Hello and welcome to the Thursday edition
of the Rotawire Fantasy Basketball Podcast,
sponsored by SlingTV.
I'm your host, Karen Sprecher.
As usual, I'm joined by fantasy basketball guru Adam King.
And we're here to answer everybody's fantasy basketball related questions.
So if you haven't yet, throw your questions in the chat.
And hopefully we can get to all of them.
Apologies for the people that were waiting in the queue for the delay.
Had some technical difficulties on my side,
but hopefully we can make it through this podcast clean
and help you guys win some fantasy basketball championship.
So Adam, let's just jump right into it.
Off the top, Jiggy says,
Hi there, I have Oso and Grayson.
Grayson's still in my IEL spot, but no longer tagged.
So no need to drop both.
Drop both.
Also slash Grayson Saturday game for potential three games of Devon Carter
or hold 12 team head to head nine cat finals week.
Yeah, I, this is tough.
Head to head this if or hold this is your finals week.
If this is your finals week, you can drop them, right?
There's only one game left for the suns.
But obviously if next week is your finals,
I would probably hold on to Grayson.
I think they do have a back to back though.
So you made only get three games next week.
What are your thoughts about about the suns moving forward?
Let's assume this means finals are next week.
Yeah, I'm not.
Yeah, if it's finals and next week.
Yeah, we might have to get some clarification on that.
Because if finals end this week, then absolutely you do this.
Yeah.
No brainer.
If you're looking ahead to next week.
And you said the suns have a back to back.
Oh, they do.
Yep, Monday.
Yeah, Monday, Tuesday, back to back.
And Sacramento have three games.
So you could actually.
Yeah, if you're looking at next week,
you could actually hold Grayson,
also a guitar.
And then drop them.
Or one of them because they have two games in the first two days.
And then two games in the next five days.
So you could hold them for those first two games.
Sacramento don't play.
And then pick up Devon Carter for the for three games in five nights to close the week.
But if this is it for you,
if this is the end of your season,
this week, then yes,
I would absolutely make this move.
Yeah, couldn't agree more.
Shining Knight says 10 team head to head.
I got BJ Dejante Murray,
a Saru Kedi Renaud,
Jamal Murray, Jalen Johnson,
Mitchell Robinson, Wembee, Garland Gidey,
Pertle, KBJ Sugg,
they're both on IR.
Should I drop someone to activate Suggs?
Yeah, so head to head.
Obviously,
I would assume this is category league.
If you say and head to head,
because obviously point league would be head to head.
Mitchell Rob would be the the name that I would look at here.
But he's kind of, you know,
a specialist, right?
A category specialist.
So if you need blocks,
you need rebounds.
I don't see the need to drop there.
I don't think I would just clean drop
any of the other guys for Suggs,
though, how about you?
No,
I don't think so.
Yeah, again,
you want to look at the specialists to drop.
So maybe a Sar,
maybe,
probably not right now.
Yes, a Sar and Mitchell Rob
would be the two,
I think I'd consider there.
And it looks like there is a second part to this question.
And finals.
Yeah, winning percentages and assists rebounds are contested.
Steele's are contested.
Have a better lead in blocks and points,
but opposing team has Luca.
Well, Luca's not going to get blocks.
I wouldn't think so.
If steals.
Yeah, I mean,
you could,
you could potentially lean into steals and blocks.
Yeah.
Which would may not hold a saw.
Yeah,
I don't think Suggs is really going to give you enough points
to combat Luca.
If that's what you're worried about, right?
Where is he?
You know,
he can still do the defensive stuff,
but a Sar is going to get you more steals.
And Mitchell Rob is going to get you more blocks.
So if those are you're like,
those are your category specialists.
Those are,
you're going to get more production in those categories out of
Mitchell Rob and a Sar than you are Suggs.
And if you're only activating Suggs
because you want to compete in points,
you're probably going to get destroyed by Luca anyways, right?
Yeah, I think so.
The other one I guess you could consider there is Reyno
because he doesn't really block a lot of shots.
He's a good rebounder.
Points are fine.
