, but we're duty bound to copy what the text before them said in other words If a scribe got a paper and there was a missing letter they wouldn't make up the letter They would just copy what they had but when we have tons of manuscripts that helps us get back to that original Or as close to what is possible Errors don't affect the central message of the Bible and guess what Yes, we have many manuscripts with information missing But we have many manuscripts with nothing missing No letters missing no words missing no paper missing these right here are Complete Torah scrolls which is Genesis Exodus the biggest numbers and Deuteronomy And this is completely rolled out and this one right here survived crystal knocked in Germany When they torched synagogues and burned Taurus you never see one like this innocent a god because they just as you saw kind of in the previous one
They roll out today's reading roll it back up roll out the next day reading roll it back up This is the whole thing rolled out So today we have roughly 5,856 known Greek New Testament manuscripts We have 18,130 non-Greek manuscripts in Latin Ethiopic Slavic Armenian Syria, Coptic, etc Over 25,000 total manuscripts of the New Testament This is all languages that have been found and over 66,000 scrolls and manuscripts of the old and New Testaments combined So the Bible is the most vetted documents in the history of the world if you can't trust the Bible You can't trust any book from ancient antiquity And that doesn't include the Quran because the Quran is 600 years after Jesus died and rose from the dead We had complete Bibles before Muhammad was even born
So for the Muslim to say oh it was changed Why didn't Muhammad say to read the correct Bible because he didn't think it was incorrect Let's get back to earthman here The earliest manuscript of the New Testament you can go home look this up is in Konaig Greek the way we have it And it's from the there's there's one paper from second to third century after Jesus that's sight of a credit card And then the earliest of complete manuscripts are on six to seven hundred years later Now that's a complete lie if you know archaeology history of the manuscripts Because if we look at a timeline here we're got Muhammad being born in 570 And as I mentioned a few minutes ago we had complete Bibles before Muhammad was even born and what we need to do is also Look at other things because what happened in this time frame Right here with all these church fathers This is where the canon was discovered way before Muhammad was born
Also we have the council of hippo and the council of carthage before Muhammad was born We also want to not forget about the sub-to agent and the Dead Sea Scrolls Way before Muhammad was born and in the New Testament manuscripts We have a 99.9% accuracy out of all those thousands upon thousands of manuscripts that have been found The church fathers quoted the gospel over 19,000 times So we have Bible scripture versus found in the writings of the church fathers as well Now what we need to do is look at the Quran and see that it says That it was sent down to confirm what came before it also Ask those who read the scripture before you If you don't understand something as you can see both of these are mechan verses before he went to Medina gain the power followers and so on None can change his words and this is referring to a law from an Islamic mindset
Now Medina still confirming what came before it the scriptures he revealed before and confirming the Torah Revealed before him so nowhere here Do we get any clue that the bible's been changed? Why because it wasn't until the 11th century 1064 is the one he died Ibn Haazam who made the claim that the actual words themselves had been changed So Muhammad never said read the right bible because the bible's been changed or whatever else It wasn't until the bible started being Mass produced and read on a large scale we're saying oh Jesus died on the cross the Quran says he didn't the bible says this The Quran says this in contradiction. Oh The Islamic mindset is the bible must have been changed then because the Quran can't be false the Quran's eternal word of a law So the conclusion is the bible's been changed and that's why many Muslims today We'll say that. Oh the bible's been changed now again
We have to look at the nature of special revelation god cannot air the bible's the word of god Therefore the bible cannot air and that is where that gospel of John which I see everyone already It took off the table over there is You can have this with you in your purse in your car And you see a Muslim and store a conversation with them and ask him hey if you read the New Testament If they say no ask them why they they're going to say it's been changed or I don't have one If they say I don't have one Now you do this is for you it's a gift if they say it's been changed That's when you do apologetics letting them know that the bible is trustworthy It hasn't been changed and so on but again you can't do apologetics and give information that you don't have And that's why it's important for Christians to learn apologetics to give a defense for the hope that lies within us In addition to the gospel Because the gospel is the goal but sometimes apologetics is done before you share the gospel Or sometimes you share the gospel and they say hey, but hasn't the bible been changed over and over again
Well now then you're doing the apologetics and giving evidence that it has not been changed But again, that's why this is an evangelistic tool that can be given out to a Muslim So the Trinity is three gods Now we need to clear up this misconception on people have a lot people say Judaism Christianity in Islam are the three Abrahamic religions There's a problem with that because just as Muslims have the wrong Jesus else have the wrong Abraham They believe Abraham was a Muslim and they believe this Abraham of history It has an Islamic unpacking of it that needs to be done It's more accurate to say that Judaism Christianity Islam or the three monotheistic religions which means one god And although Muslims believe that we think that there's more one god or we worship more than one god You know what them know there is only one god did our army six four hero israel the lord hour god the lord is one But as I mentioned earlier Yaw ways a personal name a law is not just a generic for the god But another misconception that Muslims have is that they're unitarian monotheists
