Falling behind! America’s education crisis goes global

Pizza is an acronym stands for the program for International Student Assessment. It's a test which measures the abilities of 15-year-olds in math, science, and reading proficiency. It's often used as a metric for college and career readiness. And it is, I mean it's something that the developing nations use. This is an opportunity for America

1:08to compare student-performance globally with other developed nations. And this headline here that I'm looking at, I'm holding this headline that says US students still behind much of the world in math and reading based upon this global assessment. The pizza scores, not good and then, you know, part of the reason. I gotta say it's not good. I'm holding another another article here, a couple other articles. One here entitled IRS Treasury proposed cutting tax exempt status for schools with diversity policies. It's another reason why we are lagging behind this because we're too focused on diversity. We're not focused on academics in this country we're focused on diversity. Here's proof of another. I've got another article here. We're created equal and that we all have the opportunity to excel if given the liberty to do that. And here in America, we have that liberty. But there are those among us that say everybody has to be equal in every single thing. We all have to be the same. And we need to focus on certain groups, certain political

We're comparing ourselves to the world here in this in this test, the program for International Student Assessment, we're getting our Hines kicked. Talk about lagging behind. Results from a recent global assessment indicate that reading scores for American high school students have dropped over the past three years. Are we shocked by this? Are we surprised? No, we're not. And I know that look, I know that the Trump administration has focused on education. You've got a flamethrower there in the and the secretary's chair. McMahon is a flamethrower. I mean, she is interested in cleaning house and

4:26we like that about her. We like this element of Trump 2.0 and what they're doing at the Department of Education. We're in support of it. But you're not going to turn this this aircraft carrier around on a dime. I mean, we we we we we're trying. But it's not going to happen when we're focused on fried flags and diversity. So yeah, we're not shocked that reading scores continue, continue to drop, continue to dip, plummet. I mean, call it what you want to call it. But math and science performance still falls behind American students are still lagging behind that of their peers in several other developed countries, according to this piece. Are the initial findings released on September 8th indicate the following? Oh boy, my friends,

5:28this is not good students from Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Canada, and the UK continue to outperform US public school students in the three subjects of math, science, and reading. The the PISA has not yet shared comprehensive comparative rankings of the 91 nations that participated in the latest assessments. China did not participate as a nation. The four Chinese provinces that that did participate also outperformed American 15 year olds. About 760,000 children across the world participated, according to the PISA website. All told, US students still performed above the average of all participating nations and reading in science. Slightly below the average in math, this is embarrassing. Were the United States of

6:37America the greatest country on the planet? And yet were below average in math? Were were barely above average in science? And reading? Compared with the 2022 results, average US scores in science remain the same. From math and reading however, the average scores remain below three COVID levels and among the lowest ever observed in PISA and the United States. That's a direct quote, dating back some 26 years. That is a direct quote that the the scores that we've just come out of here in 2025 are among the lowest ever observed from United States kids being involved in this in this test. This is the impetus for for what we are. What we're about to step into this this threshold. Now we talk about turning this thing around on a dime. 10:57it's not what what you're normally seeing out there in an education land the PISA proficiency levels range from one to six with level two considered minimum proficiency all right 74% of the US students read level two or above in reading so 74% are at minimum proficiency only 13% were at a level five or a level six okay the results for science were similar for math 65% of US students read level two or above only 8% were at levels five or six compared with 54% of the four Chinese provinces and 37% out of Singapore levels five or six were at 8%

30:05first amendment rights of teachers when those teachers were ordered to remove pride flags and these teachers loved my first amendment right it's not your first amendment right to teach ideologies to our children that's not your first amendment right but we're more focused on teaching ideologies to our kids than we are teaching strength teaching courage teaching values and virtues and morals the supreme court said in this ruling this is the second circuit may say we conclude that the teachers classroom wall decorations constituted speech pursuant to their official duties as government employees this was a panel of judges here from the second circuit it was unanimous decision

41:43here is strength the fact that the trump administration is proposing this rule that would strip private colleges and schools of their tax exempt status is strength because some institutions are engaged in weakness defined as racial discrimination through policies such as diversity equity and inclusion this is an administration that that really wants education to be comprised comprised of strength not not weakness so the the US treasury the irs said on thursday of last week that a proposed rule would bar a private school from obtaining tax exempt status under section 501c3 of the ux of the US tax code if the school quote adopts maintains or enforces a policy or practice that discriminates

47:00organized for the benefit of private interests as a 501 c3 and their net earnings cannot endure to the benefit of any private shareholder or individual as a 501 c3 the IRS chief here said that private schools that promote discriminatory practices will no longer be exempt we're we're going to revoke it he said today's proposed regulations put institutions on notice and schools that continue to engage in racial discrimination should expect to lose their status bum bum bum bum religious private schools will still be able to maintain a religious mission curriculum or program of religious observance under the latest proposal according to the department it added that those schools schools can continue to select students based on religious affiliation or membership provided they follow guidelines consistent with federal law