But if you're going to sort of give up on rebounds
and focus on blocks and blocks and steals,
then potentially you could drop Reyno.
But I do have a really good schedule to cause out this week.
So that makes that one a little bit tricky.
Yep, totally fair there.
I know a couple of weeks ago someone asked us,
should they,
should they roster Reyno or Demard Rosen if they wanted points?
And since that question,
Reyno scored like 100 points in four games.
So I guess we were wrong about that one,
but the process was still right there.
And yeah, you make a great point about Reyno not being a great blocker.
I agree with everything you said there.
Yeah, no problem.
Shining help.
Shining Knight.
Appreciate your questions.
Charlie Hammer here says.
Any concern with Pertal?
I need blocks rebounds and offensive rebounds
to maintain my lead in the championship.
He would also probably be my first drop
if I needed to do a waiver claims.
Yeah, Pertal is solid.
He left last night's game with an eyelapse duration,
but he returned.
You know, didn't have the best outing overall.
And I do think that he'll probably sit out at least one game
to back to backs.
I don't have the Raptor schedule memorized here.
But I'm fine with holding.
I'm fine with holding no back to backs for the Raptor's next week.
So I think that I think what was a minor issue.
And if he's not going to rest any games next week,
I think he could be pretty productive,
especially in those categories you're need.
I'm not sure if I've done Pertal Adam.
Looks like they do have a back to back.
Do you want to just confirm that?
Looks like they have a Tuesday Wednesday back to back next week.
But just check that I'm not looking at the wrong page.
And one of them.
One of them is against Sacramento.
Oh, yeah, they do.
They do.
I was looking at the right.
So possibly they give him a night off against the Kings.
Three games.
So I'm not.
I mean, concerned.
I'm not concerned with him.
I will say, though, though, he is not blocking shots.
So if you need blocks, I think he's averaging under a blocker game this season,
whether that is sort of hangover from the back injury potentially.
But he's fine.
But I also.
I also think that you could stream in.
You just need rebounds and blocks.
You could probably look at grabbing like an even easy for a nice little three game
period or something like that.
So.
I'm not concerned with Pertal, but I will say that he's.
Yeah, he's not.
The elite shot blocker that I think people.
You just think he is because he used to be.
He's not anymore.
Yeah.
Yeah.
One point three blocks over the last 12 games.
But if you, if you.
You know, reduce that, it's less than one block per game.
That's a fair point.
And yeah, with the back to back, I would assume he definitely misses one of those games next week.
Charlie also says thoughts on Jalen Williams and category leagues.
Categories include offensive rebounds and double doubles as well.
Yeah.
This is this is tough for me.
I.
I would expect J up to have some.
To have some struggles as he, as he prepares for the playoffs, how about you Adam?
Yeah.
He wasn't great yesterday.
There's so many games yesterday.
It was hard to stay on top of every.
From the field seven points, three rebounds, three assists.
Yeah.
20 minutes.
So yeah, I think the minutes they're going to be cautious with him here.
It's good that he's starting, but you can see if you look like he's playing short bursts.
He's playing kind of four to five minute bursts at the moment.
That'll ramp up, but there's obviously no incentive for them to rush him back.
They just need him for the playoffs. That's it.
They don't, they don't care about fantasy playoffs.
That's sad that they don't, but they, but they don't.
So yeah, look, I think he's, he's okay to hold.
But I also don't think you have to.
I know it's, it's always tough dropping a player like this.
He's so good, but.
24 minutes.
What's their schedule?
They only have three games next week.
So no back to backs.
They play Utah.
Maybe he gets a random night off there.
Yeah, honestly, with with their schedule next week,
I don't think you have to hold him if, if like next week is your, your finals or something like that.
Oh, yeah, I believe they play a Sunday Monday back to back.
So maybe he sits Sunday and then plays Monday.
But he, if he sits that Monday game, he would only miss.
Okay, right.
He would only have two games next week.
I totally agree.
I will say that I was, I was completely wrong about Jason Tatum's production when he came.
He's not like, you know, he's not Jason Tatum, Jason Tatum.