So they believe in one god we believe in one god, but Christian Christianity teaches Trinitarian monotheism Islam teaches unitarian monotheism or a law is just one person So I always let them know that god isn't a person God is a nature in other words if I say that god is a person Well, aren't there three persons who are god father son and holy spirit? Well, it's contradictory to say god is one person and god is three persons That is contradictory right is god one person or three persons the solution is that god isn't a person god is a nature And this is what I mean if you ask me who I am I'm gonna say Tony if you ask me Tony what are you I'm not gonna say Tony again. No, I'm gonna say I'm human And now if I have skull you your name you're gonna tell me your name. I've asked you what are you you're gonna say you're human as well So we all the same essence or nature as we discussed earlier But we have a different who-ness because we're all different people
So god isn't a who god is a what? God is a divine nature We have a finite nature So if we have god or again divine nature, we're gonna represent that by D And we ask who is god Now I'm referring to persons the father the son slash word Bible says in the beginning was the word of the word was with god the word was god 13 verses later The word became flesh and dwelt among us And we have the holy spear so we have who won who two and who three who were what God so god is a what a divine nature the most important thing to remember is that who one is what one But who one's not who two or who three Who two is what one but who two is not who one or who three And who three is what one but who three is not who one or who two Yeah, I think I have it in Castello right I always bring a picture who won first with me when I talk about the Trinity
Because that's what people usually think about so If we ask What is the father? I'm not talking about Persons talking about nature What is the father? God divine What is the son slash word? God or divine? What is the Holy Spirit? God or divine Now the second who Who two Who's what? God Took on a second what? A human nature And the bible says you shall call his name Jesus Because he will save his people from their sins So god is one what in three who's Jesus is one who in two what? Because He's man which is a nature and he's god which is a nature So when Jesus died in the cross did God die? No God is a divine nature in material
Infinite it can't die the flesh died on the cross So God can't die and when you understand that God is a nature not a person the persons or the father son in Holy Spirit You understand trinitarian monotheism one God Unitarian monotheism islam one person one God So Luke 132 and 33 says he will be great and we called the son of the most high And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David And he will reign over the house of Jacob forever and of his kingdom. There will be no end So we don't believe in three gods we believe in one god but three persons and Be able to explain that to a muslim because a muslim If like this was a Quran right here and you asked them will you're telling me the Quran's eternal But I'm holding it my hands. They'll have to admit well the Quran can ask two natures because It's eternal, but it has like a finite physical nature too. That's how you can hold a Quran in your hand
Well, guess what that's a segway for the two natures of Christ He's divine, but he's also human The person took on a second nature As we talked earlier God cannot change God didn't change He added on Right to the divine nature took so Jesus had two natures the father Didn't take on flesh the Holy Spirit didn't take on flesh So God cannot have a son and That's obviously a problem and that's the whole problem that gets back to a law and who did he love eternally? Because he has no son So that's that's an issue we got to bring up with them We want to keep the burden of proof on them and you know ask them does God know things? Yeah, he doesn't have a brain God can God knows see things he doesn't have eyes You know, why can't God have a son with no wife because that's what muslims believe they say they believe the Trinity is a Mary and Jesus but again Christianity doesn't teach that so if the Quran is denying the Trinity, but it's denying the wrong Trinity
What does that tell us that either a law wasn't the author of the Quran or a law doesn't know what the Trinity is Because it's denying a Heresy that Christianity doesn't teach so Jesus is not God, but we find in the Bible There's indirect claims to be God and direct claims the indirect claims are like shepherd first and last judge Pride-room light savior God's glory giver of life Said about God in the Old Testament said about Jesus in the New Testament Now some people think well what what do you mean if that's indirect what about the direct claims to be God Well the direct claims to be God or the exact reason why Jesus was crucified Are you the Christ the son of the blessed one? I am said Jesus and you will see the son of man sitting at the right hand of the power and coming with the clouds of heaven Then the high priest tore his clothes and said Why do we still need witnesses? You have heard the blasphemy? What is your verdict? They all condemned him at deserving death in other words the Jews knew what he was saying
That's why they want to un crucified Jesus called himself I am John 8.56-59 your father Abraham or Joyce that you would see my day He saw it and was glad So the Jews said to him you were not 50 years old and you have seen Abraham Jesus said to them truly truly I say to you before Abraham was I am so they picked up stones to throw at him But Jesus hit himself and went out of the temple So when he tell the Muslim hey because they'll ask you a time Show me where in the Bible it says I am God worship me and I'll become a Christian That's what Muslims will say now just a question for all of you If everyone knew without a doubt 100% that Jesus was God Do you think they would have actually crucified him? If they knew that he was God no What was God's plan? The father's plan was to send the son The plan was for him to die So he said just enough to be crucified But not so much that he wasn't crucified and
