Hey, welcome, you made it to Trailer Park, the podcast trailer podcast.
0:08
My name's Ariel Nissenblatt, I am your host and I'm going to hit play on a trailer for
0:13
a podcast that I really love and I'm just going to hit play right now and then once it's
0:17
over I'll come back and I'll give you the full intro and I'll talk a little bit about
0:21
the trailer but without further ado, here is the trailer for Famous and Gravy, enjoy.
0:29
I often wonder how am I doing, like am I living a good life, but what makes for a good
0:38
Is that meaningful, fun, memorable, loving?
0:43
It's kind of the big question and who better to help us than celebrities?
0:53
For better or worse, Famous people represent something about who we are and who we want
1:00
So, on Famous and Gravy, each episode we choose a dead celebrity, and through a series
1:10
of categories about the highs and lows of their inner and outer life, we explore what seems
1:15
desirable to us, and then we decide on the Vanderbake, either I want your life or I don't
1:32
Famous and Gravy, conversations about what really matters in life and what's gravy, one
1:38
dead celebrity at a time.
1:45
Welcome back on the show, I play a trailer for you and then I talk about that trailer
1:50
whether I like it, love it, hate it, am ambivalent about it, am apathetic towards it, everything
1:56
So let's get into it.
1:57
Now you hit play on this podcast either because you're a long time fan of trailer park,
2:03
the podcast, trailer podcast, you're searching for something to listen to and this show maybe
2:08
indirectly shares podcast recommendations because you are intrigued by the title Famous
2:14
What the hell does that mean?
2:15
I'm playing the trailer for the show, even though it was submitted to be featured in 2023,
2:22
I was going through the submissions that I got on the form on trailer park podcast.crd.co,
2:29
anyone can go there and submit their trailer.
2:31
I have 394 submissions to go through, but I wanted to dive into the trailer for this
2:38
show because the show has changed a lot over the years.
2:41
I should make it clear that Michael has no idea that his trailer is being featured
2:48
So a lot has changed.
2:49
There may even be a new trailer, but I am going to feature the trailer that he submitted
2:53
a while back because I still think it's great.
2:56
I think the trailer makes really great use of music.
2:59
It does a great job presenting the value of the show and the trailer is a great representation
3:05
of the actual content within the episodes.
3:09
It's a great example of one that promises a number of things within the trailer and then
3:13
actually delivers those promises in the show every episode.
3:18
What I think this show does especially well is segmenting.
3:21
There are really distinct creative segments in each episode of famous and Gravy.
3:28
There is something in there for everyone, whether you are curious about a dead celebrity
3:32
and the history around that person or you just want Michael's take on whether or not
3:37
he'd be interested in living the life of Kobe Bryant.
3:40
All of that is in there.
3:41
So whether you like history or you like celebrities, Fannis and Gravy is pretty cool for all of
3:51
I also want to mention that the famous and Gravy YouTube channel is one to check out if
3:57
you are an audio creator that is interested in taking advantage of being on YouTube to
4:03
potentially find new fans, listeners, consumers, viewers, whatever.
4:09
But you don't necessarily want to go full on video production mode.
4:13
This show has done a great job keeping their YouTube channel active despite not putting
4:18
out full video episodes.
4:20
They will from time to time put out clips from their interviews that do involve real people
4:26
But for the most part, they are doing pretty well audio only on YouTube.
4:32
And just in case you didn't know, listener, you can submit your RSS to YouTube.
4:37
And if you already have a channel or if you create a channel, it will be available as
4:41
an audio only podcast.
4:42
There are people who are using the search bar on YouTube in order to find something to
4:47
consume, whether they watch that thing or listen to that thing will depend on their consumer
4:51
behavior at that moment or in the long term.
4:54
But if you're there and you pop up when they type in the keywords that they're interested
4:59
in finding, there's a good chance that they'll at least check.
5:03
So worthwhile to be on YouTube, at least for the search possibilities and to check out
5:08
famous engravy on YouTube to see what they've done with the place.
5:12
I'm going to leave it at that for this episode of trailer park in this installment.
5:16
I focused just a bit on the trailer and then I went a bit beyond the packaging behind
5:23
And the reason for that is because I plan to zoom out a bit in our future episodes
5:26
of the show because the trailer is very important because it's often the first thing that people
5:31
will hear when they're deciding whether or not to check out your show.
5:35
But it's not the first thing that they see their first touch points with you might be a
5:39
clip on social media, your website, a blog post or a social post that you put out that
5:44
features a quote from a guest that you had that that person already follows.
5:49
And that's why they came to your show and blah, blah, blah, blah.
5:52
So there are a lot of ways in for people.
5:54
So we're going to focus on some of those ways that people may come across your show.
5:58
And then what you can do to make your show one that makes them want to click, listen or
6:03
view, and then stay listening or viewing, becoming a fan of yours and sticking around
6:09
So thank you to famous engravy for submitting the trailer to the show a while back and
6:15
for being the subject of this episode where yes, we talked about the trailer, but we also
6:20
are using it as a starting point as a jumping off point and to go beyond in future episodes
6:26
As always, submit your trailer to be featured on trailer park by going to trailerparkpodcast.crd.co.
6:37
So listeners, let me know, will you check out famous and gravy?
6:41
Will you listen to the show or are you curious about what we can learn from celebrities of
6:46
Are you intrigued by the promise of the YouTube search algorithm and what it may or may
6:51
not do for your show or creative projects?

7:24
in the podcast space and much beyond.