The fish efficiency still isn't there, but he's getting tons of defensive stats and,
and rebounding at a high rate.
Um, I, that's not really happening with JW yet.
I do, I, I'm going to double down and say that, you know, I would be fine moving off of him.
And I think there's plenty of streaming candidates that are going to play more than 24 minutes.
And, and you better all around production.
Um, I would, and just for the, the double doubles, since you threw that in there, Charlie,
I would be shocked if, if JW had a double double during the record,
in the final 10 games of the regular season, whatever it is.
Would you, would you, is that a fair bet to say?
Yeah, I think he's capable of, of recording a double double.
But in 24 minutes with, and, and with their healthy at the moment.
So it's all like, yeah, fully healthy.
So there's no, it's not like he's having to go out there and play a small ball center or anything like that.
Or handle the ball a bit more.
He can do both of those things, but he doesn't need to.
So, yeah, double doubles doesn't really impact this question, I don't think.
Yeah, Thomas Sorber, their, their rookie is the only player on the injury report for the thunder this season.
And yeah, I would be, I would bet that there's a higher probability that JW gets a double double during the,
the actual playoffs than during the final 10 games of the season.
Yeah.
As a first time fantasy basketball participant, you guys were the best and most consistent.

And my favorite team is the Chicago Cubs.
And then once they start to lose, you get too mad and you can't watch any more baseball.
So instead of paying for the season long memberships of MLB TV or whatever, you can just do sling and watch for a couple of days until your team inevitably falls out of the rotation.
All right.
Adderson says, my final, my fantasy finals is next week.
Maxi is dropped and could come back for one.
Is he worth the pickup?
What are your thoughts on this one, Adam?
I think the four one return date is a little optimistic.
Yeah, so I was just, I'd already read this question.
I was just looking so he was given the three week timeline on March 10.
So we're looking at around that first of April for a three week that the timeline.
But it was a reevaluation in three weeks.
There's a comment here that he's working hard.
So he's in doing stuff with the team, but he's pretty much using his non dominant hand at the moment.
Yeah, I would say, I would say first April first is sort of best case scenario, but unlikely.
It may, I mean, it may come down a little bit to their record and things like that.
Like they look really good yesterday with obviously within feedback with Paul George back.
They could be pretty scary team in the playoffs.
I know that's a side.
If they can get into the playoffs, I don't even know where they're in the standings.
Oh, I think the middle of like seven.
Yeah, seven.
Yeah.
They're.
Okay, so they could quite easily push into the sixth spot here, possibly even the fifth.
I mean, Lanter are playing really well at the moment, but anyway, that's a side note.
But yeah, I wouldn't want to be playing them in the playoffs if they're healthy.
So I think first of April is probably best case scenario.
Look, if you're in a position this week that you can afford to take a couple of zeros.
I don't mind picking him up because we may get some sort of a timeline or sort of definitive.
Yes, he's, his aim is to come back Wednesday next week.
So if you can do it, if you can just pick him up and throw him into your aisle spot and see if we get an update in the next four days.
I don't mind doing that, but I wouldn't sort of count on him coming back first of April.
Yeah, totally.
And then even if he does come back that first of April, you have a Friday Saturday back to back set.
So he definitely wouldn't play in both of those games.
So at best, you're getting two games out of him.
But like you said, obviously a good enough player and a minor enough injury that you would, you would expect him to, you know, maybe some rust because he can't use his dominant hand, but he's not going to like have any conditioning issues or anything.
Once that, that pinky's healed, he should be good to go.
So definitely think it's worth, you know, monitoring and if your aisle spot is open, definitely.
But again, you know, don't hold your breath for all of that to come true.
Sub zero says, should I drop filipowski or John Collins for Cardwell?
I'm trying to get extra game head to head nine cat 12 team.
Yeah, what's going on with filipowski right now is is very concerning.
I would still probably say that he's worth holding.
It was just, you know, his last absence was attributed to an illness, but again, you know, a couple of weeks ago, he sat out a random game.
For no reason, I believe they just said rest, you know, a 25 year old kid that's resting on what he finally has a consistent role in the NBA is ridiculous.