We'll get here in a moment to other ways that he proclaimed to be God But even right here you say yeah the Jews knew he was claiming to be God. That's why they wanted to stone him And they'll say no they they just thought he Said he was God but he wasn't so the national case so you agree with the Pharisees What's the Muslim going to say yeah, it's right? It's like they they don't realize that he's Again, they don't understand the nature. They don't understand that Jesus is God And again, they don't understand the gospel. That's what they need to understand that But also to point him to Exodus 3 13 and 14 then Moses said to God if I come to the people of Israel and say to them The God of your fathers sent me to you and they ask him what is his name? What shall I say to them? God said to Moses I am who I am and he said say this to the people of Israel. I am sent me to you And that is the same I am that Jesus is referring to there That's why they said oh you as a man Or not even 50 years old and you claim to have seen Abraham they knew he was claiming to be God
That's why they wanted to stone him Now here's the other one the term I was referring to son of man Daniel 7 13 and 14 Jesus called himself the son of man many times I saw in the night visions and behold with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man And he came to the ancient of days and was presented before him and that him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom that all People's nations and languages should serve him His dominion is an everlasting dominion Which shall not pass away and his kingdom one that should not be destroyed That's the cross reference every single time Jesus called himself the son of man What you referred to himself all the time that was acclaimed to deity So Jesus was not crucified Again most of them loved to quote dr. Bart Irman on the manuscript They never quote him when it comes to the crucifixion And we're going to get to that in a moment But first dr. Gary Habermass Distinguished research professor of apologetics and philosophy at Liberty University And his book the case for the resurrection of Jesus which was co-written by dr. Michael Acona a new testament his story
And we read there are a minimum number of facts agreed upon by practically all Critical scholars Whatever their school of thought at least 12 separate facts are considered to be knowable History number one Jesus died by crucifixion. He was buried his death caused the disciples to despair and loose hope Believing that his life was ended his tomb was empty just a few days later Disciples had experiences which they believed were literal appearances of the risen Jesus His disciples were transformed from doubters who were afraid to identify themselves with Jesus to bull proclaimers of his death and resurrection This message was the center of preaching in the early church And this message was proclaimed in Jerusalem where Jesus died and was buried 9 the church was born and grew 10 Sunday became the primary day of worship it changed from Sabbath to Lord's day The Sabbath is still Friday night to Saturday night Sundays the Lord's days they that he rose from the dead
James who had been esceptic was converted to the faith when he also believed that he saw the resurrected Jesus And a few years later Paul was converted by an experience which he likewise believed to be an appearance of the risen Jesus Again virtually all scholars agree on those 12 points So again, let's look to Dr. Bart Irman the person who Muslims love to quote He says in his book didn't Jesus exist the historical argument for Jesus of Nazareth Despite the enormous range of opinion there are several points on which virtually all scholars have antiquity agreed Jesus was a Jewish man not a Muslim known to be a preacher and teacher Who was crucified unlike the Quran which as he wasn't a Roman form of execution In Jerusalem during the reign of the Roman emperor Tiberius when Pontius Pilate was the governor of Judea One could argue as well that Jesus is the most important person in the history of the West looked at from a historical social or cultural perspective
Quite apart from his religious significance And so of course the earliest sources of information we have about him The New Testament gospels are supremely important and not just the gospels But all the books of the New Testament Again the man who Muslims loved to quote unless it comes to who Jesus was and that he was crucified So those five objections commonly brought up by Muslims yes, you may hear a different one But those are the most common if you just talk to the average Muslim and a lot of Muslims won't even bring those up Because guess what the average Muslim isn't the is not a debater the average Muslim isn't a expert on Islamic theology and The average Muslim is much more prepared to hear the gospel than the average Christians prepared to share And again, that's why Christians you just get out there and share the gospel Speaking of that Mark Stein a Canadian author and human rights activist said The most effective strategy against a resurgence of Islam may be the oldest of all
An evangelizing Christianity and that's what we should be doing as Christians Now I don't know if he's a Christian, but that certainly sounds Christianly coming to the solution of the Lies of Islam and when we go out We walk out through these doors There's three different things we can do as Christians when we talk with non Christians Evangelism apologetics and polemics Evangelisms the gospel it's a good news the good news about Jesus Christ And if that's all we do we're pointing people to Jesus and that's what we need to do at the end of the day That's the main goal is the gospel sharing that with people if you share the gospel with the Muslim They have no rebuttals. They don't accuse Christianity of anything. They don't bring up anything about the Bible great We don't do apologetics for fun We don't bring it up if they don't bring it up the gospels what they need the gospels the power of God into salvation That's what Muslims need
to hear it and to understand it and we as Christians need to be able to articulate it and explain the gospel Now sometimes you will hear some rebuttals from a Muslim From an atheist Jova's witness Mormon whoever so the apologetics that term that I used a number of times today is the defense The defense of Christianity we're giving a defense for what we believe why we believe it But guess what every apologetic or defense should lead to the gospel which leads to pointing them to Jesus And then we have polemics which is offense That's me critiquing someone else's faith So if I bring up the Quran and I use the Quran against Islam I'm doing polemics if I Defend my faith that's apologetics But just like apologetics should point to the gospel which points to Jesus Any polemics or offense critiquing Islam critiquing Mormonism the watch tower and so on
