2:02Thank you so much, dr. Laura. Welcome. I have a 10 grand children, the oldest being 11. And I always for their birthdays, I take them out solo trips, individual to do something they want to do special on their birthday. They're bowling children's museum library or it's about Anna special lunch. And so one of my grandchildren, he's eight years old. He wanted to go to a trampoline park. And I had never been before, so I called his mom and asked her if I could take him there, because she has taken, she has four children and she has gone there before and taken them. And she said, yes. So we were there not even five minutes and he twisted his ankle. So I had the manager give me some ice. I put him in the car. I called his mom and I said, you know, he twisted his ankle. And so now we're, you know, heading home. And so she said, okay, so week goes by and I'm thinking he's better now.

3:04So I said, okay, let's go to the movies, you know, can't get hurt going to the movies. So I text his mom, I'm hoping and he is the most active little kid out of the 10. He's the one that always gets into stuff. So anyway, so I said, how about going to movies? I do not hear back from her. And then I hear back that afternoon, I get a text from my son saying, no more solo dates with the kids. The kids need more supervision than most people can provide or are willing to provide. And now only group activities with his wife from here on out with the kids. And and then she sent me a text to like, I don't know, 20 minutes later saying basically the same thing. She thought it over and no more group activities with the kids. Okay, so talked. Tell me a little bit more about your son. He is our youngest.

4:04We have free children. That's not telling me anything about his personality, his behaviors, mental illness. Tell me about your son. Oh. I think he is spoiled, self centered, controlling him and his wife. Like I saw him the other and he comes over quite often almost every night and we have a swimming pool until the kids are over. And then so when he was gave me this text, I said, okay, you know, what about when you were growing up, your grandfather took you guys everywhere and there is accidents a whole lot more than a twisted ankle, you know, and he was just saying, well, then you should have taken us away from him and he shouldn't have had one on one time with us. I mean, there's no talking to him. I don't know. Okay, stop talking. She's not the problem. You have a neurotic, angry son.

5:06And she's afraid of him. So that's why the text from her came second. How do I deal with him? And so now I can't see that his take his kids without everybody, which I had and I was explaining to him, I've taken her and the kids, the farmer's market. I lean. I lean. It's painful to me to listen to people wonder why an irrational person. Is not rational. Yeah, he is irrational. This was waiting to happen something pissed him off. This is not about the turnt ankle, something pissed him off. He's mad at his wife and you're getting it. He's holding her accountable. So she has to be there from now on. Your son is a problem.

6:07And you know that's true. Yeah. So then how do we, so how do I deal with that? Which is, don't ask me how questions. I'm trying to tell you there's something wrong with your son, something in his marriage in that family at work, something set him on. Do I tell him hey, there's something wrong with you? Then you won't see the kids at all. That's. Yeah, so then I just have to walk on egg shells, I guess.

10:21Yes, but it is nothing to do with you and your egg shells. Something at home triggered him. And he's punishing her. But that little shit of your son is going to come over to your pool every day. I always love when. Mothers are not. Objective and honest about what some of their kids are really like. You know exactly what he's like. This is just part of who he's like. And there is no how. So what should I do? Shut up. Okay. I know of nothing else.

11:23She's got four kids with him. She's not going to leave them. And she can't imagine life with four kids on her own. So she's stuck. Yeah. Just enjoy the kiddies coming over every night to swim in your pool. And don't piss him off. So maybe I should spend some more time with her than the kids. And see if I can help her. Would you do me a big favor? This is stupid way for me to announce it. Stop thinking you're helping anybody. Okay. This is my own you. This is beyond you.