So I think I might be fine with this.
But, but yeah, I, what are your thoughts on filipowski? Let's just go player by player here.
Are you worried about filipowski at all?
Not really. He's two misgames have come against Washington and Sacramento.
So they're two games that they want to lose and their schedule for next week is Cleveland Denver, Houston, Thunder.
So probably plays all four of those games, unless this illness is a thing and it sticks around, but I don't really think it is.
Yeah, not too worried. I think he, as I said, he probably plays.
He's minutes have been a little bit up and down, but he's still doing stuff. So I would probably hold filipowski here.
Sean Collins might be a different story, though.
I, yeah, I would agree with that. And to your point to probably going to play in all of those games against good teams.
And when his minutes were down, 18 minutes against Philadelphia, that was a banged up.
You're talking about a healthy version of Philadelphia being a force in the playoffs.
When, when you top play them, that was a banged up squad, 25 minutes against Milwaukee.
So so yeah, in these games where they're playing, you know, equally bad teams, you see his minutes drop.
But next week, I like that rationale that next week he's going to play and play heavy minutes in all of those games.
And he's good enough. Like he's definitely the best fantasy player on this list, right?
Like when he sees 20 to 28 minutes, he's the best player here.
What are your thoughts on John Collins?
Yeah, he might be a bit different. He was schoolless yesterday in 22 minutes.
What's that up back? No, you just had a bit of an ankle thing.
He had to say, I don't know.
I'd prefer to keep Phillipowski over Collins.
If I had to pick one of those two.
And then in terms of adding Cardwell for obviously the favorable schedule to close out this week.
I think that's okay.
He's not starting. He's still coming off the bench, but he can get your rebounds. He can get your blocks.
So if that's what you're looking for, then I'd be okay dropping John Collins.
I would agree to like further that point.
I think Cardwell has him with two games has a better chance or the extra game has a better chance of delivering a significant contribution than John Collins.
Collins is kind of just like a safer option. So I like.
Jiggy says, rank golden state players for rest of this week.
Gees Santos, Gary Payton, Pods, Melton, head to head, nine cats.
No, that's just another question from Jiggy.
This is a good question here. Let me look at their schedule here.
Anybody jump out from this list right away?
No, I think they're all players that you can consider.
So they have two games for Washington at home against Washington and then in Denver on Sunday.
Okay.
I might go.
I might go, Gees and Pods first, just because I think they have scope to play 30 plus minutes, where Gary Payton and Melton are both hovering in that mid 20s range.
So I'll put Gees Santos and Pajemski first because of that.
Who would I probably prefer?
I'm looking at their stats here. I'd probably go Gees Santos slightly ahead of Pajemski.
It's close though.
And then Payton and Melton, honestly, it's a role of the dice.
I've got both of them on a team.
And I went with Gary Payton yesterday, and I probably should have gone with Melton.
And the game before that, I went with Gary Payton and he was the right decision.
So they're very similar.
They're very defensive stats.
Gary Payton is probably the more efficient of the two players.
And then Melton just probably has a little bit more offensive upside.
Like he can.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But like you said, Payton has been just so efficient recently.
That's been a real help for me in category leaks where I'm rushing in.
Yeah, I would probably go Gees, Pods.
And then it just.
I'll just say Gees Pods, Melton, Gary Payton.
Maybe that's a little bit of a emotional hedge because I have Gary Payton roster.
A couple of leagues.
Yeah.
But I probably would have taken all of those three guys.
If those were options, Gary Payton was just still available in my deep league.
Yeah.
I just think there's a little bit more upside from Melton.
He could pop for 25 points if he catches fire.
Yeah.
What to do with Jared Allen and Kevin Porter, Jr.
14 team head to head.
Playoff started this week, but I'm getting smashed.
Would you drop both either?
And what are your thoughts of return?
Will they be limited?
Waverwire, Leonard Miller, Devin Carter.
Jared Allen is frustrating.
I think we're we continue to treat him as day to day, but there has not been a significant.
Update and he can.
Well, I guess he did get ruled out a questionable for Friday.