Should also point to the gospel which points people to Jesus So Sometimes we share the gospel and that's it you don't need to do apologetics. You don't need to do polemics Sometimes you're going to have to do some apologetics when necessary But every apologetic should lead to the cross Sometimes you do polemics that takes more study though Because then it's not just learning what you believe and that's the apologetics first You knowing why Christianity is true And if you say oh well, I want to reach Mormons in particular Then he starts studying Mormonism and Mormon sources like the book of Mormon purla great price doctrine and covenants and so on So that you can use Mormon sources to critique when talking with Mormons But again the gospel is the main thing The deity death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and another way that many Muslims are coming to Christ is Some of you may have heard of this dreams and visions The real Jesus is visiting Muslims and dreams And he will do this before they come in contact with the Christian
Who then confirms the dream Or the dream is a follow-up To maybe hearing the gospel from a Christian But it's interesting how Issa never visits Muslims and dreams the Islamic Jesus doesn't visit anyone It's the real Jesus who is visiting them This is a new story from 2015 Isis fighter who enjoyed killing Christians wants to follow Jesus After dreaming of man and white who told him you're killing my people So the easiest reminder when it comes to remembering that Muslims need the gospel And us as Christians in our response all you need to do is just remember islam I shall love all Muslims Because Muslims are people made in the image of God who Jesus Christ died for and again The average Muslims more prepared to hear the gospel than Christians are prepared to share it So get better at doing evangelism sharing the gospel and we're going to get more training on that very soon
But Muslims are people made in the image of God who Jesus Christ died for And we have witnessing tips as well that we want to share with you and some of those are a lot of those are shared on on our D.B. Center the flash drive and using stories or customs as bridges and again islam has rewritten History as we know it I have a 39 volume set of history according to islam Starting at creation to Adam and Eve all the way through islamic expansion From an islamic world view Because Adam was a muslim according to islam his wife was a muslim Interesting part is that Muslims don't believe in original sin And they don't understand why we need a savior and they don't think that one person could pay for someone else's sins Or is punished for someone else's sins According to the islamic world view Paradise was in heaven And when adam and his wife Send or made a mistake technically they were cast down to earth
So the question for muslims is why are we born down here like as if we're paying for their Mistake or their sin why aren't we born up there And this helps a segue to talking about how we have sin when we're born we're born sinners We have a sin nature which again they deny So again, why are we born down here? It's like as if we're paying for their sin Also, how many sins did they have to commit to get kicked out of paradise one And muslims need to understand that one sin can keep you from getting there No muslim knows how many good deeds they have versus bad deeds For all they know they could have one more bad deed than good deeds and land up in hell And also everything's in shallah anyway, right A lost capricious a lost arbitrary A muslim could do more good than bad And the lock it's still sent them to hell if he wants to Because the lock can do whatever he wants remember So the Importance of sons in islam and Explaining how God gave his only begotten son as we talked about earlier about women
boys are very highly Prize in islam The average muslim would love to have a bunch of sons rather than daughters so men are seen as greater in value and for A man to sacrifice his son then thinking Abraham again they have the wrong Abraham and his law make Abraham and asking what did Abraham do to prove his love to God and they'll say oh he was going to sacrifice his son They think it was ishmail they don't know they accurate of being Isaac but like no, you know What did God do to show his love for you? You know he gave his only begotten son So again these are the segues you can use with stories that they're familiar with Or even asking an icebreaker question like why are you a muslim? Did they're going to say I was born muslim which is an islamic World view to have everyone's born muslim They'll say oh I became muslim Two years ago and many western Muslims will call themselves reverts
We'll see how I reverted to islam Even only just became muslim say a year ago say I'm a revert And when you hear the term revert which again is always from western naïve Gollable chills for islam and they've drink the kool-aid basically and they're letting you know They've bought into that lie of this doctrine of fitra that everyone's born muslim So they say I'm a revert they're proclaiming to go back to this original state of being born a muslim And again, it's mainly westerners who say that as well. But anyway You ask a muslim why are you a muslim? Let them tell you eventually. They're going to ask you why are you a Christian? Guess what that gives you an opportunity to let them know why you're a Christian and share the gospel with them This picture right here was Joe Kerry and he was in Kenya and He was able to go into a mosque and talk with this imam And told him he goes hey goes I fear that a lot of Christians have misunderstandings about islam which of course he was right because Joe knew a lot about islam But he said I also fear that many muslims have misunderstandings about Christianity
Can you tell me what you know about Christianity so I can clear up any misconceptions that you have And this imam said I know nothing about Christianity. What do you believe? So Joe shared the gospel with the muslim and his own mosque And he says I've been a imam in this mosque for over 20 years And you're the first Christian to ever come talk with me So we wonder why islam's growing so rapidly? It says Christians aren't sharing the gospel in general Why would a Muslim be number one on your list when they could be the most intimidating people possibly to reach out to So I did the same thing when I was in a grocery store I saw a Muslim woman wearing a hijab and I again, I was like oh she's probably not going to want to talk with me But then I saw a few minutes later she was walking with a man. She said oh here's my chance So I walk over to him and as soon as he and I walk eyes and say a slum will like him He goes oh well, they go slum and we shook hands and I said hey, I'm a Christian But I love talking with muslims and I know that a lot of Christians have misunderstandings about Islam
