Falcons Trade for Safety Sydney Brown

The Atlanta Falcons just made their first trade under new executive Ian Cunningham, bringing in safety Sidney Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles 2, bolster their secondary death. In the deal, Atlanta swapped their fourth round pick at number 114 for number 122, and their sixth rounder at 197 for 215 to land the 26 year old who turns 26 tomorrow. Brown showed promise as a third round pick out of Illinois with a 99 yard interception return in his rookie year, but in Achilles injury derailed him, leading to coverage issues and penalties on special teams last season. Now in the final year of his rookie contract, he's a low risk addition for defensive coordinator Jeff Obrick, who could use him as a reserve safety, or, nickel corner, if he cuts down on mental errors and missed tackles.