So that is that is a significant update.
I missed that while I was running.
That was five minutes ago.
That's a positive sign.
He's been ruled out 24 hours in advance of all of his previous absences.
So, you know, this is a good sign.
If he doesn't return to tomorrow, he could return this weekend.
Kevin Porter, Jr.
I'm a little less optimistic about.
How about you?
Yeah, same.
I think the the upgrading of Jared Allen is positive.
So I think I'd probably hold him.
Kevin Porter, Jr.
I'm fine.
I think you can move on.
Even if he does come back, he's going to be limited.
He's not going to play back to backs.
The bucks have thrown in the towel basically.
So I.
Yeah, I'm fine with moving on from Kevin Porter.
And and Devin Carter has that favorable schedule to close out the week.
He's if you're looking for a kind of a one for one replacement,
it is not a bad replacement for Kevin Porter,
because he gets a CC get steals those guard stats.
So I'd be fine doing that.
Cool.
Yeah, Kevin Porter has three appearances in the last 12 games.
Like last week.
He was ruled questionable for a game.
Oh, what was that?
Last Thursday, a week ago, he was listed as questionable for Thursday.
And then he ended up getting ruled out.
And since then, he's been ruled out 24 hours in advance.
Seems like, you know, maybe a setback or just the bucks being like whatever we don't really want to.
I don't know if you caught this one, but he was on a podcast recently and said that he he's going to.
He's going to break BAM at a bio's record to honor Kobe because Kobe.
Kobe decided it.
So maybe, maybe Kevin Porter does score 90 at some point this season,
but he's going to be on the bat heavily against that.
And I like you said the Carter schedule is pretty favorable.
All right, Matt Carmody, what's up, Matt's 12 team head to head Yahoo points in my finals.
Congratulations.
Would you rather have three games of Macovitch or two games of Cam Johnson or Drew holiday?
This is a good question.
Macovitch is a fun player to watch, isn't he?
Very, very high energy, very athletic.
I'm not so sure about his fantasy upside.
His fantasy consistency.
What about you, Adam?
Yeah, I'm just having a look.
Because yeah, to me, I just didn't think he was playing enough.
And I mean, the minutes are kind of there.
Production hasn't been great.
I think I think I'd go two games of of Drew holiday.
Yeah, and you'd rather have Drew holiday over Cam Johnson.
I think so.
The nuggets are pretty healthy now.
They're getting their players back.
So I know Cam Johnson has been better over the last few weeks,
but I still think I'd take the upside of holiday.
I know he hasn't been great, but we saw how good he can be earlier in the season.
So yeah, I think I'd go with the proven commodity here.
And that's true, holiday.
Total.
Couldn't agree more.
Couldn't agree more.
Yeah, Cam Johnson.
The nuggets still don't look great.
It's a little clunky and clunky, but Cam Johnson is playing a little bit better.
Season ends for me April 5th.
Elijah says, should I cut curry?
I'm going to say yes here.
He was supposed to scrimmage last Sunday.
And then he didn't.
And he's still not scrimmaging.
And it's Thursday.
He's going to need to scrimmage.
And then he's.
And then see how his body reacts to that before they even think about putting him in a game.
So I think he's definitely not going to play the rest of this week.
And then, you know, you're getting down to, you know,
just a handful of games there.
And maybe he shoots up.
Maybe he doesn't.
But I would rather have just a productive player for the final week of the season.
How about you Adam?
Yeah, I think I'm okay.
He's as you said, he hasn't scrimmaged yet.
So I think best case he comes back early next week or mid next week.
There'll be some limitations.
So yeah, I think if you're finals are next week, obviously the concern here is that your opponent picks him up.
And then he comes back and burns you in the finals.
But yeah, these are the tough decisions you have to make.
And I think I'd be okay.
Moving on.
So Elijah, there's five games left before your season ends.
The Warriors played tomorrow against Washington in Denver on Sunday.
I don't expect him to play either of those games, especially not travel to play in Denver.
Well, when he hasn't scrimmaged yet.
So then looking ahead to next week, you have a Wednesday, Thursday, back to back.