But I also know that a lot of Muslims have misunderstandings about Christianity He told me what you know about Christianity so I can clear up any misconceptions that you have Just like Joe did with that imam And I found out that the woman the wife was a former Roman Catholic now Muslim wearing a hijab Hispanic lady married to this Muslim from Israel Who is fluent in Arabic she's not and They said in this conversation in the grocery store that they believe the bible has been changed That Jesus talked about the coming of Muhammad and they didn't understand the Trinity So in the grocery store I told them about biblical manuscripts and textual criticism and let them know the Bible hasn't been changed I let them know that Moses was talking about Jesus Jesus was talking about the Holy Spirit And then I got a pen and paper and I drew that Trinity illustration that I showed you guys And they were just soaking it up because the woman said I had never she before this she said I never understood the Trinity is Roman Catholic
And I drew it on the paper form and I think the Holy Spirit was Convicting her of her error and the fact that she went and married a Muslim guy is wearing a hijab And all of a sudden I'm giving them answers and her husband kept complimenting me to her She's like oh he knows what he's talking about so I'm about his Islamic history and stuff And then she got kind of a little flustered like I got I have to go finish shopping I said wait wait before you go and I asked him if they had a D. Me player at home and they said yeah, and I gave her a Jesus in the Quran gospel track, which we have back there at the table I give him a are you a good person Track like from Ray Comforts ministry, but it was all in Arabic and then when they said yes, we have a DVD player I gave him a a Jesus film DVD and These have lots of different languages and when you choose a language that's not subtitles You hear the whole movie in that language every actor is speaking that language So I gave that to them as well and then I told him after she took off I said
Jesus died in Muhammad Lied And I said watch this movie and I told him to read that gospel track And I said it's between you and God now and I shook his hand and he walked away And see that the thing is that the powers in the seed not the sower so God can use the track that I gave them just as much as if you gave him that track That's what we have some tracks back there for you to take because gospel tracks Or what God uses all the time I didn't grow up in a Christian home For many years I live like the world. I was in the world of the world I not only planned my sin I dove into sin and then 22 years ago. I was at work one day a customer came up to me in the store and asked me where Something was I told him is it thanks here. This is for you And he handed me what I thought was a business card, but it was a IQ test Gospel track from Ray Comforts ministry and it was just a basic brain teaser tests and I turned it over and I realized I was wrong And it says here six questions answer yes or no out loud is there a God
Does God care about right and wrong is God standards the same as the world standards Is there a hell will God punish sin and is it possible to avoid hell by living a good life And then it gave me the answers yes yes no yes yes no You can't afford to be wrong find out the truth She just Christ died for your sins the knee rose from the dead repent and put your trust in him Read your Bible daily you'll be what you read God will never let you down and then on the bottom right It's at ray comfort calm. I was like who in the world is ray comfort? It's like silly name So I went home typed in ray comfort calm took me to the way of the master where Kirk Cameron came on and said hey Is me Kirk if you're a Christian click yes if not click no there's an important part of the side I want you to see So like oh, yeah, I'm a Christian, you know, I have a Bible in the shelf over there Uh my believe in God. I'm not an atheist. So yeah, I'm a Christian So I clicked yes and I just started talking about their ministry and stuff And then I was like I wonder what happens to be clicked no So then I backed up and I clicked no And Kirk Cameron came on again saying almost everyone thinks they're a good person
The question you should be asking is am I good enough to go to heaven? How would you know the way to find out is to ask yourself a view of be the 10 commandments So let's go through them and see how you do So it brought up the first commandment. It didn't just list it it explained it and had an innocent button and a guilty button And you had to click one of them to get to the next command So by the time I went through it, I was like okay, I'm going to hell on a hand basket And then it gave me references for a hell and that God is good and he has must punish lawbreakers And I looked up these references in the Bible like man. Yeah, it does talk about hell and and then it gave the gospel And the gospel sounded like good news because I realized the bad news first I never appreciated the Savior because I never realized my need for one And if you want the gospel to sound like good news to someone you need to convince them their need for a Savior And he do that the way Jesus did it using the law He gave law to the proud grace to the humble So just like Jesus Paul, Steven, Jude, John the Baptist and so on
We use the law with Muslims at some point in the conversation to bring the knowledge of sin So that the gospel sounds like great news not just good news And then it was that day in my bedroom I repented and I put my trust in Jesus Christ And now 22 years later, I'm in full-time ministry with radical truth I've been in full-time ministry for 12 years now The first five years I was with the ministry called the Racheo Christi Which is Latin for the reason of Christ and we set up apologetics clubs on university college and community college campuses But the last Seven years have been with radical truth where we proclaim truth share the gospel and expose Islam Because being an evangelist first I see Muslims as the largest unreached people group in the world And the religio-political system is on the come-up as far as the fastest growing false religion So that's what we do at radical truth If your church is looking for a missionary to support that's what I am from a full-time missionary But I'm in America because America is just as much of a mission field as other countries