And then that the final game on Sunday against Houston.
So like at best, at the very, very best curry plays in two games.
So I just don't see the upside there.
And then the downside is you don't get any games out of them.
Yes.
Matt says, Guy or Jaros Walker in the 10 team head to head Yahoo points league.
My finals are next week.
He also points off that they're both off Monday and Tuesday to start next week.
Yeah, I was just looking at this schedule.
I think I'm going to say Santos here.
I just and that the only reason that I'm leaning that way right now is.
So the Pacers are pretty healthy for all things considered.
Pascal, see I'm going to play in Andrew Memhardt's plane.
You know, Aaron Smith is playing Walker's still starting.
But he's not quite getting the number of assists, the number of shot attempts that he was when a lot of those guys were injured.
And with Moody out now, Santos is going to be in the starting lineup.
And I don't expect like I said plenty of times before I don't think curry's going to play for a while here.
I just think there's a clear path to Santos popping and then the rest Jaros Walker.
How about you?
Yeah, I think based on what we're seeing right now, I agree.
I think that Guy Santos has a little bit more opportunity to just to do stuff.
But I will just sort of caution that yes, the Pacers are healthy right now.
But listening to other podcasts.
Josh Lloyd mentioned that.
All of their two way guys after tonight, because Jalen Slauson is out.
All of their two way guys can play every game now for the remainder of the season.
So.
Have they been loading up this roster, resting the two way guys with a view to flipping that switch and going.
Okay, two way guys to your show now.
And if that's the case, Jaros Walker's probably in that bunch of.
Not he's not a two way player, obviously, but he's in the bunch of the young guys they want to see.
I go to Santos based on what we know right now, but.
Just don't be surprised if this time next week.
Pascal Siacum is out.
Andrew Neymar is out and Aaron needs me this out.
And and Jaros Walker's playing 36 minutes a night and running the show.
I that is a very, very good point.
And yes, at any point, the Peter's injury reported could go back to, you know, 12 guys listed as doubtful.
Brian Luper says, would you prefer monk or Carter for the Kings back to back weekend games?
I.
I have a love hate relationship with the Malik monk.
I love him as a player and as a fantasy player, like when he's getting extended minutes, but.
It's just been really hard to count on him.
He's got 30 plus minutes and two straight and he did get a start.
Nick Clifford is out now for a while.
Keegan Murray is not going to come back for a while.
I mean, Keegan Murray got cleared, but he's he's not going to play the rest of this week.
I think Malik monk is the higher upside here, but it's it's just also it comes with a lot of, you know, yellow flags.
He might only play 15 minutes.
Do you do you have a lean here?
I don't it's pretty close.
At least it looks like Westbrook might be done for a while.
Like that that that's a positive should have been that should have happened months ago, but.
Pretty sure Killian haze is back tonight.
Yep.
Yep. So so that's another guard to kind of throw into the the mix there.
I think monk probably has the higher upside, but Carter might be slightly safer.
Yep.
Without Westbrook, I think Carter probably just starts at point guard, but Malik monk as we've seen in the past.
He can he can go off for 30 points easily, double digit assists.
So yeah, the safe option, Devon Carter, the risky, but more upside option is Malik monk.
Yeah.
And and Killian haze is cleared.
That's a good point.
And he might he might start he has drawn a couple of starts here.
But he doesn't he doesn't play a ton of minutes.
Um, you know, the last his last appearance, he started and played 12 minutes and then 21 minutes 19 minutes.
They'd have a 38 minute or in there.
But he's played more than 23 minutes only twice in the in the 14 game.
So there should be plenty of minutes four monk and Carter.
But anyway, like you said, I definitely agree that Carter is a safer option, even though he's a rookie or a younger a younger player.
Yep.
Um, white chocolate.
What's up Jason Williams?
How do you feel about teams that have not made the playoffs using the waiver wire?
Yes.
That this is this is a pressure anyone.
I like I like the idea of like consolation brackets, you know, like, oh, yeah, keep your season going.
Who can fight for fourth place or fifth place or whatever it is.