So last 12 years I've been a full-time missionary Christine's a missionary as well and Olin Drylls is our newest missionary And we are proclaiming truth share the gospel exposing Islam and We don't sugarcoat Islam as you heard today But at the same time we know Muslims are people made in the image of God who need a savior And we don't just demonize them like many people do with no solution in the solutions to the gospel So no surprise that Muslims Again, we'll have argument sometimes, but many times they won't you'll be very surprised how open Muslims are to talking with you because if you ask a Muslim hey you want to talk about God you want to talk about Jesus They'll be there all day talking with you So don't let the fear of what you've seen some Muslims do out there keep you from talking with the average Muslim Who again is not a debater doesn't even know islamic theology well and is Right for the gospel now. I don't really do polemics a lot because I simply don't point to Islamic sources
It's like I kind of think why would I give credibility to the Quran which I don't believe in it's like I'm not going to point a Muslim to the Quran if they bring it up Well, then that's when I do polemics like I said So if Muslim brings up Jesus who's really issa we want to let them know that a law and issa have a lot in common Which Muhammad is not part of that because issa does what a law does so even in Islamic sources We can point how special even the fake issa is compared to Muhammad But ultimately we want them to know that it still isn't the correct historical Jesus It's still an islamized revisionist version of him So again the Jesus of islam issa not godson a Muslim a prophet did not die will destroy Christianity when he comes back Now it's no surprise that islam has a false theology of Jesus if you look at history But here was an historian monk and warka ibn nephal was a nostic or ebionite and a Storianism was a fifth century heresy and but here a told Muhammad
This is when he's still in mecca before he started preaching But here a told Muhammad he was chosen by god to be a prophet because of an unusual mole on Muhammad's back An historian told Muhammad this The story nism denied the union of divine and human natures in christ concluding that Jesus was two persons Jesus was a divine person and a human person which is false heretical warka ibn nephal was the cousin of Muhammad's first wife kadeja and Concluded that Muhammad's encounter in the cave when it was an experience from god and testified that Muhammad must be a prophet ebionism taught that Jesus was the Messiah in a prophet but denied his divine nature And it was john of damascus who lived from six seventy five to seven forty nine He was the son of the chief tax collector under the caliph abdel malik And abdel malik is the caliph who had the dome of the rock built and john of damascus said
A false prophet named Muhammad having conversed with an arian monk devised his own heresy arian's denied the eternal deity of christ and that he was god's first creation Which theological cult teaches that today jobus witnesses jobus witnesses are the watchtower is a recycled version of arianism Which was dealt with at the council of nicaea in three twenty five Why do the church councils happen because heresies We're spreading so every time there's a church council those to get back to the true Teachings of christianity so no surprise that Islam has bad theology and again bad philosophy as you learned in the first session Again, too. We had bibles before Muhammad was even born But we have ten other sources in this little red frame right here before he was born Which are not only non-Christian sources they're actually Anti-Christian sources the Jewish Talmud
Lucian a Greek satirist tacitis aromen historian Josephus a Jewish historian Celstis aromen philosopher Sutonius aromen historian Thalus the first century historian Marbar Serapian a private citizen Plenty of the younger aromen politician and fliegen a freed slave who wrote histories These are ten non-biblical non-Christian even Anti-Christian sources which proclaim the historical Jesus who lines up with the Jewish Jesus of Nazareth who we find in the Bible not the false isa of the Quran Islamic sources are circular Islamic sources are used to back up Islamic claims No non-Islamic sources give evidence for isa they give evidence for the true historical Jesus and all we need to do these are four different Counterfeit bills 100 dollar bills How can we determine that they're counterfeit
Studying the real one So guess what whether we talk with a Muslim and they claim that Jesus was a Muslim you talk with a Jovus witness They claim a Jesus of their own which is wrong Mormons believe in Jesus you got a new socialist Jesus that kids are talking about now Guess what these are all false and our measuring rod just as the real dollar is the measuring rod of the false currency The true historical biblical Jesus is How we determine these false teachings that these different groups are talking about so I have even more stuff here And this kind of just gets into the late sources of these things which I gave you earlier that slide thing when these people died and if you look at those dates it's what it's way later than when Al-Mumad lived and died and these are the primary sources of Islam that Muslims look to And yet these sources are sometimes almost 300 years after Muhammad and these are primary sources This is like George Washington dying in 1799 and then his first biography coming out in the year 2000
201 year gap. I mean how much we could really know about George Washington If there's a 201 year gap and yet look at the Hadith 238 years between when Muhammad died and when that came about the history 291 years So Muslims try to say that the Bible has been changed. It's not reliable and so on you look at all the New Testament books the pistols writings of Paul the Gospels and so on Liberal scholars even with their dates that they give is nothing compared to the majority of New Testament scholars which show that all of these Gospels all came out 12 to 37 years after Jesus died and rose from the dead So you could say what happened on 911 that was 25 years ago how you know how you're gonna remember And that's not even using someone alive and then dead and then alive again And that's without the Holy Spirit bringing a remembrance as Jesus promised as well, right?
So remember a lot of people forget where the free speech zone is So I was bringing this highly detailed map with me and When you know that Christianity is true and you're up against 1.6 billion Muslims We just need to remember that we have the truth on our side. We have the gospel That's what Muslims need to hear no Muslims involved by the Holy Spirit and they need the gospel So as Joe the founder of our ministry used to say while the church is waiting for Jesus to come down He's waiting for the church to stand up I gave a presentation two days after Charlie Kirk was assassinated and It was called Islam in the last days a Western threat addition And I gave that at a conference in Southern California And this is the video that I shared at the end The spiritual battle is coming to the west And the enemies are woke is a mark system combining with Islamism to go after what we call the American way of life And the American way of life is very simple. I want to be able to get married Buy a home have kids allow them to ride their bike to the sun goes down
Send them to a good school have a low crime neighborhood Not to have my kid be taught the lesbian gate transgender garbage in their school While also While also Not having them have to hear the Muslim call to prayer five times a day That's important We want the American way of life which is by the way christendom Christians Our sacrifice our toil our vision the outgrowth of the scriptures gave us Western civilization And this is where I think is a great rallying cry doesn't matter if you're Hispanic Does it matter if you're Asian does matter if you're black or white everybody if you are Christian and Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior These two threats are combining forces to come after us and it's time that the church stands and rises up against Any questions on session three
They do have a prayer Called a dua or dua which is a different form of prayer than the five daily prayers and that is more of a Supplication type of prayer to alah but the problem is you can't know a lot alah is not a personal god and so on So you as a christian knowing scripture being able to quote it that alone speaks volumes to Muslims because they See a ton of what we know as nominal Christians and think that they're actual Christians So if your average nominal Christian is who a Muslim sees as a true Christian What happens when a Muslim hears you a real born-in Christian quoting scripture living Christ like quote unquote compared to these Nominals and so on so that speaks volumes to Muslims just you knowing scripture Oh, they're oh you actually read the Bible, you know and knowing the Bible But that's another thing is if you pray for a Muslim you say you can say hey
My god listens to me when I pray and Y'all way hears me So that's just another thing you could let a Muslim know about and ask like is it you know Do you mind if I pray for you and guess what you praying and which is just talking to God and they hear oh This is a different form of prayer than what I usually do five times today thinking that alah requires me to do this so just your Style of prayers gonna be different and we'll speak volumes. Yeah Possessed Yeah They have any what I'm sorry I've never heard of any kind of exorcism at all with Islam The thing that many Muslims don't know about is that when you look to Islam's primary sources and you you read about the encounter that Muhammad had in the cave with supposedly Gabriel it seems very demonic and After that encounter Muhammad wanted to commit suicide when you read in the Bible
What are angels tell people when they're afraid fear or not right and the Quran this Gabriel quote-unquote Squeezed Muhammad to where he couldn't breathe and told him to recite and Muhammad wanted to commit suicide afterwards It says that in the primary source he went up to the highest mountain and was about to jump off and again His wife's relatives the ones convincing him that he's a prophet and You know we we told we told people all the time, you know My especially when I talk about Islam the Muslim brotherhood and so on I had some guy recently like oh who's in charge of this whole Islam thing And I'm like Satan, you know it's like at the end of the day. It's it's Satan right Yeah By article The most
But if I decide to do handicap Seed I'm not going to lie, I'm not going to attend that day, so everyone's good today. And that was my gig at a J.F. Greenfield. That's a very good question, because you're absolutely right in that, although Muslims, if they know their sources, I mean, a lot of Muslims will say, oh yeah, I know if I have more good deeds than bad deeds, I know a law will, but they're not being consistent with the nature of a law, right? Who's capricious arbitrary, and again, his wills, the main attribute. So an intellectually honest Muslim would say, I don't know where I'm going to end up. At the same time, it is taught that dying as a sheikh, dying in jihad, is the only guaranteed way to end up in paradise,
and it just does away with the scale system, and that's absolutely exactly correct on why suicide bombers are willing to do that. It's because people say, oh, no one would die for a lie. People die for a lie all the time. The accurate way to say that is someone would not die for a lie if they know it's a lie. But all the time, people die for a lie, thinking that it's true. And there's women suicide bombers who have thought that they get the same reward that men get if they die as well. So, yeah, also too, I mentioned the Hodge earlier, the Sriptomeca. It's believed by many Muslims that that doesn't do away with the scales, but it resets them. So, if a Muslim, they have, I don't know, I think I've done a lot of bad things. One of the reason why they go to the Hodge is they believe it resets the scales. So, from that point forward, it's, oh, do more good than bad. But yeah, as you mentioned, dying as a martyr, dying in jihad, is believed by many Muslims to be the only guaranteed way to paradise.