But, but this, this is where that can become an issue because then you have guys that are, are not using that are completely eliminated and using a waiver pick on, you know, whatever.
I think if this is like, if they're doing it intentionally, then you can raise an issue here.
But if they're just trying to add someone to fill out their roster, that's, that's what fantasy basketball is all about, right?
Here's a tricky one.
I think there's a few probably sort of question marks here.
What, what is the incentive for finishing third or fifth or seventh, like if you're in those playoffs, if your league has some sort of incentive where if you finish third, you get some money or if you sort of win the consolation bracket, you get the number one peak next season, then absolutely fine because you're actually playing for something.
But if it's just this is kind of a default setting to get some standings at the end of the season, then I would just talk to the commissioner and I think you just draw a line in the sand at the start of the year and say if you're eliminated, you can't use the waiver or you can because I think if you can, you can, like, you can't stop anyone doing it.
So I think you have to make that rule and if your commissioner is active enough and on top of things, then you could kind of put a caveat on that and say you can't, if you're in the say the seventh eighth playoff game, you can't, you can't do it to ruin other teams chances like it needs to be done.
To help yourself win kind of thing like because it could get messy because you might get the eighth place team dropping like a top 40 player to pick up some balm off the waiver wire and then the top team picks that guy up kind of thing so it can get a bit messy.
So yeah, it's a tough one.
And, you know, I think there's, you know, something to like if you have fat, right, if you have, if you do dollar, like, you pay for the waiver wire and someone, you know, who is in seventh place or not in the playoffs wants to go all in on Dennis Jenkins or like, you know, like, they said they're only for a reason and maybe they just want to screw the top two guys or whoever's playing in the playoffs or whatever, or they're just trying to compete for like you said, one of the incentives.
Definitely something worth bringing up to the commission though, if you, if you're sensing, sensing anything suspicious going on there.
Yeah.
Um, she says, do you think I should drop Nick claxon who has games Friday Sunday and pick up Mac of it, who has games today tomorrow and Sunday.
Um, we just talked about Mac of it.
Yeah, the minutes are starting to creep up there a little bit.
Um, Nick claxon is definitely a dropable player, but they're both playing similar minutes. So I would rather drop claxon for someone that is more guaranteed playing time.
Obviously, if you're looking at Carlo, your waiver wire is probably a little dead here already, but like, you brought up missy earlier, like, I might even rather have missy than claxon at this point. Maybe he's not rostered.
What are your thoughts on this question, Adam?
Uh, yeah, look, I think I would rather obviously someone else, but three, you're not going to get many three games. I think that's probably like Isaiah Jackson. I'd rather him, but he doesn't have three games.
So, yeah, I think that I think this is fine. As you said, Nick claxon has been pretty bad. He's, I mean, he's minutes are actually in some regards, they're lower around the 20 to 21 Mac of it.
Just haven't had a couple of 23 minute games. So, yeah, I'm fine with this.
Um, but I wouldn't then hesitate once this week is over to drop Mac of it and pick up someone for next week who has a good schedule.
I've totally fair and I'll hide you to issues.
Thank you for Thank you for the question. Appreciate the preach, the questions Matt. One more random one here before we get out of here from jighy.
He says, do you remember any curry lines more turnovers than assist steals blocks. Combined aka toxic players, who are some players that usually are much rostered, but you're happy. They're not on your team.
I mean, I'll just start off the bat here.
Joel and Bede is a player that is definitely must-raster,
but somebody that I have tried to stay away from
as hard as I could in fantasy for a couple of years now.
Obviously, that's probably a pretty generic one.
Do you have any names that pop off or jump off the list
when you're looking at this question?
No, it is more like those injured players,
like you say, Joel and Bede,
I didn't roster this year at all.
And for a while, I looked like an idiot
because he was playing so well,
but he's now missed whatever a month or something.
So yeah, it's usually those injured players
in terms of not rostering or not having them on my team
and being happy because of the stats they put up.
I usually punt so hard that everyone on my roster makes sense.
And so like not having Yarnas on a team
where I don't, where I need free throws and threes,
I'm happy that he's not on my roster
because I don't need him,
but in a different build, I'd love to have him.