So, do you think that they didn't believe in sin? They didn't call the sin? Yeah. But they know that there's bad things in good things. Right. Don't think that some deep down inside the Edole is wrong. Some Muslims will say sin, but at the same time they believe that all prophets are sinless. And therefore, if Adam was the first prophet, it wasn't a sin because prophets don't sin. So, he just made a mistake, kind of thing. They might be more open to saying, oh yeah, Adam was sinless, Muhammad was sinless, Jesus was sinless. I'm a Muslim, I do sin, and therefore I try to do more good deeds than bad deeds. Yeah, it's not standard that they don't believe in sin across the board. They don't believe in original sin. They believe that we're all born innocent, we're all born Muslim. And therefore, when Christians die because of the actions of jihadists,
an intellectually honest Muslim would say, well, that's fine because they're not innocent. They're apostates because they were born Muslim, but they're not Muslim now. So, again, the Islamic worldview is heavily ingrained in certain Muslims. Other Muslims don't even know the Islamic worldview because, again, it's more about those five pillars, praying five times a day, it's what you do. I mean, it's no surprise, I don't know why even so many just liberals in America, you know, it's like they get mad saying, oh, you should be more like Jesus. And then when you are, they get mad about that too. It's like, and it's no surprise that when you have a nominal Christian who's not sharing the gospel, not reading the Bible, doesn't go to church, doesn't do anything Christian. If they actually repent to put their trust in Christ and they're born again, you expect to change in their life, right? Because they're not only devout, quote, unquote, but they're actually dwelled by the Holy Spirit. Now, compare that to a nominal Muslim who says, oh, yeah, I parent you're Muslim.
If a Muslim who's nominal starts reading the primary sources and wants to become like Muhammad, it's no surprise that just as a Christian who is all of a sudden saved and born again starts having a concern for the lost and sharing the gospel, that a nominal Muslim, we don't know what happened to him. He was just reading the Quran and all of a sudden he went crazy. He didn't get born again, he didn't get dwelled by the Holy Spirit. He just went head first into trying to live like Muhammad. And many Westerners, they think that jihadists, ISIS, al-Qaeda, oh, that's an aberration of true Islam. It's because they either don't know or they're lying about true Islamic history. Because if Muhammad were alive today, he wouldn't just join ISIS, he would lead it. Because the jihadist actions line up with the life of Muhammad. But Adal-Wa-Taktik is feeding Westerners of watered down sugar-coated Walt Disney version of Islam until you find out the hard way when it's too late what real Islam entails. And that's Islam according to Muhammad. Yes.
Is there a reason why you've been reading 5,000 days after the New Year? It was higher in that Mirage historical event that I talked about him writing a winged horse named Mirak. That was going up to different levels, all the details of the story. But it was negotiating the amount of prayers per day which used to be higher down to 5. So that's why they pray five times a day, not more but also not less. Although non-developed Muslims may just pray twice a day and think, oh, Allah, Allah, forgive me or whatever. So another question? Yeah. We're going to ask that I knew about the 777 flu. But, um, they pray like maybe in the mountains together. Do they pray in the desert? They pray in the desert and they pray in the desert. Yeah. It's like the, the raucas and the, you know, talking about when they're praying morning afternoon,
late afternoon and so on. It's basically, it's like a ritual prayer. That's why I was saying that, that dua or dua is pronounced differently. That's more of like a supplication personal prayer. It's different than the five daily prayers which they think they have to do on their prayer rug in order to please Allah in order to build up the weight on that heavy scale. And that's why they fast during Ramadan, at least during the daylight hours. They make up for it at night. That's why they make the trip to Mecca and so on. They're trying to weigh down those, those good deeds. Um, one of the resource, but I want to point you to, we don't really have any. But I, I did mention the Jesus film DVD. And more and more people are getting away from DVD players. So this company now makes these little Jesus film DVD cards. And in about two to three hundred languages. And he turned it over. There's a QR code. So I was recently in a grocery store and I had, I had one in Arabic. I had one in Hindu and other ones. And I saw a Muslim woman with her son.
And I went up to him and I said, also I'm a Likim and they, and they said, that way, Likim Salam. And I said, hey, do you guys have a cell phone with a skin of QR code? They said, yeah, I said, here's a free movie to watch. And I gave him the one in Arabic. And the mother said something about Jesus. And I said, you believe in the Issa, right? Not that I do, but I know that they do, right? And she goes, yeah, so yeah, this is, you know, here's a movie. So anyway, I give that to them five minutes later. I went to the line to pay. And I saw a sick guy, the six, they'll, you'll see the bracelet. A lot of guys wear the bracelet. And they have a beard. They have long hair and a turban. A lot of them have a knife. But that's a self-defense thing. You don't need to worry about six. But then he had a daughter with him and she had the little bun right here. So I said, sat Shri Akhal, which is a greeting for sick people. And he smiled and shook my hand. I said, hey, do you have another language other than English that you speak? And he said, yeah, so I pulled out the Hindu or Punjabi one and gave out to him. So in a five minute period at the grocery store, I give the Jesus film to a Muslim woman under sun.
I give the Jesus film to a sick guy. And you can use these or even cheaper than the actual DVDs. And you can have these in your wallet for guys or purse for women. Just one more resource. You can point them to a movie. You can give them a gospel track. We have again, we have these back there and so on. And that's session three, everybody. So thank you for coming today. Thank you.