So yeah, generally not,
other than those injured players that we talk about
coming into the season every year.
And I think I popped something up on Twitter
about where does Jarmarrant go next year?
I probably won't have him on any of my teams.
And maybe that, maybe I'll regret that,
but usually I'm out here with my decisions.
Yeah, totally fair, totally fair.
The other guy that I was gonna bring up Yarnas too,
but obviously as the guru of punting,
you are on top of all that.
The other guy is Zion Williamson.
He's kind of the best in both worlds there, right?
Like he earned the worst of both worlds.
He's injured a lot.
And when he's healthy, that free throw percentage
can really kill you sometimes,
even when he's having a really, really awesome games.
So yeah, injured guys and superstars
that have low free throw percentages
are normally the guys that I hate to roster
because even when they're having good games,
they can come back to bite you.
All right, one more question here from Admiral
and then we'll get out of here.
Better stream for the back-to-back
and perhaps beyond Colin Sexton or Leonard Miller,
10 team cat playoffs until April 12th.
So funny story.
I, in the stake league that we talk about a lot,
I've been trying to go after steals left and right.
And I dropped Colin Sexton for Elijah Harkelis.
Just for steals, most of the other categories
are pretty mute at this point.
So it was strictly for steals and then Colin Sexton.
And I moved off of Sexton because Simon's and Ivy
and O'Courill, there was positive news
about all of those guys on Sunday
when I had to make that decision.
And then obviously I've completely regretted it
because Sexton popped off for 25 points in three steals
and then he had 16 points in one steal in the last game.
I think Sexton's minutes are gonna be less
but I think he still has a higher all around upside,
if that makes sense.
Yeah, I think he probably does.
I would, I might go Leonard Miller,
Jail and Smith's out for the season now
and Nick Richards is dealing with something injury,
elbow, wrist, I don't know, he hurt something yesterday.
So I might go Leonard Miller just because I think
he probably plays a bit more,
but as he said, Sexton can do more in less time.
So and in a category league, what do you need?
Like Sexton is points three assists apparently steals.
Leonard Miller is sort of rebound splox.
So comes down to what you need a little bit
but I think both are worth a look but I'd prefer Miller.
And the last thing I'll say about Miller is, you know,
he was a defensive guy in the G league.
He was a great defensive guy
and that really hasn't happened yet.
He's kind of been this efficient scorer rebounder
in the NBA level.
So I do think that there's more to unlock with Miller.
So while I said that Sexton has the higher upside,
that's just going based off of like what we've seen
in the NBA before, we haven't seen Leonard really peak
in the NBA yet and that could happen.
And like you said, Richards with that elbow injury
Smith done for the season, there should be plenty
of minutes there.
So I like both of these guys honestly
and it probably just comes down to what categories
you need the most.
All right, Adam, really appreciate you hopping on
and dealing with all of my technical difficulties today.
I think we made it through the whole show with no issues.
We'll see what happens on the rewatch back.
Appreciate all the questions in the chat.
Everybody appreciate Sling TV for sponsoring the video.
You know, make sure you check out Sling TV
when you're trying to watch your favorite MLB teams
over the next couple of weeks here.
Adam, how are your shows going?
You're still rolling along with the daily Q&A?
Yeah, still doing them.
I've had a lot of people asking if that's going to be
a regular thing mixed season.
So I'm probably going to do something
like a pre-game live show every day.
So where we just, I'll go through the lineups,
the injuries and then take some live questions.
It won't be every day, maybe four to five days a week
because I have other shows that I have to do.
But no, they've been fun.
The live ones, as you know, you don't have to do much prep,
which I like.
It means I can just get up early in the morning,
do a show and go to work.
I honestly, the Q&As are incredible
because it gets you thinking about some things
that aren't on your radar.
Sometimes you get tunnel vision on your teams
and you're the players that you have rostered
and then you get some of these questions
and it really kind of opens your perspective up a little bit.
So I love it.
And hopefully we can continue doing it next year too.
Until then, that's it for the Thursday edition
